In her program, she admitted, “I did talk to students in Grade 9 at the school about MAPs. A MAP is a person who’s ‘minor attracted.’” Her organization also believes you should start talking to kids about sex as early as w because, “Why teach early? We believe educating early is the key to eliminating sexual abuse. Educating early does not strip your child of their innocence – but sexual abuse will.”

The founder and operator of Power Up is Kerri Isham, and she is under fire for her decision, during a presentation to Grade 9 students at the Quamichan School in Duncan, British Columbia, to refer to pedophiles as “MAPs” – that is, “Minor Attracted Persons.” This is a phrase preferred by pedophiles, who believe that “MAP” is a destigmatizing term that assists in legitimizing their “identity” and promotes social acceptance of their sexual attractions.
Isham admitted as much in a video posted for Facebook. “I did talk to students in Grade 9 at the school about MAPs,” she said. “A MAP is a person who’s ‘minor-attracted.’ This is an identity usually for men. MAPs are not part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. They would like to be, but they’ll never be accepted by the community because MAPs harm children. Instead of using the word ‘pedophile,’ they want to legitimize what they are doing by changing their identity to MAP.”
It is strange that Isham admitted that “MAP” is a term of “legitimization” – but still chose to use it. Indeed, asserting control over the language used in any debate over identity is a way of shaping the conclusion, which is precisely why pedophiles wish to choose their own labels.
A new type of agriculture called “electro-agriculture” could free humans from the vagaries of climate and enable them to grow reliable plant products under all conditions, including in the middle of the night. The method so far is a theory that appears on the Cell Press Journal Joule.
Essentially, a chemical reaction would be created through solar-powered electricity that would convert the CO2 in the air to something a plant can simply “eat” without photosynthesis. The plants will be genetically engineered to be able to do this.

Photosynthesis, the chemical reaction that enables almost all life on Earth, is extremely inefficient at capturing energy — only around 1% of light energy that a plant absorbs is converted into chemical energy within the plant. In a perspective paper publishing October 23 in the Cell Press journal Joule, bioengineers propose a radical new method of food production that they call “electro-agriculture.” The method essentially replaces photosynthesis with a solar-powered chemical reaction that more efficiently converts CO2 into an organic molecule that plants would be genetically engineered to “eat.” The researchers estimate that if all food in the US were produced using electro-agriculture, it would reduce the amount of land needed for agriculture by 94%. The method could also be used to grow food in space.
“If we don’t need to grow plants with sunlight anymore, then we can decouple agriculture from the environment and grow food in indoor, controlled environments,” says corresponding author and biological engineer Robert Jinkerson of University of California, Riverside. “I think that we need to move agriculture into the next phase of technology, and producing it in a controlled way that is decoupled from nature has to be the next step.”
Electro-agriculture would mean replacing agricultural fields with multi-story buildings. The acetate would then be used to feed plants that are grown hydroponically. The method could also be used to grow other food-producing organisms, since acetate is naturally used by mushrooms, yeast, and algae.
“The whole point of this new process to try to boost the efficiency of photosynthesis,” says senior author Feng Jiao, an electrochemist at Washington University in St. Louis. “Right now, we are at about 4% efficiency, which is already four times higher than for photosynthesis, and because everything is more efficient with this method, the CO2 footprint associated with the production of the food becomes much smaller.”
To genetically engineer acetate-eating plants, the researchers are taking advantage of a metabolic pathway that germinating plants use to break down food stored in their seeds. This pathway is switched off once plants become capable of photosynthesis, but switching it back on would enable them to use acetate as a source of energy and carbon.
“We’re trying to turn this pathway back on in adult plants and reawaken their native ability to utilize acetate,” says Jinkerson. “It’s analogous to lactose intolerance in humans — as babies we can digest lactose in milk, but for many people that pathway is turned off when they grow up. It’s kind of the same idea, only for plants.”

In India too, special emphasis is being laid on green growth, climate resilient infrastructure and green transition. Indeed, India has taken up several initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Mission LiFE i.e. Lifestyle for Environment, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
Last year, during COP-28, we started an important initiative called Green Credit. I invite BRICS partners to join these initiatives.
Special emphasis is being laid on the construction of infrastructure in all BRICS countries. We have established a digital platform called the Gati-Shakti portal to rapidly expand multi-modal connectivity in India. This has helped in integrated infrastructure development planning and implementation and has reduced logistics costs.

For centuries, navies around the world have taken pride in their large surface warships. The dominance of these warships persisted even after the advent of submarines. In fact, during the Second World War, when submarines became a primary weapons platform for navies, the aircraft carrier stole all the headlines.
Today, however, things are changing…
The rise of anti-access/area-denial (A2/AD) means that the large surface warship’s days as the primary form of power projection in a naval fleet are coming to an end.
Consider that the Ford-class aircraft carrier, America’s newest, costs $13 billion per unit, plus hundreds of millions of dollars per year to maintain. The more numerous Nimitz-class aircraft carriers, while older than the Ford-class, are also very expensive.
An aircraft carrier is a large, highly complex warship. Its purpose is to maneuver a floating airbase near the territory of an enemy in order to threaten that rival with precise and consistent airstrikes.
Yet for a fraction of the cost, China’s Dong-Feng 26B missile can either sink an aircraft carrier outright or simply destroy its flight deck, rendering the carrier useless in battle.
The carrier is the primary means of American power projection. Its absence or limitation leaves a critical gap in U.S. military capabilities. That is a strategic gap that a rival like China can easily exploit.
It’s not just aircraft carriers that are vulnerable to China’s growing anti-ship capabilities. Other surface warships are also targets.
The Chinese military has developed a growing coterie of hypersonic weapons capabilities that it is planning to launch against incoming U.S. warships. Whatever defenses those warships have against conventional anti-ship missiles, there are no known countermeasures on U.S. warships to protect against these hypersonic systems.
It seems the Biden-Harris administration has made America a safe space for at least one of her sworn existential enemies, the Chinese Communist Party. A report from the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence claims “CCP-related espionage and acts of transnational repression” have spiked under the Biden-Harris administration’s watch.

Company leaders said the initial wave of closings will take place mostly in the back half of its fiscal year, which started last month. Walgreens will prioritize poor-performing stores where the property is owned by the company, or where leases are expiring.
Walgreens operates about 8,500 stores in the United States and a few thousand overseas. All of the stores that will be closed are in the United States.

Walgreens reported $37.55 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter, 6% higher than this time last year.
However, overall, the company has a net loss of $3 billion for the quarter.

They’re going to close over 1000 stores in the next three years. 500 will close their doors in the next one year. It’s in response to competition from online pharmacies like Amazon, then also rising labor costs and declining prescription drug payments. But, as I said above, I wonder if locking up products significantly affected low sales.
In August, Business Insider reported that Walgreens and CVS locked up products to deter shoplifting.
At one Duane Reade location in Brooklyn, New York, Business Insider saw an older adult ask why the toothpaste was locked up as an associate was unlocking aspirin for her. Duane Reade is owned by Walgreens.
[Global Data analyst Neil] Saunders also said it’s a natural response for retailers to try to protect their inventory from shoplifters, but preventing or delaying honest shoppers doesn’t exactly help a store’s financial performance either.
Spokespersons for Walgreens and CVS each told BI that anti-theft technologies were installed in response to store-level shoplifting data and intended to ensure that products were in stock for customers.
“Locking a product is a measure of last resort,” the CVS spokesperson said. Rite Aid did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In 2022, a Rite Aid executive blamed high losses on shoplifting. The executive said the company was at a point of “‘literally putting everything‘ under lock and key.”
The different definitions of theft causes problems for companies to determine if shoplifting has a significant impact:
It’s partly a definition problem. “Organized retail crime,” “retail theft,” and similar terms don’t correspond with categories that local police departments use to categorize crimes, Hanna Love, a fellow at Brookings, told Business Insider.

The company applied for federal funding to supply an electric bus to Princeton Joint Unified School District located in northern California.
It remains unclear whether the company is directly providing its buses to school districts that applied for program funding from the EPA. “We are currently not aware of other school districts that may be purchasing buses from this company under the Clean School Bus program,” EPA spokesman Remmington Belford said in a statement to the Free Beacon.
BYD Americas’s president, Ke Li, then donated $25,000 to the Biden Victory Fund (now the Harris Victory Fund), $18,400 to the Democratic National Committee, but earmarked for the Biden Victory Fund, and a maximum individual contribution of $6,600 to the Biden campaign (now the Harris campaign), according to FEC filings reviewed by the Free Beacon. Li made each contribution on the same day: Nov. 14, 2023. President Joe Biden’s $96 million campaign war chest was transferred to Harris’s campaign in July after Biden withdrew from the presidential race.
In BYD Company’s most recent annual report, Li is identified as a Chinese national. Other company documents indicate she is a Chinese national with a “right of abode” in the United States. While federal law prohibits foreign nationals from making campaign donations, there is an exception for individuals with a green card.
Li’s donations are evidence that Chinese electric vehicle industry officials support the Biden-Harris administration’s agenda, even as the administration seeks to curb reliance on Chinese companies for green energy technologies. They also put a spotlight on the taxpayer funds the administration steered to BYD Americas as part of the push to rapidly scale up EV and electric bus production.
BYD is one of a handful of Chinese automakers that Congress began probing last month over potential espionage concerns. The company was also targeted by a provision in the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, which prohibits federal funding from being used to procure buses manufactured by a company that “is owned or controlled by, is a subsidiary of, or is otherwise related legally or financially to a corporation based in” China.
That provision—designed to block Chinese companies from benefiting both from subsidies awarded by the Chinese government and the U.S. government—applies, however, to programs administered by the Transportation Department. BYD Americas issued a press release last year publicly offering its products for the Clean School Bus program. “We are happy to help children across the U.S. breathe cleaner air,” said Patrick Duan, the company’s senior vice president.
BYD Americas didn’t respond to a request for comment.
The Clean School Bus program was created three years ago as a provision of the 2021 infrastructure bill, which put aside $5 billion for the EPA to distribute in the form of rebates and grants over the course of five years. Since the initial announcement in 2022, when BYD was selected for funding, the EPA has selected hundreds of school districts to receive nearly $3 billion to deploy electric buses.
A recent report published by the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s oversight subcommittee concluded the program was “overall a failure,” in part because it serves as a subsidy for products with ties to China. The report also found the program is costly, vulnerable to fraud, and improperly pushes school districts to adopt inefficient technology.
BYD Americas operates a plant in Lancaster, California, where it assembles electric bus and coach models. Its parent company, BYD Company, operates dozens more plants worldwide, and it manufactures batteries and passenger EVs among other technologies. Although BYD Company doesn’t export any passenger EVs to the United States, it is planning to open a plant in Mexico to supply EVs to the American market, Reuters reported in May.
In recent months, BYD Company has emerged as the world’s largest manufacturer of EVs, surpassing Tesla, which held that title for years. The Chinese company delivered more than 500,000 battery-electric vehicles during the final quarter of 2023, more than the 484,000 sold by Tesla, marking the first time Tesla was dethroned as the top EV maker in the world, the Financial Times reported.
BYD’s growing market share of the global EV market exemplifies China’s continued dominance of both the EV industry and the green energy sector more broadly.
According to the International Energy Agency, for example, China produces about 75 percent of all lithium-ion batteries, a key component of EVs, worldwide. China also boasts 70 percent of production capacity for cathodes and 85 percent for anodes, two key parts of such batteries, the data showed.
“Just at a time when American producers have made our country energy independent in oil and natural gas, Biden/Harris are pursuing energy policies that would make us dependent on China,” Kathleen Sgamma, the president of industry group the Western Energy Alliance, told the Free Beacon.
The Biden-Harris administration’s “record of favoring technologies dependent on China that would be disastrous for the American worker, economy, and energy supply makes you wonder about their loyalties,” she added.

The security deposits would equal more than 30% of the products’ total value.
The announcement came days after the EU decided on Friday to move ahead with tariffs on China-made electric vehicles of up to 45%. The extra tariff could be as high as 35% and would come on top of the existing 10% rate.

After the longshoreman’s strike, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is moving to assure the ports in Florida stay open, calling up the national guard to step in to keep essential operations flowing. The captured anti-American Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is spreading disinformation to attack truth by calling truth a lie. The agency, through Homeland Security Secretary Alehandro Mayorkas (one of the main engineers and executioners of the illegal Plandemic campaign currently being conducted the Democratic Party) claimed they weren’t funding illegal aliens after he said “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season. We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,”

The total funding made available for this program in fiscal year 2024 was $650 million. The funding total in fiscal year 2023 was $363.8 million. Hundreds of millions were previously awarded by FEMA for migrants through the emergency food and shelter program.
Earlier this year, nearly $19.6 million in FEMA funds was used to pay for an illegal alien welcome center in San Diego County.
In response to Mayorkas turning out empty pockets, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) wrote, “This is easy. Mayorkas and FEMA — immediately stop spending money on illegal immigration resettlement and redirect those funds to areas hit by the hurricane. Put Americans first.”
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) tweeted, “FEMA spending over a billion dollars on illegals while they leave Americans stranded and without help is treasonous. U.S. citizens are dying. Pray for our country folks.”

After years of mainstream media accusations that former President Donald Trump did nothing to protect the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, new transcripts reveal that the then-president was the only one who wanted extra security, only for his requests to be refused.
As reported by Just The News, the transcripts show that President Trump ordered officials to “do whatever it takes” to protect the Capitol on the day that the electoral votes for the 2020 election were being certified, out of fear of protests against the suspicious and probably fraudulent election results.
The transcripts were recorded during interviews with top government officials in the aftermath of January 6th by the Pentagon’s inspector general. One of the key witnesses was Mark Milley, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During his interviews, Milley admitted that during a meeting on January 3rd, President Trump had already approved the use of the National Guard and active-duty troops to maintain law and order in the nation’s capital on the 6th.
“The President just says, ‘Hey look at this. It’s going to be a large amount of protesters coming here on the 6th, and make sure that you have sufficient National Guard or Soldiers to make sure it’s a safe event,’” Milley recalled to the inspector general. Milley then said that Christopher Miller, who was acting Secretary of Defense at the time, assured the president of security plans for that day: “Miller responds by saying, ‘Hey, we’ve got a plan, and we’ve got it covered.’ And that’s about it.”
Later in the same interview, Milley again confirmed that President Trump was the one who insisted on higher security.
“It was just what I just described, which was, ‘Hey, I don’t care if you use Guard, or soldiers, active-duty soldiers, do whatever you have to do,” Milley continued. “Just make sure it’s safe.”
However, when Miller was interviewed by the inspector general, he confessed to refusing to use additional security for fear of political repercussions.
“There was absolutely — there is absolutely no way I was putting U.S. military forces at the Capitol, period,” said Miller at the time. The former acting secretary went on to say that officials instead utilized an interagency process to come up with an alternative plan that would delegate some DC National Guard troops to the job of directing traffic, but not to actually guard the Capitol; this proposal was suggested by Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D-D.C.).
“The operational plan was this, let’s take the D.C. National Guard, keep them away from the Capitol,” Miller explained. “Let’s put — the request, it wasn’t my request, Bowser and her Metropolitan Police Department were like ‘Let’s put D.C. National Guard on traffic control points and at the Metro stations to free up credentialed law-enforcement officers that can go out and arrest people.’”
The transcripts of the interviews were released by House Administration Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.). The bombshell revelations vindicate President Trump, and raise even more questions about the roles that officials like Milley, Miller, and Bowser played in the lead-up to the peaceful protest which went inside the Capitol, which has since been widely and falsely described as an “insurrection.”
