Just last night, California Gov. Gavin Newsom was doing exactly that on Stephen Colbert’s late-night “comedy” show. Here’s Newsom talking about his bill to try to unmask ICE. He claims they are disappearing people and acting without due process. This is just a lie.

The Department of Homeland Security said that it would not comply with a ban on masks for agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement from California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).

Newsom included the ban in a handful of new bills meant to interfere with federal efforts to deport illegal aliens in California. Another bill required school administrators to notify parents and students if there are federal operations near school campuses.

‘I’ve directed our federal agencies that the law signed today has no effect on our operations.’

On Monday, DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement saying the department would not comply with the order.

“To be clear: We will NOT comply with Gavin Newsom’s unconstitutional mask ban,” the statement reads.

“At a time that ICE law enforcement faces a 1,000% increase in assaults and their family members are being doxxed and targeted, the sitting Governor of California signed unconstitutional legislation that strips law enforcement of protections in a disgusting, diabolical fundraising and PR stunt,” McLaughlin added.

MEXICO CITY — The U.S. Treasury Department on Thursday sanctioned members of a Sinaloa cartel faction known as Los Mayos, one of the groups that has tormented Sinaloa’s capital in an ongoing war for control.

The move came on the same day that U.S. Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence John K. Hurley is visiting Mexico, and after the Trump administration designated the Sinaloa cartel as a terrorist group earlier this year.

Hurley is meeting with Mexican authorities and business leaders to discuss strategies for combating drug trafficking, cartel operations and illicit financing. The California State University professor whom the California Faculty Association claimed was “kidnapped” by Immigration and Customs Enforcement has officially been indicted by a grand jury for assaulting federal officers.

In July, the CFA had alleged ICE tossed CSU Channel Islands professor Jonathan Caravello into an unmarked vehicle “without identifying themselves” or giving a reason for the arrest.

The night before the incident, Caravello had told the City of Camarillo Council that he was “patrolling the city streets following armed masked thugs trying to kidnap my [undocumented] neighbors.”

Caravello, who teaches math and philosophy and researches epistemology, rationality, and “transcendental arguments,” became involved with a protest against an ICE raid of the Glass House Farms marijuana facility.

Despite complaints by the CFA and the university that Caravello was “peacefully” demonstrating, U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said the professor was arrested for throwing a tear gas canister at officers.
