President Donald Trump told The Daily Signal he plans to work with Congress to extend the 30-day federalization of the Washington, D.C., police force.

“If it’s a national emergency, we can do it without Congress, but we expect to be before Congress very quickly,” Trump said at a press conference at the Kennedy Center. “And again, we think the Democrats will not do anything to stop crime, but we think the Republicans will do it almost unanimously.”

On Monday, Trump declared a state of emergency in Washington under the Home Rule Act, which allows the president to federalize the metropolitan police for 30 days. He said he plans to ask for “long-term extensions” because 30 days is not long enough.

Elon Musk’s “anti-woke” AI chatbot, Grok, has repeatedly claimed this week that President Donald Trump is Washington D.C.’s “most notorious criminal.”

Elon Musk’s Grok AI responded to user questions about crime in the U.S. capital by asserting that Trump’s felony convictions in New York have earned him the title of the city’s most notorious lawbreaker. The chatbot’s statements come in the wake of Trump’s announcement on Monday, in which he declared plans to federalize D.C.’s police department and deploy National Guard soldiers to the city’s streets, citing what he claims to be an “out of control” crime situation.

In a recent study, researchers at the University of Texas at Austin examined data from Aid Access. This self-identifying “non-profit” telehealth abortion service ships Mifepristone and misoprostol to women in all 50 states. The authors of the study claimed that telemedicine has become a crucial access point for lower-income pregnant women seeking abortions.

Oh, the ignorance of the highly educated.

The study’s glowing headline attempts to frame telehealth abortion as a lifeline for the poor. But when you pull back the curtain, you find a system that offloads risk onto women, shields abortionists from accountability, and leaves some of the most vulnerable in our society alone in pain, sometimes delivering fully formed babies into toilets.

After Roe v. Wade was mercifully overturned in 2022, Aid Access saw usage of its services spike in states with strong pro-life protections. The study found that telehealth abortions were more than twice as high in these states. Why? Abortion providers are skirting protective pro-life laws by mailing pills into states where unfettered abortion is no longer the law of the land.

The latest episode of HBO Max’s hit series Hard Knocks featured a powerful segment on a Buffalo Bills player’s Christian faith.

The moment came during this season’s second episode, which aired on the aforementioned streaming service Tuesday night. The episode featured profiles on several prominent Bills players, including safety Damar Hamlin.

Most Americans are likely familiar with Hamlin from Buffalo’s January 2023 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, during which he had to be driven off the field in an ambulance after abruptly going into cardiac arrest. The University of Pittsburgh alum appears to have made a full recovery in the years since, and returned to the Bills’ lineup as a regular starter in 2024.

While the Hard Knocks segment on Hamlin mentions his freak accident and charitable advocacy for CPR training, the more significant part of the profile is the focus on his Christian faith.

Democrats are arguing that crime in Washington, D.C. is not a real “emergency.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that. Democrats are now placing themselves in the crazy position of not wanting to do something to help alleviate crime because they hate President Donald Trump.

It’s a losing issue. And it’s taking positions like this that may explain why their approval is in the basement.

We’ve outlined a variety of things that have blown up that narrative — from the D.C Police Union saying, yes, there’s a real problem, to even MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough admitting he knew of Democrats and media who were privately cheering Trump’s action.

Dozens of Texas state House Democrats left for other states, including Illinois and New York, this week, preventing state Republicans from doing business in the House on Monday. The remaining representatives voted to issue civil arrest warrants to the Democrats, while Gov. Greg Abbott ordered their arrest later that day.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has sent the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) a request for a treasure trove of documents related to the ongoing federal investigation into the Obama administration’s Russiagate operation, The Federalist has learned. According to a letter to ODNI senior adviser Paul McNamara, which was obtained by The Federalist, the DOJ has requested from ODNI a wide array of documents about the Obama administration’s 2016 and 2017 attempts to frame then-President-elect Donald Trump as an agent of Russia who stole the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton.

The request comes on the heels of the declassification and public release of records from late 2016 and 2017 which show how top intelligence and law enforcement officials — including former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former DNI James Clapper — conspired to fabricate a narrative that Russia meddled in the 2016 election in order to elect Trump. The declassified records showed that top intelligence experts objected to the narrative, highlighted myriad issues with the so-called intelligence used to support false claims about Trump, and even told Brennan that he was misrepresenting facts and ignoring counter-evidence as part of a push to attack Trump, cripple his transition, and even hijack his presidency.

Fox News reported on Monday that the DOJ had authorized the empaneling of a federal grand jury to investigate whether Comey, Brennan, or other top Obama administration officials committed any crimes as part of their operation to use the nation’s top intelligence and law enforcement agencies to smear Trump.

The DOJ letter from a federal prosecutor, which was sent in response to a request from Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard for the DOJ to investigate any potential criminal wrongdoing related to the production of the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that claimed without evidence that Russia sought to elect Trump in 2016, asks for 12 different categories of documents related to Gabbard’s criminal referral.

“Pursuant to the authority and director of the United States Attorney General, I have been assigned responsibility for investigating this criminal referral,” the letter states.

The presentation in support of the measure was made by Right to Life Across Texas. The City of Avery is planning on adding the measure to their next city council meeting agenda for a vote.

Since June 11, 2019, over 90 cities and counties across seven different states have passed local ordinances going as far as they can to protect pregnant mothers and their unborn children from the tragedy of abortion. Over 70 of these cities and counties are in the State of Texas.

Located in Red River County, the City of Avery rests in a county where over 80% of voters cast their ballot for President Donald J. Trump in the 2024 presidential election. According to proposition votes cast during the 2018 and 2022 Republican Party Primaries, many of these Republican voters are strongly pro-life. During the Republican Party Primary in 2018, Red River voters had the opportunity to vote on Proposition #7, which stated, “I believe abortion should be abolished in Texas.” Almost 75% of voters voted in favor of this proposition. During the Republican Party Primary in 2022, Red River voters had the opportunity to vote on Proposition #5, which stated, “Texas should enact a state constitutional amendment to defend the sanctity of innocent human life, created in the image of God, from fertilization until natural death.” Over 90% voted in favor of this proposition.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) avoided questions on the endorsement of socialist candidate for New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani, during a recent CNN interview. This comes after some Democrats have thrown their support behind the far-left candidate, and others have refrained from doing so.

In an interview that aired on Sunday on CNN with Booker, the New Jersey Senator was asked if he supported Mamdani, like other Democrats have done in recent weeks after the socialist candidate beat former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the mayoral primary. “Democratic leaders are not supporting [Mamdani]. Is that a problem? Do you support him?” CNN’s Manu Raju asked.

Booker avoided the question altogether and said that the “lines that divide us in America are not nearly as strong as the ties that bind us.”

“Big corporations, people want to keep our eyes on the screen, want to pit us against each other and tell us how much we should hate each other. I am sorry. The left-right lens is not the right lens to look at this right now,” Booker added. “Right now it is: Can we get back to the pragmatic work of governing?”

After Booker dodged the question, the CNN host pressed him again, asking, “Mamdani, are you going to support him?” Booker declined to endorse the socialist.

In March, the American financial powerhouse BlackRock announced that a group of investors it led had reached a deal with Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings to secure U.S. control over two strategically located ports operated by Hutchison at the Panama Canal. In response, China has been attempting to undermine this agreement. Beijing’s latest stance is to withhold its approval unless a Chinese state-owned enterprise is included as a partner in the deal.

The Panama Canal is a crucial gateway between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and is vital to the economic and strategic interests of the United States. Approximately 70 percent of the goods that pass through the canal either originate from or are destined for U.S. markets, making the U.S. the largest user of the canal.

China views the Panama Canal as a strategic asset for expanding its economic and geopolitical influence in Latin America. On the eve of an audacious plan by Texas Republicans to redraw the state’s congressional districts — possibly assuring the U.S. House GOP another five seats in next year’s election — another Republican lawmaker has struck back with legislation that critics online are calling a betrayal of President Donald Trump.

Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-CA) filed legislation on Monday that, if passed, would prevent all 50 states from redrawing congressional district lines before the 2030 census. The bill comes as Texas Republicans prepare to designate new borders that would create five districts that Trump won by 10 or more points last year.

Kiley said he is seeking to “stop a damaging redistricting war” from kicking off between red and blue states. But critics claim he is only taking up the issue to save his own seat in California.

Citing efforts last year by California Gov. Gavin Newsom to usurp authority from an independent commission, Kiley explained that even his state’s liberal voters disagreed with Newsom when it became clear that he was attempting to eliminate the number of Republican congressmen in California’s federal delegation.

Tyrannical New York Governor Kathy Hochul is fuming over the Texas State Legislature’s decision to engage in mid-decade redistricting to add more Republicans and is determined to counter by any means necessary, regardless of what the law in her state allows.

During a press conference in Albany on Monday, where some of the Texas fleebaggers are residing, Hochul called for the New York Redistricting Commission to be completely disbanded so the state legislature can ram through a heavily gerrymandered map in contrast to the somewhat fair current ones.

“I’m tired of fighting this fight with my hand tied behind my back,” she said. “With all due respect to the good government groups, politics is a political process, and to think we are going to do this with a purity test and make sure it is completely fair to everyone involved…The reason we are able to draw the lines as Democrats is because the majority of people in this state elected us to be leaders.”

“And when we say we cannot use this power to its fullest, we are abdicating the responsibility that we all have. (If) Republicans take over the legislature, they can have at it, but until then, we’re in charge, and we’re sick and tired of being pushed around when other states don’t have the same aspirations that we always have had.”

A significant portion of Democrats have been dissatisfied with their political party, according to a new Associated Press-NORC poll.

The recent poll highlights growing dissatisfaction among Democrats with their own party following a major electoral defeat last November, which saw Donald Trump return to the presidency and Republicans take control of the White House, Senate, and the House of Representatives. The Democratic Party has since faced internal division over its direction, ideological divisions, as well as leadership.

The poll, conducted between July 10 and 14 among 1,437 adults, revealed that 35 percent of Democrats used negative terms to describe their party with words like “weak,” “tepid,” “apathetic,” “ineffective,” and “broken.” In contrast, only 23 percent offered positive descriptors. Among Republicans, 41 percent used positive language to describe their own party, while 19 percent were critical.

Federal Judges Keep Defying Supreme Court Orders Against Trump Admin– dailycaller.com

Federal judges are increasingly ruling against the Trump administration’s agenda and in defiance of Supreme Court orders.

The executive branch finds itself fending off endless counter-opinions from federal judges in the courtroom as it continues to implement its hard-line immigration policies. While the Trump administration has scored major victories in the nation’s highest court, including successfully reining in the scope of nationwide injunctions by federal judges, some have chosen to defy Supreme Court rulings.

U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb, an appointee of the Biden administration, blocked the Trump administration on Friday from using a process known as “expedited removal” to quickly remove illegal migrants from the country, according to court documents. The order could, at least for the time being, dramatically curtail the White House’s ability to carry out its deportation agenda.

In a public statement about the ruling, an administration spokesperson slammed the Biden-appointed judge, accusing her of defying a previous Supreme Court ruling.

The Secret Service, which once had a reputation for steadfast apolitical professionalism, found itself on the cusp of making an utterly mystifying decision before a Republican senator intervened with some pointed questions. Incredibly, officials were about to rubber-stamp the renewal of former Director Kimberly Cheatle’s top-level security clearance: the very same Cheatle whose disastrous leadership enabled the security meltdown that nearly claimed Donald Trump’s life in Butler, Pa.

It’s only when RealClearPolitics pressed for comment on Sen. Ron Johnson’s (R-Wis.) opposition that the agency recoiled and changed course. Johnson indicated that granting Cheatle a renewed security clearance after she resigned in disgrace was unthinkable: “Following the security debacle in Butler, the former director of USSS made the right decision to resign. I see no reason for her security clearance to be reinstated.”

Cheatle’s disastrous tenure ended the only way it could, drowned in a flood of bipartisan outrage. According to insiders, her team repeatedly shot down requests for more resources during Trump’s campaign. After the stunning security failure in Butler, public fury was swift, including from Congress.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), after jointly probing the agency’s failures, asserted that Cheatle would stain the Secret Service forever and that her attempted security clearance renewal compounded the shame. “Kim Cheatle disgraced the Secret Service by failing to prevent a horrifying attempt on President Trump’s life,”

Blackburn said flatly. Her condemnation didn’t end there. Blackburn skewered Cheatle’s stonewalling of oversight and refusal to answer hard questions, recalling how she literally ran away from senators demanding accountability at the GOP convention just days after the shooting.

Sen. Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican who chairs the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and previously chaired the full Homeland Security panel, argued that Cheatle should not have her security clearance renewed after her leadership decisions contributed to the agency’s numerous failures surrounding the assassination attempt against Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“Following the security debacle in Butler, the former director of USSS made the right decision to resign,” Johnson told RCP. “I see no reason for her security clearance to be reinstated.”

Asked for comment on Johnson’s opposition, the Secret Service issued a vague statement saying Secret Service Director Sean Curran, a Trump appointee, had decided that “not all former directors” should have their security clearances renewed.

Cheatle called it “the most significant operational failure of the Secret Service in decades,” but she refused to step down until mounting pressure, failed testimony, and threats of contempt finally forced her out. She left quietly, without punishment or accountability.

Recommended: Former FBI Director Wray Hit With Criminal Referral for Lying To Congress

But the fallout didn’t end with Cheatle’s quiet exit. On the anniversary of the assassination attempt, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) dropped a bombshell report accusing Cheatle of flat-out lying about denied security requests. Meanwhile, a damning GAO report confirmed what many suspected: Secret Service brass were warned about a potential Iranian threat ten days before the rally, then failed to share that intel with agents tasked with protecting the former president.

So far, Congress hasn’t referred criminal charges, but House Oversight Chair James Comer isn’t closing the door. If it turns out Cheatle misled investigators, he says, the committee “will respond.” At the very least, the public deserves answers, something Cheatle has evaded from day one.

Now, with Director Sean Curran at the helm, there’s a sign that the old D.C. playbook may finally be getting tossed. For too long, former officials enjoyed unfettered access to classified materials under the guise of “advisory” roles or smooth transitions. In reality, that access often just meant fatter paychecks, cushier gigs, and a louder megaphone for disgraced bureaucrats who refuse to leave the stage.

A federal appeals court on Friday paused a lower court injunction that had blocked the Trump administration from ending union bargaining rights for thousands of federal workers at 21 agencies.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit granted an emergency stay sought by the administration, putting on hold a preliminary injunction issued by District Judge James Donato in June in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and five other unions representing federal employees.

The unions sought to challenge President Donald Trump’s March 27 executive order, which aimed to eliminate collective bargaining rights for employees of government agencies with national security missions.

In a 15-page decision, the San Francisco-based Ninth Circuit panel stated that the government is likely to succeed on the merits of the plaintiffs’ retaliation claim, finding that Trump’s order does not, on its face, “express any retaliatory animus.”

“Even assuming that plaintiffs have made out a prima facie claim of retaliation, on this record the government has shown that the president would have taken the same action even in the absence of the protected conduct,” the judges stated.

President Donald Trump spent the last few months of his 2024 campaign promising to force taxpayers to foot the bill for a procedure that routinely destroys human life. His plans to pave the way for Americans to make “more babies” by subsidizing in vitro fertilization, however, are allegedly on hold.

The Washington Post reported that as of Sunday, Trump’s White House is allegedly “backing away from proposals discussed internally to mandate IVF coverage for the roughly 50 million people on the Obamacare exchanges.”

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told WaPo that Trump “pledged to expand access to fertility treatments for Americans who are struggling to start families” and is still “committed like none before it to using its authorities to deliver on this pledge.” As of now, however, that goal reportedly does not include taxpayer-funded IVF.

WaPo’s chief economics reporter Jeff Stein painted the decision as “another apparent L from this admin for the conservative natalists.”
