President Trump has decided to not recognize the sovereignty of the state of Somaliland. The administration went further in a report from the State Department claiming the U.S. recognizes Somalia as having sovereignty over Somaliland. The report also claims the U.S. is open to cooperating with Somaliland on security issues.
