Resurrecting longstanding complaints about how U.S. elections are run, President Donald Trump this week reiterated that he wants faster election results, but doesn’t want voting machines.
In Aug. 18 remarks at the White House, Trump said that a forthcoming executive order will “end mail-in ballots” and change voting machines.
Trump continued, “The machines, I mean, they say we’re going to have the results in two weeks. With paper ballots, you have the results that night.”
Immigration enforcement authorities rescued 27 human-trafficking victims in Nebraska last week. Among the victims Immigration and Customs Enforcement rescued were 10 children under the age of 12, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
“Our brave ICE law enforcement rescued these children and women, who were being sexually exploited and trafficked,” said Tricia McLaughlin, assistant DHS secretary.
The human-trafficking ring was being run by illegal aliens, according to the DHS.

John McCain and Gold Star families.

President Donald Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska in a historic attempt to end the more than two-year war between Ukraine and Russia. A commercial tractor-trailer driven by an illegal alien was heading northbound in the right lane of the turnpike as a Chrysler Town & Country minivan was traveling north in the Turnpike’s left lane, Fox-13 reported.
From the right lane, the semi-truck attempted to make a U-turn at an “official use only” turn-around area, crossing directly in front of vehicles in the left lane.
Former NBC/MSNBC political director Chuck Todd sounded a lot like CNN’s Jake Tapper on Tuesday’s edition of The Arena on CNN. In a poor attempt to deflect attention away from Democratic Party gerrymandering in states like California and Illinois, by falsely suggesting that Republican-controlled Florida was the “worst” state when it came to redistricting practices. He also argued that the way to solve a lot of those issues was to actively gerrymander.
What caused Todd to snap at his home state of Florida was CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings calling out far-left states like California and Illinois for their wildly gerrymandered districts. “I mean, when I look at the states like Illinois and New York and even California with the supposed independent commission where Republicans get 40 percent of the vote and only have 17 percent of the seats,” he proclaimed.

On Aug. 1, The Denver Post exposed the names, locations, voter registrations, and employment of three private citizens who legally obtained public information and sent some to the popular social media account Do Better Denver. On Aug. 7, a Denver Post columnist defended the paper’s decision to dox the three women for sharing public information.
“People who claim to be citizen journalists must stand by their work with a byline and endure the negative comments and threats that come with the job,” wrote Denver Post columnist Krista Kafer.
The Post identified the three people it doxxed by doing a public records request for those women’s public records requests: “The Post filed open records requests to obtain copies of requests tied to DoBetterDNVR,” wrote The Post’s crime reporter Shelly Bradbury in her Aug. 1 article. On Aug. 5, the Denver Gazette confirmed the three doxxed women are not the account administrator. The public records they shared with the accountholder comprise less than 1 percent of Do Better Denver posts.
The story served both as news and, for Mandavilli, a way to again smear those who opposed the bureaucratic authoritarianism (mandatory masking and vaccines, shuttered small businesses, theatres, and schools) of the COVID era. She quickly took the conservative “disinformation” angle.
The day after a lone gunman opened fire on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, killing a police officer and shattering windows across the agency’s campus, employees were reeling from shock, fear and rage.

One of my maxims in covering politics and the press is that whenever you see changes in the language, that is where you can spot a problem in the messaging. The need to alter terminology and definition is done to control the narrative, so when you see these alterations, you know some trouble in the delivery took place. Local leaders in Cincinnati are calling for white victims of a brutal downtown mob attack to face charges.
However, the city’s police union says the move is politically motivated and undermines the integrity of the investigation.
The July 26 assault at the corner of Fourth and Elm Streets left six people injured and sparked national outrage after video of the beating went viral.
All seven individuals arrested in the attack are African American.
Despite prosecutors identifying the white individuals targeted in the incident as victims, Democrat Ohio state Rep. Cecil Thomas and other city officials are demanding additional arrests.

“Social Security has been getting a lot of attention lately — and not the good kind. The Social Security Administration was already at its smallest size in 50 years, when earlier this year, Elon Musk`s DOGE team cut another 14 percent of its employees — 7,000 people,” Pogue lamented.
After the Supreme Court signaled on Oct. 1 that it would seek to probe whether or not states violate the Constitution when they attempt to remedy violations of the Voting Rights Act by adding an additional majority-minority district to make sure that Black voters and voters of color have an equal chance to elect the candidate of their choice, election law experts began to sound the alarm regarding what the Supreme Court could do to bring about the end of the Voting Rights Act.
As one expert, Rick Hasen, of the UCLA School of Law, wrote in his blog, he believes that the Supreme Court is taking “a big, and dangerous, step toward knocking down” a key component of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
According to CNN, the case, which will test whether or not the State of Louisiana’s “intentional creation of a second majority-minority congressional district violates the Fourteenth or Fifteenth Amendments to the U. S. Constitution,” is regarded as one of the most important appeals the court will issue rulings on over the back half of the judiciary calendar.
The case has been decided differently by two federal courts; one ruled that the state violated the Constitution by drawing only one majority-Black district out of the six that currently comprise the state. When it tried to remedy that problem by drawing another majority-Black district, another federal court said that it violated the Constitution by relying too much on race to meet that court’s demands, which seems to directly contradict language in Section 2 of the VRA.
President Trump’s growing use of military force in immigration enforcement is a dangerous erosion of the line between civilian and military authority—one that threatens the constitutional balance and civil liberties at the heart of American democracy.
The memo urges senior Pentagon leaders to deepen cooperation with DHS on immigration operations—not just at the southern border, but in cities like Los Angeles. It calls for military personnel to be detailed inside Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection to support planning and operational logistics. It praises recent military-style raids in Los Angeles as a model for future deployments and likens threats from Central and South American street gangs to those posed by Al Qaeda or ISIS.
The document reveals a July 21 meeting between top DHS and Department of Defense officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine, and NORTHCOM Commander Gregory Guillot. The aim of the meeting was to secure high-level buy-in from Pentagon leadership to increase the role of the military in domestic immigration enforcement.
