BREAKING: Letitia James Busted Again Over $200K Mortgage Allegations, Facing 15–30 Years in Prison– conservativeroof.com

Letitia James’s New York State mortgage records indicate that she committed mortgage fraud on a $200,000 “Credit Line Mortgage” with Citizens Bank in 2021. Like other mortgages, it requires a signed note, a mortgage document, and recording with the county clerk.

The mortgage document shows that James misrepresented her five-unit apartment building as a single-family dwelling. This false claim allowed James to avoid significantly higher commercial loan closing costs and a higher interest rate.

The issue is never the issue.

The appearance of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, before the Pfizer Tribunal at the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Thursday reminded me of the truth of that famous saying of Saul Alinsky.

The issue is never the issue. What is always the issue, according to that community organizer nonpareil, is power.

Ostensibly, Secretary Kennedy came to answer questions about COVID (remember that scam?) and the performance of people at—or, rather, recently at—the Centers for Disease Control. He recently fired the new, freshly confirmed director, Susan Monarez, for being “untrustworthy,” and some 1000 staffers walked out in solidarity or—what’s that other word beginning with an “s”?—Oh, right: in a snit.

One by one, the senators, mostly Democrats but also a few Republicans, screamed and gesticulated at Kennedy, accused him of being a “charlatan” and worse, and demanded that he resign or be fired.

Utah gerrymander struck down by judge in a win for voters– www.latimes.com

It’s been more than 60 years since Utah backed a Democrat for president. The state’s last Democratic U.S. senator left office nearly half a century ago and the last Utah Democrat to serve in the House lost his seat in 2020.

But, improbably enough, Utah has suddenly emerged as a rare Democratic bright spot in the red-vs.-blue redistricting wars.

Late last month, a judge tossed out the state’s slanted congressional lines and ordered Utah’s GOP-run Legislature to draw a new political map, ruling that lawmakers improperly thumbed their noses and overrode voters who created an independent redistricting commission to end gerrymandering.

It’s a welcome pushback against the growing pattern of lawmakers arrogantly ignoring voters and pursuing their preferred agenda. You don’t have to be a partisan to think that elections should matter and when voters express their will it should be honored.

Scientists have discovered fascinating new insights into what Earth looked like before it was fully formed. A study led by Charles-Édouard Boukaré, physicist at York University, reveals that our planet’s essential features were established within its first 100 million years. Published in Nature, the research combines geochemistry with advanced computer simulations to show how Earth’s molten interior cooled and solidified into distinct layers that continue to shape its geology today. These results challenge long-standing theories of planetary formation and provide a new perspective not only on Earth’s origins but also on how rocky planets across the universe evolve.

CHICAGO — The Rev. Marshall Hatch urged congregants of a prominent Black church on Chicago’s West Side to carry identification, stay connected to family and protest as the city readied for an expected federal intervention.

“You need to start telling people about your whereabouts, so you don’t disappear,” Hatch said during Sunday services at New Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. “We’re not going to despair. We’re not going to feel threatened. We’re not going to give up and give in to fascism and authoritarianism.”

As Chicago braced for an immigration enforcement crackdown and a possible National Guard deployment, churches across the city turned up their response from the pulpit. Some worked to quell fears about detention and deportation while others addressed the looming possibility of more law enforcement on the streets of the nation’s third-largest city.

President Donald Trump has threatened federal intervention in Democratic strongholds, most recently warning apocalyptic force could be used in Chicago to fight crime and step up deportations. He’s repeatedly cited the expected plans over fierce objections from local leaders and many residents who call it unnecessary and unwanted.

A Democratic lawmaker in Arizona who is facing calls for expulsion for resharing an Instagram post warning of immigration enforcement activity near an elementary school said that state senate Republicans “absolutely are trying to make an example out of me”.

Analise Ortiz, a Democratic state senator in Arizona, shared an Instagram post from a community organization that warned, in text only, that immigration enforcement agents were near a local elementary school.

“Alert/Alerta: ICE activity near Southwest Elementary,” the post in early August said, adding the cross streets of the school. “ICE is present. La migra esta presente.”

That post is at the center of an ethics complaint filed this week against Ortiz and a viral rightwing campaign against her.

“The ethics complaint very clearly says that they want to stop other people from sharing this type of information,” she said, calling it “a stunning escalation of intimidation”.

Pope Leo XIV proclaimed a 15-year-old computer genius the Catholic Church’s first millennial saint, along with another popular Italian figure who spent his life spreading his faith before dying at a young age.

Leo canonized Carlo Acutis, who died of Leukemia in 2006, and Italian student and avid outdoorsman Pier Giorgio Frassati, who died in his early 20s of polio in 1925, during an open-air Mass in St. Peter’s Square before an estimated 80,000 people.

Leo said both saints created “masterpieces” out of their lives by dedicating them to God.

“The greatest risk in life is to waste it outside of God’s plan,” Leo said in his Sunday homily. The new saints “are an invitation to all of us, especially young people, not to squander our lives, but to direct them upwards and make them masterpieces.”

While chemotherapy remains a cornerstone of lung cancer treatment, it often weakens the immune system it relies on for long-term control. Now, researchers have found a way to turn this weakness into strength — by transplanting healthy mitochondria into the tumor environment. In advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), combining mitochondrial transplantation with cisplatin not only enhanced immune cell infiltration but also reversed tumor metabolism and improved the drug’s effectiveness. This innovative approach transforms mitochondria from mere energy suppliers into active allies in cancer therapy, showing potential to reshape how we treat aggressive lung tumors.

Lung cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer worldwide, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for 85% of cases. Chemotherapy is the first-line treatment for advanced NSCLC, yet its effectiveness is hampered by toxic side effects and emerging resistance. Moreover, chemotherapy damages immune cells and reduces their presence in the tumor microenvironment, limiting long-term control. Adding to this challenge, tumors can hijack immune cell mitochondria through nanotube-like structures, further dampening immunity. Immunotherapy has improved outcomes for some, but many patients still fail to respond. Due to these limitations, there is a pressing need for strategies that restore immune power and metabolic balance during chemotherapy.

The Illinois Baptist State Association, or IBSA, is a community of nearly 1,000 Baptist churches, ministries, and missions, dedicated to advancing the Gospel across the Land of Lincoln.

Today, they face a heart-wrenching dilemma. Rooted in their belief that life is sacred from conception, IBSA has provided health insurance as an Illinois employer for its 20-plus employees and retirees for over a century—always excluding abortion coverage.

But Illinois’ 2019 Reproductive Health Act forces IBSA to choose between providing health insurance or funding abortion, directly violating its deeply held faith. (Keep reading to find out how we’re fighting back!)

The RHA mandates that all employer health insurance plans cover chemical and surgical abortions. And anytime they’ve sought an exemption, the reply has been “no.” This abortion coverage mandate has turned IBSA’s commitment to care for its employees into a moral crisis.

A federal judge denied the Trump administration’s request to unseal Jeffrey Epstein grand jury materials on Wednesday, calling it a “diversion.”

Judge Richard Berman, a Clinton appointee, noted the testimony “is merely a hearsay snippet of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged conduct” in his 14-page ruling.

“The Government is the logical party to make comprehensive disclosure to the public of the Epstein Files,” he wrote. “By comparison, the instant grand jury motion appears to be a ‘diversion’ from the breadth and scope of the Epstein files in the Government’s possession.”

Two federal judges previously rejected efforts to unseal transcripts in Epstein’s Florida case and Ghislaine Maxwell’s case. The Department of Justice (DOJ) petitioned to unseal the transcripts in July following a directive from President Donald Trump.

Big Tech workers are top Mamdani campaign donors, far exceeding Andrew Cuomo

NY Post reports;

Big Tech workers, including from Google and Meta, were among the biggest group of donors to Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign — creating a fresh headache for companies in the Big Apple that could feel the brunt of the self-proclaimed Democratic socialist’s policies, The Post has learned.

The 33-year-old upstart has spooked New York business and tech leaders — many of whom fear that his vow to raise taxes on the wealthy and past calls to defund the police will spark a mass exodus similar to what San Francisco experienced under progressive leaders in recent years.

However, their underlings have thrown their financial support behind the front-runner for City Hall.

Rank-and-file Google employees donated nearly $40,500 to Mamdani’s campaign through July 11 — more than any other company or institution, according to NYC campaign finance data reviewed by The Post.

Meta workers chipped in more than $10,500, ranking seventh on the list, followed by Amazon employees, who donated nearly $9,000.

A cherished French bakery in Jefferson County, Colorado, is facing potential closure because of the county’s harsh enforcement of exclusionary zoning regulations. This situation underscores how overly restrictive regulations create unnecessary hurdles that stifle entrepreneurship, especially when the local economy is struggling.

Lookout Mountain, Colorado, is celebrated for its breathtaking views, luxurious homes, and as the final resting place of Buffalo Bill. Just 12 miles from downtown Denver, it has become a must-visit destination for hikers, mountain bikers, and tourists from all over the globe.

This charming mountain community has long grappled with one significant drawback: the lack of a quality café. For many years, residents and visitors have had to travel to the nearby city of Golden for a decent cup of coffee or tasty pastries. So both locals and tourists were thrilled when a French bakery, Et Voilà!, opened less than half a mile from Buffalo Bill’s Museum and Grave.

Et Voilà! — meaning “Here you go” in French — is run by a passionate trio of French immigrants: husband-and-wife team Eric and Rachel Dufour, along with Rachel’s sister, Ruth. After leaving a successful career as an economist, Ruth pursued her passion for baking at renowned chef Olivier Bajard’s pastry school. The Dufours want to share their love for authentic French cuisine with the Lookout Mountain community, creating a welcoming space for locals and visitors. They also count on the bakery’s financial success to support their nonprofit, Serving Alongside Ministry (SAM), which provides counseling services for Christian organizations and leaders globally.

New details have emerged surrounding the investigation into former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who may have allowed a foreign government to gain access to classified intelligence when publishing a memoir in 2020, according to a bombshell report from the New York Times.

Despite constant allegations from Democrats and mainstream media pundits of political targeting on the part of the Trump Administration, The Times reported that the current investigation into Bolton “began to pick up steam” during the Biden presidency. Intelligence officials began to investigate after obtaining evidence that he may have mishandled classified information, according to unnamed sources familiar with the inquiry.

Credible accusations against Bolton first surfaced in 2020, when the Trump Administration filed a lawsuit attempting to block the release of his book, “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir.” The government argued that Bolton did not go through the proper vetting process with the National Security Council when drafting the book, a mandatory process for government officials seeking to publish works that may contain classified information.

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth refused to block the publication, but only because it was too late. He did conclude, however, that Bolton “likely published classified materials” and had “exposed his country to harm.” He later allowed the wider lawsuit to go forward, which was ultimately dismissed by the Biden Administration in 2021.

Fox News host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, who primarily goes by just “Kennedy” on the network, argued during Wednesday’s installment of “The Five” that Robin Westman’s transgender identity is irrelevant when discussing Wednesday’s mass shooting targeting a Catholic school in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Westman — a biological male who started “identifying” as a female when he was 17 — indiscriminately opened fire on students as they were attending a school-wide mass on Wednesday morning. Two children, aged 8 and 10 were killed, while 14 other students and three additional adults were wounded. Thankfully, all of those injured are expected to survive.

The gunman uploaded a number of disturbing videos prior to carrying out the attack, many of which contained anti-Christian imagery and nods to far-left extremism. Westman scribbled a number of messages on his weapons, including “Where is your god,” “I’m the woker, why so queerious” and “Kill Donald Trump.”

Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele — who now works as a partisan left-wing host for MSNBC — trashed Christians and conservatives for offering prayers in the aftermath of Wednesday’s shooting targeting the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

While speaking on a panel that included U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and longtime Democratic Party operative Symone Sanders, Steele said that he agrees with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey’s stance on the “trans community.” After a transgender-identifying gunman killed two children and wounded several others, the far-left mayor has repeatedly stated that the city must stand by its “trans community” and protect them from “abuse” and “harassment.”

“As an elected official, you are on the ground with your folks and you appreciate this journey. I agree with the mayor,” Steele said.

“The thoughts and prayers, I’m so beyond, so beyond that nonsense, the lie of that,” he added with a look of pure disgust on his face. “Because what we have are people who continue to stand in the way of actually doing something to stop the violence against their own kids. It is amazing to me. We watch young kids die in classrooms and now in church, and all we get are thoughts and prayers.”

People over the age of 65 will still be eligible.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has rescinded the emergency use authorizations for Covid-19 vaccines and tightened eligibility requirements to exclude most healthy adults and children. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said the decision was based on “science, safety, and common sense.”

Under the new policy, people over the age of 65 will still be eligible, while younger adults and children must show they have an underlying health condition such as asthma or obesity that places them at higher risk for serious illness.

“I promised 4 things,” Kennedy wrote on X. “1. to end covid vaccine mandates. 2. to keep vaccines available to people who want them, especially the vulnerable. 3. to demand placebo-controlled trials from companies. 4. to end the emergency.”

“In a series of FDA actions today we accomplished all four goals,” he continued. “The emergency use authorizations for Covid vaccines, once used to justify broad mandates on the general public during the Biden administration, are now rescinded.”

If you needed evidence that biased misinformation is more harmful than no information, you needed to look no further than CNN on Wednesday morning.

Just a little while earlier, the news had emerged that a shooter had opened fire on Catholic students in Mass at a school in Minneapolis. School had just started on Monday, and the Wednesday morning service had been meant to mark the beginning of the school year.

At 11 a.m. ET, it was known that the shooter was dead, and it was known that many were injured, although the exact number or if any were dead had been unreported. What wasn’t known was that the shooter was an anti-God, anti-Jewish, anti-Trump transgender former student with serious mental health issues who left a number of messages to that effect on the guns he used. This would become an optics problem for the liberal media as the day unfolded.

Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser had some positive things to say about Trump’s law enforcement surge in the city today, noting the drastic drop in crimes, most notably carjackings.

This is sure to cause some anger on the left. This is precisely what most Democrats do not want to hear. They’re still trying to run with the narrative that this was some sort of authoritarian takeover of the city.

What they can’t argue with is numbers, like the ones Bowser is citing here.

NBC News reported:

“We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city,” the mayor, a Democrat, told reporters about the expansion of federal law enforcement and its partnership with the Metropolitan Police Department.

Carjackings, she said, were the “most troubling” crime that plagued D.C. in 2023 and they have decreased in recent years. Bowser said that in the 20 days since the federal takeover, there has been an 87% drop in carjackings compared to the same period last year. The data cited also showed a 15% fall in crime overall in the district during that same period last year.

“We know that when carjackings go down, when use of gun goes down, when homicide or robbery go down, neighborhoods feel safer and are safer, so this surge has been important to us,” said Bowser, who added that she has been personally engaged with Attorney General Pam Bondi and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles…

The mayor said that since the increase in federal law enforcement officers, there have been more stops that have resulted in the seizure of illegal guns and there has been more “accountability in the system” that “is driving down illegal behavior.”

While the Trump administration and many state legislatures are showing it is possible to ban transgender child mutilation procedures, the top contributing factors to children adopting a transgender identity haven’t gone away. Those include family breakdown, psychological abuse, and leftist-controlled mass media. Government can affect these factors, but not quickly.

This means the transgender social contagion will last some time, especially in culturally leftist locales. How can compassionate friends help these sufferers among us?

Embracing God’s Design, a magazine-like, easy-to-read new book by Dr. Jennifer Bauwens and Walt Heyer, gives some evidence-based ideas. The book details where transgenderism comes from historically, psychologically, and politically, and how to respond in a way that expresses genuine love for those who suffer from it. It is a how-to manual for parents, teachers, pastors, churchgoers, and anyone else who interacts with a sexually confused person — which at this point is most Americans.

One sticker on the journal reads “Defend Equality,” featuring an image of a machine gun imposed on top of a pride flag. Others display the Nintendo character Luigi, a reference to Luigi Mangione — the man who assassinated UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last year.

As reported earlier, Westman uploaded disturbing videos to YouTube prior to the attack, lacing them with pop culture allusions and tributes to notorious mass killers. In the recordings, Westman is shown handling several firearms and ammunition magazines, alongside a target board affixed with an image of Jesus Christ.

Westman declares, “This message brought to you by BlackRock and Exxon Mobil, sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon” near the beginning of the video. The footage has since circulated widely online. According to police, the rampage left at least two children dead and 17 people injured — 14 of them minors — when gunfire erupted at a Catholic school during morning mass.

President Donald Trump’s plan to allow 600,000 Chinese student visas to be issued drew strong criticism from the right on Monday and Tuesday.

The proposal comes as the president is amid trade talks with China, and backers of the plan could be necessary to keep certain universities afloat, whereas others say it could hinder the opportunities of American students.

“I hear so many stories that we’re not going to allow their students,” Trump told reporters as trade talks with China are ongoing.

“We’re going to allow their students to come in. It’s very important, 600,000 students. It’s very important. But we’re going to get along with China,” he continued.

Trump expanded on his comments during a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Tuesday.

I think it’s very insulting to say students can’t come here because they’ll go out and start building schools and they’ll be able to survive it. But I like that their students come here. I like that other countries’ students come here. And you know what would happen if they didn’t? Our college system would go to hell very quickly. And it wouldn’t be the top colleges, so it’d be colleges that struggle on the bottom. And you take out 300,000 or 600,000 students out of the system,” Trump said.

I like having, and I told this to President Xi that we’re honored to have their students here. Now, with that, we check in with careful and we see who’s there,” he added.
