Washington — NPR on Tuesday sued President Trump and administration officials over an executive order signed earlier this month that seeks to cut federal funding to the news organization and PBS.

Filed in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., the suit was brought by NPR and three Colorado-based public radio stations. It argues that Mr. Trump’s executive order violates the First Amendment and provisions of the Public Broadcasting Act, which was passed by Congress in 1967. The plaintiffs also assert that Mr. Trump did not have the authority to stop federal funding for NPR and PBS, and his order should be invalidated as unconstitutional.

The order, NPR and the three stations said in their complaint, is “textbook retaliation” and discriminates based on viewpoint, which is a violation of the First Amendment.

We all knew the “now it can be told” books about Joe Biden’s OBVIOUS cognitive decline since before he ran for president were going to be maddening. Seeing journalismers go from the Biden cover-up being right-wing fan fiction to bigger than Watergate still makes you want to flip tables… and now we get the predictable pivot to making it about being anti-Trump and what HE might be covering up.

Let’s start with the Watergate comparison, which, for the sake of argument, was President Richard Nixon’s scandal being the mastermind behind a break-in at Democrat HQ (I know that you know that I know that you know). As it turns out, according to Jake Tapper, not knowing who was running the country for four years mayhaps be a bigger scandal.

This is an entirely separate scandal. Maybe even worse … maybe even worse than Watergate in some ways because Richard Nixon was in control of his faculties.

The far left is “cultivating” a “culture of violence,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily, discussing what she believes the punishment should be for Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who has been charged with assaulting law enforcement outside of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility.

Mace, relaying what happened, said multiple Democrat members of Congress, including McIver, “tried to storm into this ICE facility where they detain and hold illegal aliens who are rapists, who are murderers, who are child molesters to break them out of jail, I guess.”

“And she ended up shoving an ICE agent and other federal agents, physically assaulting them, to barge or break into this ICE detention facility,” she said. “Now, I got to tell you, we’ve had members of Congress that show up to facilities. We had Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz show up to review J6 folks who were in prison at one point, but they were peaceful, they were professional. They followed congressional protocol within their capacity. That’s not what this was.”

On Thursday at 6:54 a.m., the U.S. House passed the Trump and Republican-backed One Big Beautiful Bill Act. (Yup, that is this 1,118-page measure’s official title.) By a snare-drum-tight, 215-214 vote, all but three Republicans and zero Democrats chose to give Americans $4.1 trillion in tax relief, along with their bacon, eggs, tea, and toast.

President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (both Louisiana Republicans) were the chefs who moved this elaborate meal from kitchen to table. It has plenty to nourish this economy:

•The One Big, Beautiful Bill makes permanent the rates in the Trump/GOP Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Every House Democrat voted to let these lower rates lapse on January 1 and slap average taxpayers with a 22% tax hike.

•As promised: No taxes on tips or overtime, plus tax leniency for seniors.

A $93 billion series of “loans” by the Biden administration and uncovered by the Department of Government Efficiency proves that the former president’s administration “laundered” money to its political allies, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said in announcing the findings.

Between the Nov. 2024 election and President Donald Trump’s swearing in on Jan. 20, 2025, the Biden administration doled out $93 billion to businesses with specious credentials through the Loan Program Office of the Department of Energy.

Kennedy outlined the exhaustive list of transactions at a May 23 hearing of the Senate Appropriations Committee where U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright confirmed that “between the time that President Trump was elected and President Biden left office,” $76 billion of taxpayer dollars “went out the door” at DOE.

For the first time in its 29-year polling history, Rasmussen shows that 50 percent of the country believes America is on the right track, compared to 45 percent who say we are on the wrong track.

“Holy crap – it happened!” Rasmussen’s Mark Mitchell announced on X, adding: “For the first time in our polling history, A MAJORITY says the country is on the right track.”

He added, “Don’t F it up, Republicans.”

Rasmussen first began tracking the right track-wrong track number almost 20 years ago, in 2006.

Rasmussen reported the specific numbers on X. As you can see, this is not a one-night aberration. Rather, it’s a tracking poll that averages the last five days:

The previous “right track” record high was 48 percent.

Despite relentless attacks from the left, President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have progressively increased, marking a stunning turnaround from last month’s lows.

Since beginning his second term in office, Trump’s disapproval rating peaked at 52.4% in late April, according to RealClearPolitics. The drop in support came just weeks after Trump rolled out 10% baseline tariffs as part of his Liberation Day declaration on April 2.

‘His rising ratings are directly the result of his easing of concerns about his tariffs.’

Trump’s critics slammed his tariff announcement, further fueling concerns about economic uncertainty that appeared to reflect in the polls, which showed a 45.3% approval rating on April 28.

… Colleges and universities will likely face an increase in taxes on their endowments after Republicans’ “Big, Beautiful Bill” passed the House and is now headed to the Senate.

While some reports indicate administrators have hired lobbyists to try and water down the proposal, observers say some sort of tax hike is likely in the offing for these institutions.

Rather than a flat rate, House Republicans seek to increase taxes on private university endowments ranging from 1.4 percent to 21 percent, according to the legislation.

The law would hold “woke, elite universities that operate more like major corporations … accountable, ensuring they can no longer abuse generous benefits provided through the tax code,” states a report from Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee.
