Former South Korean President Moon Jae-in was indicted Thursday on bribery charges, accused of accepting illegal favours through a no-show job arranged for his then-son-in-law during his term in office.

Prosecutors say Moon received bribes worth 217 million won (€133,239) from Thai Eastar Jet founder Lee Sang-jik, who allegedly provided wages, housing, and other financial support to Moon’s former son-in-law between 2018 and 2020.

Lee, a former campaign associate of Moon’s, was also indicted for bribery and breach of trust.

The son-in-law was reportedly hired at Lee’s Thailand-based airline company in a director-level role despite having no aviation experience and carried out only minor duties while claiming to be working remotely from South Korea.

Myanmar’s regime has rejected a proposal by Bangladesh’s largest Islamist political party, Jamaat-e-Islami, for the creation of an independent Rohingya state in Rakhine State.

Jamaat made the proposal during a meeting with a Communist Party of China (CPC) delegation in Dhaka on Sunday. China has not responded.

The Jamaat delegation’s leader Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher told reporters that around 1.2 million Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh were enduring “inhumane conditions” and humanitarian aid was not a solution.

Simion heads to the second round of the Romanian Presidential Election as the clear favorite.

The Globalists’ nightmare is fast becoming a reality, as MAGA-influenced, right-winger George Simion – who is against military support for Ukraine and skeptical about the EU – won a major victory in the first round of ‘redo’ of the presidential election in Romania.

BBC reported:

“George Simion came first with 40.96% of the vote, and will go into the runoff on 18 May as the clear favorite against the liberal mayor of Bucharest.

Nicusor Dan narrowly beat Crin Antonescu, candidate of the governing coalition, with just under 21% of the vote.”

Calin Georgescu and George Simion.

The presidential election in Romania was cancelled last December over unproven allegations of campaign fraud and Russian interference after Calin Georgescu had an unexpected landslide victory.

Puerto Rico withdrew its $1 billion climate lawsuit against the oil and gas industry on Friday following the Trump administration’s move to block two states from seeking legal damages for similar alleged environmental damages.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the territory’s government said in the notice that it “voluntarily dismisses this entire case,” with no further elaboration as to why. President Donald Trump has repeatedly condemned state-level climate policies that impact domestic energy production, and on April 30, his Department of Justice (DOJ) filed two separate lawsuits against Hawaii and Michigan after both states considered filing similar complaints against the oil and gas industry.

“This dismissal adds to the growing momentum among federal and state courts holding that states and municipalities cannot use state laws to sue over climate change,” Theodore J. Boutrous, Jr. of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher LLP, counsel for Chevron Corporation wrote in a statement provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “These claims are precluded and preempted by federal law and must be dismissed under clear U.S. Supreme Court precedent.”

Dark clouds of smoke have been rising over Sudan’s wartime capital Port Sudan for two consecutive days.

A state of panic is building in the administrative centre that is home to tens of thousands of people seeking safety during two years of war between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

This is the second RSF attack to target critical infrastructure in Port Sudan over 24 hours and is suspected to be another drone strike in a series of hits on army-held territory across the country.

On Sunday morning, Port Sudan airport was damaged by suicide drones that targeted a weapons depot in the military airbase in the vicinity of the airport.

Flights were temporarily suspended to the only international airport left in the country.

On April 24, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) issued a report on China’s naval modernization, noting that, “China’s navy is, by far, the largest of any country in East Asia, and sometime between 2015 and 2020 it surpassed the U.S. Navy in numbers of battle force ships …” The CRS report then quotes the DOD, that China’s navy “is the largest navy in the world …”

As an Asian land power, why would China be rapidly expanding its navy?

A benign view of China’s naval buildup is that it is driven by its economic and security needs. As the world’s second-largest economy, it relies on maritime trade routes for energy and raw materials imports and exports of finished goods, making sea lane security paramount. Though, one might ask, security against what threat?

Of note, even though China has a base in Djibouti on the Red Sea, its navy has been wholly absent in keeping the vital waterway and path to the Suez Canal open in the face of piratical Houthi attacks on shipping. In fact, the U.S. government has credibly accused a Chinese satellite company of providing real-time intelligence to the Houthis to aid in their targeting of shipping, including the U.S. Navy. That China’s naval buildup and China’s increasing bellicosity align with paramount leader Xi Jinping’s vision of national rejuvenation linked to maritime command of the seas — far beyond Taiwan’s rocky shores.

The grant, which will be offered between 2025 and 2027, comes as the Trump administration has cut more than 380 domestic grant programs in the last month. Trump justified the cuts by saying they violated his executive order, which prohibited funding for diversity, equity, and inclusion directives.

French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen discussed the grant at the “Choose Europe for Science” event in Paris.

“A few years ago, no one would have imagined that one of the biggest democracies in the world would cancel research programs under the pretext that the word diversity was in this program,” French President Emmanuel Macron said. “No one would have thought that one of the biggest democracies in the world would delete with a stroke the ability of one researcher or another to obtain visas,” Macron said, but here we are.”

SAO PAULO — A panel of Brazil’s Supreme Court justices started proceedings on Tuesday morning to determine whether federal officers, retired military officers and an aide of former President Jair Bolsonaro will also stand trial for allegedly attempting to stage a coup.

Last month, the panel unanimously accepted charges against Bolsonaro and seven close allies over an alleged attempt to stay in office after his 2022 election defeat to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and ordered him to stand trial.

When Prosecutor-General Paulo Gonet accused Bolsonaro and 33 others of attempting a coup, he divided them into five different groups, based on their roles and positions in the alleged plot.

Bolsonaro and his closest allies, including running mate Gen. Braga Netto, were placed in the “core group,” according to the charges. Now, the Supreme Court panel will review charges against the second group, which Gonet said held managerial roles.

On Good Friday Operation Rescue received some good news: In response to the complaint we filed earlier this month, the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) has opened an investigation into the death of Lexi Arguello.

Lexi Arguello was 18-years-old and reportedly 22 weeks pregnant when she experienced severe complications during a second trimester abortion committed at Planned Parenthood Fort Collins in Colorado. Reportedly, Lexi developed an amniotic fluid embolism – a life-threatening complication that can occur in second or third trimester abortions as well as during delivery.

A Republican-led House panel has referred former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to the Department of Justice for potential prosecution, alleging he lied to Congress about his role in a state report on COVID nursing home deaths.

Cuomo was reportedly responsible for killing thousands of nursing home residents after putting people infected with COVID in their nursing homes without their consent.

The referral, initially made by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in October 2024, accuses Cuomo of making “criminally false statements” during a June 2024 closed-door testimony. The subcommittee, chaired by former Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, claims Cuomo falsely denied involvement in drafting or reviewing a July 2020 New York State Department of Health report that downplayed nursing home deaths and deflected blame onto staff. Documents and witness testimony, including emails and handwritten notes allegedly in Cuomo’s handwriting, suggest he reviewed, edited, and drafted portions of the report, contradicting his testimony.

Kids in Communist-dominated Illinois, where Democrats care so very much about our kids, can’t read.

The latest look at education statistics in the great state of Illinois shows that only 30 percent of fourth graders can read at level.

That isn’t even half!

So, in a state that has some of the highest spending per student, few of them can read.

Nice going, Democrats.

Per The Center Square:

Data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress report card shows that in Illinois, just 30% of fourth graders are hitting such standards. In a 2024 national exam, the state’s students finished 29th in the country for the percentage of fourth graders at or above proficiency.

“This is a huge problem across the country, but it’s a real problem here in Illinois,” Ugaste told The Center Square. “It’s my understanding that our 8th graders are doing a bit better. It speaks to the amount of damage that was done when the schools closed during the pandemic. That’s when these children would have first been in school and first learning how to read, write and do math.”

With researchers identifying third and fourth grades as being a critical period in a student’s overall academic development, school system critics like Ugaste argue that now more than ever, parents should be allowed to make use of school choice to send their children to the best school for them. Researchers stress such assessments can be early predictors for critical milestones such as future employment and overall earning potential.

Universities seem to be filled to the brim with seditionists and George Mason University outside Washington D.C. seems to be only the latest bastion of anti-Americanism after yet another so-called “professor” showed his true colors.

Nicholas Decker, a GMU PhD in economics didn’t just spout off in anger in or out of the classroom. He did mouth off out of passion. He did just have a quick, but maybe quickly regretted lapse in judgement. He actually wrote a full essay revealing his hateful, dangerous, ignorance.

Decker actually wrote an entire blog post explaining how we have to assassinate President Trump and everyone who supports him.

Student’s victory leads to policy shift at South Carolina university

Winthrop University student Riley Dill successfully challenged the school administration and Council of Student Leaders for violating her free speech rights after they denied her application to start a Students for Life club.

Dill reached out to Students for Life of America for help, and the national pro-life group issued a demand letter to allow the student to start her club.

Within one week of receiving the letter, the public South Carolina university rescinded the decision and confirmed recognition of Winthrop Students for Life as a new student organization.

Reached for comment, the Council of Student Leaders directed The Fix to Winthrop President Edward Serna’s official statement on the case.

It’s unclear if many on the left realize the point of running for office is to represent the American people and not foreign nationals, but actions speak louder than words.

Several Democrats have arrived in El Salvador with the intent of bringing back alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

It’s factually incorrect to claim that deporting an alleged gang member is a threat to Americans in the United States, but it’s not like these people are working with facts here. And LOL to the “illegally abducted” term, as the man was sent back to his home country after breaking federal immigration laws. Additionally, she has got some nerve claiming Trump does not respect the branches of government when all he’s trying to do is enforce the rule of law, but what do you expect from the most lawless political party in American history?

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

At 94 years old, leftist billionaire George Soros has established the blueprint for how his enormous Open Society Foundations, fueled with $32 billion of his fortune, will continue fulfilling his dark vision throughout the world under the leadership of his more extreme son Alex. Part of that vision involves using the ever-evolving specter of climate change as a springboard to impel the world towards a New World Order. The utopia that the elder Soros envisions is one that has banned fossil fuels, with everyday human existence regulated into oblivion. The COVID pandemic in 2020 provided what he called a “revolutionary moment” to recognize what kind of social control could be accomplished.

MRC Business, in partnership with Bongino Report, conducted a three-month investigation into the Soros empire’s reach into the global climate-change movement. We uncovered a vast radical leftist network of hundreds of powerful Soros-funded grassroots organizations, universities, and international NGOs with influence in some of the most powerful policy-making institutions, such as the United Nations.

“Both the Executive and the Judiciary have an obligation to follow the law.”

Those thirteen words, penned by Justice Samuel Alito on Holy Saturday, represent the first admission by the judiciary that courts too can wrongly flout the law.

Justice Alito’s stark acknowledgement concluded his bullet-point evisceration of the Supreme Court’s “unprecedented” command that President Trump not remove a “putative class of detainees” under the Alien Enemies Act. The Supreme Court had entered that order shortly after midnight after the American Civil Liberties Union (“ACLU”) filed an emergency application asking alternatively for an emergency injunction, an immediate administrative injunction, a writ of mandamus, or a stay of removal, to prevent the Trump Administration from removing Venezuelans to El Salvador pursuant to the Alien Enemies Act.

The ACLU’s scattershot request for relief from the Supreme Court came a mere two days after they sued the Trump Administration in a federal court in Texas — and before that court or the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals had an opportunity to rule on the request for an injunction barring the removal of any more aliens to El Salvador.

The Export-Import Bank recently approved a $5 billion loan to French energy company TotalEnergy to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) pipeline in Mozambique. An American organization is funding America’s economic competition, contradicting its mission and President Donald Trump’s plans to support U.S.-based businesses.

Ex-Im was established in 1934 via an executive order by Franklin D. Roosevelt as an independent executive agency with the purported goal of supporting American jobs by facilitating the export of U.S. goods and services.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy just wrapped up a trip to Asia to secure contracts for Alaska’s LNG industry and the construction of its new pipeline. U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright is authorizing LNG expansion nationwide. At the same time, Ex-Im is funding a direct competitor. Why? How?

Ten years have passed since the Department of Defense initiated a social experiment with women in the military. Pentagon officials promised that female trainees headed for previously all-male combat arms units would have to meet the exact same standards as men. Has the experiment played out as promised?

We are about to find out. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s March 30 memorandum calls for a 60-day review to achieve high, uncompromised standards in combat arms units such as the infantry, special operations, and other occupations with extraordinary physical demands.

Thanks to a series of executive orders that President Donald Trump has issued since January, Hegseth’s six-month implementation period should proceed without equivocation or distractions related to percentage-based diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) quotas. Wrote Hegseth, “[I]t is essential to identify which positions require heightened entry-level and sustained physical fitness.”

A camp counselor picks favorites by lauding some campers regardless of how ordinary or even counterproductive their conduct is, while ignoring or disparaging other campers’ valuable contributions. A referee takes sides by giving the benefit of the doubt to one team. And a human rights activist flouts the rights shared by all persons by expressing outrage at and even exaggerating or outright fabricating abuses perpetrated by one set of combatants while turning a blind eye to atrocities executed by the opposing combatants.

The same goes for the rule of law in America – that is, a system in which individuals are subject to well-established, general, and publicly promulgated rules that are equally enforced and impartially adjudicated. A group that defends the law’s integrity against threats from one party but remains silent while the rival party repeatedly abuses the law over the course of many years to consolidate power and harm political opponents politicizes an essential principle that transcends the differences between partisans.

Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen was unanimously rebuked by a group of Maryland residents who were disgusted after learning of his taxpayer-funded boondoggle to bring back an illegal alien who had been deported by the Trump administration.

As a reminder, Van Hollen has become a national laughingstock after flying to El Salvador last week in a clownish attempt to bring illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the United States after the alleged MS-13 gang member was deported due to a clerical error.

Van Hollen — a senator from Maryland — has been widely criticized for ignoring his own constituents and wasting tax money to fly to El Salvador in a bid to retrieve a foreign national.

On Monday, a group of Maryland residents torched their senator — and the Democratic Party — for wasting taxpayer resources by prioritizing an illegal alien over American citizens.

The unanimous condemnation occurred during a “man on the street interview” conducted by Johnny Belisario, a producer with “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
