The University of Aberdeen in Scotland is investigating a “transgender” employee who publicly celebrated the apparent murder of former British MP Ann Widdecombe.

As covered last week by LifeSiteNews, the 78-year-old Widdecombe was found dead in her Devon, England, home on July 9. Police have not yet announced a suspected motive, but Widdecombe’s death is now being investigated by “counter-terrorism” authorities.

A Catholic convert and pro-life politician who served from 1987 to 2010, Widdecombe endeared herself to Britons with her surprisingly popular appearances on television shows Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother. 

The Herald reports that, in since-deleted BlueSky posts, Aberdeen web developer “Heather” Herbert, a biological male who identifies as female, wrote, “Some good news for once. I hope it was an extremely painful death” and “I hope she was handcuffed to the bed as she screamed in agony.”

Astronomers have detected a type of sugar in space that’s also found in raspberries and self-tanners. The sugar, called erythrulose, lurks in what’s called the interstellar medium: thin clouds of gas and dust littered between stars.

Sugar does more than sweeten tea and powder doughnuts. Different varieties fuel our cells and even make up DNA. Scientists are itching to know how sugars form because they’re a key ingredient for life as we know it.

Using two dish-shaped radio telescopes in Spain, researchers collected data from a large gas cloud near the center of the Milky Way. They identified the sugar in gas form by comparing telescope signals to samples in the lab. It’s the latest kind of sugar detected in space — in a region crossed by NASA’s twin Voyager, the farthest spacecraft to ever travel from Earth.

The continuing drip release of court documents relating to the murder of Henry Nowak has revealed that some of the British teen’s final words to his killer were “I’m not racist”.

Vickrum Digwa, 23, was convicted of murdering student Henry Nowak in May with a ceremonial Sikh knife in Southampton in December of last year. When police reached the scene, Digwa falsely told officers that he had been racially abused by Nowak, prompting officers to arrest and handcuff the dying teen as he was bleeding out on the ground, ignoring his pleas that he had been stabbed and could not breathe.

According to court transcripts obtained by the Sunday Times, a nearby resident told the court that he had heard multiple men “arguing loudly” outside his window, and that one of the men, later identified as Nowak, had said “I’m not racist”, as he lay dying on the ground.

Prosecutor Nicholas Lobbenberg KC told the jury that as Digwa’s brother, Gurpreet, had phoned police and claimed that Nowak had “verbally attacked my brother racially,” Nowak could be heard in the background of the emergency call pleading: “No, I didn’t”.
