According to the Associated Press, CBS said it had edited the interview, which ran 16 minutes and 40 seconds in its original form, for length, and posted the full interview on its website and YouTube. As the AP correctly noted, Noem “made a series of unproven accusations about Ábrego García” in the portion of the interview that was cut. This is a pattern of behavior by the administration with respect to Kilmar Ábrego García, a Salvadoran refugee who had been illegally deported to the CECOT concentration camp in his country of origin.
In the context of the recent capitulations by CBS News and its parent company Paramount in the face of Trump administration demands, the announcement is noteworthy — and dangerous.

CHICAGO — The Rev. Marshall Hatch urged congregants of a prominent Black church on Chicago’s West Side to carry identification, stay connected to family and protest as the city readied for an expected federal intervention.
“You need to start telling people about your whereabouts, so you don’t disappear,” Hatch said during Sunday services at New Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. “We’re not going to despair. We’re not going to feel threatened. We’re not going to give up and give in to fascism and authoritarianism.”
As Chicago braced for an immigration enforcement crackdown and a possible National Guard deployment, churches across the city turned up their response from the pulpit. Some worked to quell fears about detention and deportation while others addressed the looming possibility of more law enforcement on the streets of the nation’s third-largest city.
President Donald Trump has threatened federal intervention in Democratic strongholds, most recently warning apocalyptic force could be used in Chicago to fight crime and step up deportations. He’s repeatedly cited the expected plans over fierce objections from local leaders and many residents who call it unnecessary and unwanted.
Fox News host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, who primarily goes by just “Kennedy” on the network, argued during Wednesday’s installment of “The Five” that Robin Westman’s transgender identity is irrelevant when discussing Wednesday’s mass shooting targeting a Catholic school in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Westman — a biological male who started “identifying” as a female when he was 17 — indiscriminately opened fire on students as they were attending a school-wide mass on Wednesday morning. Two children, aged 8 and 10 were killed, while 14 other students and three additional adults were wounded. Thankfully, all of those injured are expected to survive.
The gunman uploaded a number of disturbing videos prior to carrying out the attack, many of which contained anti-Christian imagery and nods to far-left extremism. Westman scribbled a number of messages on his weapons, including “Where is your god,” “I’m the woker, why so queerious” and “Kill Donald Trump.”
Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele — who now works as a partisan left-wing host for MSNBC — trashed Christians and conservatives for offering prayers in the aftermath of Wednesday’s shooting targeting the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
While speaking on a panel that included U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and longtime Democratic Party operative Symone Sanders, Steele said that he agrees with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey’s stance on the “trans community.” After a transgender-identifying gunman killed two children and wounded several others, the far-left mayor has repeatedly stated that the city must stand by its “trans community” and protect them from “abuse” and “harassment.”
“As an elected official, you are on the ground with your folks and you appreciate this journey. I agree with the mayor,” Steele said.
“The thoughts and prayers, I’m so beyond, so beyond that nonsense, the lie of that,” he added with a look of pure disgust on his face. “Because what we have are people who continue to stand in the way of actually doing something to stop the violence against their own kids. It is amazing to me. We watch young kids die in classrooms and now in church, and all we get are thoughts and prayers.”
If you needed evidence that biased misinformation is more harmful than no information, you needed to look no further than CNN on Wednesday morning.
Just a little while earlier, the news had emerged that a shooter had opened fire on Catholic students in Mass at a school in Minneapolis. School had just started on Monday, and the Wednesday morning service had been meant to mark the beginning of the school year.
At 11 a.m. ET, it was known that the shooter was dead, and it was known that many were injured, although the exact number or if any were dead had been unreported. What wasn’t known was that the shooter was an anti-God, anti-Jewish, anti-Trump transgender former student with serious mental health issues who left a number of messages to that effect on the guns he used. This would become an optics problem for the liberal media as the day unfolded.
What happened today at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis was a horrific tragedy.
I’m sure you’ve heard about the identity of the shooter by now, but in case you haven’t, the gunman was a mentally-ill, transgender man named Robin Westman.
Before gunning down several children at the school, Westman posted a series of disturbing social media videos.
Some of them showed his guns and magazines, on which he scrawled messages — including “Kill Donald Trump.”
However, ABC News’ coverage of that message is highly questionable, to say the least.
In fact, in an apparent attempt to paint Westman as a Trump supporter, ABC News refused to say the exact message.
Instead, correspondent Aaron Katersky vaguely referenced that “President Trump’s name” was written on the gun…

A raging leftist was arrested Saturday in Washington, D.C. and charged with making a series of social media posts threatening to kill President Donald Trump, but the propaganda press has decided to downplay or ignore the threat.
Nathalie “Nath” Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Indiana, threatened to kill, kidnap, or injure Trump in her posts, according to a statement from the Secret Service.
By Tuesday, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and The New York Times had either not reported the arrest, or hid it on their websites so well that a deep web search came up with nothing.
“I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present,” Jones wrote in an August 6 Facebook post directed to the FBI.
President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he would work to “get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS.” Democrats and their media allies reflexively attacked the president, insisting that mail-in voting is secure — as if repeating it often enough makes it true.
Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold said on CNN that “Mail ballots are secure.” ABC News’ Hannah Demissie dismissed Trump’s claims as “without … evidence” before later conceding fraud does occur, but that it’s “rare” (as if any amount of voter fraud should be tolerated). ABC7 Eyewitness News said Trump “falsely” claimed mail-in ballots “lead to voter fraud.”
MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace said Trump’s comments are “completely false” and claimed there is “zero evidence” to support his voter fraud claims in U.S. elections.
MSNBC will lose the peacock logo and be rebranded as “MS NOW” ahead of its spinoff from Comcast’s NBCUniversal, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
The details were shared with staff members by Mark Lazarus, who will run NBCUniversal’s new public company, Versant, as CEO. Lazarus addressed the rebrand as well as the logo change.
“As we all know, the peacock is synonymous with NBCUniversal, and it is a symbol they have decided to keep within the NBCU family,” he said. “This gives us the opportunity to chart our own path forward, create distinct brand identities, and establish an independent news organization following the spin.”

Most rational human beings who know anything about American history believe that the practice of slavery was one of the United States’ original sins, and that it was allowed for too long. Untold millions suffered due to the enslavement of human beings across generations in a way that still has very real lingering effects.
Which makes slavery the most bewildering topic for Republicans to want to explore the upside of.
President Donald Trump made clear on Tuesday that he doesn’t like all this negative talk about slavery, and complained that the Smithsonian museums are too “woke.”
“The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been — Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future,” Trump bleated on Truth Social.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has made himself the face of the Democratic change in tactics when dealing with Trump and his party, but there is a broader sense that the urging of the elite consultant class that Democrats needed to move in Trump’s direction has been rejected and the party has unified on a strategy to fight and fight hard.
While Gavin Newsom was doing podcasts with Steve Bannon and Charlie Kirk, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries had been sounding the alarm before Trump came into office and trying to drag congressional Democratic leadership into fight mode.
After Chuck Schumer was nearly run out of the party for caving to Trump on government funding, the tide seemed to shift. When Trump moved on trying to rig the midterm election, it seems that Democrats at all levels got on the same page.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore came out swinging over the weekend, rejecting a plot by President Donald Trump to deploy federal troops to Baltimore, the largest city in Moore’s home state.
Trump has deployed federal law enforcement and the National Guard to Washington, despite a recent drop in crime. He has also threatened to repeat the process with other major cities with large Black populations. In response, Moore sent a letter to Trump on Thursday, inviting him to go on a safety walk in Baltimore to see how crime-prevention efforts have improved the situation there.
As part of our broad approach to public safety, I regularly join community advocates and elected officials to walk through the neighborhoods most affected by violent crime,” Moore wrote. “I would like to formally invite you to attend our next public safety walk in September, at a date of your choosing.”
But the president has never been deterred by facts—and he is now setting his sights on additional cities where violent crime has already been falling.
The Washington Post first reported on Saturday that the Pentagon has for weeks been developing plans for potential troop deployments in Chicago. The report came a day after Trump hinted at such a move himself, calling Chicago a “mess” and Mayor Brandon Johnson “incompetent.” Citing officials familiar, the Post reports that the plan could include mobilizing a few thousand members of the National Guard to take to Chicago’s streets by next month.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Rev. Al Sharpton, the issue was raised and this was Lee’s response in the exchange between the pair:
LEE: “We’re, Rev, as you know, this country right now, it’s bananas. And this guy trying to take over D.C. and just weaponize these things, I mean, he’s going to think twice to try to do that in New York though. That ain’t — the Boogie Down, Harlem, Bed-Stuy, Do or Die? Eh-eh.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a fiery exchange with a CBS reporter on Sunday, accusing her of pushing a “stupid media narrative” regarding Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting today with U.S. officials.
On yesterday’s “Face the Nation” broadcast, host Margaret Brennan claimed that European leaders were joining Zelenskyy as backup to protect him from being “bullied into signing something away.”
Rubio pushed back hard, telling Brennan, “That is not true. But that’s not true, they’re not coming here tomorrow to keep Zelenskyy from being bullied.”
In other words, it’s not a large crowd, but it’s an anti-Trump crowd. We repeatedly notice NPR skips conservative protests it doesn’t like, typically the annual March for Life in January.
