The Trump Administration is expected to halt all student visa interviews and will expand its social media vetting, according to a State Department cable obtained by Politico.

The Trump Administration is escalating its fight against anti-American universities such as Harvard.

Politico reported:

The Trump administration is weighing requiring all foreign students applying to study in the United States to undergo social media vetting — a significant expansion of previous such efforts, according to a cable obtained by POLITICO.

In preparation for such required vetting, the administration is ordering U.S. embassies and consular sections to pause scheduling new interviews for such student visa applicants, according to the cable, dated Tuesday and signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

If the administration carries out the plan, it could severely slow down student visa processing. It also could hurt many universities who rely heavily on foreign students to boost their financial coffers.

“Effective immediately, in preparation for an expansion of required social media screening and vetting, consular sections should not add any additional student or exchange visitor (F, M, and J) visa appointment capacity until further guidance is issued septel, which we anticipate in the coming days,” the cable states. (“Septel” is State Department shorthand for “separate telegram.”)

Despite national efforts to make biology a reality again, many states, including California, have not received that memo. This is why Trump said what needed to be said.

Trump has threatened to cut federal funding to the Golden State if officials don’t get their act together and make sports sane again, as a trans track athlete has been allowed to dominate the women’s division and plans to attend CIF finals this weekend.

High school junior AB Hernandez is a trans track athlete. Or, in other words, he’s a man. It’s unclear if he would have been capable of fairly competing against those with the same chromosomes as him, but you do the math. Nonetheless, she (he) had previously vowed to stick to the haters by stealing titles away from girls who had dedicated so much time to the sport. He has since made good on that promise with the help of state athletic officials, who have turned a blind eye to the integrity of the game.

This was all done despite national efforts to make gender great again, which is why Trump is now threatening to cut federal funds from the state if they don’t do what is morally and biologically correct.

According to the New York Post:

Trump also warned that he will order “local authorities, if necessary, to not allow” a transgender athlete to compete in the state finals this weekend. The threat comes ahead of a planned phone call with Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

“California, under the leadership of Radical Left Democrat Gavin Newscum, continues to ILLEGALLY allow ‘MEN TO PLAY IN WOMEN’S SPORTS,’” Trump grumbled on Truth Social Tuesday.

“THIS IS NOT FAIR, AND TOTALLY DEMEANING TO WOMEN AND GIRLS. Please be hereby advised that large scale Federal Funding will be held back, maybe permanently, if the Executive Order on this subject matter is not adhered to.”

On May 20, the Supreme Court granted Maine Rep. Laurel Libby’s application for an injunction pending appeal, which means she will again be allowed to vote in the Maine legislature as her case proceeds.

In February, a male athlete identifying as female won the Maine state championship in girls’ pole vaulting. Libby posted on social media that the athlete had previously competed in the male division and placed fifth.

Libby stated that it was unfair for male athletes to compete against females due to their intrinsic athletic advantages.

House Speaker Ryan Fecteau asked Libby to remove the post, but she refused, saying, “I won’t apologize for speaking the truth and defending our women and girls in Maine that are being discriminated against.”

She was then censured, with a resolution passing by a 75-70 party-line vote to remove both her right to vote and right to speak in the Maine House of Representatives.

Former Dept. of Ed. official praises action to ensure federal funding helps American students in need, not illegal immigrants

A visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation praised the U.S. Department of Education’s decision to revoke waivers from California and Oregon universities which allowed them to use federal education funds to assist illegal immigrant college students.

The purpose of the Performance Partnership Pilots for Disconnected Youth program is to help students with disabilities and low-income students obtain a college education. However, the Biden administration allowed universities in California and Oregon to divert the funds to illegal immigrants, according to a department news release. Under the previous administration, TRIO programs could extend benefits to “illegal aliens.”

The waives have since been revoked, drawing praise from Adam Kissel, a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation and former deputy assistant for higher education programs in the first Trump administration.

“President Biden’s Department of Education was extremely lawless,” Kissel told The College Fix via email. “The current administration is bringing the rule of law back to federal education policy and programs.”

Private universities with large endowments are fretting over a provision in the House-passed “big, beautiful” bill that would significantly raise the tax rate on their annual investment income.

House Republicans’ proposal would raise the tax rate on certain universities’ endowment profits from 1.4% to 21%, a move that could add hundreds of millions of dollars to their annual tax liability. Universities whose massive endowments provide billions of dollars of wealth at their disposal are warning that failure to strike the proposal from President Donald Trump’s sweeping tax and spending package would deal a “devastating” blow to their operating budgets. (RELATED: House Republicans Put Ivy League’s Massive Endowments On Chopping Block)

“This is a devastating piece of legislation for us,” Swarthmore College vice president for finance and administration Robert Goldberg told the Wall Street Journal. “It takes something that’s fairly manageable to something that’s not tenable.”

GOP lawmakers have defended placing colleges’ endowments in their crosshairs, arguing that universities are no longer fulfilling their core mission and instead operate more like hedge funds rather than prioritizing the education of students. Additionally, congressional Republicans allege that many of the universities that would be subject to a higher tax on their endowment earnings allowed antisemitism to fester on their campuses during the Biden administration.

President Trump’s Department of Justice has filed a federal lawsuit against Troy, Idaho’s far-left leadership, accusing them of deliberately targeting a Christian congregation simply for holding worship services.

The lawsuit, United States v. City of Troy, delivers a blistering rebuke of local officials who weaponized zoning laws to shut down Christ Church, a growing evangelical congregation based in nearby Moscow, Idaho.

Trump’s DOJ alleges that city leaders engaged in blatant discrimination, suppressing the church’s right to assemble while letting secular groups operate freely in the exact same zone.

Christ Church, unable to accommodate its growing congregation in Moscow, looked to expand into Troy.

They attempted to rent a vacant downtown bank building for Sunday services—a common-sense solution, considering it had sat empty for over a year and offered plenty of street parking.

This week Petr Bystron spoke to the EU Parliament about the greatness of President Donald Trump’s popular agenda to “Make America Great Again.”

EU Parliamentarian Petr Bystron from Germany: Dear colleagues, “Make America Great Again,” is clearly a challenge to the world, to the EU, to Europe. Why? The American president looks after Americans. Surprisem Surprise! He wants jobs in the United States. He wants prosperity to return to the United States. He aims to bring industry back to the United States.

And what do I hear here? Trump, Trump, Trump! One man is enough to throw the European Union and Parliament into chaos!

President Trump’s Education Department has just rescinded an onerous fine unjustly imposed by the Biden administration on a Christian university.

On May 16, Grand Canyon University announced, “The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has rescinded a $37.7 million fine, with prejudice, that was proposed against Grand Canyon University, clearing the university of any wrongdoing.” Many suspected the university was being targeted by the Biden administration not because of any major wrongdoing but because of its Christian affiliation, and that appears to have been a fair assessment.

The case dismissal from ED stated that “there are no findings against GCU, or any of its employees, officers, agents, or contractors, and no fine is imposed.” Despite Biden administration allegations, the Trump ED found that GCU did not violate any Title IV requirements, rejecting the assertion that GCU “substantially misrepresented” the prices of its doctoral programs.

GCU President Brian Mueller said, “The facts clearly support our contention that we were wrongly accused of misleading our Doctoral students and we appreciate the recognition that those accusations were without merit.”

Journalism scholarship only open to African Americans; history scholarship gives preference to ‘minority’ students

Middle Tennessee State University is facing a federal civil rights complaint alleging it offers 17 scholarships that “discriminate based on race, color, and/or national origin.”

One example cited in the complaint is the Whitney Stegall scholarship, which states, “Preference will be given to students who are African-American or Native- American.”

“Racial and ethnic discrimination are wrong and unlawful no matter which race or ethnicity is targeted or benefits,” William Jacobson, founder of the Equal Protection Project, told The College Fix.

“All applicants are entitled to equal treatment without regard to race, color, or national origin,” the Cornell University law professor said in a recent interview.

The Equal Protection Project, which is part of the Legal Insurrection Foundation, filed the complaint earlier this month. EPP’s mission is to pursue “fair treatment of all persons without regard to race or ethnicity.”

When contacted by The Fix about the complaint, the university media relations office declined to comment.

The state of California has agreed to allow families to use public special education funds for tuition at religious schools, following a legal settlement reached after years of litigation.

The decision marks a significant policy change and aligns the state’s regulations with recent federal court rulings affirming religious rights under the First Amendment.

The settlement stems from a lawsuit filed by Orthodox Jewish families who challenged the state’s long-standing rule that barred the use of publicly funded special education services at religious institutions. Plaintiffs argued that the policy, which required private schools receiving such funding to be nonsectarian, unfairly excluded religious families and violated their constitutional rights.

In the case of Loffman v. California Department of Education, a group of Jewish parents and religious schools challenged the exclusion, arguing that it violated constitutional protections against religious discrimination.

The Supreme Court granted President Donald Trump a stay on an order forcing him to reinstate to reinstate Cathy Harris of the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) and Gwynne Wilcox of National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) as the two women fight for their jobs in the courts.

The vote went 6-3. SCOTUS wrote:

The stay reflects our judgment that the Government is likely to show that both the NLRB and MSPB exercise considerable executive power. But we do not ultimately decide in this posture whether the NLRB or MSPB falls within such a recognized exception; that question is better left for resolution after full briefing and argument. The stay also reflects our judgment that the Government faces greater risk of harm from an order allowing a removed officer to continue exercising the executive power than a wrongfully removed officer faces from being unable to perform her statutory duty.

A stay is appropriate to avoid the disruptive effect of the repeated removal and reinstatement of officers during the pendency of this litigation.

A bill to add “an understanding of communist regimes and ideologies” to the Texas social studies curriculum passed in the state’s legislature Wednesday. It now heads to Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R-TX) desk to be signed into law.

It passed in the House 112-20 on Wednesday, after passing in the Senate in March. If the bill is signed into law, the Texas State Board of Education will revise its Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills curriculum for grades 4-12 beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

Texas Senate Bill 24 was authored by Texas state Sen. Donna Campbell, and highly regarded by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who said the prioritization of the curriculum amendment was necessary “so history does not repeat itself.”

While Patrick’s statement when the bill was passed in the Texas Senate in March labeled it as bipartisan, several democratic lawmakers, such as state Reps. Vikki Goodwin and Jon Rosenthal, tried to get the bill amended to include the dangers of fascism, specifically Nazism, as well.

Republican Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo had previously stated that he would veto any assisted suicide legislation if it passed the senate, according to Breitbart. Lombardo vetoed a similar proposal in 2023.

Assembly Bill 346 would have allowed adults with a prognosis of six months or less to live to end their lives with a prescription from a doctor or nurse practitioner. The bill also stipulated that the adults must be “mentally capable” to make the decision.

House Republicans delivered on their promise to defund Big Abortion on Thursday by passing the budget reconciliation bill that has consumed Washington’s attention for the past three months.

In the bill, the House GOP removed Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortions in the country. The effort had been supported by dozens of pro-life legislators from around the country.

The move is a monumental win for pro-lifers because Planned Parenthood receives more than one-third of its overall funding from the U.S. government through grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements. That translates to about $2 million per day, which taxpayers are on the hook for. Furthermore, taxpayer funding for the organization has been on an upward trajectory for about the past dozen years, having increased by 50% since 2013.

But the House reconciliation bill halts that trend by ending the flow of Medicaid dollars to Planned Parenthood, except in abortion cases for rape or incest. Planned Parenthood is also a major provider of hormones for so-called transgender transitions in the country, which means defunding it is also combating the organization’s efforts in that regard as well.

President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice is launching a criminal investigation into former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, accused of lying about his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington opened the inquiry into Cuomo close to a month ago after senior officials in the DOJ called for the corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams to be dismissed, The New York Times reported.

The inquiry followed a call from Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, to prosecute Cuomo over statements he made to the committee investigating his management of the pandemic when the virus was running rampant in nursing homes.

In accordance with a Cuomo directive, more than 9,000 recovering COVID-19 patients were released from hospitals into nursing homes in New York state.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio didn’t just show up to Tuesday’s Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing; he came loaded for bear. Ostensibly there to discuss the FY26 State Department budget, Rubio instead delivered a scathing indictment of China’s global con game and exposed shocking failures in America’s foreign aid system. What unfolded wasn’t routine testimony; it was a political thunderclap and a long-overdue reckoning.

As I’m sure you recall, Democrats have been having hissy fits over USAID cuts. They claim that the Trump administration was axing vital humanitarian aid when in reality, it was targeting waste, fraud, and abuse.

Just how bad is the waste, fraud, and abuse? Rubio revealed that under the old USAID model, only 12 cents of every dollar made it to the intended recipients. “That means that in order for us to get, you know, aid to somebody, we had to spend all this other money supporting this foreign aid industrial complex,” he said. In other words, U.S. taxpayers were funding bloated overhead while struggling nations got table scraps.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the creation of a special review panel on Tuesday to investigate the Biden administration’s “chaotic” 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.

“President Trump and I have formally pledged full transparency for what transpired during our military withdrawal from Afghanistan. The Department of Defense has an obligation, both to the American people and to the warfighters who sacrificed their youth in Afghanistan, to get to the facts,” Hegseth wrote in an agency memo released on Tuesday.

In his directive, Hegseth disclosed that the Defense Department has been conducting “a review” throughout the past three months of what the secretary described as a “catastrophic event in our military’s history.” Based on the probe’s findings, Hegseth “concluded that we need to conduct a comprehensive review to ensure that accountability for this event is met and that the complete picture is provided to the American people.”

The memo tasks Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and Senior Advisor Sean Parnell to “convene a Special Review Panel (SRP) for the Department who will thoroughly examine previous investigations.” As noted in a Defense Department press release, Parnell spent 485 days stationed in Afghanistan and was “wounded in action” along with many of his fellow soldiers.

The U.S. Army is moving toward its aim of separating transgender soldiers from the service with its new guidance that deems tranny soldiers as “undeployable” and therefore, useless to the service.

The Army is ramping up its efforts to dump soldiers with gender dysphoria because it has been determined that the condition is medically incompatible with military service. Pursuant to that, the Pentagon has released a series of memos directing the services to identify and remove them — whether voluntarily on not.

The new directives are in compliance with Commander In Chief Donald Trump’s 2025 executive order requiring the separation of tranny soldiers.

Per Gateway Pundit:

On February 26, 2025, the Department of Defense issued a memorandum titled “Additional Guidance on Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness,” formally disqualifying individuals with a current diagnosis, history, or symptoms of gender dysphoria from military service. The policy states that such conditions are incompatible with readiness, cohesion, lethality, and integrity, and affirms that all personnel must meet standards without special accommodations.

Under Executive Order 14168, the Department of Defense defines sex as an immutable biological classification, male or female, and requires all service members to serve in accordance with their sex. This designation now governs compliance with military standards, including physical fitness, grooming, uniforms, and access to bathrooms, showers, and berthing.

WASHINGTON—The Federal Trade Commission is setting its sights on the industry pushing transgender medical procedures on minors, documents show a potential major step in the Trump administration;s efforts to crack down on radical gender ideology.

The FTC, an agency tasked with protecting American consumers, will hold a day-long workshop in July on transgender surgeries, hormones, and puberty blockers, according to an internal memo. That;s a likely indicator of the agency’s intentions: the FTC often holds such events before initiating legal action against an industry to gain information, gather evidence, and solicit the input of affected Americans.

“Under the Federal Trade Commission Act, the FTC is provided broad authority to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive trade acts and practices,” the memo reads. “There is now considerable reason to believe that the doctors and medical providers pushing [gender-affirming care] on minors are knowingly deceiving parents by exaggerating [gender-affirming care’s] ‘benefits’ and downplaying its harmful side effects.”

The Trump-appointed chairman of the FTC, Andrew Ferguson, reportedly pitched the president on using the agency to fight “against the trans agenda” before he was selected for the post, according to a document.

Ferguson believed the FTC could “investigate the doctors, therapists, hospitals, and others who deceptively pushed gender confusion, puberty blockers, hormone replacement, and sex-change surgeries on children and adults while failing to disclose strong evidence that such interventions are not helpful and carry enormous risks,” Punchbowl reported.

The U.S. Department of Justice has intervened in a legal dispute to support Grace New England Church, a small congregation led by Pastor Howard Kaloogian in Weare, New Hampshire.

The church has gathered for worship on Pastor Kaloogian’s five-acre property every Saturday for several years, using a renovated barn that the pastor has also offered to the community for a variety of secular events, including political rallies, backgammon tournaments, and weddings.

The government has never had an issue with any gathering held anywhere in town or on Pastor Kaloogian’s private property — until a Weare zoning enforcement official named Tony Sawyer saw a promotional flyer for Grace New England Church’s Saturday worship event. Sawyer then went, uninvited, to Pastor Kaloogian’s house and informed him that he would have to complete a site plan application and a conditional-use permit in order to continue holding religious assemblies on his private property.

The town has since delayed permit applications, subjected the pastor to repeated inspections of his home, and threatened to fine him.

As the U.S. Supreme Court considers whether parents have the right to opt their children out of reading books that promote gender ideology, a federal district court told a California school district that it cannot force children to read such books without parental notice and the opportunity to opt out.

The case centers on La Costa Heights Elementary School, located in the Encinitas School District near San Diego. The school runs a mandatory “buddy program” in which 5th grade students mentor kindergarteners.

Traditionally, this program involved art projects, gardening, and reading sessions — with books selected by the students themselves. Each week, parents received a newsletter detailing which book was being read in class.

The process changed when teachers selected My Shadow is Pink, a book promoting gender ideology. That week, no notice was sent to parents.

The book tells the story of a boy who enjoys wearing dresses and playing with toys typically associated with girls. Because he doesn’t “fit in,” his shadow is pink instead of blue. The central conflict revolves around his father’s initial discomfort and eventual embrace of his son’s pink shadow as not a phase but as a reflection of his “inner-most self.” By the end, the father joins his son and wears a dress.
