President Donald Trump has criticized California for its vote-counting delay in the gubernatorial and Los Angeles mayoral races, accusing the state’s Democratic leaders of “BIG cheating.”

While California polls closed at 8 p.m. local time on Tuesday, that state’s counting appears to remain at a standstill as of Thursday morning.

‘Here we go with the very late and massive numbers of MAIL IN BALLOTS.’

Only 56% of the votes have been counted in the race for governor and 62% in the mayoral election, according to the Associated Press. This is a 2% decrease for both races compared to Wednesday morning.

In the race to replace Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, former Fox News host and small-business owner Steve Hilton (R) currently holds a slight lead over former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra (D), and climate advocate and businessman Tom Steyer (D) remains in third position.

Mullin is a member of the Cherokee Nation and the first Native American to serve as DHS Secretary.

During a tense Homeland Security Committee hearing in the House on Wednesday, Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) confronted DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin over alleged inhumane conditions at Delaney Hall, a federal immigration detention facility in Newark, New Jersey. Mullin is a member of the Cherokee Nation and the first Native American to serve in his position.

McIver, visibly frustrated, told Mullin: “Secretary Mullin, you talk about racism a lot in today’s hearing. You know what’s racist? It’s the fact that every detainee in Delaney Hall is a person of color. The cruelty runs to the top of DHS,” she went on, “weaponizing the immigration system for your president and this administration’s racist grievances.” Delaney Hall is an immigration enforcement facility in a state with nearly half a million illegal immigrants who are primarily Hispanic.

McIver began the interaction by asking Mullin if he had ever visited Delaney Hall, to which Mullin said no before going on to read an open letter signed by detainees at the Newark-based detention facility. The New Jersey representative read the letter, which detailed alleged unsanitary conditions and inedible food. DHS alleges that the food and conditions are fine and notes that those detained could leave at any time and head back to their home countries. They are detained while waiting for their immigration hearings.

When a politician surrenders time in front of a microphone, it’s a politician surrendering the field.

But that’s what happened when Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean tried to take on acting Attorney General Todd Blanche Tuesday during a House Appropriations Committee hearing.

And it was a question about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation that did her in.

Following the playbook of Democrats across the country (and a regrettable number of President Donald Trump’s critics on the right), Dean used the sordid Epstein saga as an attack tool to undermine Trump and his administration as a whole.

But as shown in a video posted Wednesday to a Justice Department account on the social media platform X, Blanche wasn’t backing away.

This takes us to an eye-opening new Gallup poll that was released on June 3:

Approval of same-sex marriage, moral acceptance of gay and lesbian relations, and endorsement of gender changes are all down from peaks reached in the early 2020s.

While most Americans still favor legal same-sex marriages, the 65% who do so today is down six percentage points from the peak in 2022 and 2023. Similarly, the percentage viewing gay or lesbian relations as morally acceptable, 62%, has not been lower since 2016. And the share of Americans who consider changing one’s gender morally acceptable has declined eight points over the past five years, to 38%.

On three key LGBTQ issues — same-sex marriage, the morality of homosexuality, and gender identity — Gallup’s polling data told the same exact story: Popularity for all three skyrocketed between the 2010s and the early 2020s. The future, it seemed, was pro-trans and pro-LGBTQ.

But over the past few years, the pendulum swung HARD in the opposite direction:

Between 1996 and 2022, the percentage of U.S. adults in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage increased by 44 points, from 27% to 71%. In 2024, the figure dipped to 69%, and it has shown a marginal decline each year since.

Gallup first asked about the morality of same-sex relations in 2001, when 40% said they were morally acceptable. By 2022, 71% held that view, before a sharp drop to 64% in 2023, holding at about that level during the past three years.

When Gallup first asked about changing one’s gender in 2021, 46% found it morally acceptable, and 51% found it morally wrong. Today, those numbers stand at 38% and 57%, respectively.

President Donald Trump is accusing the federal judge who blocked his plans for the Kennedy Center of having a serious conflict of interest, pointing to the judge’s wife and her extensive ties to high-profile Democrats, the Jan. 6 committee, and several prominent Trump adversaries.

The criticism follows a ruling by U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, an Obama appointee, who rejected efforts to rename the Kennedy Center after President Trump and halted plans tied to the administration’s broader vision for the institution.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump argued that Cooper’s wife, attorney Amy Jeffress, has deep connections to individuals and causes aligned against him and suggested those relationships should have required the judge to step aside from the case.

Wisconsin Democrat Gov. Tony Evers is doubling down on seemingly defying a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling on so-called “conversion therapy” for children.

The moment came during a Monday “Pride Flag Raising” event at the State Capitol. While flanked by attendees waiving rainbow flags, the left-wing governor bragged about vetoing bills passed by the Republican-controlled General Assembly that he claimed “target[ed]” so-called “trans kids” and “harm[ed] the health, safety, and security of LGBTQ Wisconsinites.”

In doing so, Evers went on to tout a June 2021 executive order he signed “banning the use of state and federal funds for conversion therapy on our kids.” The governor’s administration also adopted a rule declaring it “unprofessional conduct” for any state Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, and Social Work Examining Board licensee to provide therapy that tells the truth about sex and gender ideology. The regulation took effect last year following a favorable ruling from Wisconsin’s liberal Supreme Court.

the most explosive allegations in this indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) are not simply financial irregularities—they amount to accusations of a long-running scheme to secretly funnel donor money to leaders of white supremacist, neo-Nazi, and Ku Klux Klan organizations while publicly fundraising off opposition to those same groups.

Both the national president of the American Front and the Imperial Wizard of the United Klan were allegedly on the SPLC payroll.

The move was in response to Republican opposition over the optics of taxpayers footing the $220 million bill for ballroom security and the Senate parliamentarian’s determination that the funding did not comply with rules of reconciliation, the filibuster-skirting process the party is using to bypass Democrats.

The updated text, released by the Senate Judiciary Committee ahead of a procedural vote Wednesday afternoon to advance the bill, also removed additional funding for the Justice Department.

The roughly $70 billion measure centers on funding federal immigration agencies and the Department of Homeland Security through 2029 after Democrats blocked money for the agencies in government funding legislation earlier this year to protest Trump’s deportation agenda. It is known as the SECURE America Act.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said the bill ensures DHS funding can no longer be “held hostage by Democrats’ radical leftist agenda.”

In late May 2021, the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation claimed that ground-penetrating radar had revealed hundreds of graves near the site of a former school in Kamloops, British Columbia.
