Should it be a felony to purchase an underage minor for illegal sex?

For most of us, the answer is a very easy yes. This is not a hard one. You will likely encounter three dozen questions today or tomorrow that will be considerably more difficult to answer. Generally, if someone is asked if there should be severe legal penalties for underage sex trafficking, the response is an immediate, unhesitating affirmative.

Democrats in California feel differently. The state assembly there this past week considered a bill — AB-379 — that would have amended state law to make it a felony to solicit paid sex from “any person under 18 years of age.” In other words, if you seek out and pay a minor for sex — if you engage in child sex trafficking — you would be guilty of a felony.

This should have been an easy move for the assembly; the debate should have taken about 30 seconds and ended with a unanimous vote, passage to the state senate, and a quick signature by Gov. Gavin Newsom. The ink should have still been drying on the bill by suppertime on Wednesday.

ATHENS, Greece — ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece was urged Tuesday to implement stronger legal safeguards at its borders and adopt a “zero-tolerance approach to summary returns” as reports of illegal deportations of migrants continue despite mounting international criticism.

Michael O’Flaherty, the Council of Europe’s commissioner for human rights, issued the recommendations following a visit to Greece in February.

“The commissioner is concerned about the allegations received during his visit regarding persistent practices of summary returns — also referred to as ‘pushbacks’ or ‘informal forced returns’ — at both land and maritime borders,” the Council of Europe memorandum said.

President Donald Trump’s administration has chosen to defend former President Joe Biden’s policies that allow over-the-counter access to the unborn-child-killer pill, mifepristone. The administration is claiming the suing states have no standing to sue. It should be noted Trump ran on the promise he wouldn’t cut off access to the abortion pill.

The Trump administration is defending federal regulations allowing abortion pills to be available online and by mail, the Justice Department revealed on Monday.

But rather than defending the Food and Drug Administration’s rules for the pills on the merits, the DOJ argued in a filing with a Texas federal court that the three GOP-controlled states suing the agency lack standing and the case should be thrown out.

Virginia Giuffre, who accused Britain’s Prince Andrew and other influential men of sexually exploiting her as a teenager trafficked by financier Jeffrey Epstein, has died. She was 41.

Giuffre died by suicide Friday at her farm in Western Australia, her publicist confirmed.

“Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors,” her family said in a statement. “Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure.”

Her publicist Dini von Mueffling described Giuffre as “deeply loving, wise and funny.”

“She adored her children and many animals. She was always more concerned with me than with herself,” von Mueffling wrote in a statement. “I will miss her beyond words. It was the privilege of a lifetime to represent her.”

On Good Friday Operation Rescue received some good news: In response to the complaint we filed earlier this month, the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) has opened an investigation into the death of Lexi Arguello.

Lexi Arguello was 18-years-old and reportedly 22 weeks pregnant when she experienced severe complications during a second trimester abortion committed at Planned Parenthood Fort Collins in Colorado. Reportedly, Lexi developed an amniotic fluid embolism – a life-threatening complication that can occur in second or third trimester abortions as well as during delivery.

A Republican-led House panel has referred former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to the Department of Justice for potential prosecution, alleging he lied to Congress about his role in a state report on COVID nursing home deaths.

Cuomo was reportedly responsible for killing thousands of nursing home residents after putting people infected with COVID in their nursing homes without their consent.

The referral, initially made by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in October 2024, accuses Cuomo of making “criminally false statements” during a June 2024 closed-door testimony. The subcommittee, chaired by former Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, claims Cuomo falsely denied involvement in drafting or reviewing a July 2020 New York State Department of Health report that downplayed nursing home deaths and deflected blame onto staff. Documents and witness testimony, including emails and handwritten notes allegedly in Cuomo’s handwriting, suggest he reviewed, edited, and drafted portions of the report, contradicting his testimony.

A camp counselor picks favorites by lauding some campers regardless of how ordinary or even counterproductive their conduct is, while ignoring or disparaging other campers’ valuable contributions. A referee takes sides by giving the benefit of the doubt to one team. And a human rights activist flouts the rights shared by all persons by expressing outrage at and even exaggerating or outright fabricating abuses perpetrated by one set of combatants while turning a blind eye to atrocities executed by the opposing combatants.

The same goes for the rule of law in America – that is, a system in which individuals are subject to well-established, general, and publicly promulgated rules that are equally enforced and impartially adjudicated. A group that defends the law’s integrity against threats from one party but remains silent while the rival party repeatedly abuses the law over the course of many years to consolidate power and harm political opponents politicizes an essential principle that transcends the differences between partisans.

Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen was unanimously rebuked by a group of Maryland residents who were disgusted after learning of his taxpayer-funded boondoggle to bring back an illegal alien who had been deported by the Trump administration.

As a reminder, Van Hollen has become a national laughingstock after flying to El Salvador last week in a clownish attempt to bring illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the United States after the alleged MS-13 gang member was deported due to a clerical error.

Van Hollen — a senator from Maryland — has been widely criticized for ignoring his own constituents and wasting tax money to fly to El Salvador in a bid to retrieve a foreign national.

On Monday, a group of Maryland residents torched their senator — and the Democratic Party — for wasting taxpayer resources by prioritizing an illegal alien over American citizens.

The unanimous condemnation occurred during a “man on the street interview” conducted by Johnny Belisario, a producer with “Jesse Watters Primetime.”

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin took a New York Times reporter to task over media bias in reporting on efforts to expose fraud, waste and abuse of taxpayer dollars under the Biden administration.

During a press conference on Monday at the EPA, Zeldin confronted New York Times reporter Lisa Friedman over an April 2 story she had written in which she accused him of making “explosive accusations against the Biden administration” with no evidence, regarding the mishandling of $20 billion in climate grants.

Using the reporter’s own words, Zeldin fired back at the reporter and dared other media outlets, including the Washington Post and Politico, to back up their reporting that there was “no evidence” of wrongdoing.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office will seek “diversion” rather than criminal charges.

Last week, fiscal policy analyst for Minnesota Governor (and failed VP candidate) Tim Walz’s administration was caught on camera vandalizing a Tesla. Dylan Bryan Adams, 33, was caught on camera keying a Tesla while walking his dog.

New York State Supreme Court Judge Mary V. Rosado (Democrat) issued a temporary restraining order Monday blocking Mayor Eric Adams and his administration from moving forward with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would have allowed federal immigration agents access to Rikers Island – the city’s most notorious jail complex.

At the heart of the case is Executive Order No. 50, issued by Mayor Adams, which aimed to facilitate cooperation between the New York City Department of Correction and federal law enforcement, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The agreement was designed to identify and remove dangerous illegal aliens charged with violent crimes – including repeat offenders and gang members – from city custody and turn them over to federal authorities.

But that common-sense initiative has now been derailed by a politically motivated lawsuit filed by the New York City Council, which outrageously argues that allowing ICE to perform its lawful duties violates the city’s sanctuary policies.

Donald Trump has threatened to withhold billions in federal funding from Harvard University because the institution has let antisemitism run rampant on its campus. Did Harvard react by vowing to crack down on hate? No, instead they’re suing the administration for the taxpayer-funded money, which they somehow feel they’re entitled to.

As I’ve asked before, they have a $53 billion endowment—how about they mirror Hillsdale College and refuse federal money? Then they can teach whatever garbage they want.

Instead, they seem to be saying, we should be able to promote whatever woke agenda that we desire, and you should be forced to pay for it:

It looks like we’re in for a long, nasty battle:

Harvard University has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over its “unlawful” multibillion dollar freeze of research funding to the university.

“Moments ago, we filed a lawsuit to halt the funding freeze because it is unlawful and beyond the government’s authority,” Harvard President Alan Garber wrote in a post on X.

The move comes just one day after the Trump administration planned to cut another $1 billion in federal grants and contracts to the university, according to the Wall Street Journal, which is in addition to the $2.2 billion freeze that was announced last week.

In response to the lawsuit, a White House spokesperson told Fox News Digital that Harvard’s “gravy train of federal assistance” is coming to an end.

In what many citizens concerned with the survival of Austria as a European nation-state are calling a demographic tipping point, Muslims have now become the largest religious group in Vienna’s compulsory schools, comprising a striking 41.2% of all students across primary, secondary, and vocational education levels.

The stark demographic shift has sparked outrage among conservatives and nationally-minded citizens in Austria, with the Freedom Party (FPÖ) warning that the capital is being culturally transformed beyond recognition.

“This is no longer immigration. This is displacement,” said Maximilian Weinzierl, national council member and leader of the FPÖ’s youth wing. “41.2% of Muslim students—that’s no longer a minority, that’s the new majority. What we as the FPÖ have been warning about for decades, but which was always dismissed as right-wing scaremongering, is now reality: Immigration has completely overrun our country.”

A federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked the deportation of two international students in Oregon and ordered the Trump administration to reinstate their visa status.

The decision follows two lawsuits filed by a student at Oregon State University and another at the University of Oregon, who had their F-1 student immigration status terminated by the administration.

U.S. District Judge Michael McShane issued a temporary restraining order preventing the students from being deported and ordered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to restore their F-1 student records for 14 days, according to the court order.

Both plaintiffs were represented by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Oregon and an immigration law firm. The first student, Aaron Olaf Ortega Gonzalez, is a Mexican national pursuing a doctoral degree in rangeland ecology and management at Oregon State University.

The second student, identified only as Jane Doe, is a British citizen pursuing two master’s degrees at the University of Oregon. The plaintiffs said their student status was revoked “without any notice or meaningful explanation” given by the DHS.

Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum and the face of the NGO’s elitist annual get-together in Davos, Switzerland, has resigned as chair of WEF.

Over the decades, but especially over the past several years, the WEF’s Davos annual symposium has become a lightning rod for conservative criticism due to the agendas being pushed there by the elites. As the Associated Press noted:

Widely regarded as a cheerleader for globalisation, the WEF’s Davos gathering has in recent years drawn criticism from opponents on both left and right as an elitist talking shop detached from lives of ordinary people.

Police in Colorado got the shock of their lives during a routine traffic stop when they discovered a pair of Mexican Nationals with 180,000 rounds of rifle ammo in their vehicle.

The officers of the Fremont County Sheriffs Dept. pulled over Caesar Ramon Martinez Solis, 41, and Humberto Ivan Amador Gavira, 24, were driving a van with a broken license plate lamp and turned off the road in from of police without using a turn signal. The drivers also did not dim their lights from high beam while passing the police car which was going the opposite way, that being a violation of state law. All this led officers to pull the van over for a traffic stop.

They soon became suspicious of the occupants of the van and initiated a search. What they found shocked them.

“During the traffic stop, the detectives discovered approximately 150 boxes of .308 ammunition and approximately 30 boxes of 7.62 ammunition, officials said. Each box was labeled as containing 1,000 rounds,” Fox News reported.

A thief was able to steal the purse of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem while she dined at a downtown Washington, D.C., restaurant on Sunday evening.

The bag contained $3,000, Noem’s driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, passport, blank checks, a makeup bag, and her DHS access badge. A spokesperson for Noem confirmed the robbery in a statement to Blaze News.

The cash was intended to be used to purchase Easter presents and activities for Noem’s family, as well as the dinner.

Noem was also approached at the White House Easter Egg Roll and asked about the incident. She confirmed the report and said that the matter had not yet been resolved.

A law enforcement source told CBS News that the Secret Service had reviewed security footage from the restaurant and saw a white male wearing a medical mask take the bag. The unknown male then left the restaurant.

A Democrat judge in New Mexico resigned last month just days after a suspected member of the violent Tren de Aragua gang was arrested at his residence.

On March 3, Judge Jose “Joel” Cano, magistrate of Doña Ana County, sent a letter to various court staff, including 3rd Judicial District Chief Judge Conrad Perea, announcing that he would step down from his seat effective March 21.

“Working with each of you has been a very rewarding experience for which I will remain eternally grateful,” he wrote, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Just three days before Cano sent the resignation letter, on February 28, ICE agents conducted a search warrant on his home in connection with Cristhian Ortega-Lopez, a 23-year-old illegal immigrant from Venezuela and suspected TDA gangster who was living there.

Ortega-Lopez broke into the U.S. by scaling a barbed-wire fence near Eagle Pass, Texas, at the height of the Biden border crisis in December 2023, Breitbart reported, citing court documents. He spent three days at a detention facility in South Laredo before he was released because of overcrowding.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s order early Saturday morning to block further deportations of illegal aliens by the Trump administration has drawn sharp dissent from Justice Samuel Alito who described the Court’s actions as “legally questionable.”

The order, which seeks to temporarily block the administration from deporting any more accused Venezuelan gang members under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, directs that detainees held in the Bluebonnet Detention Center in northern Texas not be removed, “until further order of this court.”

Alito was joined by fellow Justice Clarence Thomas in his dissent, which stated that there was “dubious factual support” for the court to grant the request due to an emergency appeal by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Alito specifically took the majority to task for allowing the ACLU to leapfrog lower courts to get a Supreme Court injunction, failing to allow a district court to certify a class prior to the order, issuing “legally questionable” relief without hearing from the opposing party and issuing the order “literally in the middle of the night.”

We had quite a lot to say earlier about Politico’s obsequious coverage of Sen. Chris Van Hollen, who has been milking the ‘Maryland Father’ storyline for as much attention and publicity as he can get.  The trouble he’s had, though, is in facing even the slightest bit of pushback on his preferred narrative, in which his favored poster child’s actual record is an irrelevant ‘distraction.’  When unhappy facts are presented to him, he treats them as irrelevant deflections, while himself…deflecting to yet another attack on the Trump administration.  I tacked this clip from CNN onto the earlier post, but it’s important to watch.  The Senator doesn’t want to grapple with the question of whether his “constituent” — on whom he’s lavished great attention and effort — is in fact a criminal gang member, in addition to being an illegal immigrant.  Neither, it seems, does the gaggle of additional Congressional Democrats who’ve made the same pilgrimage to El Salvador.

Dejuan Moore had been held on an $810,000 bond, but Judge Khadija Babb lowered it to $304,000.

A Nashville man charged with raping two teenage girls at gunpoint had his bond significantly reduced by a Davidson County, Tennessee judge, prompting backlash from sexual assault victim advocates.

Dejuan Moore was being held on an $810,000 bond, but Judge Khadija Babb lowered it to $304,000. Moore faces a series of serious charges, including two counts of aggravated rape, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, as well as resisting arrest, evading arrest, and evading arrest by a motor vehicle.

Moore’s defense attorney, Jennifer Thompson, argued the original bond was excessive, pointing to Moore’s lack of criminal history and what she called “strong ties to the Nashville community.” She said Moore wants to be released to support his girlfriend and her children.

“He was supportive of him and his girlfriend and their household,” Thompson claimed. However, victim advocates expressed outrage over the judge’s decision.

“It makes it seem like his life is more important than the victims he sexually assaulted,” said Lorraine McGuire, Vice President of Community Relations at the Sexual Assault Center, according to Fox 17 News.
