Elon Musk has announced plans to insert another Neuralink implant into another patient. He also announced he intends on Neuralink to eventually give humans “superpowers.” Musk hopes to make AI a friend and not a threat to humanity, promising to develop “a closer symbiosis between human intelligence and digital intelligence.”

Imagine being able to manipulate much of the automated world around you with your mind alone. Imagine having perfect memory recall and the capacity to hold more facts in your mind within a single thought. These are just some of the things the hyperbolic PT Barnum of our day is promising in his push to gain traction with Neuralink.

Neuralink plans to implant its device into a second human patient in about a week, according to the company’s founder, Elon Musk. During a broadcast on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk shared that the company aims to have ‘high single digits’ of patients with the device by the end of the year. He and several Neuralink executives discussed the brain chip’s capabilities and future potential, such as treating paralysis and memory loss. They also addressed improvements for future surgeries to prevent issues encountered during the first implantation on Arizona man Noland Arbaugh. Musk emphasised that the long-term goal is to reduce the civilisational risk posed by AI by fostering “a closer symbiosis between human intelligence and digital intelligence.”

Elon Musk stated that the goal is “to give people superpowers,” as he announced that Neuralink will implement changes to address the issue of its electrode threads retracting from brain tissue in upcoming surgeries. To mitigate this problem, the proposed fixes include removing an air pocket that may have caused the threads to retract in the first surgery. Additionally, the company plans to insert the threads more accurately on the folds of the brain in future procedures, he explained.

Merrick Garland’s Justice Department announced the successful taking down of a Russian AI Bot farm on Elon Musk’s X Platform, claiming the intention was to spread misinformation about the Ukraine War intended to create support for the Russian nation.

The statement from the Justice Department read, “The social media bot farm used elements of AI to create fictitious social media profiles — often purporting to belong to individuals in the United States — which the operators then used to promote messages in support of Russian government objectives.” This report follows claims from a U.S. intelligence official that Russia wants Trump to win.

The Russia election meddling narrative was something we all saw coming back in January 6, 2021, so don’t call me psychic for predicting it back then. The early deployment of the election meddling narrative does suggest, to this writer, that possibly the elites may have determined the level of cheat it would take to overcome what their internal reality is telling them might put their operations at too high a risk,

Therefore, they may be falling back on “winning” the House to keep the legal pressure on Trump, as well as to impede his legislative efforts, and bank on consolidating power once and for all in 2028. Most likely, not everyone would be onboard with this strategy, so it’s reasonable to assume to effort to remove Biden and find a “viable” candidate that can finish off America now will only be increasing. The recent exposure video of ABC Interviewer George Stephanopoulos “confessing” he doesn’t see Biden finishing another four-year term testifies to that possibility.

The United States has disrupted a Russian disinformation campaign involving AI-powered bots used to create fake profiles on the social media platform X, the Justice Department said Tuesday.

Officials seized two internet domains and searched 968 social media accounts that Russian operatives allegedly used to create an artificial intelligence “bot farm” and peddle disinformation in the United States and other countries, the department said in a statement.

“The social media bot farm used elements of AI to create fictitious social media profiles — often purporting to belong to individuals in the United States — which the operators then used to promote messages in support of Russian government objectives,” the statement said.

The U.S. actions “represent a first in disrupting a Russian-sponsored Generative AI-enhanced social media bot farm,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The campaign — aimed at sowing “discord in the United States and elsewhere” — was developed by a senior editor of RT, a Russian state-owned media outlet, financed by the Kremlin and aided by an officer of Russia’s FSB security service, the Justice Department said.

A team of astronomers has made an exciting discovery about the temperate exoplanet LHS 1140 b: it could be a promising “super-Earth” covered in ice or water.

LHS 1140 b, once thought to be a mini-Neptune, is now considered a possible super-Earth with a nitrogen-rich atmosphere, as suggested by James Webb Space Telescope data. Located in a habitable zone, it may have conditions favorable for liquid water, making it a key focus for future astrobiological studies.

When it was first discovered, astronomers speculated that the exoplanet LHS 1140 b might be a mini-Neptune. This means it would be an essentially gaseous planet, but very small in size compared to Neptune. However, after analyzing data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) collected in December 2023 — combined with previous data from other space telescopes such as Spitzer, Hubble, and TESS — scientists have come to a very different conclusion.

Located about 48 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cetus, LHS 1140 b appears to be one of the most promising exoplanets in its star’s habitable zone, potentially harboring an atmosphere and even an ocean of liquid water. The results of this discovery by Université de Montréal astronomers are available on ArXiv and will soon be published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Researchers at University of California San Diego have found that the most common form of liver cancer — one with a high mortality rate — can be better targeted and treated using an innovative new stem cell-derived therapy, according to a recently published study in Cell Stem Cell.

The treatment, not yet studied in patients, involves the lab engineering of natural killer (NK) cells — white blood cells that destroy tumor cells — to more effectively battle hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), one of the most treatment-resistant types of solid tumor.

Genetically modified NK-cell therapy doesn’t require personalization like chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-expressing T-cell therapy — a relatively new, personalized form of immunotherapy. That means an NK-cell therapy could be mass produced and shelf-ready for patients, who could begin therapy without delay, their new research shows.

It looks like Japan’s preparation for a potential war with China is going to include high-tech destroyers equipped with railguns and lasers. The destroyers are being developed by Japan’s Ministry of Defense’s Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency. They are receiving some technical assistance from Germany, France, and the U.S.

Japan’s military development in the last 10 years has been decidedly ramped up from previous decades where their non-aggression constitution prevented them from expanding as they have of late. It is in the best interests of those that wish to keep China in check to aid in the continuation of that increasingly militaristic trend.

Any hope of a one-superpower-reality with China on top is sure to be checked not just by the U.S., but by Japan as well, a growing power militarily that by herself might soon have the capacity to meet any expansionist threat from China.

Summary and Key Points: Japan is progressing towards equipping its future 13DDX destroyers with advanced electromagnetic (EM) railguns and high-powered lasers.

-Developed by Japan’s Ministry of Defense’s Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA), these destroyers aim to counter high-speed threats, including hypersonic missiles.

-Japan has been developing railgun technology since 2015, achieving a projectile speed of 4,470 mph in a 2016 demonstration.

-Collaborating with French and German authorities and seeking insights from the U.S. Navy, Tokyo aims to overcome the energy challenges associated with railguns, potentially succeeding where other nations have faltered.

Japan’s 13DDX Destroyers: Pioneering Railgun Technology for Future Warfare

It is no secret that Japan produces gizmos and gadgets on a scale not seen in the West. While its consumer products, from robot dogs to micro washing machines, may stand out to those who visit the Asian nation, military analysts are now watching another technology that Tokyo has gone all in on—namely, railguns, which could be employed on the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s (JMSDF) new class of destroyers.

International military analyst firm Janes reported that the JMSDF has begun to determine if it could acquire a new class of warships—the 13DDX future destroyer—that would be equipped with “electromagnetic (EM) railguns and high-powered lasers.”

The 13DDX was reportedly developed by Japan’s Ministry of Defense’s (MoD) Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA), and in addition to being armed with railguns and lasers, the future destroyers could be further equipped with other types of directed energy weapons (DEW) systems, which could be coupled with a multifunction radar platform. The system could be optimized to counter high-speed targets—and while not explicitly stated that could likely include hypersonic weapons.

Railguns: Big in Japan

As previously reported, Tokyo has been engaged in developing a railgun since 2015, with the aim of being able to stop incoming missiles—including the aforementioned hypersonic missiles—that could be fired at the island nation. The goal of the program has been to mount such a weapon on a warship to add greater flexibility to the system, and a 2016 demonstration of a railgun had a projectile reach a speed of approximately 4,470 mph, or 5.8 times the speed of sound.

On paper, the system offers great promise, but railguns have numerous hurdles to clear, particularly the energy required for the weapon to operate as advertised. The basic technology already exists, which includes a very large power source, a pair of parallel rails, and a moving armature. The concept itself is rather simple, but the basic problem has been one of obtaining enough power to actually launch a projectile in a controlled and reliable manner.

A railgun could require millions of amps to create a magnetic field required to launch the projectile.

Tokyo has already realized it probably can’t go it alone, and in May, the ATLA announced it had struck an agreement with French and German authorities to co-develop the technology that could lead to the successful employment of the platform. The French Ministry of Armed Forces, the German Ministry of Defense, and the French-German Research Institute of Saint-Louis (ISL) are among the entities that could work with ATLA on the future development of railguns.

Tokyo Looking to Washington

It was also in May that ATLA announced it had sent officials to Washington to glean additional insight from the United States Navy, which has also worked toward the development of a railgun.

The U.S. Navy invested upward of $500 million into its electromagnetic railgun (EMRG) program, which had a goal to develop a weapon that was capable of firing projectiles at hypersonic speeds of 4,500mph or more. Because of the high speed, mass, and kinetic energy, the projectile wouldn’t even need to contain explosives to inflict damage. However, after hundreds of millions of dollars were invested over a decade, the sea service effectively scuttled its efforts to develop the technology in 2021.

Perhaps the JMSDF will succeed where the U.S. Navy has failed.

Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced plans to develop the “Nigerium,” a digital currency that is designed to give the Nigerian nation a back-up currency not so affected by the world currency market. The announcement was made by the NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.

The prospect of nation-states developing digital currencies insulated from the volatility of world currencies is a two-edged sword to this writer. On one hand, digital currency gives small-scale communities a chance to create viable value-exchanges protected from the tyranny of large-scale powers.

On the other hand, government control of a digital currency means total government control over citizens’ lives, who must rely on their good standing with government to have access to exchanging value with others, has obvious risks. If the government allows small-scale communities the power to create their own independent digital currencies, then the threat is blunted.

National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) will develop the ‘Nigerium’ indigenous blockchain to safeguard national security, according to Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director-General, NITDA.

Abdullahi stated this when he welcomed a delegation from the University of Hertfordshire Law School, in Abuja, adding that that the ultimate goal is to unite the public and private sectors to develop a domestic blockchain.

The people from University of Hertfordshire Law School said that an indigenous blockchain would ensure that Nigerian data and personal information remain under local control, rather than being managed by international co-developers who may not prioritize Nigeria’s interests.

Moreover, they added that reliance on established blockchain platforms such as Ethereum places Nigeria at the discretion of international developers who do not operate under Nigerian law.

In a ruling that made it clear to Americans that the problem of insurrection isn’t just a Democrat one, it’s also a Republican one, 6 Supreme Court Justices from both the left and the right gave the Biden administration the green light to continue to pressure private companies to silence their dissenters.

The court ruled that Americans don’t have standing to challenge the unconstitutional action, playing a semantic word game arguing this is not an affirmation of the action’s constitutionality but merely a rejection of the people bringing suit to bring suit in the first place. The ruling exposes the Uniparty level of corruption Americans face in their battle to restore the republic from foreign enemies, especially those from within our own nation, Democrats and Republicans siding with totalitarianism.

Amy Comey Barrett revealed she is either compromised or an insurrectionist plant all along, giving the majority opinion in words that defy fact and logic. She claimed, “Putting these requirements together, the plaintiffs must show a substantial risk that, in the near future, at least one platform will restrict the speech of at least one plaintiff in response to the actions of at least one Government defendant. Here, at the preliminary injunction stage, they must show that they are likely to succeed in carrying that burden. On the record in this case, that is a tall order.”

One “proof” that man-made climate change is real and is posing an existential threat to the world is the increase in climate disasters, but their research shows climate disasters are DECREASING, not increasing.

The researchers claim, “We conclude that the patterns observed are largely attributable to progressively better reporting of natural disaster events. The above result sits in marked contradiction to earlier analyses by two UN bodies (FAO and UNDRR), which predicts an increasing number of natural disasters and impacts in concert with global warming. Our analyses strongly refute this assertion as well as extrapolations published by UNDRR based on this claim.”

A top study has confirmed that fearmongering claims made by the United Nations (UN) to support the “climate crisis” narrative are a hoax, directly contradicted by data.

Despite claims from the UN and other unelected globalists, the study has found that alleged “climate disasters” are not increasing.

In fact, eminent Italian researchers Gianluca Alimonti and Luigi Mariani found that the environment has been significantly improving in recent years, with climate-related events decreasing.

However, the researchers found that, while “climate disasters” have been decreasing, fearmongering studies and corporate media reports linking “global warming” to weather events have increased dramatically, creating the illusion of a “crisis.”

According to the Pentagon, the Chinese navy has surpassed the US navy in terms of the number of battle force ships over the past decade, thanks to China’s status as the world’s top ship-producing nation by tonnage.

A US Congressional Research Service report released in October of last year predicted the PLA would have 440 ships by 2030 while the US will have 290.

Senior US Air Force officials have also noted the PLA’s potential to become the world’s biggest air force. It now has over 3,150 non-trainer and non-drone aircraft, compared with about 4,000 for the American military.

While China continues to catch up on air and sea capabilities, “both sides have essentially come to a balance of power in military presence in the West Pacific”, said Hu Bo, director of Beijing-based think tank South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative.

President Joe Biden had the perfect answer for why former President Donald Trump is “ranting on Truth Social at 3 in the morning,” saying Trump has a “guilty conscience” in a video showing him answering questions that “Trump can’t.”

Biden’s words came weeks after Trump became the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes. A New York jury last month found him guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels to corruptly influence the 2016 election. His sentencing is set for July 11.

In a clever campaign video dropped on Wednesday, Biden was asked a series of this or that questions, which are no-brainers for Biden but would be tough calls for Trump.

Earth’s inner core ‘unambiguously’ slowing down, could change day’s length, study finds

NEW DELHI: A new study has provided “unambiguous evidence” that the Earth’s inner core began to slow down its rotation in 2010, compared to the planet’s surface. Researchers said that the slowing down could change the length of one day on the Earth by fractions of a second.
The Earth’s inner core, a solid sphere made of iron and nickel, is suspended within the liquid outer core (made of molten metals) and anchored in its place by gravity.Together, the inner and the outer core, form one of the planet’s three layers the other two being mantle and crust.
Being physically inaccessible, researchers usually study the core by analysing the recordings of waves sent out by earthquakes — seismograms.
“When I first saw the seismograms that hinted at this change, I was stumped,” said John Vidale, a professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Southern California, US.
“But when we found two dozen more observations signalling the same pattern, the result was inescapable. The inner core had slowed down for the first time in many decades,” said Vidale, also the corresponding author of the study published in the journal Nature.
The slowing down of the inner core is hotly debated in the scientific community, with some studies even suggesting that it rotates faster than the Earth’s surface.

Hunter Biden is agreeing to drop a civil lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani and Giuliani’s former lawyer Robert Costello, according to a court filing Thursday.

The president’s son last year formally accused Giuliani and Costello of violating computer fraud and data access laws, alleging they manipulated data from his “devices or storage platforms.”

Attorneys for all three parties filed the agreement, which stipulates that Biden agrees to drop the lawsuit and that each man will pay his own legal fees.

The lawsuit initially sought more than $75,000 in damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and other penalties.

“As Giuliani is in bankruptcy and agreed to have the case waiting for when he is done, it made no sense to continue it in a non-bankruptcy court until that happens,” a person familiar with the filing told NBC News on Thursday.

A Canadian national who lives in China pleaded guilty on Thursday to conspiring to sell secrets he stole from Tesla to market battery assembly technology vital to electric vehicles, authorities say. He was caught in a sting operation after undercover agents posed as Long Island businesspeople looking to buy an assembly line at a trade show in Las Vegas.

Klaus Pflugbeil, 58, is now facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and he’ll be sentenced in October. His co-defendant, Yilong Shao, is still at large. Prosecutors said Pflugbeil and Shao were employees of a Canada-based manufacturing company that made and sold battery assembly lines for clients that needed alkaline and lithium-ion batteries. The Canada manufacturing firm was purchased by a company—identified in reports as Tesla—which gave the Elon Musk-led electric vehicle maker a leg up in continuous motion battery manufacturing.

“Despite Pflugbeil’s agreement to protect what he knew was proprietary, sensitive technology, he chose to abscond with these trade secrets to China, where he sought an unfair and illegal advantage in critical industries such as electric vehicle manufacturing,” assistant attorney general Matthew Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division said in a statement. The conduct jeopardized national security, said Olsen.

DETROIT (AP) — Just before 2 a.m. on a chilly April night in Seattle, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup stopped at an electric vehicle charging station on the edge of a shopping center parking lot.

Two men, one with a light strapped to his head, got out. A security camera recorded them pulling out bolt cutters. One man snipped several charging cables; the other loaded them into the truck. In under 2½ minutes, they were gone.

The scene that night has become part of a troubling pattern across the country: Thieves have been targeting EV charging stations, intent on stealing the cables, which contain copper wiring. The price of copper is near a record high on global markets, which means criminals stand to collect rising sums of cash from selling the material.

Global production of lithium – an essential mineral for manufacturing the lithium-ion batteries that are found in everything from smartphones to electric cars – has tripled over the last 10 years, however current extraction techniques are slow and energy intensive.

These methods also require the lithium to be highly concentrated in the rock ore, meaning only a few countries have deposits worth mining.

A team of researchers from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) have now come up with a way to extract lithium in a manner that they claim can overcome all of these issues.

The new method is so effective that it can extract lithium from sources that have been previously impossible on a commercial scale, such as seawater and groundwater.

“Right now there is a gap between the demand for lithium and the production,” said Chong Liu, an assistant professor at the University of Chicago PME.

MIT researchers have claimed to develop a new type of concrete that can be used for energy storage, meaning your home could be a battery allowing you to store backup energy in times of blackouts and, if you’re relying on alternative energies like wind and solar, during non-optimal energy collection conditions. The current working example is far from the end-goal, but it is already capable of storing 300 watt-hours per cubic meter, enough energy to power a 10-watt LED lightbulb for 30 hours.

Researchers at MIT continue to look for ways to turn concrete into a perfect energy storage option. The researchers first shared their findings in 2023, suggesting that concrete could be used to store electricity. The hope is that the research could somehow allow us to move beyond standard lithium-ion batteries, which will eventually become near impossible to create due to the finite amount of lithium found in the world.

Being able to store energy is a very important part of life. The researchers say they can see a ton of different uses for concrete that can store electricity. For instance, a house that is located off the power grid could use solar panels to collect energy throughout the day. That energy could then be transferred to the concrete foundations of the house and then used by releasing it later in the evening, once the sun had sunk below the horizon.

It’s a bit of an “endless possibilities” kind of thing, and the researchers are well aware of just how much work they have to do to get it to a point where it’s actually useable and scaleable to the point where it becomes a more promising option. But, if they can get it there—if they can find out exactly how to make concrete energy storage an everyday occurrence, then they could create some of the cheapest supercapacitors known to humankind.

Ukraine is preparing to fight Putin – with a robot army.

The beleaguered country is crowdfunding for bots to fight the Russians, who invaded in February 2022.

The first fundraiser towards terrestrial robotic platforms was announced at the recent UNITED24 anniversary summit by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As well as robots to carry supplies and wounded soldiers, there will also be squadrons of kamikaze bots sent to take out enemy troops and vehicles.

UNITED24, Ukraine’s official fundraising platform, says: “Squads of robots will save the lives of our military and civilians. They will become logistics devices, tow trucks, minelayers and deminers, as well as self-destructive robots. They will fight alongside people and for people.

“The first robots are already proving their effectiveness on the battlefield, but there are many more required.”

Scientists out of Clemson University have developed a self-extinguishing electrolyte they think can be the cure for battery fires. With the expected rise in EV sales, the discovery couldn’t come soon enough. The researchers developed their electrolyte off of the same materials found in commercial fire extinguishers. The electrolyte is compatible with the most common battery chemistry, Li-ion, but is also compatible with other major variations as well.

Battery fires are rare, but when they happen, they require enormous amounts of firefighting resources. The problem is caused by the flammable electrolyte, which can generate its own oxygen in a thermal runaway reaction. Scientists at Clemson University think their self-extinguishing electrolyte can make battery fires a thing of the past.

Battery-electric vehicles are our best bet in fighting climate change and reducing pollution in big cities. Modern EVs use lithium-ion batteries, which offer the highest energy density and a relatively long lifecycle. However, most Li-ion battery cells can be dangerous when they overheat, requiring complex thermal management systems. Because they use highly flammable electrolytes, they can burst into flames if the heat is not kept in check. This is called thermal runaway, although, from the outside, it looks more like an explosion or a rocket firing its engines. Because EV batteries are made of thousands of individual cells, the process affects adjacent cells unless it’s stopped. To make matters worse, the blazing cells generate their own oxygen, making the fire very difficult to put out. The reaction continues as long as the temperature is high enough or the electrolyte depletes. This is why firefighters dealing with an EV battery fire focus on cooling the battery pack.

Researchers at Clemson University in South Carolina thought that inventing an electrolyte that doesn’t catch fire is the simplest way to prevent battery fires. One that can put out its own fire is even better. So, instead of a common electrolyte, usually composed of a lithium salt and an organic solvent, they developed one based on materials found in a commercial fire extinguisher.

The revolutionary electrolyte works across a wide temperature range from about minus 100 to 175 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 75 to 80 degrees Celsius). During the nail penetration test, the batteries produced in the lab with this flame-retardant electrolyte extinguished internal fires effectively. Moreover, the electrolyte is compatible with other chemistries besides Li-ion, including potassium-ion, sodium-ion, aluminum-ion, and zinc-ion.

U.S. Army researchers working in collaboration with the University of Chicago have developed a new technology called “living bioelectronics” that blends electronics and living cell tissue to help heal damaged skin.

Dr. Jiuyun Shi, co-author of the study, said of the breakthrough, “This is a bridge from traditional bioelectronics, which incorporates living cells as part of the therapy. We’re very excited because it’s been a decade and a half in the making,”

Scientists have announced the development of “living bioelectronics,” a revolutionary technology that could transform medical diagnostics and treatment.

The innovative approach combines living cells with electronic components to create devices capable of sensing and healing skin. The breakthrough, funded partly by the U.S. Army Research Office and spearheaded by researchers from the University of Chicago, represents a significant leap forward in integrating biology and electronics.

“This is a bridge from traditional bioelectronics, which incorporates living cells as part of the therapy,” Dr. Jiuyun Shi, co-author of the study and a former PhD student in Dr. Bozhi Tian’s lab at the University of Chicago, said in a press release.

The researchers, who published their findings in the journal Science, say they have been working for over a decade to achieve this milestone in living bioelectronics.

Japan’s Self-Defense Forces scrambled F-15 fighter aircraft on Monday to intercept a Chinese Air Force drone making its first appearance near the country’s southwestern islands, its Defense Ministry said.

The Joint Staff Office in Tokyo said Japanese Air Force jets were launched to head off a possible airspace violation by a Wing Loong-10 unmanned aerial vehicle, which had entered Japan‘s air defense identification zone but not its territorial airspace.

A Newsweek map, created using the Joint Staff’s geospatial data, shows the flight path of the military drone, which Japan identified as a reconnaissance and attack aircraft, during a sortie in the East China Sea.

Tokyo said the WL-10 approached from China’s east coast and circled the waters at least twice before returning to the Asian continent.

In what appears to be more of a gesture than a substantive act, the GOP-majority House passed a bill that would effectively end the government’s plans to create a centralized banking digital currency (CBDC). The bill passed 216-192, with only 3 Democrats voting for it while 18 Democrats and 4 Republicans did not register votes.

Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) introduced the legislation, saying of its passage in a press release, “For more than two years, we have worked to educate, grow support, and pass this important legislation, which prevents unelected bureaucrats from issuing a financial surveillance tool to fundamentally undermine our American values. My legislation ensures that the United States’ digital currency policy remains in the hands of the American people so that any development of digital money reflects our values of privacy, individual sovereignty, and free market competitiveness.”
