Quantum Physics Reveals a Limit on Thermalization Speed– www.techexplorist.com

EXCERPT:

Leave a hot cup of coffee on the table, and it gradually cools. Put a bottle of milk in the refrigerator and, given enough time, it reaches the same temperature as everything around it.

This everyday process, known as thermalization, is one of nature’s most universal behaviors. No matter how complex a system is, it eventually settles into equilibrium. While there is no doubt about whether or not systems will settle into equilibrium, physicists have been trying to answer the question of how quickly systems will reach this state for many years.

A new study suggests there is a fundamental limit.

Researchers at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, along with colleagues in Austria and Switzerland, have shown that quantum mechanics itself imposes a universal speed limit on thermalization. Their findings indicate that no physical system can reach thermal equilibrium faster than a timescale set by a handful of fundamental constants.

Incoming House Socialists Vow to Target Trump and ‘All the Cronies That Helped Get Him Elected’– slaynews.com

Two socialist Democrats likely headed to Congress are arguing that impeaching President Donald Trump a third time would backfire against their party, while outlining plans to use congressional investigations against his administration and political allies.

Melat Kiros, the Democrat nominee in Colorado’s 1st Congressional District, and New York Democratic Party nominee Darializa Avila Chevalier raised concerns during a Politico podcast that impeachment could give Republicans a political advantage.

Both candidates are members of the Democratic Socialists of America running in deep blue districts, and they are expected to win their races next month.

Their hesitation centers on strategy, not support for Trump.

Chevalier said she remains open to impeachment, while Kiros accused him of impeachable offenses without identifying specific conduct.

“Simply blocking AI tools is not a sustainable solution,” says Boris Kolev, global head of technology at JA Worldwide, a global educational nonprofit with almost 5,000 employees that serves more than 20 million people a year.

For JA Worldwide in particular, the problem was exacerbated by the fact that there was no approved solution until three months ago. As a result, employees got into the habit of using personal AI platforms.

“It was totally uncontrolled,” Kolev says. “Everyone who wanted to explore AI was using public models.”

At the beginning, people didn’t worry about what they shared and uploaded. “We tried to implement some policies, like ‘don’t upload corporate information.’ But it was hard to know what people were doing.”

Plus, AI was being embedded everywhere. On Windows. In people’s phones. “A user cannot avoid it,” says Kolev.

Then, earlier this year, the organization built a routing system, with enterprise-safe versions of Claude and ChatGPT running in private environments on AWS and Azure, in addition to some open-source models.

On Monday, CNN’s Inside Politics discussed the recent controversies of Democratic Michigan Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed, including being asked to disavow the Muslim Brotherhood at a campaign event. Host Dana Bash called El-Sayed’s shift from the question to gas prices ”fascinating,” while senior political analyst Mark Preston related the controversies to “institutionalized xenophobia and racism” in politics.

Last week on NBC Nightly News, El-Sayed gave a feisty response to NBC’s Tom Llamas when asked about his family’s possible ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, as if he was insulted by the question

Bash first recalled the Muslim Brotherhood disavowal moment over the weekend at a campaign event:

El-Sayed was asked by a man named Tommy over the weekend in a clip that went viral if he condemns the Muslim Brotherhood. There was a long back-and-forth exchange, and during that, El-Sayed responded, “Sure, yeah, absolutely.” But Rogers said that wasn’t a total disavowal.

Adam Hamilton Claims Christians Don’t Have to Believe in Virgin Birth– www.breitbart.com
News Source

EXCERPT:

Democrat Kansas U.S. Senate candidate and woke Methodist pastor Adam Hamilton claimed the Virgin Birth is an optional belief for Christians and is only insisted upon in “fundamentalism.”

Hamilton, who is the senior pastor of the Church of the Resurrection, the largest United Methodist congregation in the country, indulged in the heresy last year on his podcast, Making Sense of Faith with Adam Hamilton.

“Now, we’re all children of God, but in a different way, Jesus was the son of God. And in the early church, they began to talk about Mary as ‘theotokos,’ which was a term that meant ‘God-bearer,’ that God actually entered into her womb through this child. Now, how did the biology of that work? How did the conception of that exactly work? I don’t think it’s trying to explain that,” Hamilton said. “I believe in the virgin birth because these stories tell it, and it’s one of those places where, in a sense, I suspend my logic to be able to say, ‘You know what? I don’t know exactly what happened, so I’m going with this story.’ I choose to trust and believe in the virgin birth.”

“But interestingly enough, throughout the rest of the New Testament, other than Matthew and Luke’s gospel, it’s not mentioned anywhere. We don’t find the virginal conception mentioned in any of Paul’s letters, the Book of Acts, anywhere else,” he continued. “…But if it was so important, if you had to believe in the Virgin Birth story in order to be a Christian, we would have found Paul talking about it — so whether Paul has not thought about it, or whether he didn’t know the stories, or he just didn’t feel like he needed to reference them.”:

So I say to people who tell me, “I’m not really sure I can believe in the Virgin of birth.” I’m like, “That’s okay. I just want you to follow Jesus.” He didn’t come to his disciples and say, “Hey, let me tell you the story about how I was conceived. And now if you believe that, you can be one of my disciples.” He never said that. He just said, “Come follow me,” … So, for me, I recognize the challenges of that, and I also … choose to believe this. What I really believe about it isn’t a biology lesson; it’s a theology lesson and who I think Jesus is.

…There was a period of time — so Christian fundamentalism, in part, was a reaction to, like sort of liberalizing, and a willingness to read the scriptures and read them metaphorically, you know, those kind of stories. And so when Christian fundamentalism took off, one of the fundamentals was the Virgin Birth. You have to believe in the Virgin Birth or you can’t be a real Christian. And I think, again, I believe in the virgin, uh, original conception of Jesus. I choose to believe that, but I understand how that’s a struggling point for some people to begin with, and, again, I think Jesus would not have said, “Look, you need to understand exactly how I was conceived in order to be able to follow me.”

The Virgin Birth is notably part of the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed and is essential to understanding the miraculous nature of Jesus’s birth and his ability to be both fully God and fully man at the same time. Jesus being born of a virgin through the Holy Spirit is clearly laid out in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew and Luke and is also foretold in the Old Testament book of Isaiah, meaning the Virgin Birth is the fulfillment of a prophecy from 600 or 700 years before.

Hamilton also previously said the Bible contains “hundreds” of errors. In a 2022 sermon, he suggested Muslims, Hindus, and adherents of other faiths would reach Heaven and recognize Jesus after death.

In 2015, Hamilton questioned how much “latitude” Christians have to push back on the Bible, including whether they can say the Apostle Paul was “wrong.”

The Church of the Resurrection under his leadership partnered with Kansas City PrideFest to sponsor a “Drag Queen Story Time & Gay Pride Festival,” according to previous reporting by Breitbart News.

Hamilton has voiced his support for legal abortion, Black Lives Matter, and affirming same-sex marriage within the United Methodist Church — all while presenting himself as a moderate.

Hamilton is running for the U.S. Senate in Kansas against incumbent Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS). The race is projected to be extremely close, with RealClear Polling showing Marshall an average of 0.7 points ahead.

America is in the midst of a manufacturing renaissance. Unprecedented in its speed, it is driven by Trump’s tariffs and factory-targeted tax cuts.

Companies can now expense 100 percent of the cost of building a factory on American soil instead of depreciating those costs over 39 years. The year you pour the concrete is the year you write it off. For a chief financial officer deciding where to build the next plant, that one provision changes the location decision.

The Trump tariffs are a protective wall. President Trump has said, If you are a foreign company and you want to avoid our tariffs, build here. Invest here. Hire here.

You can see the Trump manufacturing renaissance in the macro data, in the micro data, and along highways across flyover country.

Start with the macro. In the Biden administration’s last two years, America lost 230,000 manufacturing jobs. Since December 2025, American manufacturers have added 72,000 jobs, with factory payrolls rising in each of the last four months through September.

Through most of 2023 and 2024, the ISM Manufacturing Index languished below 50, the line between contraction and expansion. In January it climbed back above 50, where it has stayed for nine straight months.

WASHINGTON: The US Supreme Court on Monday (Oct 19) rejected an appeal by accused 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and two alleged accomplices that sought to revive plea deals which were later revoked.

Mohammed and two others charged with involvement in the Sep 11, 2001 attacks – Walid bin Attash and Mustafa al-Hawsawi – struck pre-trial agreements to avoid the death penalty in 2024, during the administration of president Joe Biden.

After criticism by some victims’ families, Biden’s defence secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the plea deals to be thrown out, sparking a legal battle over whether or not such a move was permitted.

An appellate court ruled last year that Austin had “acted within the bounds of his legal authority.”

A brief, unsigned opinion by the Supreme Court on Monday said it would not take up the appeal.

China was once the top holder of U.S. Treasuries but has been shedding its massive stockpile for years, fueling fears of de-dollarization, but official data may not fully capture Beijing’s actual portfolio.

The decline began in earnest around 2021, but as recently as April 2022, China still held $1 trillion in Treasury securities. U.S. data on Friday show that’s been whittled down to just $591 billion as of August, the lowest in 18 years and down from $700 billion a year earlier.

But the data is collected primarily from U.S.-based custodians and broker-dealers, according to the Treasury Department, which adds that U.S. securities held in overseas custody accounts may not be attributed to the actual owners.

As a result, China watchers have long been skeptical of a wholesale dumping of U.S. assets, pointing to suspicious jumps in Treasury holdings elsewhere that coincide with the steep Chinese drop.

The Pope’s tweet and the quiet suicide of order– www.americanthinker.com

On the World Day Against the Death Penalty, Pope Leo XIV posted a short statement that will be quoted by every abolitionist group in the country: the death penalty is “inadmissible” because it attacks the “inviolability and dignity of the person.” Effective detention, he insists, can protect society while still leaving the guilty a chance at redemption. The timing was not accidental. It arrived the day after Vatican officials and U.S. bishops condemned the planned execution of Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood jihadist who murdered thirteen soldiers and wounded dozens more in 2009.

Read the words again. The Pope is not arguing that Hasan is innocent, that the military court erred, or that the evidence was thin. He is arguing that the state should permanently warehouse a man who opened fire on unarmed troops in the name of jihad, and that this warehouse arrangement is somehow more consistent with human dignity than a public, final reckoning. That is not a theological refinement. It is a leadership failure with civilizational consequences.

Empires do not usually fall because barbarians suddenly appear at the gates. They fall because their own leaders lose the nerve to name evil, punish it in public, and thereby teach the next generation that certain lines are never crossed. When the highest moral authority in the West treats the execution of a mass murderer as an attack on dignity, ordinary people notice. Criminals notice. The next Nidal Hasan notices. The message is simple: the worst thing you can do to the community is still preferable to the worst thing the community can do to you.

New York City’s socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani is trying to block ICE operations in New York by denying overnight parking slots for federal agents’ vehicles.

Mamdani, the leader of the state’s communist and environmental coalition, along with 100 Democrat officials across the sanctuary state, joined together in a letter asking parking lot and parking garage owners to tell Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal officers that they are not welcome, according to the Gothamist.

“Make it known to ICE that it is not authorized to use your garages and lots,” the radical mayor says in his letter.

Blurb:

A Biden-appointed judge dealt the Trump administration another legal blow Thursday, tossing its lawsuit seeking to upend New York City’s sanctuary policies after ruling that the Justice Department’s arguments amounted to a “backdoor around the Tenth Amendment.”

The Trump administration sued New York City in July 2025, alleging that its sanctuary laws unlawfully hinder federal immigration enforcement by restricting local law enforcement’s cooperation with federal authorities.

The New York City case is one of more than two dozen lawsuits the Trump administration has filed against state and local jurisdictions over sanctuary and related policies restricting cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

But U.S. District Judge Ramón E. Reyes Jr. ruled the federal government lacked standing to challenge New York City’s restrictions on honoring ICE detainers and rejected the Justice Department’s claims that the city’s sanctuary policies are preempted by federal law.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has a Republican challenger within striking distance, according to a new campaign poll that puts Saritha Komatireddy just six points behind the Democratic incumbent.

The survey, conducted by OnMessage Inc. for Komatireddy and obtained by the New York Post, showed James leading 50.7% to 44.7%, with about 4% undecided. A Siena University poll last month gave James a 13-point advantage.

The Republican internal poll offers an encouraging snapshot for Komatireddy in deep-blue New York, though the two surveys were conducted by different pollsters. OnMessage surveyed 1,000 likely voters Oct. 12-14 and reported a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.

James’ strength in New York City is keeping her ahead statewide. She led Komatireddy 65% to 30% in the five boroughs, while the Republican held advantages on Long Island, across the broader downstate suburbs and upstate.

The campaign’s clearest opening may be among independents, who favored Komatireddy 49% to 43%.

James’ standing with those voters has also deteriorated, according to the pollster. In May, 40% viewed her favorably and 37% unfavorably. Her favorable rating remained at 40% in the latest survey, but her unfavorable rating climbed to 51%, with many describing their opinion as “very unfavorable.”

“This is where a well-funded closing message makes the difference,” the GOP pollster said.

James Talarico’s Faith-Centered Campaign Hit by Brutal Disclosure as Voting Begins– wltreport.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

A newly published report has dropped into the Texas Senate race at the worst possible moment for Democrat James Talarico: the opening of early voting. The story connects a series of crude older social-media posts to an X account that Talarico has publicly identified as belonging to his adoptive father, creating an immediate test for a campaign built heavily around faith, character, and moral witness.

There is an important boundary here: the report does not establish that Talarico wrote, approved, endorsed, or even knew about the posts. The political problem is the collision between the reported conduct of an account he linked to a man he has praised as a moral example and the image Talarico has chosen to put before Texas voters.

The Washington Examiner newly collected and reported the historical posts on October 18, rather than claiming they had just been written. It identified the account as belonging to Talarico’s adoptive father by pointing to Talarico’s own public exchanges, including a 2020 reply thanking “Pops” for teaching him and a 2022 correction in which he said another user had confused the account holder with his biological father.

The outlet reported that the account posted a crude response to a hypothetical involving Christ’s crucifixion in September 2023 and replied to an Ash Wednesday image in February 2023 with a video showing a vulgar word across a man’s forehead. It also described an August 2024 response to a woman’s Christian conversion testimony that invoked her family trauma, plus January 2024 posts that compared Kari Lake and three other Republican women to strip-club workers and used Disney villain Ursula in response to a photograph of Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The same report contrasted those posts with Talarico’s remarks at a March 2026 event, where he said his father taught him that manhood involves caring for people, doing right when nobody is watching, and avoiding the online destruction of others. The outlet said Talarico’s campaign did not respond to its requests for comment, while also noting that it sought responses from representatives for Lake and Guilfoyle.

The Examiner’s report built its connection through Talarico’s public identification of the account, not through speculation about a shared surname. That distinction strengthens the relevance of the story while leaving responsibility for the posts with the account attributed to his adoptive father, where the available evidence places it.

Talarico’s own campaign message showed how closely the timing collided with the start of voting:

This is why the story cannot be brushed aside as random online noise, even though the posts are from 2023 and 2024. They were newly assembled and connected to Talarico’s public identification of the account just as he entered the final sprint against Republican nominee Ken Paxton.

Nor is this merely an awkward family story appearing beside an otherwise unrelated campaign message. Talarico has made religion, moral leadership, and lessons learned from his father significant parts of the public case he presents to voters, so the reported contradiction reaches directly into the political brand he chose.

The Texas Tribune documented in February how central Christianity and Talarico’s seminary background are to his public political identity. Its account described a candidate who regularly uses Scripture to defend progressive positions and who hopes open discussion of faith will help him reach Christian Texans who do not normally vote for Democrats.

The Tribune also explained why that approach has remained controversial among conservative evangelicals, some of whom view Talarico’s interpretation of Christianity as a distortion of their faith rather than a bridge to it. The article revisited his statement during a 2021 legislative debate that God is “nonbinary,” along with his later explanation that the phrase was deliberately provocative and intended to express his belief that God transcends gender.

That profile presented faith as more than biographical color or an occasional campaign theme. Talarico’s willingness to speak openly about Christianity was described as a core part of his strategy for reaching voters who might resist the Democratic label but remain receptive to religious arguments about public policy.

That background makes the new reporting especially combustible without making Talarico responsible for somebody else’s words. A candidate who places faith, moral instruction, and a family role model near the center of his appeal should expect voters and opponents to examine whether the public story holds together when uncomfortable evidence appears around it.

Paxton was already attacking Talarico on cultural and economic issues before voters began casting ballots:

In that October 18 message, Paxton promoted criticism of Talarico’s positions involving children, women’s sports, energy, and cattle, then argued that the Democrat belonged in California instead of Texas. The newly reported family-account controversy gives Republicans another line of pressure, but the fair question is one of campaign credibility and judgment, not guilt by association.

The timing leaves Talarico with little room to separate his broader message from the controversy or explain how voters should reconcile the two. It also gives Paxton’s campaign a fresh opening while the Republican nominee is already trying to make the race a referendum on Texas values and progressive cultural politics.

Talarico cannot reasonably be assigned authorship of posts written by another account, and no available reporting establishes that he approved them. Yet voters can still compare his public praise for the person he identified behind that account with the campaign’s repeated use of faith and character as qualifications for office.

The distinction is simple and essential: a relative’s alleged conduct does not prove wrongdoing by a candidate. When a politician publicly elevates that relative as a teacher of manhood and moral behavior, reporting that complicates the tribute becomes politically relevant, especially when the campaign offers no response to the publication making the report.

Early voting is no longer a distant date on the calendar, as Paxton reminded his supporters on the morning it began:

Texans started voting on October 19 with Paxton and Talarico serving as the major-party nominees for the U.S. Senate. A disclosure released one day earlier has little time to fade, be answered, or be put into context before voters make decisions that cannot be taken back.

Talarico deserves factual precision, and that means refusing to pin another person’s posts on him without evidence. He also deserves the same scrutiny any candidate invites when personal faith, moral consistency, and family example become selling points in a campaign for enormous public trust.

Now Texas voters can decide whether this newly reported contradiction changes their view of the man asking for their vote. The final stretch has begun, and a campaign built around moral clarity suddenly has a difficult credibility question sitting directly in its path.

The New York Post found that progressive donors have primarily funded the super PAC supporting Republican “Decoy Dan” Sullivan in Alaska’s Senate race.

Sullivan is known as “Decoy Dan” because he filed to run using the same name and party affiliation as incumbent Republican Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan.

The news fuels theories that Democrat operatives put Sullivan on the Alaska ballot to confuse voters, especially as the race between Sen. Sullivan and former Democrat Rep. Mary Peltola has grown close.

The super PAC is called Right for Alaska:

New financial disclosures support that theory. Right for Alaska, a super PAC that has spent close to $1.15 million to support “Decoy Dan,” took in approximately $990,000 from the left-wing Sixteen Thirty Fund, according to Federal Election Commission data.

Right For Alaska, whose mailing address is located in the Twin Cities suburb of Hudson, Wis., also got $1.8 million from the Liberty Force Action Fund, a dark money 501(c)(4) that doesn’t have to disclose its donors.

Both Right for Alaska and the Liberty Force Action Fund list as their treasurer a man named Thomas Datwyler — previously linked to lying former Long Island Rep. George Santos (R-NY).

CAIRO — A rare drone attack on Sudan’s capital killed three children Monday, a rights group said, as both sides in the country’s war step up airstrikes that have killed dozens of civilians in the Kordofan region in recent days.

The strike, which the group blamed on Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, killed children ages two, four and six in Imtidad Nasser, a neighborhood east of Khartoum’s airport. The RSF has been at war with the Sudanese military for more than three years.

Sayed Mustafa, a resident of the area, told The Associated Press he saw a drone flying toward the airport and heard anti-aircraft fire engage it.

“Shortly after, the drone went down, and we heard an explosion near the airport,” Mustafa said.

Emergency Lawyers, a group that tracks violence against civilians in Sudan’s war, condemned the attack, calling it a humanitarian tragedy and a “serious violation” that requires investigation and accountability.

Propaganda media exist for one reason and one reason only — to advance their left-wing political allies’ destructive agenda. Anyone who tuned into their coverage of this weekend’s French riots experienced this unspoken mission statement firsthand.

As far-left radicals and Islamists dressed in dark clothes and masks and wielding Palestinian flags desecrated historic buildings and landmarks throughout the once-respectable republic, the “democracy dies in darkness” crowd worked overtime to convince audiences at home that these violent riots were nothing more than “student protests” against school policies.

While characterizing the riots as “some of the worst violence the country has witnessed for decades,” Reuters described the leftist and Third Worlder violence as “demonstrations against rising living costs and declining public services [that] spiralled out of control.” The Associated Press similarly dubbed the riots “nationwide protests against rising living costs and poor conditions in schools.”

On X, the Seattle-based KOMO News summarized this weekend’s violence as “student demonstrations over teacher shortages and poor school conditions [that] broadened into a nationwide protest over rising living costs and fuel prices.” The English division of the Qatari-backed Al Jazeera also described the riots “spreading” in France and other European nations as “student protests.”
