The U.S. Fertility Rate for 2025 fell from the previous low in 2024 of 53.8 births per 1,000 females aged 15 to 44 to 53.1 births. The U.S. birthrate fell below replacement levels shortly after the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling legalizing pre-born human termination, or abortion, as it is commonly called.
