Trump has endorsed about half a dozen candidates across the globe since he returned to the White House in early 2025 and even boasted earlier this year that he has “a very good record of endorsing candidates in the U.S.,” before touting a number of foreign candidates he backed.

“I’m not supposed to be endorsing people,” Trump said during the February inaugural meeting of his Board of Peace. “As long as it works, it’s OK with me.”

A man who decapitated his wife and paraded through the streets clutching her severed head received a sentence of just eight years in an Iranian prison.

He avoided a more severe punishment after her parents reportedly chose not to invoke Iran’s Islamic law of retribution.

Mona Heydari, a mother of one, was only 17 when she was dragged from a car outside her family home and murdered in February 2022, according to court documents.

Her husband Sajjad Heydari, together with his brother Heydar, carried out the savage killing in Ahvaz, the capital of the south-western Khuzestan Province.

A judiciary spokesman disclosed that the lenient sentence was imposed because Mona’s parents had “pardoned” him for the killing rather than seeking retribution.

Mona, who had been married off at just 12, had initially fled her abusive husband and escaped to Turkey with another man, the court was told.

Heydari had reportedly refused Mona’s requests for a divorce.

We’re going beyond Ohio here, Dave. Texas, North Carolina, obviously states that Trump himself won easily two years ago, now leaning Dem.

I guess the bottom line is, when you look at all of this, does Trump have a chance at this point still to hold on to the House?

WASSERMAN: Not realistically. This is a question of how high this blue wave is going to go and how many Republican seats get swept up. And we’re looking at shocking polling numbers for Republicans, not only in districts that Trump carried by five or 10, but 15 or 20 points.

And I think to the extent there are going to be surprises on November 3rd, I’d look to places with high numbers of secular white voters and also independents. And that points to the Midwest, Iowa, Ohio. Kansas, Nebraska, more so than the Deep South, where things are more racially polarized and it’s more difficult for Democrats to win on turnout alone.

And on a really strong night for Democrats, it’s easy to see how they could exceed the total number of seats they won in 2006 and 2018, given that President Trump’s approval rating today is lower than where it was eight years ago and where George W. Bush’s approval rating was amid the Iraq war. This could get to 235 seats or more.
