Talarico Hopes a ‘New’ Paxton Scandal Will Make the Buzz Around His 13-Day Vanishing Act Disappear – RedState– redstate.com

EXCERPT:

Legacy media and its GOP-E(lite) cohorts are running with a Wall Street Journal exclusive that centers around Texas Attorney General and Republican nominee for U.S. Senate Ken Paxton and his extramarital girlfriend Tracy Duhon taking a trip to Dubai for New Year’s Eve 2024.

Siskind is being deliberately hyperbolic here. There is one 30-second video, and if by “receipts” she means repeating what other Texas outlets have reported over the 23 years of Paxton’s political career, then, yeah.

According to the WSJ, Paxton celebrated in Dubai with two American Muslim physicians: Dr. Anosh Ahmed and Dr. Sameer Suhail. According to a 2025 Chicago Sun-Times exclusive, the physicians were hiding out in Dubai to escape the long arm of the law.

Dr. Anosh Ahmed and Dr. Sameer Suhail, entrepreneurs as well as medical doctors, had matching cars, a matching taste for luxury watches and matching condos at Trump Tower.

They also come from similar backgrounds, immigrating to the United States as children — Ahmed from Pakistan, Suhail from Jordan — and got their medical degrees from overseas schools and built images as businessmen flush with cash.

For more than a year, they’ve also been fugitives — living expensive lifestyles in Dubai while dodging accountability for the damage prosecutors say they caused the West Side’s Loretto Hospital, a safety-net facility serving the poorest Chicagoans.

Prosecutors say Ahmed and Suhail worked together to embezzle $15 million from Loretto, a taxpayer-funded hospital, and steered $19 million of hospital contracts to Suhail through “corrupt” means, including bribery.

Ahmed also is charged in a separate COVID-19 testing scheme prosecutors say defrauded the government of about $300 million.

Treasury Now Sanctions Cartel del Noreste Horse Racing Network – RedState– redstate.com

There has been a lot of virtual ink spilled on the damage done to Iran’s economy by the United States Treasury Department under the best Treasury Secretary since Alexander Hamilton, namely Scott Bessent. But the Secretary and his department haven’t been focused solely on Iran. On Tuesday, the Treasury Department announced sanctions slammed down on the Cartel del Noreste, a Mexican criminal organization and U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Secretary Bessent announced the move on the nation’s bulletin board, X.

He writes:

Today’s action exposes Cartel del Noreste’s exploitation of the horse racing sector to launder illicit proceeds and finance cartel operations. This action marks Treasury’s most significant effort to date to disrupt Cartel del Noreste’s financial infrastructure. Treasury, in close coordination with our law enforcement partners, remains committed to protecting the U.S. financial system from misuse by violent cartels.

Hasan Piker Had a Brutal Interview and the Worst Part Is That It Was Supposed to Be Satire– townhall.com

Even satirical interviews can be especially brutal.

On Monday, Nigerian-American comedian, writer, and actress Ziwe Fumudoh, best known for turning celebrity interviews into polite interrogations, released one with socialist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker. Ziwe’s interviews have long specialized in making her subjects squirm, and Piker, with his online fame, leftist politics, and conspicuously comfortable lifestyle, offered her an unusually rich target.

Ziwe over the course of just a couple of minutes had Piker model his “communist-style” suit for the camera, like a performing monkey, before asking whether he had always aspired to be a champagne socialist. From there, the questions only got more awkward: his recent Oscars appearance, and the not-so-small matter of reconciling his politics with his $2.7 million California mansion.

To appreciate just how uncomfortable it gets, you really have to watch it.

“You kind of look like a communist,” Ziwe said to Piker, who wore a Mao Zedong style suit.

“Thank you. I got this in China,” Piker said.

“Really?”

“It’s the only tailored suit I own,” he added.

Bangladesh will launch its sovereign AI infrastructure in a year and open it to the private sector, startups and universities to build large language models in Bangla, said Rehan Asad, adviser to the prime minister for telecommunications and ICT.

Sovereign AI is a country’s ability to build and run artificial intelligence using its own infrastructure, data, workforce, and computing power rather than relying on foreign technology providers or models.

“Majority of the global tech partnerships are at a mature state. We have secured the sourcing of computing chips,” he said at the AI and Innovation Dialogue, jointly organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government Innovation Unit of the Prime Minister’s Office, at the foreign ministry in Dhaka today.

“We will launch our sovereign AI infrastructure within the next 12 months.”

“And open that up to the private sector, startups, universities and students to build future LLM models in Bangla and offer innovative services very soon,” he added.

Socialism, Islam Are Both Religions Based On Pillaging The West– thefederalist.com

France is on fire — again. Hundreds of French schools have closed for periods or remain shut down, and the rioting continues, even spreading to neighboring Belgium. Beginning with a faculty protest at Saint-Exupéry High School over budget cuts, students soon joined in and similar protests broke out across the country. To no one’s surprise, activists almost immediately co-opted these demonstrations, taking advantage of the situation and organizing “fiery but not so peaceful” protests in the streets.

As many have now observed, including President Trump, the rioters are largely Muslim immigrants and radical leftists. Thus far, nearly 7,000 rioters have been arrested, more than 1,000 have been injured, and one teenager has lost his hand while another has reportedly partially lost his sight in clashes with police.

As writer John Daniel Davidson recently argued, the current riots in France illustrate yet again the alliance of Islamists and communists, or the Red-Green Alliance: “This is the Red-Green alliance of the socialist/Antifa left and Muslim immigrants, operationalized to bring the country to its knees through widespread rioting ahead of national elections next year.” Despite their many differences, the two groups have united “to tear down western institutions and the Christian faith on which they were built.”

If history and theology are any guide, there is even more uniting these two factions. Davidson correctly points that “on issues like women’s rights, transgenderism, gay marriage and the sexual revolution in general, [Islamists and radical leftists] are not aligned.” But these differences are mere window dressing to their core similarities: spreading their ideology through aggression and confiscating the wealth of others.

These two principles are fairly well known as features of communism, but most Westerners have been conditioned not to associate them with Islam. Nearly all Western schools, underfunded or otherwise, have done their utmost to obscure the fact that Islam was spread by the sword as well as by theft. As historian Raymond Ibrahim details in his classic history Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War Between Islam and the West, starting with the Prophet Muhammad and continuing with his many successors, Muslim armies would invade, pillage, terrorize, and enslave neighboring kingdoms, forcing their populations to submit to Allah, face martyrdom, or live as second-class citizens (dhimmis).

Fewer than ten lay Catholics courageously showed up to pray the Holy Rosary in reparation for an annual LGBT “pride” festival and parade in downtown Altoona for the second year in a row last week, persevering despite being mocked, screamed at, and even provocatively danced at by a “drag queen.”

On Friday, October 9, the small group of just seven brave faithful from across the great state of Pennsylvania, and one from the lesser state of Maryland, recited the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary in reparation for sins committed during the blasphemous pro-LGBT event and indeed by the entire alphabet movement.

As they implored the intercession of the Blessed Mother (and even before they began), several angry (and likely demonically afflicted) LGBTers came up to harass, scream, wave rainbow flags at, and mockingly join them in prayer. A “drag queen” also stopped by to “twerk” at them while they were praying.

Attacks from parade/festival attendees

The third annual Altoona Pride Parade & Festival was organized by the Blair County Inclusion Alliance in partnership with Penn State Altoona (And this alumnus is embarrassed for them), to coincide with the leftist “National Coming Out Day.”

The demonic event drew a noticeably smaller but more vicious crowd than last year, with there appearing to be only about 200 in attendance – and that’s rounding up – including dozens of young children, a few more “drag queens,” but only one “furry” that I spotted compared to about a handful last year.

It’s perhaps the most important question purple-state voters should be asking themselves in 2026: Do you want to vote Republican, or do you want to end up like Minnesota?

On the same day that Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s house was raided by immigration officials, President Donald Trump asked the obvious question to voters in Ohio — namely, whether they wanted their state to be “plundered, ransacked, and destroyed” like their friends up north.

Trump was in the state to support the 2026 Republican candidates for Senate and governor, Jon Husted and Vivek Ramaswamy, respectively.

However, he also gave everyone a callback to a major flashpoint of his 2024 presidential campaign — namely, the town of Springfield, Ohio, which had been overrun by Haitian migrants.

Yes, we all remember this for the “they’re eating the dogs… they’re eating the cats” clip from his debate with Kamala Harris, but there was a deeper issue at play. Springfield residents were worried about the burden on their community posed by a wave of immigrants that had come in during the Biden years — up to 20,000, by estimates at the time.

According to Jane Doe, the woman who claims she was gang raped by seven members of the Chi Phi frat house at Cornell University in the early morning hours of October 20, 2024, the men gave her drugs and alcohol until she was too incapacitated to know they were raping her.

Nevertheless, as of now, all the contemporaneous evidence we have seen points to a 20-year-old woman who showed up at a frat house after having a few drinks, agreed to a threesome, and then agreed to hours of group sex, which she would later describe in a text (approvingly) as a gang bang.

Then, about two weeks later, after news of the event spread around campus and she felt slut-shamed, Jane Doe gave a statement to the campus police where she still agreed that everything that happened to her that night was consensual, including the drinking and the consumption of illegal drugs.

It was only two years later (and a few weeks before a midterm election) that Jane Doe cried rape by way of a high-profile civil suit with the claim that seven Chi Phi frat brothers, now known as the Cornell 7, drugged her into oblivion so they could gang rape her.

The ensuing drip-drip-drip of text messages that various reports claim were written by Jane Doe in the days and weeks after the event show the exact opposite, and on Tuesday, a text message has been released that, if it is indeed hers, raises questions about her claim of being incapacitated by drugs.

SCOTUS To Decide If Leftist Group Can Acquire DOGE Records– thefederalist.com

EXCERPT:

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to take up a major case that will decide whether a leftist nonprofit can acquire records from President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The high court revealed in its newest order list that it has added U.S. DOGE Service v. U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to its 2026 merits docket. This means that the justices have agreed to schedule the case for oral argument and will subsequently release a decision on the merits of the issues presented.

The case’s origins can be traced back to early 2025, when the nonprofit Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking to obtain records about DOGE, which was established to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. This included attempts to acquire DOGE’s “organizational chart and financial disclosures,” according to CBS News.

As described by InfluenceWatch, the Soros-backed CREW is a leftist advocacy group “focused on public integrity issues.” The organization has gained a reputation for “opposing actions of both the first and second Trump administrations,” which includes filing “several lawsuits challenging administrative actions since the beginning of the second Trump administration in 2025.”

In rejecting CREW’s request, the Trump administration argued that DOGE is not subject to FOIA because it serves as an advisory entity to the president and operates as part of his office. As such, CREW asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to compel DOGE to turn over the sought-after records.

Socialist group prevails in legal battle, seizes lucrative retirement account from professor’s nephews

A national socialist group successfully seized a $6.6 million retirement account from the four nephews of a deceased professor.

Professor David Greenberg died in 2024, setting off a legal battle over his estate, valued at nearly $10 million. The New York University professor had no will, but previously listed the “New American Movement” as the beneficiary of his school retirement plan.

That group later merged with the Democratic Socialists of America, of which Greenberg was also a dues paying member.

The DSA recently won a court battle against Greenberg’s four nephews for the lion’s share of his estate, a $6.6 million retirement account.

National co-chair Ashik Siddique addressed criticism last month over the group’s lawsuit against Greenberg’s family.

“We don’t see any contradiction between being socialists and organizing to have money in a capitalist society,” Siddique said,” according to the New York Times. “The more the better,” he said, “as long as it is meaningfully supporting the decisions that our members make together.”

A Red Dwarf is Taking its Time Eating a Brown Dwarf– www.universetoday.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

Most of what happens to any individual star during its lifetime is determined by its mass. Massive stars die young in supernova explosions, small red dwarfs linger for trillions of years, and mid-size stars like our Sun enjoy about ten billion years of fusion. But interactions between stars aren’t uncommon, and they shape stellar destinies, too.

Stars are born in clusters that slowly drift apart. But many stars stay bound to one another in binary systems. Astronomers observed one such binary star where the more massive of the pair, a small red dwarf (M dwarf) is very slowly consuming its companion. In this case, the companion is a brown dwarf. Putting aside the argument over whether a brown dwarf is truly a star or not, the pair, which is only about 300 light years away, is giving astronomers an opportunity to study stellar cannibalism.

New research in Nature Astronomy presents their observations and analysis. It’s titled “Stable mass transfer from a substellar object onto an M dwarf,” and the first author is Aaron Householder, a graduate student in MIT’s Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences. Householder works with Kevin Burdge, assistant professor of physics at MIT.

Massive stars consuming less massive objects like planets is not rare. There are many examples of stars engulfing exoplanets. In those cases, the planet doesn’t last long before being drawn into the star and being destroyed. The only evidence of the engulfment is often an unusual concentration of metals in the star’s upper layer.

For months now, almost every time a Democrat has been asked by someone in the media about the far-out views of a candidate who is part of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), we have heard about how their party is a ‘big tent.’

This simply doesn’t cut it because what they are saying is that their tent is big enough for someone who wants to defund the police or promote the gender transition of minors, but not big enough for anyone who wants to enforce our immigration laws or protect the gun rights of law-abiding citizens.

DNC Chairman Ken Martin is still using this talking point, less than a month before the midterms.

FOX News reports:

DNC Chair Ken Martin defends ‘Big Tent’ strategy when pressed on democratic socialists

Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin defended his party’s big-tent approach Monday, arguing Democrats must continue expanding their coalition even as Republicans target the party over its ties to democratic socialists.

Martin was pressed during an interview on MSNOW about whether the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is a liability for the party ahead of the midterm elections.

“So let me just say, I’ve always taken a big-tent approach to how you build a party,” Martin said. “That’s why I was successful for all these years in Minnesota. I believe you win through addition, not subtraction. You win by growing your coalition, not shrinking it.”

“And sometimes, is there a middle ground, though, when Americans see that…” interjected MSNOW anchor Peter Alexander.

“No, not at all, because that’s where the vast majority of Americans are at,” Martin replied. “Maybe right in the middle, or a little center-left, or a little center-right. But it doesn’t mean we can’t bring new voices into the party, right? Of course, we have to keep growing and we have to keep expanding this tent,” Martin reiterated.

The Politics of Global AI Governance — Global Security Review– globalsecurityreview.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

The growing gap between rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and inadequate verification mechanisms has created several challenges for the technology. In this context, global AI governance has become a central topic of discussion in the tech world. However, the discourse around AI focuses primarily on how the technology will be regulated. The central problem of global AI governance is no longer whether AI should be regulated, but whether states possess the power to regulate the actors and infrastructures on which they increasingly depend.

The international system has begun responding swiftly to evolving AI dynamics. Notably, the UN Global Digital Compact has established a framework for digital cooperation. The General Assembly has created the Independent International Scientific Panel on Artificial Intelligence, along with a Dialogue on AI Governance. In parallel, the European Union (EU) has moved towards an enforceable risk-based regulation through the AI Act. Likewise, the Council of Europe has also launched the first internationally binding treaty on AI. These initiatives are a step in the right direction. However, they lack a coherent global regime or direction, which impacts their effectiveness.

As the latest initiatives show, the U.S. relies on targeted export controls on advanced chips, voluntary frameworks, and a pro-innovation approach that preserves U.S. dominance. China, on the other hand, favors a state-driven approach, built around controls on generative AI. The EU, by contrast, prioritizes enforceable rules for high-risk and general-purpose AI, along with strong fundamental rights protection. The emerging AI order is therefore not one model, but several operating simultaneously. This fragmentation is not accidental. It reflects competing power struggles among national interests. In such an environment, the search for a global AI governance appears misguided.

Future AI governance is likely to mirror a hybrid model of international finance or trade regimes. Against this backdrop, private companies remain incredibly powerful, given their monopoly over data, models, computing power, and expertise, which are concentrated in a handful of private companies. This trend creates a governance paradox. Governments aim to regulate the private sector while remaining excessively dependent on it, creating a capacity challenge.

Democratic Party Is Undergoing Socialist Rebranding, RSC Members Say– www.dailysignal.com

EXCERPT:

Outspoken members of the congressional Republican Study Committee called out the Democratic Party for nominating self-proclaimed capitalist candidates in key districts while allegedly undergoing a socialist rebranding.

The members’ comments come after nearly the entire House Democratic caucus voted against a resolution condemning socialism this fall. Additionally, the Democratic Socialists of America organization has reached a record-high membership, and longtime Democratic House members earlier this spring said the party’s congressional leadership has been hijacked by progressives.

A new poll first reported by the Daily Signal also found that 84% of American Democrats under 29 have a favorable view of socialism.

“When Democrats claim they’re fighting for affordability, they’re lying,” House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., told the Daily Signal. “Their socialist policies will increase inflation up to 160%, cut paychecks by almost 30%, eliminate millions of jobs, and cost American families more than $350,000 over the next decade.”

“The contrast couldn’t be clearer: Republicans are lowering costs and putting more money into the pockets of hardworking families while socialists call a financial crisis their agenda,” Scalise continued.

Chairwoman of the RSC’s Article One Task Force, Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., added that the “calls to expand socialism in America have ignited a debate between commonsense versus crazy,” and that America “must never” elect the “false promise of ‘Democratic Socialism.’”

The Democratic Party did not respond to the Daily Signal’s request for comment.

Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s past remarks about the rule of law are coming back to haunt her after federal agents raided her Washington, D.C., home Monday morning, triggering a wave of backlash from Republicans who were quick to remind the congresswoman of her own words.

The Minnesota Democrat previously declared that “no one is above the law” following President Donald Trump’s indictment in 2023. Now, with Omar herself facing federal scrutiny, conservatives are throwing that statement right back at her.

The M7 has drawn fire on social media for being too heavy for troops. (RELATED: Inside The ‘Top Secret’ Plan That Led To Biggest Pro-Second Amendment Ruling In 90 Years)

“Besides weighing 50% more than an M4, this POS is heavily overloaded with janky tacticool features, takes special ammo produced by one monopoly supplier, and falls to pieces under stress,” one post says. “All it lacks to be a true exemplar of American tech is a QR code and frozen touch screen.”

The Army launched the NGSW program after the 2017 Small Arms Ammunition Configuration (SAAC) study, which validated a need for greater energy on target and reduced shooter error through advanced fire control. It addressed limitations of existing 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm systems against protected and unprotected threats at extended ranges and is the first major rifle and automatic rifle fielding of this nature in roughly 65 years.

The M7 weighed 9.8 pounds equipped with a suppressor, had a 20-round magazine, a 13.5-inch barrel and could be equipped with an optical sight, according to ArmyRecognition.com. The XM8 weighs 8.8 pounds with the suppressor, has a 25-round clip and an 11-inch barrel, according to the United States Army.

A particle does not have to pass through a magnetic field to be influenced by it. That surprising feature of quantum physics has now been recreated by researchers at the University of Oxford, who used a hybrid quantum computer to demonstrate how an invisible magnetic influence can bring a simulated particle’s movement to a complete stop.

The experiment reproduced a phenomenon known as the Aharonov-Bohm effect, in which a charged particle traveling around a region containing magnetic flux experiences a measurable change in its quantum state, even though its path never takes it through the magnetic field itself.

The Oxford team achieved this using a quantum system that combines qubits, the basic units of quantum information, with quantum oscillators, which represent vibrating motion. Their findings, published in Nature Physics, demonstrate how this combination could help scientists investigate fundamental interactions between matter and fields that are increasingly difficult to simulate using conventional computers.

A Strange Quantum Effect Predicted in 1959

In everyday physics, a charged particle responds to the electric and magnetic fields it encounters. Quantum mechanics, however, reveals that particles can behave in ways that have no straightforward counterpart in our ordinary experience.

Astoria is one of my favorites on the Oregon coast, a small town of around 9,000 people with great restaurants and craft shops. Two of them, a coffee shop and ceramics studio, are owned by a small businessperson, Audrey Long, who’s mailed herself five postcards since August to test the mail. The results have been grim, particularly since Oregon is a 100% vote-by-mail state.

So far, only two of the postcards have arrived, and the first one took more than a month (and Oregon doesn’t even send out ballots until next Wednesday). Across the street from one of her shops, the town’s city hall isn’t getting its mail reliably, either, and the same is true for the tenants of a 40-unit apartment building next door, according to reporting by Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley is looking into it, his office telling OPB’s reporter, “The timing of these issues is especially concerning.”

At first, I figured this was a one-off, something weird or broken in the Astoria post office. But when I mentioned this on the air Monday of this week, my lines were flooded with calls from states across the nation saying that they’re having similar problems with the mail. The calls have continued every day since.

Yesterday, an American listener who follows us on YouTube from Germany called in to say that his ballot was mailed out on Sept. 19 (the law requires all foreign-resident ballots to go out by then) and he’s tracking it online but it still hasn’t arrived at his home in Mannheim.

The Labour Party-run British government reportedly provided funding used to train leftist activists to prevent Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party or the Conservatives from coming to power and to stifle the public’s concerns over mass migration.

In the wake of the 2024 Southport Riots, which broke out after a second-generation Rwandan teen went on a mass stabbing at a children’s dance party, leaving three dead and ten others injured, then-Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner announced a £15 million ($20m) “community cohesion” fund supposedly intended to prevent more disorder.

“In the immediate aftermath of the unrest, I was heartened to see the extent to which communities so quickly came together to support one another and their local areas, she said at the time. “This new Community Recovery Fund will support the work that is already under way and ensure that communities have the resources they need to rebuild.”

However, according to a report from London’s Daily Telegraph, some of the money from the fund was channeled through Labour-run city councils into left-wing political projects, including the training of activists by groups such as the School of Organising, which was reportedly founded by former members of the far-left cancel culture Hope Not Hate group.

The broadsheet reported that materials produced for the training sessions included instructions on how to convince voters to reject Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and the “Tory-Right”, while coaching activists up on strategies to shift working-class communities away from voting for right-wing parties.

But the people will vote in November.

AI labs are buying data from dead startups to train their models– www.technologyreview.com

SimpleClosure added data sales to its services in April. Its Asset Hub platform helps founders sell their code and workspace data—emails, chats, documents. Buyers include foundation AI labs, vendors that construct simulated workspaces for AI training, and mature tech companies building their own models. Asset Hub has handled over 150 deals and expects to return over $10 million to startups by the end of 2026. CEO Dori Yona has seen these transactions, once rare and “somewhat taboo,” become increasingly routine, with 47% of SimpleClosure deals now including code or data sales.

And it’s got company. Industry rival Sunset also has a rapidly growing data resale business. Founder and CEO Brendan Mahony says Sunset values a dying client’s assets by head count, years in operation, volume of data, and how the team used its tools. Particle board, he says, is a good analogy: “This operational exhaust data is like the wood shavings that everyone thought had no value, but it actually has a ton.”

Demand for defunct companies’ data emerged suddenly last year, as AI training labs hit the limits of public and synthetic datasets. Surge AI, for example, buys data to build “reinforcement-learning gyms” where clients’ AI agents practice tasks—think debugging a complex IT architecture or drafting appellate briefs. Nick Heiner, who leads the company’s work on these environments, says he seeks data archives reflecting a range of situations, from disagreements to tricky judgment calls. Heiner explains that one company’s Slack history, if it captures conversations with variety and depth, can be worth more than another’s Slack, email, and calendars combined.

Real archives avoid common errors in synthetic worlds, such as references to dates that don’t exist, but the extent of performance gains remains unclear. No company has yet released tests comparing results of real-world data training with the alternatives. Pricing reflects this uncertainty: Buyers quote wildly different numbers, Heiner says, because valuations are based on “research theses” estimating how many useful tasks come from, say, 100,000 lines of code.

Before a recruiter reads a résumé, software may sort applications, identify keywords, rank candidates, answer screening questions or determine which applicants advance. Some systems are relatively simple filtering tools. Others use machine learning or artificial intelligence to evaluate applicants across multiple data points.

There is nothing inherently wrong with using technology to manage a hiring process. Employers have legitimate reasons to use it. A company receiving hundreds or thousands of applications cannot expect recruiters to manually examine every document with unlimited time and resources.

The harder question is what happens when efficiency becomes a substitute for judgment.

When an automated system influences who receives a chance to compete for a job, it is no longer merely an administrative convenience. It becomes part of the infrastructure through which people gain access to economic opportunity.

That deserves more scrutiny.
