Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), told BGNES that Bulgaria has met the necessary criteria for joining the eurozone. She stated that Bulgaria’s progress should be reflected in the upcoming convergence report, which is expected to assess the country’s readiness for entry into the eurozone positively.

Georgieva emphasized that Bulgaria has been operating under a currency board since 1997, with the lev pegged to the euro since 1999, effectively placing the country within the eurozone in practice. Now, she noted, Bulgaria will take the final step to become a full legal member of the eurozone.

Commenting on President Rumen Radev’s decision to propose a referendum on the timing of Bulgaria’s eurozone entry, and his subsequent referral of the issue to the Constitutional Court, Georgieva stated this is within the president’s rights. She clarified that the IMF does not weigh in on such matters, focusing solely on the facts – namely, that Bulgaria has met the eurozone entry criteria.

Ukraine‘s SBU intelligence service said the blast left the bridge in an “emergency state” after devastating its foundations.

It was at least the third attempt to destroy the key road and rail link from Russia to occupied Crimea.

The same SBU special forces unit behind Sunday’s historic drone strikes in Russia claimed responsibility for the pre-dawn attack.

They claimed their agents spent months mining the substructure of the 12 mile road and rail link.

The SBU said: “The SBU conducted a new unique special operation and struck the Crimean Bridge for the third time — this time underwater.”

They added: “The operation lasted several months. SBU agents mined the supports of this illegal facility.

“Today, without any casualties among the civilian population, at 4.44am in the morning the first explosive device was activated.

Ex-CIA analyst Larry Johnson says Ukraine could not have carried this out alone, and that the operation bears the fingerprints of the CIA and/or British MI6.

By now, you’ve all heard about Ukraine’s massive assault using killer drones that attacked Russian airfields housing the nuclear bomber fleet in Siberia, as well as several other locations deep within Russia’s heartland.

The mainstream narrative is that the operation took over 18 months to plan and execute, and was ‘personally overseen’ by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, it is hard to believe that Zelensky, a former homo-erotic dancer and actor, was prepared for this attack.

The attack, according to mainstream reports, took out 41 aircraft or roughly 34 percent of Russia’s fleet of strategic bombers.

CNN persisted Tuesday in publishing fake news pushed by Hamas, claiming that “dozens” of Palestinians had been killed near an American-run aid side in Gaza, despite Israeli denials and a history of Hamas lies.

Israeli government spokesman David Mencer told journalists: “The IDF did not fire at civilians in, or near, humanitarian aid distribution zones.”

The story came a day after U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee demanded that CNN and other outlets retract false reporting of dozens of Palestinians being killed at a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) site Sunday.

CNN reported its story under the headline, “Dozens of Palestinians killed near Gaza aid distribution point, health officials say, in third day of shooting.” It cited the Gaza “health ministry” — without noting that the “ministry” is controlled entirely by Hamas and has a long record of false and sensational claims — and reported that “Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians as they made their way to the distribution site in Tel al-Sultan in Rafah.”

A dozen people were stabbed at a shelter for the unhoused in Salem, Oregon, on Sunday evening, according to authorities.

Salem police said they arrested a man in connection with the mass stabbing carried out at about 7.15pm local time at a facility run by an organization called the Union Gospel Mission.

The suspect in the case was identified as Tony Latrell Williams, 42, of Bend, Oregon. Investigators said there was no indication Williams had targeted the shelter in advance of Sunday’s bloodshed.

First responders initially brought 11 victims to a local hospital with “varying types” of wounds. At a news briefing on Monday, Salem police deputy chief Treven Upkes said officers discovered a 12th stabbing victim while interviewing witnesses.

Five of those stabbed remained in critical condition Monday, police said.

A Guatemalan court ordered Monday the arrests of Colombia’s attorney general and a former Colombian defense minister who led a U.N. anti-corruption mission in Guatemala.

Guatemalan prosecutor Rafael Curruchiche, who himself has been sanctioned by the United States and other countries for allegedly interfering in corruption investigations, had requested that an appeals court issue the arrest orders for Colombia’s top prosecutor Luz Adriana Camargo Garzón, who was the chief of investigations of the Guatemala mission, and Iván Velásquez, who had led the mission and later was Colombia’s defense minister.

Curruchiche said Camargo and Velásquez had committed illicit association during their investigation into bribes paid to Guatemalan officials by Brazilian construction giant Odebrecht.

Along with former Guatemalan prosecutors working with the U.N. mission, Velásquez and Camargo were part of “a criminal structure led by the former CICIG commissioner,” using the Spanish initials of the U.N. mission, Curruchiche alleged.

SOFIA, Bulgaria — Bulgaria is close to realizing its decades-old goal of joining the euro currency union and deepening ties with the more prosperous countries of Western Europe. But the government faces a populist backlash against the shared currency on the eve of a key decision by European Union authorities.

Fears of inflation, poverty and the unknown are mingling with disinformation spread on social media that aims to turn people against the euro. The discontent tracks with increased support for populist and anti-EU parties across Europe, which is exploited by nationalist and pro-Russian politicians in a country that remains one of Europe’s poorest and most afflicted with corruption.

“Adopting the euro will make us feel the threshold of poverty. After all, prices will be in euros,” said 78-year-old retiree Tanya Ignatova.

“Bulgaria is not ready for the euro. Someday we may be ready, but not now,” said another retiree, Mario Georgiev.

Several thousand people rallied against the euro in the capital on Saturday, urging a referendum on whether to transition from the lev currency to the euro. The head of the pro-Russian Varazhdane party, Kostadin Kostadinov, told the crowd that “Bulgaria has risen and declared: Freedom, we choose the Bulgarian lev!”

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — Far-right lawmaker Geert Wilders pulled his party out of the ruling four-party Dutch coalition Tuesday in dispute over a crackdown on migration, sparking a political crisis and possibly the end of the 11-month-old government of Prime Minister Dick Schoof.

Wilders announced his decision in a message on X after a brief meeting in parliament of leaders of the four parties that make up the fractious administration.

The government crisis comes just three weeks before the Netherlands is scheduled to host a summit of NATO leaders in The Hague.

Dilan Yesilgöz, leader of the right-wing People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, said before the meeting that Schoof urged the leaders to act responsibly.

“The Prime Minister who appealed to us this morning said that we are facing enormous international challenges, we have a war on our continent, an economic crisis may be coming our way,” Yesilgöz told reporters in parliament.

Some observant royal watchers thought King Charles looked emotional at times throughout his trip to Canada last week — and a Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirms to CBC News that the normally stoic monarch found delivering the throne speech to be a particularly poignant moment.

“His Majesty was deeply moved and touched by the enthusiastic response to his visit,” the palace spokesperson said.

“On the speech, the standing ovation in particular was an unexpected and emotional moment for His Majesty. You can hear his voice go a bit crackly in the final lines.”

Footage shows Charles looking pleased by the warm reception he received as the assembled dignitaries rose to applaud him and his speech.

Charles’s line about Canada “indeed” being the Truth North “strong and free” was particularly well received in the Senate chamber. There was no act of protest like when an Australian Indigenous senator shouted at the King in Parliament during his visit to that realm last year.

Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrain became Mongolia’s Prime Minister in 2021, after gaining prominence by helping to organize mass protests against corruption. Now, after protesters have taken to the streets accusing him of corruption, which he has denied, he’s resigned.

Oyun-Erdene lost a vote of confidence in parliament on Monday, according to a parliamentary statement, failing to secure a majority 64 votes in the 126-seat body. Only 82 lawmakers voted in the secret ballot, which yielded only 44 in approval of Oyun-Erdene.

“It was an honour to serve my country and people in times of difficulties, including pandemics, wars, and tariffs,” Oyun-Erdene said after the vote.

Oyun-Erdene, whose center-left ruling Mongolian People’s Party retained a majority but formed a coalition with opposition parties anyway after legislative elections last year, will remain as caretaker Prime Minister until his successor is appointed within 30 days.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has made the decision to ban Russian ice hockey teams from the upcoming Winter Olympics in Italy, the president of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Luc Tardif, told TASS on Monday.

Last week, sports broadcaster ESPN reported that the IOC had confirmed that Russian teams will remain barred from the 2026 Winter Games.

“For the Olympics – it’s an IOC decision,” Tardif replied when asked by a TASS correspondent whether the committee’s ruling regarding Russia’s hockey team was final.

In February, the IIHF ruled to extend its sanctions and ban both Russian and Belarusian teams from participating in the federation’s 2025-2026 championship season.

The IIHF, like many other international sports organizations, banned athletes from both nations at the IOC’s behest following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022. The committee later allowed certain Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under a neutral flag, provided they pass a vetting process to determine that they have not supported the Ukraine conflict.

Russian negotiators presented their Ukrainian counterparts with a memorandum outlining two potential frameworks for ending Moscow’s full-scale invasion at talks in Istanbul on Monday.

The proposals, published by state news agencies, mark Moscow’s latest effort to assert its maximalist demands for ending the more-than-three-year war.

The first framework requires Kyiv to completely withdraw from the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, which Russia partially occupies but claims as its own territory. A 30-day ceasefire would enter into force once this troop withdrawal begins, the memorandum says. Ukraine would also be required to relocate its military to an agreed distance from the Russian border.

The Israeli military confirmed on Tuesday that it fired several rounds in the direction of Palestinians who were advancing toward troops after ignoring initial “warning” shots.

The Palestinian Red Crescent has reported that 13 people were killed in the incident, which the Israel Defense Forces said took place roughly 500 yards from an aid distribution site. Other reports have the fatality count much higher.

The standoff began when the Palestinian group started making its way toward the IDF, which identified the unit as a threat and fired warning shots for the group to stop advancing, according to the Israeli military. The IDF said that when the group “failed to retreat,” it fired rounds “directed near” several people who continued veering away from aid and toward Israeli troops.

“Earlier today, during the movement of the crowd along the designated routes toward the aid distribution site—approximately half a kilometer from the site—IDF troops identified several suspects moving toward them, deviating from the designated routes,” the IDF said. “IDF troops are not preventing the arrival of Gazan civilians to the humanitarian aid distribution sites. The warning shots were fired approximately half a kilometer away from the humanitarian aid distribution site toward several suspects who advanced toward the troops in such a way that posed a threat to them.”

On Sunday an illegal alien named Mohamed Soliman allegedly shouted, “Free Palestine” and used a makeshift flamethrower to set a crowd of Jews on fire in Boulder, Colorado. According to a criminal complaint, Soliman — who has been charged with a federal hate crime and several other crimes — said that he “wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead.” But the media seem just as eager to downplay the antisemitic nature of this attack (and other instances of violence against Jews) as they were to accuse Elon Musk of antisemitism for raising his hand in the air.

There was another antisemitic terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, over the weekend. Mohamed Soliman, an Egyptian national who overstayed his visa, decided to burn Jewish demonstrators who were holding an event to raise awareness for the Gaza hostages. Soliman threw incendiary devices and had a makeshift flamethrower, shouting “Free Palestine.” Six people were injured. There were no fatalities.

Some outlets were more atrocious than others in their coverage. Axios was on another level. Some of their headlines obfuscated, deflected, and outright sanitized what happened at this pro-Israel event.

“With the suspect in the Boulder attack having entered the U.S. and sought asylum during the Biden administration, Trump used the event to tout his administration’s anti-immigration policies and bash Biden’s.”

Left-wing U2 frontman Bono is out there pushing the lie that tens of thousands of kids are being “murdered” thanks to Trump’s cuts to the criminal USAID program. But he is just one of many pushing the fake claim.

As I wrote at Breitbart News, Bono appeared on whiny ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s little-watched show to “warn” Trump that “there will be trouble” for his efforts to cut the literally billions in waste and graft that U.S. dollars paid for in USAID, the fake “charity” that supposedly helps (but really doesn’t) feed kids and cure AIDS patients across the third world.

Bono then went on the Joe Rogan podcast and claimed that 300,000 people have been killed by Trump’s budget cuts. Yes, he used that absurd number.

Bono’s lie was quickly cut down by people like Elon Musk, who called Bono a liar…

Bono, though, was just mindlessly disgorging the claim by a “researcher” named Brooke Nichols who is only postulating a “model” and was not reporting any actual deaths.

In the aftermath of all these lies, a former USAID worker is out disrupting all the wild-eyed, slobbering, left-wingers who are claiming that “THE KIDS ARE DYING!!!”

According to Just The News, Max Primorac, who worked for USAID for 30 years, says the liberals are not telling the truth.

“It’s incredible to blame America for millions of people dying. Number one, they [Amnesty International] don’t have any documentation, any proof. And second, the primary responsibility of providing for citizens overseas are their own governments, not the American taxpayer,” Primorac said.

Anyone surprised by these polling numbers isn’t paying attention, as they’d have to be intentionally naive not to see that the left has become the party of the rich, while Republicans are now the party of the middle class.

This becomes especially clear when you consider that the left effectively replaced a sitting president through the influence of major donors, with zero input from voters. That does not represent the little guy in middle America, as the left has increasingly become aligned with big tech and corporate interests, despite claims to the contrary.

Harry Enten, CNN’s data analyst, said what we all know to be true, which is that “For decades, polls showed Dems had a double-digit edge on the party that looked out for/was the party of the middle class. Polls now show the GOP/Trump has totally eliminated that gap.”

In other words, despite the left’s attempts to fearmonger and gaslight the public about the economy, Republicans still hold a 10-point lead on economic issues, despite claims of an economic calamity that simply won’t happen, at least not in the next several years.

Here’s a prime example from something that Matt wrote yesterday:

Democrats aren’t even pretending anymore. If they retake the House, they’re coming for Trump—again. On Sunday, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) openly admitted she would “absolutely” launch an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump if given the gavel on the House Oversight Committee. No pretense, no evidence—just raw political vengeance. From Elon Musk’s role in cutting government waste to Trump’s legal fights with Harvard and high-powered law firms, Crockett is already laying the groundwork to turn routine policy and legal disputes into impeachable offenses. Her comments make one thing unmistakably clear: Democrats are gearing up to use the power of Congress not for oversight, but for retaliation.

I’m still not convinced that this “We still super-duper hate Trump!” approach is a winner for bringing the Democrats back to any semblance of political relevance. Sure, it gets the coastal and Illinois Democrats frothing even more than usual, but it can’t have much — if any — play at all with the traditional voters that they have been losing.

As far as long-term planning goes, the 24/7 Trump Derangement Syndrome shtick is really going to leave their tank empty come January of 2029. They’ll try to brand JD Vance, Ron DeSantis, or whomever emerges as the GOP frontrunner as the next Satan, but it’s not going have that same zing for their base that “ORANGE MAN BAD!” does.

Apple heiress Laurene Powell Jobs, Google founder Eric Schmidt, and the George Soros-backed Tides Foundation are among the Democratic heavyweights bankrolling the anti-Israel charity of activist Kamau Franklin, who called Elias Rodriguez’s alleged assassination of two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C., a “morally righteous” act.

Franklin runs Community Movement Builders, an Atlanta-based nonprofit that promotes “liberation” ideology for black Americans, Palestinians, and other groups. The organization embraces radical rhetoric in support of those causes, referring to police as “pigs” and calling the state of Israel “the result of a war crime.”

Last week, Franklin signed an open letter defending Rodriguez’s assassination of Israeli diplomats Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky at the Capital Jewish Museum. The letter, which Franklin touted on his social media feeds, called Rodriguez’s actions “fully justified,” “eminently defensible,” and “morally righteous.” And in a thinly veiled threat, the letter says Rodriguez’s shooting will “teach a lesson and set an example” for supporters of Israel. Community Movement Builders, which Franklin formed in 2015, also expressed support on social media for Unity of Fields, an anti-Israel organization that published the open letter.

The group’s radical rhetoric could raise concerns for its roster of deep-pocketed donors, while showing that violent, anti-Israel sentiments are closer to the Democratic Party mainstream than they would like to admit. Of the $2.9 million that Community Movement Builders raised in 2023, the most recent year for which tax information is available, nearly $2 million came through large donations from the charities of several Democratic donors, liberal philanthropies, and groups in the Arabella network, a Democratic dark money juggernaut.

Former Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg has issued a stark warning about the handling of the murder case of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was brutally killed in Houston.

Ogg revealed that one of the alleged killers, Franklin Peña Ramos, had been involved in a prior sexual assault in Costa Rica—a crime that was neither prosecuted nor properly recorded—allowing him to enter the United States without issue.

The revelation has sparked public outrage, especially from those who argue that the current immigration policies make it easier for dangerous individuals to enter the country.

The community is demanding answers, while the new District Attorney, Sean Teare, faces criticism for allegedly adopting a “soft-on-crime” stance that could threaten the pursuit of full justice for Jocelyn.

Jocelyn’s body was discovered on June 17, 2024. Investigators believe she was sexually assaulted and murdered by Peña Ramos and Johan Martínez-Rangel, both Venezuelan nationals residing in the U.S. illegally. The brutality of the crime shocked the nation.

The Muslim terrorist who perpetrated the firebombing attack on Jewish Americans at a rally in Boulder, Colorado, was not only allowed to enter the U.S. illegally during Biden’s term in office, but Biden also gave him limited legal status and a work permit.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, was identified as the man who tried to murder Jewish people at the Boulder rally by spraying flammable liquid on them, then lighting them up with a flamethrower-style device, the Boulder Police say.

But now, Fox News reporter Bill Melugin reports that Soliman was coddled and given legal status by Biden.

Melugin says he was told the Egyptian national “arrived at LAX on 8/27/22 on a B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa with an authorized stay through 2/26/23, but he overstayed & never left.”

“I’m told on 9/29/22, he filed some sort of claim with USCIS, potentially an asylum claim, and on 3/29/23, USCIS under the Biden admin gave him work authorization, which expired on 3/28/25,” Melugin continued.

The official Harvard yearbook, the 520–page book aimed to capture the “Harvard experience” and described as “Harvard. Immortalized,” shocked graduating seniors when they flipped through the pages recapping every month since their freshman year.

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett told “Kudlow” guest host David Asman Monday the answer to one question could render some pardons issued by former President Joe Biden “null and void.”

President Donald Trump declared in a March 17 post on Truth Social that pardons issued by Biden to members of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol were invalid due to the use of an autopen, a mechanical device that can replicate a stored signature. Asman asked Jarrett about whether the use of the device would render pardons invalid.

“There were thousands of pardons and if the president, President Biden, didn’t know about or have the capacity to know about what these things were, that somebody says we’re using the autopen for this, does that make them null and void?” Asman asked.

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear two high-profile challenges to state gun-control laws—one in Maryland banning semiautomatic rifles such as the AR-15, and another in Rhode Island prohibiting magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Both denials came in a June 2 orders list that did not provide an explanation for the denials. However, three justices—Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch—dissented, indicating that they would have taken up the cases.

In the Maryland case, sometimes referred to as an “assault weapons” ban, Justice Brett Kavanaugh concurred with the majority in its decision to deny review, but said the Supreme Court “should and presumably will” address the constitutionality of AR-15 bans within the next term or two.

The Maryland case, known as Snope v. Brown, involved a 2013 law enacted in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, which bars the sale and possession of 45 named semiautomatic rifles and similar “copycat” weapons. The challengers of the ban argued in court filings that rifles such as the AR-15 are among the most popular firearms in the country, lawfully owned by millions for self-defense and sporting purposes, and therefore are protected under the Second Amendment.

The Boulder, Colorado terror attack suspect planned on commiting a mass shooting over the weekend, however, he was stopped from obtaining a firearm due to his immigration status in the United States.

Illegal immigrant Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, who admitted he was planning to carry out the attack a year in advance, also told detectives that he was planning to make the attack a mass shooting. He had even taken a concealed-carry course to learn how to handle a firearm, according to the New York Post.

However, his attempt to purchase a gun was thwarted due to his status in the country illegally after the expiry of his visa, Boulder Judicial District Attorney Michael Dougherty said. Soliman, who is facing a total of 624 years behind bars, appeared in court on Monday afternoon, where he said he understood the orders placed against him involving the 12 victims. It was initially reported that there were eight people injured in the attack before four others came forward with injuries.

Soliman is facing 16 counts of attempted murder, which could result in a prison sentence of up to 384 years if convicted. He also faces 48 years for deploying two Molotov cocktails and another 192 years for allegedly attempting to use 16 additional incendiary devices found nearby. If the rise of antisemitism after Hamas’ surprise October 7, 2023, attack on Israel didn’t indicate that more Jewish Americans should arm themselves, the wave of anti-Jewish assaults that occurred in recent months definitely should.

Fortunately, many Jewish Americans have already recognized this and have begun purchasing firearms at increasing rates. But the terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, shows that not only do more Jewish folks need to become gun owners, but also join the fight against gun control.

In the year following the October 7 attack, antisemitic incidents in the United States have skyrocketed to unprecedented levels, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The organization reported over 10,000 cases—the highest yearly figure since 1979. It represents a 200 percent increase from the previous year.
