With a WEF member at the helm in Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Poland appears poised to significantly increase its ties with embattled Ukraine, entering in to an agreement to develop joint air defenses, as well as integrating their arms industries. WARSAW, Poland — With the war in Ukraine expected to dominate the agenda of the NATO summit that begins in Washington today, the Kyiv government signed a security cooperation agreement with Poland, one of its staunchest allies.

The deal, signed in Warsaw on July 8 by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, foresees Polish support for integrating the Ukrainian defense industry with Western partners, and it calls for air-defense cooperation between the two nations in the event of an attack.

In a statement released by his office, Tusk said his country will push allies during the summit to accelerate the process of admitting Ukraine to NATO and make the alliance’s aid to Kyiv even more efficient.

“Also in Washington, Poland has been very active in promoting Ukraine’s accession to NATO,” Zelenskyy said at a press conference here following the ceremonial signing of the security pact.

Ukraine is preparing to fight Putin – with a robot army.

The beleaguered country is crowdfunding for bots to fight the Russians, who invaded in February 2022.

The first fundraiser towards terrestrial robotic platforms was announced at the recent UNITED24 anniversary summit by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As well as robots to carry supplies and wounded soldiers, there will also be squadrons of kamikaze bots sent to take out enemy troops and vehicles.

UNITED24, Ukraine’s official fundraising platform, says: “Squads of robots will save the lives of our military and civilians. They will become logistics devices, tow trucks, minelayers and deminers, as well as self-destructive robots. They will fight alongside people and for people.

“The first robots are already proving their effectiveness on the battlefield, but there are many more required.”

The Polish Foreign Minister, Radek Sikorski, has declared that Poland is willing to put troops into Ukraine to help the country’s fight against the Russian invasion. He also added that NATO should essentially have the same approach, saying “We should not exclude any option. Let Putin be guessing as to what we will do.”

The Biden administration last week put a hold on a shipment of U.S.-made ammunition to Israel, two Israeli officials told Axios. It is the first time since the Oct. 7 attack that the U.S. has stopped a weapons shipment intended for the Israeli military.

The incident raised serious concerns inside the Israeli government and sent officials scrambling to understand why the shipment was held, Israeli officials said.

President Biden is facing sharp criticism among Americans who oppose his support of Israel. The administration in February asked Israel to provide assurances that U.S.-made weapons were being used by Israel Defense Forces in Gaza in accordance with international law. Israel provided a signed letter of assurances in March.

It’s always nice when your political opponents make your arguments for you. And in the recent dustup over the $60 billion Ukraine subsidy bill — which in late April passed the House and Senate — that’s precisely what foreign policy hawks have done.

As many beltway wonks have observed, increasing debate in the United States over funding the two-year-old war in Ukraine — not to mention our myriad other military commitments around the globe — has led many U.S. allies to reconsider their own defense spending.

In other words, just the fact that there is no longer a consensus about America’s “policeman of the world” post-Cold War security strategy among the American people and their representatives is persuading our allies to meet the various military commitments we have been demanding of them since Ronald Reagan was president. That should be designated a strategic win, but, as interpreted by our blinkered foreign policy establishment — who have unswervingly endorsed the growing number of U.S. military disasters this century — it is somehow a loss.
