President Trump’s use of emergency powers to deploy the National Guard to America’s disgracefully crime-ridden capital city was greeted with racially charged animus by the (for the moment) taxpayer-funded pundits on PBS’s Washington Week in Review on Friday evening.

Show moderator and Atlantic editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg brought up what he “a domestic military situation, the National Guard on the streets of Washington.”

Scott MacFarlane of CBS News admitted some locals supported the “extra law enforcement,” but quickly pivoted to worries Trump’s federalization would last forever and went on to suggest documented suspicions of the crime figures being cooked were conspiratorial.

Resurrecting longstanding complaints about how U.S. elections are run, President Donald Trump this week reiterated that he wants faster election results, but doesn’t want voting machines.

In Aug. 18 remarks at the White House, Trump said that a forthcoming executive order will “end mail-in ballots” and change voting machines.

Trump continued, “The machines, I mean, they say we’re going to have the results in two weeks. With paper ballots, you have the results that night.”

Amid starvation imposed by Israel on Gaza and deadly bombings in Ukraine, President Donald Trump’s narcissism is reaching new heights.

“I’ve done six wars, I’ve ended six wars,” he claimed on Monday in a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders, taking credit for settling conflicts that the US began or saw little to no American involvement in their resolutions. Elsewhere in the Oval Office meeting, Trump forced guests to a viewing of hats emblazoned with “4 more years.”

Such stunning self-regard was once again on display Tuesday as Trump praised accused war criminal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as a “war hero” over his approval of Israel’s June airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, and then gave some love to himself. “I guess I am, too,” Trump told the conservative radio host Mark Levin despite having never fought in combat. “Nobody cares. But I am [a war hero] too. I mean, I sent those planes.” Similar omissions abounded throughout the conversation, with no mention of bone spurs or Trump’s public denigration of the late Sen. John McCain and Gold Star families.

CNN Would Rather Talk About Slavery… and a Lefty MAGA Supporter Exposed Why That’s the Case– townhall.com

President Trump said something about the Smithsonian and being too focused on slavery, which you know would trigger a meltdown among those in the liberal media. The legacy press can now whine about his posts and ignore the ongoing peace talks to end the war in Ukraine—a story that likely drove up the blood pressures in newsrooms since everyone knows Trump is a lock for the Nobel Peace Prize if he pulls this off. Meanwhile, Trump continues to gash the media for being biased and unhinged. He’s also trying to reset the academic direction regarding this nation’s history, which is too focused on highlighting the sins of the past to handcuff progress. Liberals would rather trap us perpetually in 1877 to feed their victimhood fetish and their obsession with trashing America.

CNN did just that last night, having a lengthy segment on slavery, Trump’s remarks, and other silliness. We don’t need to do this: Slavery was our original sin, our republic collapsed because of it, we fought a civil war, and it’s gone. That’s the point. It’s no longer allowed, prohibited forever by the 13th Amendment. It remains our bloodiest war, but also our most moral. And we became a better country for it in the long run, obviously. But the Left would rather obsess about race and white supremacy, which isn’t an accident.

Lefty MAGA supporter Batya Ugar-Sargon ripped the guts out of the segment, noting that in 2012, white progressives became addicted to anything relating to race, slavery, and white supremacy, which was magnified by the liberal media. It was a surreal moment:

Meanwhile, Scott Jennings offered a take that not even liberals on the panel could reject. And no, Trump is not saying slavery wasn’t bad or never happened. It’s the ‘Great Awokening’ that he’s combating, but the Left is too stupid to realize that.

President Donald Trump seemed to crack on Truth Social Sunday as he condemned the media for reporting on his apparent pro-Russia stance following his Alaska summit with Vladimir Putin.

Instead of pursuing a ceasefire agreement as originally planned, Trump said he would try to convince Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to concede land to the Kremlin in order to put an end to the more than three-year war.

Critics saw this outcome as an obvious bow to Putin, but the president disagreed.

“It’s incredible how the Fake News violently distorts the TRUTH when it comes to me. There is NOTHING I can say or do that would lead them to write or report honestly about me.” Trump wrote on social media.

Truly, this is a moment as important as it is unusual. History does not provide us a guide here.

Never before have we seen so many world leaders gather at such short notice for a meeting like this at the White House, and with a president as consequential as he is unpredictable.

The speed with which it has been organised is remarkable. A diplomatic source has framed the hasty gathering as “organic”; the obvious next step after the Alaska summit, the source said.

If you want to know why the media shills for Hamas, rewatch this segment on CNN with Josh Rogin and Scott Jennings. The Gaza war was the topic, since Israel announced they were going in to destroy the rest of the terror group and occupy the rest of the strip.

Rogin then went on some cockamamie analysis about how Israel wants to prolong the war, the suffering, and said that if occupying Gaza would destroy Hamas, it would’ve worked by now. It hasn’t. My man, its last stronghold has been untouched by Israeli forces. They still have an enclave of control. Jennings rightly said that Hamas doesn’t want a ceasefire, and they don’t want to release the hostages. Nothing can happen until Hamas is gone, to which Rogin said, “Hamas is part of Palestinian society in all ways and forms. So, you can’t completely eliminate it.”

The media/left-wing hysteria over movie star Sydney Sweeney’s ad for American Eagle was straight out of the Twilight Zone.

I mean, who would have thought a simple commercial about jeans featuring an unapologetically curvy woman that reminded you of those Calvin Klein ads featuring actress Brooke Shields from the 1980s would have sparked a backlash centered around wokeness and anti-white racism?

Well, it indeed happened, as Legal Insurrection‘s own Leslie Eastman explained at the time:

Unfortunately, the woke and those who bitterly cling to “body positivity” and victimhood are incredibly unhappy. The elite media refers to the ads as “controversial” as they promote the hysterical and nonsensical takes on the AE campaign. But I have to say the anti-white race hate in the remarks published in the reports about this “nontroversy” is positively chilling.

Goldman Sachs is taking the heat for its call that heavier tariff-induced consumer inflation is ahead, but it’s far from alone in that view among its Wall Street brethren.

Despite investors’ embrace of Tuesday’s fairly benign consumer price index report, economists expect that the biggest impact to inflation is yet to come.

With pre-tariff inventories rolling off, effective tariff rates climbing higher and companies less willing to absorb higher costs from the duties, the general feeling is that consumers are increasingly going to feel the bite through the rest of the year.

Residents in parts of Washington DC took to the streets Wednesday to protest President Donald Trump’s takeover of the city’s police department and the surge of federal officers and National Guard troops. The demonstrations, marked by chants and calls for drivers to avoid police checkpoints, came as the White House defended the month-long federal control as necessary to combat crime, despite city data showing violent crime at a decades-low, reported AP.

Inflation numbers released Tuesday beat economists’ expectations, sending one CNN anchor into an emotional tailspin as she attempted to explain away why President Donald Trump keeps winning each news cycle.

The July consumer price index (CPI) report showed that total energy prices fell 1.1% while food prices held steady and shelter ticked up 0.2%. Gas prices dropped 2.2%, an anomaly for a summer month where a record number of Americans travel during the summer holiday season, but also a reflection of a global economic slowdown.

On CNN, a morning anchor could barely stifle her surprise that Americans aren’t feeling a greater pinch at the grocery store after countless economic experts warned about the shock that President Trump’s tariffs would have on food prices.

The Democrats’ media allies are arguing that President Donald Trump’s federal takeover of Washington, D.C., was unwarranted due to sharply decreasing crime rates. However, these reports do not provide a complete and accurate picture of the crime crisis in the area.

Since February, Trump has repeatedly warned D.C. leaders, including Mayor Muriel Bowser (D), that the federal government will intervene unless the nation’s capital is cleaned up.

‘Unfortunately, while Fake News journalists and politicians go out of their way to claim otherwise, the reality is that our nation’s capital is anything but safe.’

Pirro spoke with the media to add her endorsement to President Donald Trump’s plan to reduce crime in the District of Columbia by calling out the National Guard and putting the Metropolitan Police Department under federal control.

Although media reports cited that crime overall in Washington has been declining, Pirro lambasted a reporter who seemed fixated on that and not the damage crime is doing to the city.

“It may be down, but the question is always down from what?” she said in a video posted to X.

Donald Trump did a thing, causing Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) to have a knee-jerk reaction to said thing that they didn’t think through. Washington DC is a cesspool edition: Trump is against DC being a violent cesspool, so the media and Democrats (but I repeat myself) have to claim it isn’t. As Scott Jennings points out during another 4-on-1 handicapped match on CNN, no one is buying it.

Ponder this quote from yesterday as you continue: “Donald Trump has some of the best political instincts of any politician…”

Democrats and the media (again, I repeat myself) have decided on 30% as the statistic to claim Trump is spreading fake news, because, ACKSHUALLY, DC isn’t mostly violent anymore. It’s only very much violent. As Jennings says, good luck with that.

Whoops, wrong post. Here’s Jennings.

You know who also isn’t a fan of the alleged “30%?” Gregg Pemberton. He’s the chairman of the DC Police Union. You know, the guys who put their lives on the line every day they leave their families to go to work.

This is what Trump understands that the media and the Democrats (do I have to say it again?) refuse to. The Trump Admin is well aware of statistics claiming crime in D.C. “has fallen significantly from COVID-era highs.” And yet, residents of Washington DC don’t feel 30% safer than they did 30 years ago. According to a recent poll, half of the city says crime was an “extremely serious” problem, or at least “very serious.”

One of my maxims in covering politics and the press is that whenever you see changes in the language, that is where you can spot a problem in the messaging. The need to alter terminology and definition is done to control the narrative, so when you see these alterations, you know some trouble in the delivery took place. A couple of new options are emerging in the media, a sign that they are losing the handle on national narratives.

The Cincinnati city council member who made headlines last week for saying mob attack victims “begged” for the beating they received sat down for a video interview in which she doubled down on her perspective, refused to resign, and invoked race as a factor in the attack.

Meanwhile, the woman who was punched in the face by a male during the mob beatdown — and apparently knocked out as a result — recorded a tearful video in which she thanked those who’ve supported her.

‘You never start a fight with a white person. But if they hit you first, that becomes a reason for all of the frustration and hurt and terror … of generations, historical generational pain, to be released. And I believe that’s what happened.’

WLWT-TV said the woman shared her video with the station and asked to be identified only by her first name — Holly — and thanked “everyone for all of the love and support. It is very humbling that you have sent your prayers, your blessings. It’s definitely what’s keeping me going, and you have just brought back faith in humanity, so God bless you all. And thank you. I appreciate everything that you’re doing for me and my family. It’s been very, very hard, and I’m still recovering. I still have very bad brain trauma and it’s — thank you. Thank you, everyone.”

CBS Discovers Social Security Time Bomb, Pushes More Taxes as Best Solution– www.newsbusters.org

Entitlement spending was the largest driver of America’s debt and the Social Security time bomb had been counting down for decades. Over the weekend, CBS News Sunday Morning stirred at the sound only to promote raising taxes as the most viable solution, dismissed investing the money, and completely ignored President Trump’s baby bonds which were already signed into law last month. Of course, they also decried Trump’s cuts to the Social Security Administration.

Kicking the stories off with the report by David Pogue, the first thing viewers were met with was a soundbite of former Biden Press Secretary turned MSNBC host Jen Psaki proclaiming: “Social Security recipients are dealing with an unbelievable amount of chaos.”

“Social Security has been getting a lot of attention lately — and not the good kind. The Social Security Administration was already at its smallest size in 50 years, when earlier this year, Elon Musk`s DOGE team cut another 14 percent of its employees — 7,000 people,” Pogue lamented.

After the Supreme Court signaled on Oct. 1 that it would seek to probe whether or not states violate the Constitution when they attempt to remedy violations of the Voting Rights Act by adding an additional majority-minority district to make sure that Black voters and voters of color have an equal chance to elect the candidate of their choice, election law experts began to sound the alarm regarding what the Supreme Court could do to bring about the end of the Voting Rights Act.

As one expert, Rick Hasen, of the UCLA School of Law, wrote in his blog, he believes that the Supreme Court is taking “a big, and dangerous, step toward knocking down” a key component of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

According to CNN, the case, which will test whether or not the State of Louisiana’s “intentional creation of a second majority-minority congressional district violates the Fourteenth or Fifteenth Amendments to the U. S. Constitution,” is regarded as one of the most important appeals the court will issue rulings on over the back half of the judiciary calendar.

The case has been decided differently by two federal courts; one ruled that the state violated the Constitution by drawing only one majority-Black district out of the six that currently comprise the state. When it tried to remedy that problem by drawing another majority-Black district, another federal court said that it violated the Constitution by relying too much on race to meet that court’s demands, which seems to directly contradict language in Section 2 of the VRA.

President Trump’s growing use of military force in immigration enforcement is a dangerous erosion of the line between civilian and military authority—one that threatens the constitutional balance and civil liberties at the heart of American democracy.

A newly leaked Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by The New Republic, combined with recent federal court rulings and press coverage of indiscriminate enforcement in Los Angeles, reveals a chilling effort to use military force against civilian populations under the pretext of immigration control.

The memo urges senior Pentagon leaders to deepen cooperation with DHS on immigration operations—not just at the southern border, but in cities like Los Angeles. It calls for military personnel to be detailed inside Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection to support planning and operational logistics. It praises recent military-style raids in Los Angeles as a model for future deployments and likens threats from Central and South American street gangs to those posed by Al Qaeda or ISIS.

The document reveals a July 21 meeting between top DHS and Department of Defense officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine, and NORTHCOM Commander Gregory Guillot. The aim of the meeting was to secure high-level buy-in from Pentagon leadership to increase the role of the military in domestic immigration enforcement.

First of all, I would say, you know what? Today is a great day to end the corruption of Greg Abbott. This has gone on far too long.

The public has been enraged about this. How politicians continue to tell the public pretty words, but never actually do what they say they would do. Leader Wu said, “No, it’s all bluster, sound and fury signifying nothing.”

White House Economic Adviser Kevin Hassett couldn’t offer any evidence that the Bureau of Statistics was involved in any nefarious actions with their jobs reports and admitted Trump just wants to put his own people in.

After the BLS issued the worst jobs report for years for July, Trump, in a fit of rage immediately fired Erika McEntarfer, the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Making Trump’s economy look even worse, the Bureau revised their jobs report for the last two months showing Demented Donald added 258,000 fewer jobs than initially reported.

Earlier in the interview, Hassett tried to claim the BLS numbers were propaganda, which is absurd.

WELKER: So is the president prepared to fire anyone who reports data that he disagrees with?

HASSETT: No, absolutely not. The president wants his own people there, so that when we see the numbers, they’re more transparent and more reliable.
