Ukraine’s military says it has struck one of Russia’s main explosives factory as well as an oil terminal in Russian-occupied Crimea.

“Numerous explosions” were reported after the strike at the Y M Sverdlov plant in Dzerzhinsk, which makes explosives for ammunition for Russia’s armed forces, the Ukrainian general staff said in a statement.

The attacks were carried out as part of a strategy to reduce Russia‘s “offensive potential, as well as its missile and bomb capabilities”, the general staff said.

It added that the plant was one of Moscow’s largest producers of explosives, which are used in a wide variety of ammunition for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s forces, including aviation and artillery shells, fighter jet bombs, anti-tank guided missiles and warheads for air defence missile systems.

Regional governor Gleb Nikitin said air defence forces had repelled an overnight attack by 20 drones near Dzerzhinsk. He said one person was injured by falling debris.

Mr Nikitin said there was fire damage to residential homes but “no damage was caused to industrial facilities”.

Sky News’s security and defence editor Deborah Haynes has described the targeting of the factory as “huge”.

According to internal records reviewed by Rep. Nancy Mace, from 2019 to 2022, the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office (SCAG), under Wilson’s leadership, handled 385 warrants for child pornography cases in Dorchester County, yet only 29 resulted in convictions.

That’s a conviction rate of just 7.5%, with 356 cases dismissed outright and not a single one taken to trial.

The British government is quietly pushing through legislation that critics warn will expand cradle-to-grave surveillance, override parental rights, and lay the foundation for a dystopian control grid targeting children.

Branded the “Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill,” the measure is being sold to the public as a way to “safeguard” children and improve welfare.

In reality, the bill aligns seamlessly with the government’s digital ID agenda and globalist goals that have nothing to do with protecting children.

Introduced in December 2024, the legislation has already passed three readings in the House of Commons and is now before the House of Lords.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an ultimatum on Thursday to universities in the state, warning them that entering an agreement with the Trump administration will put them directly at odds with the governor.

After the White House proposed a deal to nine universities promising that compliance with the administration’s agenda could grant them priority treatment in funding decisions, Newsom issued a harsh warning to any “sell-out universities” that might accept it.

The offer in Trump’s “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education” asks schools to stop racially discriminating in admissions and hiring decisions and commit to institutional neutrality and upholding free speech. Newsom said any school that complies with the federal government will “lose billions in state funding” instead.

“If any California University signs this radical agreement, they’ll lose billions in state funding — including Cal Grants — instantly,” Newsom said in a press release. “California will not bankroll schools that sell out their students, professors, researchers, and surrender academic freedom.”
