A significant driver is its joint venture with Blue Owl Capital to build a massive data center in Louisiana, a project whose expected investment recently ballooned from $27 billion to over $50 billion.

Oracle: The company’s hidden debt has surged more than 30-fold in four years, reaching $273.3 billion. Much of this is tied to concentrated, single-counterparty exposure, such as its massive “Stargate” supercomputer data center project with OpenAI.

Meanwhile, Alphabet, Amazon, and Microsoft have collectively disclosed backlogs of roughly $1.45 trillion for cloud services and related business commitments as of March, according to the report.

The organization said the reports come after Parliament passed Bill C-9, the Combatting Hate Act, which expands Canada’s hate speech laws by creating new offences, increasing penalties, and removing certain legal safeguards that previously limited prosecutions for hate-related expression. The group said Canadians who are contacted by government officials over online posts should consider recording the interaction.

The United Nations human rights chief has condemned Nicaragua’s escalating crackdown on civil and political rights, days after President Daniel Ortega announced a plan to block elections and shut out the opposition.

Nearly 300,000 North Carolina college-goers have defaulted on their federal student loans, collectively owing $7.8 billion, data analyzed by the Associated Press shows.

Since then, federal policies on student loans have changed and some repayment options are gone or about to go away. The Hawaiian Supreme Court has issued a recent ruling that spent tens of pages excoriating the Supreme Court of the United States. The majority held the Supreme Court was no longer valid because it overturned Roe, the 1973 ruling that decriminalized murdering unborn children.
