Police issue warning over ‘extremely dangerous’ sewers as men emerge from manholes (Image: NC)

Police in New York have issued an urgent warning after mystery men were spotted climbing in and out of sewers through manholes, prompting fears that copycats could put themselves at serious risk. Officials say there have been at least three known incidents involving people entering the city’s vast underground sewer network since early May.

While no injuries have been reported, authorities described the activity as both illegal and “extremely dangerous”, warning that those venturing underground could face deadly hazards. A spokesperson for New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection said sewers contain numerous risks, including toxic gases, unstable surfaces, flooding and confined spaces.

An 18-year-old British boy was walking home from a pub in December when he was brutally stabbed by a Sikh man. Henry Nowak was mortally wounded, but what happened in the moments before he would ultimately succumb to his injuries is even more appalling. Police pinned Nowak down and began to handcuff him as he cried out for help all because his attacker accused him of racism.

Video footage from Nowak’s phone on December 3, 2025 shows him saying “Hello car” as he walks, before singing to himself. Eventually, Vickrum Digwa is seen in the video walking away from Nowak, with Nowak heard saying “Innit bad man, what bad man. You’re a bad man, say you’re a bad man, go on.” Notably, prosecutors said Digwa was wearing his knife “openly displayed over his clothing.”

Digwa replied “I am a bad man.” Digwa would then go on to stab Nowak five times, delivering a fatal chest wound.

On Monday, SpaceX amended its initial public offering to state that water conditions—including water scarcity, regulations around water, and drought—could constrain data center development.

It isn’t the only tech company trying to assess how water scarcity might impact its business. Water use is emerging as one of the most contentious data center issues. A recent Gallup poll found that seven out of 10 Americans are opposed to data center development, with water scarcity ranking as the top resource concern. Facing increasingly fierce resistance, some tech companies are scrambling to assure the public that they’re facing the issue head-on.

This of course was the hoax about the purported discovery of “mass graves” of indigenous children at what was once a government boarding school run by the Catholic Church. In late May 2021, the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation claimed that ground-penetrating radar had revealed hundreds of graves near the site of a former school in Kamloops, British Columbia. Tribal leaders cited the radar survey as proof that scores of indigenous Canadian children had been buried in unmarked mass graves at the school.

WASHINGTON — The world is getting more uptight about lending money to President Donald Trump’s government — causing interest rates to climb in ways that are worsening affordability pressures, hampering economic growth and creating a new risk for Republicans in November’s midterm elections.

The energy price spike triggered by the Iran war has seeped into the price of bonds that help fund the U.S. government. Interest rates on a 10-year U.S. Treasury note are topping 4.44%, up from 3.95% before the war started at the end of February. Average mortgage rates have climbed to their highest levels in nine months, while auto sales are slumping.
