There couldn’t possibly be a clearer example of media perfidy and dishonesty: back in May 2017, the Washington Post published a story about how President Trump supposedly urged Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats and National Security Agency Director Adm. Michael S. Rogers to deny that there was any evidence that he had colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. There was just one catch: the story was false, and Rogers said as much to the FBI as far back as June 2017. Yet not only did the Post not take the story down; it’s still up, eight years later and long after the Russian Collusion hoax has been definitively debunked.

The story was one of many in the Post about Trump’s much-publicized collusion with Russia that won the Post the Pulitzer Prize. And apparently that was all that mattered. Truth? Accuracy? Integrity? Come on, man!

The story, along with the rest about the alleged Russian Collusion, sold papers, and made the WaPo seem as if it was once again on the cutting edge of investigative journalism. The Post was even fearlessly taking on a president of the United States, recalling the heady days of Watergate when Woodward and Bernstein bearded the wily Tricky Dick, became Redford and Hoffman, and made the Post into one of the leading newspapers in the left’s constellation of propaganda organs.

The opportunity to relive the glory days was apparently too much for the Post, and overrode all other considerations. As Matt Margolis noted Sunday, “it’s unclear whether the Post knew Rogers disputed their report before publishing it, but Rogers made it clear to investigators shortly afterward that the story was false.”

Prof believes universities are ‘independent’ and ‘beacons of academic integrity and free speech’

The latest authoritarian hyperbole out of academia comes from an Arizona State University “teaching and learning innovation” professor and dean.

In The Conversation, Iveta Silova chides President Trump’s efforts to curb antisemitism and DEI on American campuses, claiming “many” universities are “widely seen globally as beacons of academic integrity and free speech.”

Silova (pictured), “a scholar of comparative and international education,” says the president’s strategy of pressuring universities has “a few historical parallels” … which just happen to include Nazi Germany and Stalin’s USSR.

In the former, Silova says universities “adapted” to the Nazis’ takeover of government, and once Hitler had control he “moved swiftly to purge academic institutions of Jews and political opponents” through such means as the “Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service.”

When Taylor Lorenz was with The Washington Post, a paper she’s now left to start her own Substack, she went after Libs of TikTok founder Chaya Raichik — whom she had doxed — for a report that claimed a link between “at least 33 instances” of threats against targets the social media account had covered.

It was “a pretty significant correlation,” Lorenz stated during an interview with Raichik. Raichik then noted that, after she was doxed by Lorenz, she “got tons of death threats this week after the entire media machine came after me. So are they responsible for those?”

No, Lorenz said during the February 2024 interview, telling her that she didn’t “think there’s, um, the same correlation.”

It’s worth noting, too, that Lorenz had gone on TV to cry about the horrors of online harassment … before doxing Raichik herself and leaving her to the wolves of the online horde, of course.

Professor Jose Felipe Alvergue, head of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire English Department, has been placed on administrative leave after allegedly flipping over a table set up by the university’s College Republicans.

The incident occurred Tuesday morning, a special Election Day in Wisconsin, as members of UW-Eau Claire’s College Republicans set up an informational table advocating for conservative Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel and superintendent candidate Brittany Kinser.

“A professor came up and flipped our table in a violent attack towards us,” Tatiana Bobrowicz, the CR chapter chair, stated in a video posted to social media following the incident. “This is unacceptable.”

According to a statement issued by Interim Provost Michael Carney, administration quickly placed Alvergue on administrative leave pending a formal investigation.

Democrat Senator for Arizona and former Tesla owner Mark Kelly has refused to label the string of violence seen against Tesla dealerships, charging stations, and vehicles launched in protest of Elon Musk’s work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as “domestic terrorism.” This comes after he himself sold his own Tesla to protest Musk and Trump.

When asked if the attacks against DOGE were terrorism, Kelly told Fox News, “Certainly vandalism and it’s a crime.” He added, “It’s a significant crime, especially if you’re going to firebomb a car or vandalize somebody’s vehicle or even key somebody’s vehicle. They shouldn’t be doing it. And these should be investigated. And if people are caught, they should be prosecuted.”

In March, Kelly said that he had ditched his Tesla because it was a “rolling billboard for a man dismantling our government and hurting people.” He switched to a Chevy Taho SUV. Attorney General Pam Bondi, as well as Musk, have called the attacks “domestic terrorism.”

Agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations arrested a U.S. citizen after he allegedly posted detailed death threats online against ICE agents and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Threats against ICE and other federal agents from radical leftists have risen in recent months as the Trump administration does everything in its power to carry out mass deportations now that the border crisis is over.

In its announcement, the HSI Dallas field office said Robert King’s “terroristic threats” against ICE agents and Noem were “alarming” because they included intentions to “open fire” if he saw agents in his neighborhood.

‘We gave you a visa to come and study and get a degree — not to become a social activist that tears up our university campuses.’

In response to another online video where the TikTok user appeared to make a self-defense case for shooting ICE agents, Noem vowed that clear and direct threats against law enforcement will not be tolerated.

It’s a day that ends in “y,” so you know that Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett has said something absurd.

Only this time, her drivel isn’t so much infuriating, as it usually is, but actually kind of funny — though the laughs are at her expense.

The 44-year-old Crockett has recently emerged as one of the most public faces of the Democratic Party during President Donald Trump’s second term, often taking the pulpit to be the loudest and most annoying voice speaking out against the current presidential administration.

Her entire schtick is to babble endlessly (oftentimes with a peculiar accent) while using a bunch of leftist buzzwords, but she does it with a sass and attitude that some people apparently find appealing.

After Trump’s Election, NSF-Funded Censorship Tools Go Missing– thefederalist.com

The National Science Foundation (NSF) claims to be the place “where discoveries begin” — but it funded programs where free speech ends. When The Federalist asked if it still funds anti-“misinformation” tools, a representative simply pointed to its public grants database, which lists censorship projects funded during the Biden administration.

The public-interest law firm Alliance Defending Freedom sent NSF records requests in February to uncover any coordination between the federal agency and internet communications monopolies such as Google and Facebook.

NSF funds one-quarter of all federally funded academic fundamental research projects at U.S. higher education institutions, and funds technology development at approximately 400 “small businesses” each year. It has an annual budget of $8.5 billion. It also funds programs that exclude recipients based on race, according to an NSF factsheet.

The NSF’s “Convergence Accelerator,” which funds special research projects, launched a “cohort track” in 2021 for “Trust & Authenticity in Communication Systems.” Recipients developed software to control online speech labeled “misinformation” about politically sensitive topics including Covid-19 treatments and election integrity.

Even as President Trump’s approval on the economy slips, his support on immigration remains strong.  Americans solidly approve of his mass deportations policy, knowing full well that millions of people were allowed to enter the country illegally under the Biden administration.  Millions of convicted and accused criminals, as well as people with standing deportation orders, are among them.  Quite frankly, these numbers are a good start, but they’re just a start, given what the new president’s team and inherited and the enormity of the resulting task at hand:

Deportations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement surged above 100,000 since President Trump returned to the White House in January — as he maintains his promise to boot illegal migrants, alleged gangbangers and suspected terrorists from the United States, The Post has learned. ICE officials have made 113,000 arrests and carried out “north of” 100,000 deportations since Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration, a Department of Homeland Security source told The Post Monday. “He’s doing what he was voted in to do. Point blank!” an ICE source said. It wasn’t immediately clear how many detainees are convicted criminals, the status of their cases and their national origins — though sources believe the majority are being removed to Mexico. ICE has since “maxed out” its detention space and is asking Congress to fund additional beds to support the Trump administration’s deportation campaign that yielded 32,000 arrests in its first 50 days.

The Atlantic Caught Pushing Another Anti-Trump Hoax Story – PJ Media– pjmedia.com

As Signalgate fades into obscurity, joining the long list of failed attempts to manufacture a Trump administration scandal, The Atlantic has a new problem. A new Trump hit piece it published this week has been exposed as a lie.

The mainstream media is scrambling to discredit Trump’s mass deportation policy, pushing the false narrative that, despite the administration’s focus on removing criminal illegal aliens first, innocent people are being swept up alongside illegal alien gang members and felons.

Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor of The Atlantic, has a track record of publishing bogus hit pieces on Trump. In 2020, he pushed a debunked claim that Trump called fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers,” which even he later admitted might be false. In 2024, he spread another false story about Trump being upset over a soldier’s funeral bill — dismissed by other journalists but still published by The Atlantic. His history of dishonest reporting makes skepticism of his work not only justified but necessary.

On Monday, The Atlantic jumped on the innocents-swept-up angle, publishing a piece that claimed, “The Trump administration acknowledged in a court filing Monday that it had grabbed a Maryland father with protected legal status and mistakenly deported him to El Salvador.”

Here’s how The Atlantic described the man:

Court filings show Abrego Garcia came to the United States at age 16 in 2011 after fleeing gang threats in his native El Salvador. In 2019 he received a form of protected legal status known as “withholding of removal” from a U.S. immigration judge who found he would likely be targeted by gangs if deported back.

Abrego Garcia, who is married to a U.S. citizen and has a 5-year-old disabled child who is also a U.S. citizen, has no criminal record in the United States, according to his attorney. The Trump administration does not claim he has a criminal record, but called him a “danger to the community” and an active member of MS-13, the Salvadoran gang that Trump has declared a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr joked recently that “[m]ore Americans trust gas station sushi than the legacy national media.” That statement, sad but true (or perhaps not so sad), is indicative of the new Trump chair’s approach to his job: to call out the powerhouse institutions that have long gotten a free pass on their relentless bias, illegal DEI practices, and general disservice to the American people. The chairman has had enough, and the left is losing its collective mind as a result.

The current iteration of that fight is prompted by a complaint filed by my organization, the Center for American Rights, against CBS for its misleading editing of then-Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview with 60 Minutes. The chairman has taken those charges seriously (as he should) and held a public comment period that ended this week. Numerous everyday Americans spoke up, critical of CBS’s electioneering, while left-wing senators and media groups are outraged at the supposed assault on the First Amendment.

Typical is Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., who has opened an “Inquiry into FCC’s Political Targeting of Newsrooms” from his post as ranking member of the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. In his release announcing the probe, Blumenthal lambasts the FCC for its “unprecedented, intrusive investigations against media broadcasters under arbitrary and capricious pretenses.” The senator is concerned that these “vexatious investigation[s]” by the FCC “may be designed to intimidate newsrooms,” so he’s apparently decided to launch his own investigation to intimidate the chairman into dropping the commission’s investigations.

MSNBC, NBC Double Down on DEI and Quotas as Trump Administration Pledges To Stamp Out ‘Discriminatory’ Behavior in the Media Business– freebeacon.com

When FCC chairman Brendan Carr announced last week that the Trump administration will block the business deals of media conglomerates that engage in discriminatory DEI practices, some employees at the liberal network MSNBC took notice.

“MSNBC could be in the administration’s crosshairs as well. The network is in the process of being spun off from its parent company,” MSNBC columnist Ja’Han Jones wrote after Carr’s statement that he would block media mergers and acquisitions involving firms that promote what he calls “discriminatory” DEI practices.

Jones was referring to SpinCo, the temporary name that Comcast has given the holding company for its planned spinoff of MSNBC, CNBC, and all but one of its other cable channels, which it’s jettisoning due to the terminally ill—yet still enormously profitable—cable TV business dragging down its share price.

The concern at Comcast and its subsidiary NBCUniversal is perhaps due to the media giant’s unusually aggressive promotion in recent years of DEI and social justice initiatives, as well as racial and gender quotas, which executives have said they hope will “change the face” of the media industry and induce “demographic change,” specifically at NBCUniversal.

Homan Chimes in After Rochester Leaders Reprimand Local Cops for Assisting Federal Agents– townhall.com

A New York police union blasted Rochester leaders for their reaction to local cops responding to a request for assistance from Border Patrol agents.

The call came after federal agents pulled over a van with about eight people inside. Rochester police officers responded with lights and sirens, ordered the suspects to get out of the van, and helped handcuff them, according to local reports.

But those actions violated Rochester’s sanctuary city policies, Democrat Mayor Malik Evans Evans said.

“Our policy is crystal clear,” he noted. “City police officers do not help or participate in federal immigration activities. Every RPD officer — I’ve instructed the chief — every officer receives more training on general orders to make sure all members are fully aware and fully understand this policy.”

Police chief David Smith said he watched the body cam video and was concerned by the assistance federal agents received from local law enforcement officers.

“We are not to be handcuffing subjects,” Smith said. “We are not to be doing pat frisks on subjects, and we are absolutely not going to be detaining them or putting them into our cars.”

A Democratic county official south of Chicago is gaining national attention after allegedly hitting a child with her car and fleeing the scene.

Jackie Traynere, a member of the Will County Board, was only reprimanded with a ticket after failing to yield on a right of way and striking a child using the crosswalk. According to multiple witnesses, Taynere’s car impacted the child as he rode a bicycle from a sidewalk near Lily Cache and Lindsey lanes and entered the crosswalk while the southbound traffic was stopped.

The incident occurred earlier this month and only came to light after WGN9 filed a Freedom of Information Act request upon receiving a tip. In response, the station received body camera footage from police officers responding to the scene.

Officers spoke with the child, who said he saw the crosswalk sign illuminated, indicating that he thought it would be safe to cross. As he entered the crosswalk, a blue car driven by Traynere made an illegal turn and struck him, the report states.
