After Karmelo Anthony was convicted of murdering Austin Metcalf, his parents are making their interview rounds — and BlazeTV host Jason Whitlock believes what they’re saying is completely “delusional.”

“My son is no murderer. My son didn’t intend to hurt anyone. My son was defending himself, and that’s what hurts so bad,” Anthony’s mother said in an interview on CBS News Texas.

Anthony told the interviewer that she asked the jury to “have mercy” on her son but that she knew “they had their minds made up already.”

The grieving father of a white teen murdered by a black teen is actually to blame for his death, according to a Howard University professor.

Last week, a Texas jury found Karmelo Anthony guilty of murder after he stabbed Austin Metcalf in the heart during a confrontation in April 2025 at a track meet. Anthony argued he acted out of self-defense after Metcalf pushed him during an argument under a tent.

Coming to Anthony’s defense is Professor Stacey Patton, who teaches journalism at Howard University. Patton has previously suggested Charlie Kirk “paid” the “price” for supporting gun rights. She also previously defended riots in Baltimore and suggested racial jokes by comedians can be to blame for the killings of black people.

Patton, in a long post on her Substack page, blamed Jeff Metcalf, the father of the murdered teen, for the death, saying he was a “failure.”

Last week in Frisco, Texas, 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison. No one in the jury believed his claim of self-defense and instead found that Anthony provoked a confrontation with student Austin Metcalf by going into his school’s tent during a track meet, taunting the students there, refusing to leave despite repeated requests, and finally plunging a knife into Austin’s heart after being nudged.

It remains a mystery why exactly Anthony did this, which might explain why so many people even entertained his claim of self-defense. But the facts of the case show that Anthony apparently had no other reason to kill Metcalf than pure malice and aggression.

One could go further and ask why Anthony harbored these violent impulses in the first place. He lived in Frisco, an affluent, family-friendly suburb with good schools. He had two parents at home to take care of him. He played sports and had plenty of friends. He was a month away from graduating and could have done anything. So why throw it away?

Karmelo Anthony has been convicted of murder for the deadly stabbing of Austin Metcalf, 17, which happened at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, in 2025. The case drew national attention because Anthony is black and Metcalf is white. Some of the reactions were extreme, though not everyone shared that view, as we often see from liberals regarding anything Trump does. Several black commentators rightfully pointed out that Anthony murdered the kid and received what he deserved in court. He was sentenced to 35 years, with the possibility of parole after 17. He has filed an appeal, but there’s a problem: he has no money for a lawyer (via NY Post):

Karmelo Anthony has been convicted of first-degree murder for the stabbing death of Austin Metcalf. Both were young men in high school at the time of the murder. Anthony’s conviction has triggered calls from progressives and black activists that the jury was racist, the parents of the dead boy are racist, and Karmelo should be free to spend his hundreds of thousands of GoFundMe dollars.

CBS News failed to correct a false claim that Karmelo Anthony, the black teenager who was convicted of murdering white teen Austin Metcalf at a track meet in Frisco, Texas, was convicted by an “all-white jury” during an interview with Anthony’s family.

While speaking with the outlet after the verdict, Anthony’s father, Andrew Anthony, stated that what stood out to him was “the all-white jury.”

Court records and reporting indicate that the final 12-person jury included no black members. The final panel of 18 (including six alternates) had greater diversity, however, with courtroom reporters noting minorities such as Asian and Indian individuals among the jurors and alternates.

Ever since 19-year-old Karmello Anthony was convicted on Tuesday in the murder of a teenager last year, his supporters have been forced to go to extremes to find ways not to blame the killer for the crime.

They’ve blamed “white supremacy” for the prosecution — Anthony is black, his victim was white. They’ve blamed racism among prosecutors for keeping blacks off the jury.

And on Wednesday, his father put the blame, at least in part, on his son’s “white attorney” for the fact that Karmelo is going to prison.

Media personality Mimi Brown — a fixture on the black-oriented radio program “The Breakfast Club” — spoke to Anthony’s parents, Kayla Hayes and Andrew Anthony, during an interview Wednesday.

At one point, she asked the two, “So, do you believe your son received a fair trial?”

Both replied, “absolutely not” and Hayes promised to “keep fighting.” Brown also asked if the two would have done anything differently.

If you were hoping these parents would say something about raising their son not to stab other kids, or teaching him to be mature and walk away in a conflict that could escalate, you’ll be disappointed.

Karmelo Anthony says he is unable to pay for an attorney for his appeal after being convicted in the murder of high school track star Austin Metcalf.

Anthony is requesting a court-appointed attorney, according to a filing that claimed he was a “penniless, destitute, and indigent person.”

The Anthony family reportedly purchased a new car and moved into a ritzy neighborhood in a gated community after the killer’s bond was lowered.

Most people with at least half a brain understand that what Karmelo Anthony did is legally defined as murder. This has nothing to do with the color of his skin. It should also not be controversial to throw convicted murderers in prison. But because this man had a certain skin color, many people with low IQs have a problem with this. And one of those low-IQ losers appears to be allegedly on the hunt for people who were on the jury that convicted the murderer.

Yesterday, I came across a video in which a black man films himself riding down the street on a bicycle, reportedly in Florida, before he pulls over where a white man is sitting on the ground talking to a white woman while they appear to be waiting for a bus. Out of nowhere and without provocation, the black man punches the seated white man in the head, accusing him of being part of the “jury selection” for the Karmelo Anthony trial; he also says to the white man, who is a veteran, “you gonna die.”

Justice was served when Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murder. Yet, the radical left is treating him as the innocent victim, a martyr, and is attacking his victim’s family as the enemy. The racial grievance machine is running at full speed, and it’s absolutely horrific.

Thelma Anderson, a black legal activist, appeared on Roland Martin Unfiltered and went to work rolling out all the buzzards to inflame a race war. Anderson defended Anthony, then went further by casting the supporters of Austin Metcalf’s family as the villains in her story.

“First and foremost, the one thing that I would axe for people to do at this moment is pray for the Anthony family because they have been legally lynched for the last year and more so by this slaughterhouse of a courthouse as well as the family of the Metcalfs,” she said. “The energy right now is very white supremacy.

Trump was right. Jasmine Crockett is truly one of the most low-IQ members of society — and it might not even be close.

Crockett said her heart breaks for the Karmelo Anthony verdict. This is because she believes a young man will be sent to prison for 35 years when he has his whole life ahead of him. And no, she did not mention that another young man’s life was forever taken far too early. She was not concerned about the victim or the family.

Per TMZ:

Rep. Crockett doesn’t hold back as she explains why the case hits close to home … and why race and venue played a huge role.

One thing she makes abundantly clear … she doesn’t think Anthony got a fair shake … especially in front of a jury that did not have a single Black juror.

Rep. Crockett feels Anthony’s claim that he was afraid during the fatal confrontation at a high school track meet was largely dismissed … and she questions whether jurors would’ve viewed the situation differently if the races were reversed.

A Collin County, Texas, jury found Karmelo Anthony guilty of murder on Tuesday for the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in Frisco in April 2025. The jury rejected Anthony’s claim that he acted in self-defense.

The jury returned the verdict after roughly three hours of deliberation. Reports indicate the jurors did not opt for a lesser manslaughter conviction.

The New York Post provided a brief recap of the events that led to Metcalf’s death:

The violent confrontation erupted in the bleachers of Kuykendall Stadium when Anthony refused to leave the tent reserved for the Memorial High School track team during a rain delay.

Anthony was repeatedly asked to leave the tent multiple times, and Metcalf began to argue with him.

The argument escalated further when Anthony said to Metcalf “touch me and see what happens,” while keeping his hand hidden in his backpack, implying that he had a weapon, according to FOX4.

Metcalf pushed him and Anthony fatally stabbed him in the chest with a knife.

Witnesses for the state testified that Anthony acted as the aggressor.

Anthony was caught on video stating, “I’m not alleged, I did it.”

“He put his hands on me.”
