Republicans understand this — that’s why they funded the agency through 2029 during the first reconciliation.
With TSA agents quitting due to lack of paychecks, the Democrats believe hurting regular people to get their way will work. We’re dealing with legislative terrorists. I was hesitant about ending the filibuster, but I am now leaning entirely toward it because Democrats want unrealistic concessions, and shutting down DHS over deportation disputes isn’t a valid argument.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is doubling down on protecting illegal immigrants from federal immigration enforcement just days after the killing of 18-year-old college student Sheridan Gorman, for which an illegal immigrant from Venezuela is in custody.
On Wednesday, Johnson unveiled a city snowplow named “Abolish ICE” and addressed reporters about the city’s ongoing efforts to push back against the Trump administration’s efforts to apprehend and deport illegal immigrants, particularly those who have committed violent crimes.
“This name derives from our city’s legacy of standing up for justice, dignity, and the rights of all people, no matter where they come from,” Johnson said as he stood in front of the vehicle. “I want to take this moment to reiterate that Chicago does not want ICE on our streets, in our airports, nor in our city. Chicago believes in abolishing ICE.”
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is currently experiencing the longest wait times in the history of the United States as the ongoing Democrat-led shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) drags through day 40.
As of March 25, the shutdown stands as the second longest in U.S. history when partial and full shutdowns are considered together, second only to last year’s Democrat-led full government shutdown.
The impasse centers on appropriations for DHS agencies, including the TSA. Senate Democrats have blocked multiple attempts to advance full-year funding bills for the department, which would include operations for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection.
After a yearslong legal battle, the Supreme Court vindicated a Colorado Christian baker hounded by a “Civil Rights Commission” for the sin of refusing to craft a custom cake to celebrate a same-sex wedding. A woman by the name of Kristen Clarke found that ruling “devastating.”
Clarke, who would go on to lead the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division under President Joe Biden, arguably grew to embody the weaponization of civil rights law against conservatives. Yet on Wednesday, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People hailed Clarke as a “civil rights giant” in announcing her new position as NAACP general counsel.
The Senate confirmed an experienced federal prosecutor, Colin McDonald, Tuesday afternoon to act as the Justice Department’s anti-fraud division lead.

The House Ethics Committee will host a public trial for Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-Fla.) on Thursday in connection with the allegations. According to reports, such public trials are rare and signal that Cherfilus-McCormick may be in deep trouble.
The defendants ‘conspired to steal that $5 million and routed it through multiple accounts to disguise its source,’ the DOJ alleged.
Indeed, she is already under federal indictment.
Back in November, the Department of Justice announced that Cherfilus-McCormick, her brother Edwin Cherfilus, and other co-defendants had been charged after they allegedly bilked millions from a FEMA-funded COVID-19 vaccination staffing contract.
Republican House Oversight Committee members announced that the committee had launched an investigation into claims of hospice fraud in California.
“Despite clear red flags, it appears California leaders have enabled hospice providers to DEFRAUD hardworking American taxpayers,” Chairman James Comer wrote on X. “The House Oversight Committee is moving to protect taxpayer funds from waste, fraud, and abuse.”
The outrage started in January when Dr. Mehmet Oz, the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), said California owed over $1 billion in Medicaid funds improperly used for health care for illegal aliens.

The problem with crime committed by illegal aliens is that it is 100% preventable. Far too many Americans have tragically lost their lives because the left refuses to admit that borders are, in fact, morally and legally permissible. 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed in the early hours of Friday morning when she was out with her friends near Tobey Prinz Beach Park in Chicago. The suspect in that killing is an illegal immigrant from Venezuela Jose Medina, 25, who was released into the country under the Biden administration and was further caught and released after a shoplifting arrest.
House Republicans have launched a formal investigation into rampant hospice fraud in California, focusing on Southern California and Los Angeles County. The probe, led by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, comes after investigations by CBS News, independent journalist Nick Shirley and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz identified potentially billions in fraud earlier this month.
The CBS News analysis of Los Angeles County hospice records found that over 700 of nearly 1,800 hospices triggered multiple red flags for fraud as defined by a 2022 state audit. The red flags included excessive billing—$29,000 per patient on average in LA County, more than double the national average of $13,200—and suspicious patterns like multiple providers sharing the same address or staff.

Mail from Sacramento, California was sent to students at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, arguing that “MAGA Republicans” are sabotaging elections. On the mail is a QR code providing ways in which students can support Democrat-backed redistricting.
A recent Instagram post by Libs of TikTok depicted the pamphlet, which asks student voters to “Vote YES! for fair elections,” before the April 21 election.

Democrat Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker refuses to say whether he will honor an ICE detainer request for an illegal alien accused of killing an 18-year-old college student.
Loyola University freshman Sheridan Gorman was walking in a park on Thursday morning around 1:00 a.m., to “catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights” when Medina-Medina allegedly approached her. Gorman “attempted to flee,” but Medina-Medina allegedly shot her in the head. Gorman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to local reports and the Department of Homeland Security.
ICE has “lodged an arrest detainer asking sanctuary politicians to not release” Medina-Medina, DHS said. But Pritzker’s office refuses to say whether he will honor the detainer request for the alleged murderer.
“Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and Loyola University community grieving the senseless murder of Sheridan Gorman,” a representative for Pritzker’s office told The Federalist when asked whether Pritzker would honor the ICE detainer request for Jose Medina-Medina.

James Talarico may have won the Democratic primary for Senate in Texas based on electability, but that’s only relative to his competition, U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett.
In the past few weeks, Talarico — a state representative, former teacher, and Presbyterian seminarian — has had his past statements prove just how marginal the relative electability advantage really was.
In the latest of a trove of opposition research that’s gone over well with the left but will get played from now until Election Day for normal Texans, Talarico said that not only did he think positively of the illegal immigrant students he taught, but they were actually more American than Americans.
“Before I was a politician, I was a public school teacher in San Antonio, Texas, on the west side of the city, and I taught a lot of undocumented students, and those students tended to be my most patriotic students,” Talarico said in an interview last week.
“They understood something about this country that a lot of us who are native-born forget: that this is supposed to be the land of opportunity,” he continued.
