According to an assistant special agent in charge’s email, he went through a metal detector, and someone visually searched his bag. He then ate on the patio and went to the pool.

His afternoon continued until he found the pistol while changing clothes and notified security at about 3:53 PM An agent’s email explains why he came forward:

“Upon changing his clothes after using the pool, [redacted] realized that he had inadvertently left his Glock 43 pistol in his gym bag and that the bag was searched without the pistol being found. It was at this time that the member approached a [redacted]-stander at the employee entrance and advised of the situation because he “cares about POTUS”.”

President Donald Trump said he is considering joining Saudi Arabia in its retaliation against Tehran-backed Houthis in Yemen after a deadly attack on Riyadh’s main airport, a move that could draw the U.S. further into a second front in the Iran war.

“We may. We’re going to look at it,” Trump told reporters outside the White House on Saturday when asked if the U.S. would back Saudi Arabian strikes. “We just found out about the recent attack. So, we’ll make a decision. We move very quickly.”

Two Saudi Arabian government officials told MS NOW that the kingdom is requesting “urgent defense support” from the U.S. following the attacks.

The officials, including a senior member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, did not want to be identified because of the matter’s sensitivity. They added that the U.S. needs to intervene “as soon as possible” to help the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen fight the Houthis.

The White House did not immediately respond to a CNBC request for comment.

On Sunday, a projectile struck a passenger terminal at the Riyadh airport, one day after a missile struck the same terminal, the Associated Press reported. No immediate details were available about the latest strike on the King Khalid International Airport complex for terminals 3 and 4 for domestic flights, AP said.

Saturday is World Day Against the Death Penalty, and it is common for the pope’s official social media accounts to post messages marking such commemorations.

The seemingly never-ending drama of whether or not President Trump can proceed with his planned projects to beautify the federal city of Washington, D.C., continued Monday during an explosive hearing in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes.

Reyes, in a word, was ticked that the federal government – in this case, the National Park Service (NPS) – had cut down hundreds of trees from the East Potomac Golf Links course over the weekend without her permission. The trees were removed as part of Trump administration efforts to transform the historic golf course into a championship-caliber facility.

In a hearing Monday morning, Reyes, a Biden appointee, said she was “thoroughly unamused” that the National Park Service notified the court at 4:55 p.m. Friday – just before the holiday weekend was to commence – that tree removal would begin on Saturday morning. She told government lawyers that the abrupt removal of the trees “has cost the government all of its credibility” in the case.

Reyes continued, “In what universe did anyone in your office think that was acceptable?!”
