Kyren Lacy, a former standout wide receiver at LSU who had declared for the NFL draft, was found dead in Houston Saturday night, his attorney confirmed Sunday. He was 24-years-old.

The cause of death is suspected to be suicide, according to a report from the New York Post. Houston police referred media inquiries to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office, which did not immediately respond to an email from The Associated Press on Sunday.

Lacy was set to stand trial over his alleged involvement in a fatal car crash that killed a 78-year-old man in Louisiana this past December.

Police allege that Lacy was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger south on a Louisiana highway and “recklessly passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed” and entered the oncoming lane in a no passing zone, according to police documents obtained by local outlet WAFB. A truck was forced to swerve in order to avoid a collision with Lacy’s vehicle, at which point the vehicle behind it collided with another vehicle going in the opposite direction.

“Following the crash, Lacy drove around the crash scene and fled south on LA Hwy 20 without stopping to render aid, call emergency services, or report his involvement in the crash,” police documents allege.

“I will never understand why!!! I am so lost and broken. This was the same dog who was side by side with my baby every single day.”

A seven-month-old baby girl was mauled to death by a family pit bull in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday.

The infant, Elizah Turner, was attacked at her home by one of the family’s three pit bulls. She was rushed to a nearby fire station and then transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital around 11:43 am, where she was pronounced dead.

Columbus Police Sgt. James Fuqua called the incident tragic and said that it was unclear which of the multiple dogs home at the time of the attack was responsible.

“There is really not a lot of words I can say to convey how I feel and how the officers who arrived [feel]. Everyone in this process is literally grieving as if this child belonged to us because most of us are parents and can’t imagine just how this scene is,” Fuqua said, according to WBNS.

Beijing — China announced Friday that it will impose a 34% tariff on imports of all U.S. products beginning April 10. The new tariff matches the rate of the U.S. tariff announced by President Trump this week, which he called a “reciprocal” measure, claiming China had tariffs and other measures in place on U.S. goods already that amounted to a 67% trade barrier.

For Mr. Trump’s so-called “Liberation Day” tariffs, the White House used a formula to calculate the sum of all the trade practices it deems unfair from other nations, including currency manipulation, tariffs and other barriers, in reaching its decision on how heavily to tariff almost every other country in the world. Economists have questioned the methodology, and many foreign governments have complained the levies are unfair and misrepresent their trade imbalances with the U.S.

The Commerce Ministry in Beijing also said in a notice that it would impose more export controls on rare earths elements, which are materials used in high-tech products such as computer chips and electric vehicle batteries.

The Chinese government said it would add 27 U.S. companies to lists of firms subject to trade sanctions or export controls. According to China’s tightly controlled media, the expanded export controls would cover seven types of rare earth related items, including samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, lutetium, scandium, and yttrium.

Over a thousand years ago, the Viking leader Erik the Red discovered a new land after being exiled for murdering his neighbor. To entice his fellow Vikings to settle the icy island, he called it Greenland, highlighting its more hospitable southern and western coasts. The settlers that took the bait struggled but endured.

Today, Greenland’s value needs no exaggeration. Its mineral wealth is well-understood, certainly by some in Washington, who seek to acquire the island — a Danish territory. Some of the same voices also promote Greenland’s military value. Gaining political control of the island may, in fact, be a bad deal for the United States, but Washington cannot afford to ignore Greenland’s importance to Arctic and North Atlantic security.

The 2024 Defense Arctic Strategy of monitor-and-respond is insufficiently resourced for competition and not viable for conflict. A geostrategic view shows that the United States should view the Arctic as a connective region with important military ramifications for Europe and the Indo-Pacific, rather than as a separate theater. The United States should re-imagine its strategic framework to view its geostrategic position as a large “line of contact” extending from the South China Sea, over the Arctic, to the Black Sea. Greenland is a linchpin in this framework, providing basing and sensor opportunities permissible by the 1951 Defense of Greenland treaty, with Danish concurrence. Modest investments in sensors and bases in Greenland would significantly enhance America’s strategic Arctic position.

World Economic Forum (WEF) founder Klaus Schwab is stepping down as chairman of the globalist organization he created.

Schwab has informed the WEF’s board of trustees that he will “start the process” of stepping down as chair, a spokesperson for the Geneva-based institution revealed on Thursday.

The news comes after Schwab was recently accused of sexual harassment, racism, and misogyny by several female WEF employees.

Schwab’s decision also comes after President Donald Trump’s return to power has delivered a death blow to the WEF’s globalist agenda.

On Tuesday, Democrats on the Assembly Arts, Entertainment, Sports, and Tourism Committee voted down Assembly Bill 89, which would have prohibited male students from competing in girls’ sports, and Assembly Bill 844, which would have required educational institutions to require students to use the bathroom or locker room according to their biological sex.

In a 7-2 vote, all Democrats on the committee voted against AB 89. Though many people traveled to testify about the harms they had suffered under California’s current athletic policies, Democrats claimed that there were only a handful of transgender students competing in girls’ sports. They instead turned the focus on President Donald Trump’s administration.

“There is no epidemic of transgender kids playing basketball, soccer, or any other sport, for that matter,” Speaker Robert Rivas claimed. “The real threat is the Trump administration taking away abortion access and dismantling programs that help women. And finally, I can’t emphasize this point enough — I’m not going to support a bill that takes rights away from a protected class of people,”

The Florida Senate passed a bill prohibiting geoengineering and weather modification by a vote of 28-9, Thursday. SB-56, dubbed the “chemtrails bill” by the media, prohibits “the injection, release, or dispersion, by any means, of a chemical, a chemical compound, a substance, or an apparatus into the atmosphere within the borders of this state for the express purpose of affecting the temperature, weather, climate, or intensity of sunlight.”

The bill also requires the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to set up a system where residents can report “suspected geoengineering activities” and directs the FDEP to investigate those claims, WFLA reported.

Geoengineering, or climate engineering is defined as “the intentional large-scale alteration of the planetary environment to counteract [alleged] anthropogenic climate change.”

Police responded to a 10 a.m. incident. Hunter Metcalf said he saw his brother being stabbed and tried to stop the blood.

“I tried to whip around as fast as I could,” Hunter Metcalf said. “I looked at my brother, and I’m not going to talk about the rest. I tried to help him.”

Myanmar’s military on Wednesday declared a 21-day cease-fire to support relief and reconstruction efforts in the wake of a devastating earthquake in the country, a day after it fired on a Chinese Red Cross convoy trying to deliver food and medicine to desperate survivors.

The attack on the Chinese convoy, which was widely condemned by rights activists, highlighted the dangers aid groups face from the country’s ongoing civil war.

It remains unclear whether the cease-fire would be honored — armed rebel groups said the military had launched scores of airstrikes since Friday’s 7.7-magnitude temblor, which killed at least 2,700.

In the wake of the earthquake, the shadow government in exile, known as the National Unity Government, and an alliance of three rebel groups announced cease-fires. But the military, which seized power in a coup four years ago, had indicated that it would not stop hostilities. The fierce civil war had already caused widespread suffering before the earthquake, which left millions of people with little food and water.

On March 25, 2025, Colorado House Speaker Julie McCluskie, D, sat before a legislative committee to discuss Senate Bill 25-183, a measure designed to force the state’s Medicaid program to cover abortion services.

The hearing was one of those moments where the mask drops, and the cold, deathly, skeletal face of progressive policy ambitions looked America right in the eyes.

McCluskie didn’t even really try to hide her position. She just brazenly leaned into a fiscal argument that’s as chilling as it is revealing: “A birth is more expensive than an abortion,” she said, citing a fiscal note projecting that Colorado could save over $550,000 annually by funding abortions rather than births. She euphemistically called them “averted births.” Averted births?! Ma’am, the word you’re looking for is “murdered children.”

The bill’s “numbers” (apparently) back her up — $5.9 million to pay for abortions in the first full year, offset by $6.4 million in “savings” from these “averted births.

In his speech to Congress last month, President Donald Trump called out Joe Biden and the Democrats for falsely claiming that it would take new legislation to secure the border because border crossings went down significantly on Trump’s watch, proving that “all we really needed was a new president.”

Illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border dropped once again in March, plummeting to a historic low, with Border Patrol encountering just over 7,000 for the entirety of March.

Border Czar Tom Homan praised Trump’s leadership for achieving a stunning drop in illegal border crossings in a post on X.

“President Trump’s leadership continues to break records! Border Patrol encounters for the month of March were just 7,181 total,” Homan wrote, emphasizing the historic significance of the figures. “I started as a Border Patrol Agent in 1984, which was 41 years ago. I cannot recall a single month since then that the numbers have been that low.”

Newsom’s California Has Sent Nearly $18 Million in Taxpayer Funds to Soros-Backed Tides Center– freebeacon.com

California has doled out nearly $18 million in taxpayer funding to the left-wing Tides Center since Gavin Newsom (D.) became governor in 2019, a Washington Free Beacon review of state spending records found. Thanks to the way the dark money behemoth operates, it’s a mystery whether the money goes to any of the far-left groups it supports.

That setup allows the state to obscure which group actually gets taxpayer dollars after it awards contracts or grants to the Tides Center. The Golden State’s spending database shows that 18 agencies, ranging from health departments to workplace regulators, sent payments to the George Soros-backed nonprofit. The database does not reveal which project gets the cash in the end. State officials also told the Free Beacon that the database is missing information from some departments, meaning total payments to the Tides Center could eclipse the nearly $18 million shown.

The Tides Center essentially acts like a middle man, funneling hundreds of millions of dollars every year to a network of seemingly independent charitable organizations—primarily progressive activist groups. But unlike traditional nonprofits, these groups are housed within the Tides Center as so-called fiscally sponsored projects, enabling them to operate as charities while sidestepping the IRS’s robust financial transparency requirements for tax-exempt groups.

On “Transgender Day of Visibility,” a soldier who identified as Christina Winters posted a video on TikTok criticizing the Trump administration under the username “alexandrahamilton01.”

Captain Winters slammed the Trump administration for its recent actions related to transgender individuals, including a prohibition on transgender people serving in the military and a ban on medical facilities providing sex changes for minors.

“The current administration wants us to not be visible, they want us to be invisible, they want to remove us from society,” Winters alleged. “They want to ensure that we are disenfranchised, that we no longer have a voice, that we no longer have the right to enter any space that is safe.”

NASA shocker: Asteroid feared to strike Earth now on course to obliterate the Moon, scientists warn – The Economic Times

NASA researchers have updated their estimates for asteroid 2024 YR4, which was previously thought to hit Earth. New estimates suggest that the space rock might crash into the Moon instead.

Although the danger to Earth has been averted, scientists are still monitoring the path of the asteroid, as there is still concern about a potential lunar impact. NASA has provided an update on the location and predictions of a concerning asteroid that is speeding through the universe.

Is there still a chance the asteroid will hit Earth?
No, NASA has ruled out an Earth impact in 2032, but the asteroid may strike the Moon instead. How powerful would an asteroid’s impact be?
If it had hit Earth, it could have emitted energy equivalent to 8 megatons of TNT, more than 500 times the Hiroshima bomb.

How is NASA tracking 2024 YR4?

However, scientists think there may be a possibility of impact on the lunar surface because of fresh observations made by NASA’s potent James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), as quoted in a report by The Daily Star.

In a research memo, an international team of astronomers stated, “An impact on Earth by 2024 YR4 on December 22, 2032, has now been ruled out, but it still has a non-zero probability of impacting the Moon at this time.
