Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett told “Kudlow” guest host David Asman Monday the answer to one question could render some pardons issued by former President Joe Biden “null and void.”

President Donald Trump declared in a March 17 post on Truth Social that pardons issued by Biden to members of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol were invalid due to the use of an autopen, a mechanical device that can replicate a stored signature. Asman asked Jarrett about whether the use of the device would render pardons invalid.

“There were thousands of pardons and if the president, President Biden, didn’t know about or have the capacity to know about what these things were, that somebody says we’re using the autopen for this, does that make them null and void?” Asman asked.

A Barack Obama-appointed federal judge has blocked President Donald Trump’s administration from terminating the immigration documents of 5,000 Venezuelan nationals living in the United States.

A federal court in California has halted an attempt by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to revoke approximately 5,000 Temporary Protected Status (TPS) documents.

A TPS designation protects foreign nationals from deportation.

The status also allows them to apply for authorization to work in the United States.

The move from Democrat-aligned Judge Edward M. Chen comes despite the U.S. Supreme Court having already affirmed the Trump administration’s authority to end Venezuela’s TPS designation.

TPS is a limited protection offered only when foreign nationals cannot safely return home.

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear two high-profile challenges to state gun-control laws—one in Maryland banning semiautomatic rifles such as the AR-15, and another in Rhode Island prohibiting magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Both denials came in a June 2 orders list that did not provide an explanation for the denials. However, three justices—Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch—dissented, indicating that they would have taken up the cases.

In the Maryland case, sometimes referred to as an “assault weapons” ban, Justice Brett Kavanaugh concurred with the majority in its decision to deny review, but said the Supreme Court “should and presumably will” address the constitutionality of AR-15 bans within the next term or two.

The Maryland case, known as Snope v. Brown, involved a 2013 law enacted in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, which bars the sale and possession of 45 named semiautomatic rifles and similar “copycat” weapons. The challengers of the ban argued in court filings that rifles such as the AR-15 are among the most popular firearms in the country, lawfully owned by millions for self-defense and sporting purposes, and therefore are protected under the Second Amendment.

The Boulder, Colorado terror attack suspect planned on commiting a mass shooting over the weekend, however, he was stopped from obtaining a firearm due to his immigration status in the United States.

Illegal immigrant Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, who admitted he was planning to carry out the attack a year in advance, also told detectives that he was planning to make the attack a mass shooting. He had even taken a concealed-carry course to learn how to handle a firearm, according to the New York Post.

However, his attempt to purchase a gun was thwarted due to his status in the country illegally after the expiry of his visa, Boulder Judicial District Attorney Michael Dougherty said. Soliman, who is facing a total of 624 years behind bars, appeared in court on Monday afternoon, where he said he understood the orders placed against him involving the 12 victims. It was initially reported that there were eight people injured in the attack before four others came forward with injuries.

Soliman is facing 16 counts of attempted murder, which could result in a prison sentence of up to 384 years if convicted. He also faces 48 years for deploying two Molotov cocktails and another 192 years for allegedly attempting to use 16 additional incendiary devices found nearby. He has also been hit with federal hate crime charges.

The organization reported over 10,000 cases—the highest yearly figure since 1979. It represents a 200 percent increase from the previous year.
