Hegseth’s racism is hidden in plain sight– www.dailykos.com

We’ve already written about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s needlessly expensive rant at the nation’s military brass. But one detail has slipped past most observers—the racism behind his new prohibition on shaving profiles.

A shaving profile is a waiver letting a service member skip clean-shaving rules and grow a beard. The Department of Defense recently announced the end of permanent beard waivers, only allowing the exemption for a year.

But on Tuesday, Hegseth made his feelings clear. “No more beardos,” he said. “The era of rampant and ridiculous shaving profiles is done.”

U.S. military senior leadership at Marine Corps Base Quantico, on Sept. 30. Not a beard in sight.

There are only two reasons for it: religious exemption or medical necessity. Several religions require beards, including Islam and Sikhism, and many Orthodox Jews also wear beards because of tradition and Biblical interpretations on how to trim them.

That makes it obvious enough what’s going on here—Hegseth and MAGA are thrilled to hide anti-Muslim bigotry behind a supposedly religion-neutral policy. Less obvious is the policy’s devastating impact on Black service members.

Leftist media claims anti-trans ‘hate’ is the real issue after Charlie Kirk assassination– www.lifesitenews.com

Kirk was allegedly murdered by a sexually confused young man with a trans-identifying partner; he had also submerged himself in the vile underworld of twisted digital porn, developing a taste for “furry porn” and other perversions. Tyler Robinson, according to published text messages, allegedly chose to kill Kirk because of Kirk’s opposition to LGBT ideology, which he referred to as “hate” that could not be “negotiated with.”

Indeed, Kirk’s assassination was gleefully praised by many on the progressive Left who appeared to agree wholeheartedly with Robinson’s motivations. In the wake of mass shootings by trans-identifying killers at a Minneapolis Catholic school in August, at Covenant Christian school in Tennessee, and the recent revelation that the attempted assassin of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh identifies as transgender, a pattern is becoming clear: there are LGBT extremists who believe their own rhetoric and are willing to kill.

It was only a matter of time before we were told in a mainstream publication that the real tragedy of Charlie Kirk’s death is that people might start to notice this pattern and recognize transgender ideology and rhetoric as a destabilizing and dangerous one.

It’s unclear what commentators on the left think they achieve by labeling conservatives as Nazis, the president as Hitler, or ICE agents as kidnappers. What is clear is that such rhetoric does nothing to promote public safety. In fact, it has fueled escalating threats against those the left considers politically incorrect. That is why Acting U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli’s remarks were both timely and necessary.

According to Essayli, the left “lays out the gasoline and the matches, getting people riled up in the hope that someone will do what they want—burn the place down.”

The ironic part? The left has, in fact, burned the place down when it doesn’t get its way. Actions speak louder than words, and in this case, both their words and actions speak volumes.

According to ICE, assaults on federal officers have surged by nearly 1,000 percent. This spike can be traced directly to the left’s rhetoric.

How does the left expect people to react when they convince some voters that ICE is racially profiling and “kidnapping” people off the street? As Essayli noted, things have gotten so bad that receiving threats has become just another part of the job. In other words, just another Monday.

And the most irritating part? The left dismisses it all as nothing more than a fight for democracy against fascism. Leftist officials will not even condemn blatant acts of terrorism.

Kimmel Reinstatement Shows Media Lied About Trump Yet Again– thefederalist.com

Last week, the propaganda press assured us that self-described comedian Jimmy Kimmel was pulled off air because President Donald Trump was an authoritarian, a fascist, or tyrannical. It didn’t matter that Disney executives themselves said Kimmel was yanked because he planned to double down on false and inflammatory commentary. No, what mattered to the propaganda press was spinning the story to malign Trump.

Of course the narrative collapsed Monday when Disney announced it would bring Kimmel back on air days after he falsely stated that Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin was “MAGA.”

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” Disney said Monday afternoon in a statement. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Disney itself admitted once again that pulling Kimmel off air was merely a business decision — exactly what was reported at least four days ago. It wasn’t Trump or the FCC — if it was, Disney would not be reinstating Kimmel. But that’s not what the propaganda press told us. Instead, they deliberately misled Americans so that they could distract from their own culpability in creating a hostile environment that led to Kirk’s assassination by painting Trump as the real problem and Kimmel as the real victim.

Charlie Kirk Memorial Was a Christian Nationalist Rally– townhall.com

Let’s be honest: whenever a crucifix or Bible is whipped out, this will be the liberal media’s go-to reaction. Charlie Kirk’s memorial service was held in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday. Hundreds of thousands attended. The State Farm Stadium was packed, with the overflows just as jammed. Kirk was a man of faith. So was his wife, Erika Kirk, who has taken over Turning Point USA following her husband’s assassination at Utah Valley University on September 10.

Are we shocked that there was a religious theme here? I’m not religious and I understand that; I also don’t see ‘Christian nationalism’ every time someone quotes scripture or prays. In liberal media land, this is the new Nazism. Some of these reactions were insane:

Apple TV+’s liberal drama The Morning Show is back for its fourth season, and if the premier episode is any indication, it looks like we’re in for another woke fest, as it was filled with the usual, tiresome race-baiting, feminist, anti-masculinity and TDS garbage we’d expect.

“My Roman Empire” jumps two years ahead from season 3, taking us to 2024 before the summer Olympics in Paris. Less than ten minutes into the episode, we’re treated to a Joe Rogan-esque caricature of a masculine, conservative, white male podcaster named Bro Hartman and it’s as cringey as you can imagine:

Bro: Guys, let’s be honest. Men are facing a major mojo crisis.

Sunny: I don’t know. You seem a little fired up, Bro.

Bro: Yeah, I’m fired up, Sunny. People are asking, “Aren’t you going to Paris in ’24?” What? You don’t want in on that? Well, here’s the real deal. The first Olympics had chariot races. They competed naked and fought to the death. The games lasted six months. And when they were over, they sacrificed a f*ckton of goats and had an orgy.

Sunny: Right, so your 40th?

Bro: But now what do we have? Uh, synchronized… Excuse me, artistic swimming. Yeah. Freaking horse dancing, ping-pong, that thing with the ribbons. Come on. Where’s the danger? The stakes? Where’s the glory? But, hey, I’m trying to decenter my masculinity, checking my heteronormative bias.

Sunny: Oh, God.

The nation struggles to come to grips with this latest rash of political violence. One of these incidents involved the shooting of the lobby of ABC’s Sacramento affiliate. Shockingly, NBC was the only newscast to offer these new details.

NBC’s Liz Kreutz included the shooter update within her report on the imminent return of Jimmy Kimmel:

LIZ KREUTZ: Two days after Kimmel was pulled off the air, police say 64- year-old Anibal Hernandez Santana fired shots into an ABC station in Sacramento. Tonight, the district attorney telling NBC News investigators found anti-Trump notes in his home, and that they believe Kimmel’s suspension may have been a factor.

THIEN HO: We are still looking at and investigating the case, but he chose a very particular target, and with the notes that he left behind, I think there’s circumstantial evidence to show this is a politically motivated crime by this individual.

KREUTZ: Hernandez Santana, a retired state lobbyist, was first arrested by local police on Friday, but released on bail. The FBI then stepped in and rearrested him . His attorney says he plans to plead not guilty to the number of state and federal charges he now faces.

Former NBC News employee Chuck Todd is freaking out about Trump deciding to designate Antifa as a terrorist organization.

Speaking to former CNN employee Chris Cillizza on his podcast, Todd suggested that this move is dangerous. Cillizza agreed, naturally.

The best part, is Chuck Todd claiming that he doesn’t know what Antifa is and that there is ‘no group.’ That’s total baloney, as you’ll see if you read below.

First the clip. Partial transcript by Jason Cohen on Twitter/X:

“I don’t even know what Antifa is. I know what the definition of Antifa is. There is no group!”

“But what’s dangerous is that by designating it, who’s going to define who the group is?”

“And if the Trump administration decides to say, ‘You, George Soros, are a part of this group that I designated,’ and you’re like, ‘No, I’m not,’ and it doesn’t matter.”

Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Was Christian Nationalism’s Biggest Moment – Mother Jones– www.motherjones.com

On Sunday, a crowd of 80,000 people — plus scores more watching online — memorialized Charlie Kirk. The event, held at a State Farm Stadium, home to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, brought together the biggest names in Christian music while also featuring a predictable lineup of MAGA loyalists. There were declarations that Donald Trump was chosen by God himself to punish evildoers, capped off with a rousing speech by Trump himself that seethed in hatred for his political opponents. The event was bizarre — unless you’re acquainted with the liturgy and theology of Christian nationalism.

In many ways, this was one of Christian nationalism’s biggest and loudest days. It was clear that in Kirk, this movement had found its icon — an exemplar of their brand of nationalistic faith. In life, Kirk tried to set himself apart from the movement that’s come to define his legacy. “I’ve never described myself as a Christian nationalist,” he said during one campus debate months before his assassination. “I”m a Christian, and I’m a nationalist.” But it’s a distinction without a difference. Kirk followed his own rebuttal by citing scripture to justify a faith-infused nationalism. The memorial of his life followed a similar pattern; gesturing at scripture, and dripping in the nationalistic fervor that’s come to define modern conservative politics.

There was a sermon by Pastor Rob McCoy, which culminated in a call for people to accept Jesus as their personal savior. But what followed wasn’t a moment of solemn, lingering, prayer. Instead, the crowd was called to stand for the national anthem.

The FBI reportedly recorded Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan accepting $50,000 in cash from undercover agents who were posing as business contractors last year.

A new report from MSNBC on Saturday reveals that the agents recorded Homan, six weeks before the 2024 election, allegedly promising to assist in securing government contracts across the border security industry during Trump’s second term.

Six sources familiar with the matter told MSNBC that the FBI and justice department – then run by Joe Biden’s administration – had intended to hold off and assess whether Homan would follow through on his alleged promises after he was appointed as Trump’s border czar. However, the investigation stalled after Trump took office, and in recent weeks, officials appointed by Trump decided to close the case, according to MSNBC.

According to the sources, a justice department official who was appointed by Trump called the case a “deep state” investigation.

In a separate statement to MSNBC, the FBI director, Kash Patel, and the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, said: “This matter originated under the previous administration and was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and justice department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing.”

They added: “The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed.”

President Trump in a Truth Social post on Saturday demanded that Attorney General Pam Bondi take action against his foes, saying there could be no delay.

In the post, Trump listed Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), New York Attorney General Letitia James, and former FBI Director James Comey while complaining that “nothing is being done.”

“They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done,” Trump wrote.

He concluded the post by saying that “we can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility” and complaining that “they impeached me twice” and indicted me five times.

Asked about the post a shot time later as he left the White House for an event, Trump added “they have to act. We want to act fast.”

“You know, they were ruthless and vicious,” he added, again mentioning the two impeachment and multiple indictments.

“If they are guilty or if they should be judged, they should be judged and we have to do it now,” he said.

Trump’s remarks pressuring the Department of Justice (DOJ) to take legal actions against those he sees as his political foes is a sharp shift from traditional boundaries meant to prevent DOJ from becoming a legal, political arm of the president.

The comments underscore Trump’s frustrations in his second term with his long-time critics, and comes as the administration has signaled it has an interest in silencing voices with which it disagrees.

ABC indefinitely suspended late-night host Jimmy Kimmel days ago after pressure from the chair of the Federal Communications Commission ,and the Trump administration has signaled a crackdown on liberal groups with which it disagrees.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) showed that the president’s censorship campaign will not silence her.

CNN’s Dana Bash asked Rep. Crockett, “Do you have a responsibility as an elected official not to raise the temperature, but rather lower the temperature, particularly when there are people out there who listen to elected officials all over the place who are not well who use that as a way to instigate the political violence that you are calling out?”

The Texas Democrat replied:

I think that my responsibility is to be transparent and to be honest.

And the reality is that we are living in a time in which this administration and this regime is not interested in making sure that people understand history. We need to understand why they are so problematic. And so I am using that language because it is accurate language when we see the consolidation of power, when we see them trying to chill speech of jokesters, when we’re seeing all of this.

That is a playbook out of Hitler. And I won’t deny it. Like, these are the facts. But one of the things that I have never done that the president has done consistently is called specifically for violence. He has said, oh, beat that one up. He has said those types of things.

The conservative movement has spent the days following the shocking murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk attacking a bedrock American value: free speech.

In the most high-profile incident, the Federal Communications Commission pressured ABC parent The Walt Disney Company to sideline talk show host Jimmy Kimmel after he made a joke mocking President Donald Trump’s response to Kirk’s death. This followed CBS canceling “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” shortly after the network paid a $16 million settlement to President Donald Trump over how “60 Minutes” edited an interview with Kamala Harris.

Vice President JD Vance and senior White House aide Stephen Miller have argued that a crackdown on left-of-center groups is necessary to stop people from telling the truth about what a bigot and conspiracy theorist Kirk was.

And Fox News, the Republican Party’s de facto media arm, has joined the anti-First Amendment crusade as well.

“For all the concern about the ‘the First Amendment, the First Amendment,’ what about all the amendments that Charlie Kirk lost? Because Charlie Kirk has no amendments right now. None,” said Fox pundit and former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, exhibiting her lack of knowledge of the U.S. Constitution that has served her so well for years.

After years of bipartisan warnings about TikTok’s potential national security risks, users may soon confront a different kind of threat, perhaps even worse: an algorithm “controlled by America.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the detail on Saturday, a key aspect of the emerging agreement announced by the Trump administration last week between the United States and China. The deal could finally settle TikTok’s fate in the US following months of uncertainty with a brief ban, reversal by the Trump administration, and shifting, self-imposed deadlines for an agreement.

“There will be seven seats on the board that controls the app in the US, and six of those seats will be Americans,” Leavitt told Fox News. “The data and privacy will be led by one of America’s greatest tech companies, Oracle, and the algorithm will also be controlled by America.”

It’s unclear what exactly a US-controlled algorithm will involve. Right-wing conspiracy theories? Charlie Kirk memorials? Coupons for MAGA swag? Nor did Leavitt specify which American individuals would be involved in determining an algorithm. We also have little details on how Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, a Trump loyalist, intends to approach the responsibility for managing TikTok’s data and security while the Trump administration weaponizes everything from voting data to confidential Social Security records.

Media’s Appeal To ‘Free Speech’ Over Jimmy Kimmel Is Fake– thefederalist.com

Panel after panel Wednesday night on CNN pretended to have a debate over “free speech,” with every anchor and Democrat talking head asking whichever present right-winger or Republican guest why the principle didn’t apply to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel. Yeah, going forward, they can miss me with the “free speech” and other appeals to American principles that I and everyone else know they only fake concern for when their money and power are threatened.

ABC announced Wednesday evening it was yanking Kimmel’s late-night talk therapy sessions — known by some as Jimmy Kimmel Live! — for an indefinite period from the airwaves. That move came after Kimmel delivered what he intended to be a comedic monologue centered on the public execution of Charlie Kirk, an innocent man, less than a week prior. It also came after, as Democrats on CNN hysterically repeated over and over, the Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr said on a podcast in relation to that monologue that TV stations relying on broadcast licenses should recommit themselves to the public interest, as required by existing law, or otherwise potentially face government action.

Because Carr, a Trump appointee, suggested his agencies might do their job and ensure compliance with public broadcasting rules, Democrats are calling the Kimmel suspension a violation of the First Amendment. There’s no reason to take them seriously for it. That party has done nothing in the past five years to hint it cares about the Bill of Rights or any other American ideal. They don’t. It’s the opposite.

An NBC news report said the military planned to invoke the activist’s memory to recruit a ‘generation of warriors’.

US network NBC first reported the news on Thursday, citing two officials familiar with the matter, but a Pentagon spokesperson quickly dispelled the report to Fox News.

NBC said the Pentagon was debating slogans such as “Charlie has awakened a generation of warriors” as part of its campaign drive, although Kirk himself was not a military veteran.

The military also hoped to work with Kirk’s political organisation, Turning Point USA, as part of its recruitment drive, the story said.

Turning Point was credited with helping US President Donald Trump win at the polls in 2024 through its work with young voters on high school and university campuses.

“This is not happening,” Pentagon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson told Fox News later on Thursday.

Wilson blasted NBC for using anonymous sources to publish “false claims” that were “100 percent wrong”, according to the Fox News report.

The two unnamed Pentagon officials in the NBC report said the recruitment plan had been met with resistance from “some Pentagon leaders” who feared they would be seen as capitalising on Kirk’s murder.

It was exactly 11 years ago that I first joined a protest in support of Palestine. In 2014, tens of thousands of ordinary people took to the streets of London to protest the Gaza War – a 50-day conflict during which 2,251 Palestinians, including 1,462 civilians and 551 children, as well as 66 Israeli soldiers and five civilians, including one child, were killed (per the UN).

Where many might not remember the 2014 conflict, few can escape the current horror in Gaza. Since the Hamas attack on Israel, on October 7th 2023, the Israeli military response has killed nearly 65,000 Palestinians (per the Palestinian Ministry of Health), although real figures could be much higher. Many human rights organisations, charities and genocide scholars have described the situation as a genocide.

But while there were politicians such as Diane Abbott speaking out at that first rally I attended back in 2014, many celebrities stayed silent. Those who did show support, such as Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Selena Gomez and Rihanna, were lambasted or ordered to backtrack by industry peers. Speaking out against the injustices in Palestine has always come at a price, but finally, more and more artists are stepping away from silence.

Democrats opened investigations, filed motions to subpoena and demanded the resignation of the Federal Communications Commission chair Thursday — a response to the suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel that represented unusually swift pushback from a party struggling to find its footing.

But it’s not clear how Democrats will translate this relatively united front into an electoral strategy, as the party remains divided over how and how much to talk about threats to democracy ahead of next year’s pivotal midterm elections.

That tension began playing out in their descriptions of Kimmel’s suspension, as some Democrats urged their party to retool its messaging.

At a press conference on Capitol Hill to announce legislation to protect free speech, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) attacked President Donald Trump for “trying to destroy our democracy” and acting like “many would-be despots.” Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) cautioned “fascism is not on the way, it is here.” But Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow, who is running for the U.S. Senate in a high-profile primary, warned that language may be “too abstract for people” and urged Democrats to “distill it down to something people get in their everyday life.”

“This is what we saw in 2024: When you talk about ‘fascism’ and ‘democracy’ and ‘oligarchy,’ it’s too big a concept,” McMorrow said. “People are so overwhelmed and when it’s too big, people just wonder, ‘well, what can I possibly do about it?’”
