A new poll has found that if the New York City mayoral race was between just socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani and former Governor Andrew Cuomo, the independent candidate comes within striking distance of Mamdani.
The Gotham Polling/AARP poll found that if Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa dropped out of the race, 44.6 percent of New Yorkers would vote for Mamdani, while 40.7 percent would vote for Cuomo, putting the former New York head within the margin of error of four points. The poll surveyed 1,040 likely voters over two days last week.
As national discussion surrounding political violence has intensified, Democrats are continuing to endorse a candidate who admitted to sending text messages calling for the death of a Republican opponent and his family. Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) is the latest Democrat official to double down on supporting Democratic nominee for Attorney General of Virginia Jay Jones, despite the candidate’s violent rhetoric.
Kaine has repeatedly refused to withdraw his endorsement for Jones’s campaign, insisting, “I’m still supporting Jay Jones.” In an interview Sunday, the senator was asked if his position was hypocritical and whether or not he would insist that a hypothetical Republican who made similar violent comments should retire his campaign.
Duke math professor Jonathan Mattingly conducted an analysis to discover if a new Trump-supported congressional map in North Carolina would result in the Republican Party locking in additional seats. The answer, he uncovered, is a resounding yes.

Now we’re learning Mamdani’s imam pal, Siraj Wahhaj, is also anti-gay.
The Passaic County Board of Elections is under fire — and possibly heading to court — after rejecting a push from local Republicans to beef up ballot security and speed up vote counting ahead of the November 4 general election.
The Passaic County Republican Organization had called for tighter oversight of ballots, including installing security cameras inside ballot storage rooms, setting up a two-party lock system to control access, and posting a sheriff’s officer on-site 24 hours a day for added protection.
GOP officials also demanded the county start opening and canvassing mail-in ballots five days before Election Day, a procedure they say is already being used successfully in other New Jersey counties.
Vice President J.D. Vance has held onto a narrow lead over Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom in a new hypothetical poll of the 2028 presidential race.
The poll, conducted by Emerson College, shows that 46 percent of participants would support Vance, 45 percent would vote for Newsom, and 10 percent were undecided.
Neither of the lawmakers have formally announced a bid for president, but are currently seen as their parties’ likely frontrunners in the next presidential race.
Eric Trump warned that former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has no shot at defeating Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayoral race if Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa remains in the contest.
Appearing Tuesday on Fox News’s America Reports, the president’s son said Sliwa’s refusal to exit the race would divide the anti-Mamdani vote and ensure a left-wing victory in November.
“Can Cuomo pull off victory if Sliwa is still in the race?” host Sandra Smith asked Trump.
“No, of course not,” Trump replied. “That’s why the New York Post, that’s why one of your own companies [referring to the fact that News Corp, which owns the New York Post, and Fox Corporation are both owned by the Murdoch family] is strongly encouraging him to get out of the race.”

Virginia GOP gubernatorial nominee Winsome Earle-Sears swiftly condemned those tied to a Young Republicans group chat scandal—and now she’s calling on her opponent, Democrat Abigail Spanberger, to do the same with regard to her own running mate, attorney general nominee Jay Jones.
In a press release issued Wednesday, the Democratic Party of Virginia said Earle-Sears “must call on participants of a leaked Young Republicans chat that used racist language to step down from their roles joining Virginia Young Republican Thomas Turner”—something the lieutenant governor had no problem doing.
“Easy,” she replied, “they absolutely must step down.”
The Gateway Pundit reported that far-left New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) was blocked from walking with her graduating class at the US Naval Academy (USNA) after being caught up in a cheating scandal.
According to records obtained by The New Jersey Globe, Sherrill’s name “was not included on the commencement program” during the May 25, 1994, ceremony.
Despite the USNA’s honor code, the congresswoman said she was barred because she would not “rat out” classmates involved in the scandal.

In the race for attorney general, however, the Democrat, Jay Jones, is far behind incumbent Jason Miyares, 43.1 to 48.9 percent, respectively.
