The House Judiciary Committee released a report July 22 revealing that the Biden-era FBI devoted far more federal law enforcement resources to surveilling Catholics than previously known, while failing to disclose the full extent of its operations to Congress.

Titled “Report: How the Biden-Wray FBI Manufactured a False Narrative of Catholic Americans as Violent Extremists,” the report centers on newly released documents that contradict former FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony claiming the anti-Catholic 2023 Richard memo was an isolated incident. That memo, circulated by the FBI’s Richmond Field Office, labeled “radical traditionalist Catholics” as “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists.”

According to a July 22 press release from the committee, under the leadership of FBI Director Kash Patel, the FBI has turned over more than 1,300 pages of internal documents detailing the agency’s wide-ranging surveillance of Catholics under the Biden administration.

As PJ Media previously reported, Ron Klain, Joe Biden’s former chief of staff, has decided to cooperate with the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline and the use of an autopen to sign executive orders and pardons without his knowledge. Klain appeared for a closed-door meeting this week, and in a surprising break from the evasive tactics of other former aides and even Biden’s personal physician, he actually answered questions.

Lawmakers from both parties described Klain’s testimony as credible and refreshingly candid. He didn’t dodge. He didn’t deflect. Instead, he painted a troubling picture of a presidency plagued by fatigue and worsening cognitive issues.

What exactly did Klain say behind closed doors? Thanks to a new report from the New York Post, we now have a much clearer idea.

Klain, who was part of the now-infamous “Politburo” running the show behind the scenes, stopped short of saying that Biden was unfit to govern or too old to seek re-election in 2024, but he did acknowledge that the president’s forgetfulness and confusion have noticeably worsened over time.

Former White House chief of staff Ron Klain revealed Thursday that former President Joe Biden wasn’t seen as “politically viable” by either his national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, or by ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during his final year in office, a source told The Post.

[…]

But the longtime adviser admitted his boss was “less energetic,” had a poorer memory and frequently mixed up names — a problem that worsened with time, the source added.

Sullivan confided to Klain that Biden was also “less effective” in 2024 than in 2022, the source noted.

Elsewhere in his interview, Klain divulged that he’d donated $5,000 for then-first son Hunter Biden’s legal defense fund at the behest of attorney Abbe Lowell, who repped the younger Biden.

The committee pressed Klain on everything from Biden’s use of sleep aids, which some allege contributed to his debate fiasco against Donald Trump, to internal White House preparations as the president’s faculties slipped. He revealed that by the time Biden was prepping for the catastrophic June 2024 debate, the president was exhausted, “out of it,” and much more fixated on NATO than on the basic duties of American leadership. The man running for reelection seemed more like a figurehead than a commander-in-chief.

Recommended: Barack Obama ‘Not Going to Be Indicted’ but There’s Good News

Klain’s testimony echoed the bombshell revelations recently chronicled in the media and insider accounts. He recalled an atmosphere where decisions were being rubber-stamped by a handful of unelected aides while Biden faded further into the background. Klain described a president whose memory for names and events was alarmingly poor and declining rapidly. Still, the inner circle propped him up and kept the American people in the dark. In his words and actions, Klain demonstrated that the “internal concerns” within the Democratic Party were not mere rumors but were rooted in firsthand observation and secret backroom discussions.

The former chief of staff also detailed how top Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and Jake Sullivan, expressed serious doubts about Biden’s fitness well before the 2024 election disaster. Sullivan supposedly told Klain that Biden was clearly less effective in 2024 than he had been just two years earlier, an astonishing admission from the very heart of the Democratic establishment. These misgivings didn’t just come out of nowhere; they bubbled up as it became impossible to ignore Biden’s “tired and ill” demeanor ahead of his head-to-head with Trump.

Perhaps even more striking, Klain didn’t indulge the media’s desperate attempts to shift blame to ageism or distraction. He reportedly told investigators that he saw no reason to question Trump’s own mental acuity, a subtle but unmistakable rebuke of the left’s favorite whataboutism over the past half-decade.

Recommended: Kamala’s Former Flame Willie Brown Burns Her Political Comeback Dreams

In testifying, Klain didn’t completely peel back the curtain, but he confirmed what millions have suspected for years and quietly indicted the Democratic machine that worked overtime to conceal Biden’s decline. No, he didn’t come right out and declare Biden unfit to serve; he would never do that, but he didn’t have to.

The picture he painted was damning enough: a president growing visibly weaker, a White House staff walking on eggshells, and top Democrats privately panicking while publicly insisting all was well. Klain’s account may have been measured, but the implications are anything but. The real scandal isn’t just Biden’s condition; it’s how long they all lied to cover it up.

Enough is enough. Democrats hid the truth about Biden’s decline while America hung in the balance. PJ Media refuses to let these cover-ups slide. Joe Biden has been cashing in since leaving the Oval Office.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Joe Biden sold his presidential memoir to a publisher for $10 million.

The number may sound high, but it’s significantly lower than the deals Barack Obama and Bill Clinton received.

The New York Post shared more details on the deal and how it compares to previous presidents:

Former President Biden has sold his presidential memoir for a $10 million advance – far less than the lucrative deals won by the Obamas and Bill Clinton, according to a report.

Biden, 82, made a deal with Hachette Book Group for an advance of around $10 million, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal.

The book’s publisher, Hachette’s Little, Brown & Co., has not yet set a publication date.

Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama, meanwhile, sold the rights to their memoirs to Penguin Random House for a record-breaking $60 million in 2017.

Alfred A. Knopf, which is owned by Penguin Random House’s parent firm Bertelsmann, paid $15 million for former President Bill Clinton’s 2004 memoir “My Life.”

President Trump did not publish a presidential memoir after his first term.

Israeli authorities have arrested and indicted a woman in her 70s, described as a terminally ill anti-government activist, for conspiring to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu using a rocket-propelled grenade or explosive device according to KAN public broadcaster.

The suspect, a resident of Tel Aviv, was detained approximately two weeks ago following intelligence gathering and a police investigation led by the Shin Bet security service. Police say she sought help from fellow activists to acquire weapons and gather detailed information about Netanyahu’s security arrangements.

The indictment states the suspect “was involved in political protest activities against the Israeli government” and, after receiving a terminal diagnosis, decided to attempt assassination as a “sacrifice” to save the state.

She revealed her assassination plan to another activist and asked him to assist her in acquiring a rocket-propelled grenade for the attack.

In an awkward moment for Powell (X).

Donald Trump clashed with Jay Powell during a visit to the Federal Reserve’s headquarters on Thursday in a rare public confrontation between a US president and central bank chief. The two men, who had donned white hard hats as they surveyed the refurbishment of the Fed’s Marriner S Eccles headquarters in Washington, quarrelled in televised remarks over the costs of the project. “We’re taking a look, and it looks like it’s about $3.1bn, it went up a little bit, or a lot. So the 2.7 is now 3.1,” Trump said moments after beckoning Powell to come into the centre of the camera frame. Powell shook his head and interrupted the president, saying he was “not aware” that the cost of the project had risen from the central bank’s estimate of $2.5bn. “It just came out,” Trump said, removing a piece of paper from his pocket as they stood side-by-side in a corridor with exposed wood framing and construction equipment …. Trump said on Thursday that there was “no tension” between him and Powell. “I have one dispute . . . I just want to see one thing it’s very simple, interest rates have to come down,” he said. He added that he “didn’t think it was necessary” to fire Powell, whose term as chair expires in May 2026 (Financial Times).

Less than a day after the Trump administration announced its ambitious plan to lead the world in the AI industry, news broke that China has accessed high-tech AI chips on the black market despite U.S. industry protections, threatening America’s competitive advantage in the cutthroat industry.

The Financial Times reported on Thursday that China has been selling and receiving cutting-edge AI chips on the black market despite Trump’s export controls and tariffs to curb Chinese access to leading technologies.

‘Trying to cobble together data centers from smuggled products is a losing proposition, both technically and economically.’

The report went on to say that more than $1 billion worth of NVIDIA B200 chips has been sold on the black market in China. Lawyers familiar with the trade rules told FT that while it is legal to sell and receive restricted chips within China, on the condition that the proper tariffs are paid, entities selling and sending them to China would be violating U.S. regulations.

The report indicated that NVIDIA was not aware of these illegal sales by third parties.

Columbia University’s famed pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil said it is “absurd” and “disingenuous” to ask him if he condemns the terrorist group Hamas.

Khalil repeatedly avoided answering the direct question during a recent interview on CNN. The Trump administration tried to deport Khalil and accused him of lying on his visa application after he omitted his work with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

The Trump administration is also seeking to deport Khalil, an Algerian national, on the grounds he is sympathetic to Hamas and is promoting antisemitism.

“Just to be clear here, do you specifically condemn Hamas, a designated terrorist organization in the United States, not just for their action on Oct. 7?” CNN’s Pamela Brown asked Khalil on Tuesday.

“I condemn the killing of all civilians, full stop,” Khalil said. Brown asked again, but Khalil kept talking.

“To me, it‘s always, as I said, disingenuous and absurd to ask such questions when literally 62,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel,” he said. “And that‘s why I wouldn‘t really engage much into such questions on condemnation or not. Because selective condemnation wouldn‘t get us anywhere. It’s just like [hypocritical] to be honest.”

A fleet of junta military vessels moving upstream along the Ayeyarwady River resumed its journey from Htigyaing Township on the morning of 23 July, according to the Htigyaing Revolution (TR) group.

The fleet, composed of cargo ships and river warships enroute to Bhamo, halted overnight in Htigyaing on 22 July before continuing its advance. As of 11:15 am on 23 July, the vessels were reportedly near Dingyi Kya village in Htigyaing Township.

“They’ve already left. The situation hasn’t changed much yet. They’re near Dingyi Kya village in Htigyaing Township. There hasn’t been any airstrike so far,” a TR official told reporters.

In anticipation of possible conflict, the Bhamo District People’s Defence Force Battalion 1 issued a public warning on 22 July, urging residents of riverside villages to evacuate immediately. The group also cautioned against traveling along the river, holding festivals, or attending public gatherings due to the risk of air and naval attacks as the fleet approaches.

While socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani touts government-run grocery stores for the Big Apple, Kansas City, Mo.’s subsidized supermarket is struggling with empty shelves and mounting financial losses even after city officials poured in millions to keep it afloat.

KC Sun Fresh, which opened in 2018 inside a city-owned strip mall and was taken over by a nonprofit in 2022, is now on the brink of closure amid spiraling crime, plummeting sales, and empty shelves, according to the Washington Post. The store “lost $885,000 last year and now has only about 4,000 shoppers a week,” the Post reported. “Despite a recent $750,000 cash infusion from the city, the shelves are almost bare.”

Mamdani—the frontrunner in New York City’s mayoral election following his upset Democratic primary win over former governor Andrew Cuomo—has campaigned on opening similar supermarkets in the city. While Kansas City merely subsidized KC Sun Fresh, though, New York City would own and operate the stories under Mamdani’s proposal.

In announcing last week that there has been an 830 percent increase in violence against federal immigration agents, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) placed the blame squarely on false media reports and unhinged claims by left-wing politicians.

They’re absolutely right.

All we’ve heard for months from Democrat members of Congress, governors, mayors, and other radical politicians are exaggerations, incitement, and flat-out lies about the federal effort to legally deport criminal aliens and all we’ve seen in response are daily riots, protests, and direct attacks against both Immigration Custom, and Enforcement (ICE) agents and Customs and Border Patrol (CPB) officers.

And the mainstream media has been only too happy to parrot that dangerous rhetoric while also largely ignoring their own role in bringing about harm to law enforcement officers.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard did an excellent service to our nation this week when she released a declassified version of a critical September 2020 House Intelligence Committee staff report on a major January 2017 intelligence report, known as an Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), titled “Russia’s Influence Campaign Targeting the 2016 US Presidential Election.”

Gabbard’s decision came after a years-long tug-of-war over the release of this report between Republican members of Congress who believe it provides critical information about the Russia collusion hoax and the involvement of Obama officials and the U.S. Intelligence Community versus Democratic congressmen and deep state intelligence officials who have desperately tried to hide this report from the American public.

Press accounts have reported most of the essential details of the House report, such as how it was rushed out on President Obama’s orders to be published just before Trump’s first inauguration in January 2017. Media stories have also detailed how substandard intelligence was used to justify the ICA’s finding that Russia meddled in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win and that this bad intelligence was included on the orders of CIA Director John Brennan over the objections of senior CIA analysts. The media has also reported the House Intelligence report’s finding that a hand-picked group of five analysts wrote the ICA and that it was not adequately vetted by U.S. intelligence agencies and analysts. It is also clear in the House report that, despite numerous statements by Brennan denying it, the fraudulent Steele dossier was heavily used in the ICA.

In just a few days, an asteroid the size of an airplane will pass by Earth, but there’s no need to ring the alarm bells. That’s because the asteroid, named 2025 OW, is sure to miss our planet as it makes its closest approach on Monday, July 28, 2025.

While some may break out in a cold sweat hearing about a passing asteroid, astronomers are almost never flustered by this kind of event. With the help of data collected by observatories, they know that 2025 OW — and thousands of other asteroids coursing through space right now — pose no threat to our planet. Even though 2025 OW won’t impact Earth, the need to keep a close eye on similar asteroids remains a round-the-clock priority.

An Asteroid Approach Forecast

It should come as comforting news that asteroid approaches happen all the time with no repercussions. In fact, multiple asteroids are approaching within the next week. But with the exception of 2025 OW, they’ll all be more than a million miles away from Earth. Also, none of the asteroids are large enough to raise concern.

From CNN. “To hear health officials in the Trump administration talk, artificial intelligence has arrived in Washington to fast-track new life-saving drugs to market, streamline work at the vast, multibillion-dollar health agencies, and be a key assistant in the quest to slash wasteful government spending without jeopardizing their work.

“The AI revolution has arrived,” Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has declared at congressional hearings in the past few months.

“We are using this technology already at HHS to manage health care data, perfectly securely, and to increase the speed of drug approvals,” he told the House Energy and Commerce Committee in June. The enthusiasm — among some, at least — was palpable.

Weeks earlier, the US Food and Drug Administration, the division of HHS that oversees vast portions of the American pharmaceutical and food system, had unveiled Elsa, an artificial intelligence tool intended to dramatically speed up drug and medical device approvals.

Yet behind the scenes, the agency’s slick AI project has been greeted with a shrug — or outright alarm.

Six current and former FDA officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive internal work told CNN that Elsa can be useful for generating meeting notes and summaries, or email and communique templates.

There’s a storm brewing at Constitution Avenue, and it’s not just bad economics , it’s a full-on institutional rot. That’s the big takeaway from a fiery Friday WarRoom conversation between Steve Bannon and David Malpass-former president of the World Bank, as they dug into the Federal Reserve’s massive bloat, bad models, and its role in stifling American prosperity. With President Donald Trump back in office and laser-focused on rebuilding the American economy, this conversation hit a nerve , and laid out why the Fed may be standing in his way.

First, the numbers: the Fed’s new office construction project has ballooned from an already bloated $1.8 billion to a staggering $3.1 billion. “Massive cost overrun,” Bannon called it, and Malpass agreed, saying it speaks to a deeper problem inside the Fed’s entire structure. “Central banks are part of government, so they grow just like everything else in government — inefficient and expensive,” Malpass explained.

But this isn’t just about bad budgeting. Bannon and Malpass pointed to a systemic issue , outdated economic models, bloated payrolls, and a refusal to adapt. “They’ve got 8,000 people working on these broken models,” said Bannon, referencing how interest rate policies have been based on flawed assumptions for decades. According to Malpass, these models are “wrong, and they deny it.”

And who pays for all of this?  Taxpayers do through high interest rates, weak wage growth, and a distorted economy that favors foreign production. “People are getting poorer,” Malpass warned, “and Trump’s trying to fix that.”

A stage of the Tour de France has been shortened to avoid a herd of diseased cows, organisers said.

Stage 19 of the 21-stage competition through the mountains from Albertville to La Plagne was cut from nearly 130km to 95km (81 miles to 59 miles), eliminating two of the five planned climbs.

Organisers shortened the stage due to an outbreak of “contagious nodular dermatitis” found in a herd of cows in Col des Saisies, a 13.7km (8.5-mile) climb.

“The discovery of an outbreak of contagious nodular dermatitis affecting cattle in a herd located specifically in the Col des Saisies has necessitated the culling of the animals,” the organisers of the Tour de France, ASO, said in a statement late Thursday.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has weighed in on allegations that former president Barack Obama and his national security team created a false intelligence community assessment in order to target Donald Trump following his election in 2016.

In a post on X, Lee noted that in the 1970s the Frank Church committee concluded that every administration since the era of Woodrow Wilson has used the nation’s intelligence-gathering communities for political espionage.

Lee suggested that it would be foolish to believe that this no longer happens and that, while people have brushed it aside for years, the practice can no longer be ignored.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since the Democratic Party launched its soft coup against the political liability that was Joe Biden.

Thursday marked the day President(?) Joe Biden delivered a mushed-mouth Oval Office speech to further explain “his decision” to end his run for a second presidential term. He claimed, as he struggled to read the teleprompter, that he was putting the country and democracy above “personal ambition.”

What a guy.

“When you elected me to this office, I promised to always level with you, to tell you the truth,” Biden said. It was a bold statement from a man and an administration that had routinely lied to the American people for four long years.

In fact, some very powerful people in his party were not only telling him to get the hell out of the way, they were forcing the issue. You’ll recall Biden’s meltdown in his disastrous late-June debate against then-presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump. That was the “Oh, (expletive deleted)” moment for a Democrat Party in mid-implosion. George Clooney lamented in a New York Times’ op-ed that Joe Biden was a shell of his old “Big F-ing deal” self, and Nancy Pelosi performed her best Lady Macbeth behind the scenes as dozens of liberal members of Congress did the dirty work on stage.

The more advanced artificial intelligence (AI) gets, the more capable it is of scheming and lying to meet its goals — and it even knows when it’s being evaluated, research suggests.

Evaluators at Apollo Research found that the more capable a large language model (LLM) is, the better it is at “context scheming” — in which an AI pursues a task covertly even if it misaligns with the aims of its operators.

The more capable models are also more strategic about achieving their goals, including misaligned goals, and would be more likely to use tactics like deception, the researchers said in a blog post.

Using a declassified document released this week, it has never been easier to see how the propaganda press partners with politicians to hoodwink the public and shape the political landscape.

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, released a 2020 Oversight Investigation and Referral report about a 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) titled, “Russia’s Influence Campaign Targeting the 2016 US Presidential Election.”

It showed that under the direction of former President Barack Obama, then-CIA Director John Brennan and a handful of intelligence agents slapped together an ICA in two weeks, soon after Hillary Clinton lost the election. The ICA was used as the foundation of the Russia collusion hoax — the lie that Trump and Russia together cheated to win the 2016 election.

But the ICA was a terrible foundation for such a claim, because it was hastily written and had sketchy sourcing, including the fabricated and now debunked Steele dossier; and a six-word fragment of a sentence that mentioned Trump out of context. The report shows that intelligence agents argued with Brennen, telling him not to use information that was substandard, unclear, of uncertain origin, biased, or implausible.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard just released a trove of apparently once-classified documents—with promises of much more to follow.

The new material describes the role of the Obama administration’s intelligence and investigatory directors—purportedly along with former President Barack Obama himself—in undermining the 2016 Trump presidential campaign. In addition, their efforts extended to sabotaging the 2016-2017 presidential transition and, by extension, the first three years of the Trump presidency.

The released documents add some new details to what over the last decade has become accepted knowledge.

Congressional committees, special prosecutors, and the inspectors general had all previously issued reports that largely confirmed the general outlines of the skulduggery that began in 2015-16.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign, later aided by the top echelon of the FBI, CIA, and the director of national intelligence, sought—falsely—to seed a narrative that Donald Trump had colluded directly with Russia to win unfairly the 2016 election.

A newly submitted Senate amendment aims to reverse a key victory for gun owners: the elimination of the $200 tax on National Firearms Act (NFA) items. Senate Amendment 2973, introduced by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), would raise the tax on NFA-regulated firearms such as suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns to $4,709 — even though Congress recently reduced the same tax to $0 in the One, Big, Beautiful Bill (OBBB).

How the NFA Tax Was Lowered to $0

The reduction was part of a carefully structured reconciliation effort that unfolded over months. Lawmakers originally intended to include the full Hearing Protection Act (HPA) and SHORT Act in the OBBB, which would have fully removed suppressors and other NFA items from regulation. However, because reconciliation rules limit what types of provisions can be included, particularly under the Senate’s Byrd Rule, much of the original repeal language was excluded.

Instead, the House and Senate agreed on a strategy to zero out the NFA tax via a tax-focused provision. This change was upheld by the Senate Parliamentarian and supported by Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), who declined to override the Parliamentarian’s rulings throughout the process. The bill passed both chambers, and President Donald Trump signed it into law on July 4, 2025.

When models attempt to get their way or become overly accommodating to the user, it can mean trouble for enterprises. That is why it’s essential that, in addition to performance evaluations, organizations conduct alignment testing.

However, alignment audits often present two major challenges: scalability and validation. Alignment testing requires a significant amount of time for human researchers, and it’s challenging to ensure that the audit has caught everything.

In a paper, Anthropic researchers said they developed auditing agents that achieved “impressive performance at auditing tasks, while also shedding light on their limitations.” The researchers stated that these agents, created during the pre-deployment testing of Claude Opus 4, enhanced alignment validation tests and enabled researchers to conduct multiple parallel audits at scale. Anthropic also released a replication of its audit agents on GitHub

“We introduce three agents that autonomously complete alignment auditing tasks. We also introduce three environments that formalize alignment auditing workflows as auditing games, and use them to evaluate our agents,” the researcher said in the paper.

Planned Parenthood has just filed a lawsuit in Nevada that seeks to allow the organization to keep teenagers’ abortions hidden from their parents.

For decades, Nevada’s Republican-led legislature has fought to enforce a law requiring that parents be notified before an abortion is performed on a minor.

Now, just as the law is on the verge of enforcement, a lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood Mar Monte aims to keep the law in legal limbo, claiming that it violates the state’s constitution.

The law, passed in 1985, was immediately met with resistance.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals placed it on permanent hold, blocking its enforcement for years.

However, the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson decision, which overturned the nationwide right to abortion, revived the issue, paving the way for the law’s potential enforcement.
