Pope Francis has approved a three-year extension to the Catholic Church’s reform process, showing his determination to continue leading despite spending a month in hospital battling pneumonia.
The Vatican announced that the 88-year-old pontiff signed off on the decision from Rome’s Gemelli hospital, where he has been receiving treatment since February 14.
“On 11 March, the Holy Father definitively approved the start of a process of accompaniment and evaluation of the implementation phase by the General Secretariat of the Synod,” the Vatican said.

On Monday, citing Donald Trump’s “Defending Women” executive order, the federal Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it would “phase out treatment for gender dysphoria” by discontinuing hormone replacement therapy for patients not already in treatment.

The agency provides health care and benefits for about nine million veterans, tens of thousands of whom—by the VA’s estimate—identify as trans. Its press release says that the agency’s LGBTQ+ veteran care coordinators, who run its LGBTQ Health Program, would not be affected by the changes. But Pete Hegseth, Trump’s secretary of defense, has been vocal about his ire toward the LGBTQ community and his support for cutting VA health care.

Although the VA has never provided gender-affirming surgeries, it has been able to provide letters in support of veterans seeking them. That’s now on the chopping block.

“It’s infuriating,” a medical professional with the agency, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Mother Jones. “To be honest, I don’t understand how it’s allowed—how are they able to tell providers what they can and cannot treat?”

The announcement follows reporting in the Advocate on a Veterans Health Administration memo with similar provisions circulated on March 14, which rescinded the agency’s 2018 directive establishing health care standards for transgender and intersex veterans. In response to subsequent coverage by National Public Radio, VA press secretary Peter Kasperowicz told NPR that there had been no policy change—but by Saturday night, the agency officially published the memo, which showed otherwise.

  • Women seeking abortions at the “clinic” are expected to receive assistance in obtaining illegal abortions – acts that constitute crimes under Polish law (Article 152 § 2 of the Penal Code).
  • The Ordo Iuris Institute has reported the clinic’s creators to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw for potentially committing a crime.
  • The report names Justyna Wydrzyńska, an abortion activist, as one of the suspects. She is currently on trial in the Warsaw-Praga District Court for a similar offense.
  • Ordo Iuris has also submitted a request to the Warsaw Police Department, seeking information on the extent of police protection offered to the illegal facility.

Judge’s Husband Promotes Lawfare Against Homeschoolers– thefederalist.com

For too long education experts have failed Wisconsin students. Too often the political left focuses on advancing a progressive narrative instead of simply teaching the basics. Recently, Wisconsin Gov. (and former education superintendent) Tony Evers proposed replacing mothers with “inseminated persons” in state law. Now, Dane County Judge Susan Crawford is running for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Throughout her career she has proudly advanced progressive causes. So it should come as no surprise that her husband, Shawn F. Peters, wrote a controversial book on homeschooling recommending the removal of parents’ right to homeschool their children in Wisconsin by using novel litigation tactics.

Wisconsin voters deserve to know whether Judge Crawford supports her husband’s extreme views on homeschooling. Should any litigation come before her that advances her husband’s extreme legal claims, will she be able to objectively consider the arguments? According to Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction statistics, “home-based” education continues to grow in popularity. While only 966 students were homeschooled during the 1984-85 academic year (0.10 percent), during the 2023-24 academic year almost 30,000 students (3.04 percent) benefited from a homeschool environment.

Is YouTube discriminating against Christians?

Brendan Carr, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, is raising the alarm about evidence suggesting the tech giant—which has a long history of censorship—has unfairly treated a Christian family TV station.

“[I]n the case of YouTube TV, concerns have been raised alleging that your company has a policy (secret or otherwise) that discriminates against faith-based programming,”?Carr wrote March 7 to Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, and Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube.  (Alphabet owns Google, which owns YouTube.)

Carr says Great American Media, which is helmed by former Hallmark Channel leader Bill Abbott, drew his attention to YouTube TV’s refusal to host the network. Great American Media, which also includes TV star and outspoken Christian Candace Cameron Bure as chief creative officer, focuses on a range of faith-based and family-friendly content.

America’s public high schools are strange places to find displays of the alphabet. Perhaps with plummeting standardized test scores and a substantial increase in English-as-a-second-language students in sanctuary districts, high school educators feel the need to review kindergarten basics. In Fairfax County, Virginia’s West Springfield High School, located just 17 miles from the White House, school administrators and teachers have decorated the history hallway this month with a special, leftist rendition of the alphabet.

The display, titled “The ABCs to ME,” is decorated with the school’s colors: a blue background lined with an orange border. Featured in the display is a sign that reads, “A is for Abortion” with an image of a coat hanger with a positive pregnancy test.

Any story about media coverage of abortion in the United States is ultimately an act of frustration. Name the last time a media representative, particularly in the cable universe, showed a baby delivered at 22 weeks of gestation. Or the last time they noted the recent data that nearly 36% of babies born at 22 weeks will survive and 82% will do so at 25 weeks (reports of even better save rates are emerging). How many media outlets share information and stories about the growing range of conditions that are amenable to treatment and can be cured inside the womb, illustrating the separate personhood and “patienthood” of these little ones? Images and accounts like these should be commonplace today, but on 24-hour-a-day networks like CNN and MSNBC they are nowhere to be seen.

The Argentine suffered a series of breathing crises that sparked worldwide concern for his life, most recently on 3 March.

But after a week of steady improvements, the Holy See said on Monday evening that his prognosis was no longer considered “reserved”, or uncertain.

Today is the day leftists celebrate baby killers.

Today is “Abortion Provider Appreciation Day,” a day the Abortion Care Network claims Americans should celebrate “all of the courageous, compassionate people who provide abortion care.”

The pro-abortion network specifically recommends that supporters celebrate abortionists “through love notes, art, acts of kindness and support, messages of affirmation, a giant love-fest Tweetstorm, and more.”

Established in 1996 this day is framed by its supporters as a celebration of courage and compassion. They laud abortion providers as heroes who ensure “reproductive freedom” and access to what they call healthcare. But from a pro-life perspective, this commemoration is a tragic mischaracterization, one that glosses over the fundamental reality of what abortion entails: the deliberate ending of innocent human lives.

Islamists aligned with Syria’s interim government massacred hundreds of ethnic Alawites after members of that minority attacked security forces loyal to the interim government in the Latakia province. The Assad family, which ruled Syria from 1971-2024 are Alawites, an ethnic minority who make up 12% of Syria’s population. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that at least 745 unarmed Alawite civilians have been killed, along with 150 armed Alawites and 125 members of the newly established Syrian regime.

“Moreover, Josiah put away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord.

Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses, nor did any like him arise after him. Still, the Lord did not turn from the burning of his great wrath, by which his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked him.

And the Lord said, ‘I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city that I have chosen, Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.’” 2 Kings 23:24-27

Our Political & Cultural Correspondent Joshua Bontrager brought it to our attention that there seems to be a rise of what might be called “whore culture” in the “conservative movement,” a casual sex culture that seems out of step with what American conservatism has traditionally been.

Writing for AGENDA Weekly, Joshua reported: On Valentines Day, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair posted on X, “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days, it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.”

St. Clair said, “I am a good mom… My child is the most perfect thing that happened to me. I wouldn’t change anything.”

Musk, who is the father of 12 previous children by three women, has refused to comment on the allegations. But multiple conservatives responded with congratulatory notes, including former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who wrote, “This child has incredible genetics.”

Christian podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey responded, “Babies are ALWAYS a blessing, no matter what. But I am genuinely heartbroken by the purposeful creation of motherless or fatherless children, and it feels weird publicly applauding that.” Stuckey added, “We need more stable families.”

The Blazes Delano Squires lamented, “Stripping marriage from the family formation equation paves the way for commercial surrogacy, unregulated IVF, and same-sex adoption. This shift has consequences… The belief that a man’s bank account can replace his presence in the home ignores a fundamental truth: Fatherhood is about more than money.”

President Donald Trump, the de facto flag bearer of American conservatism, has a history of affairs and broken marriages attested to by fathering five children born to three different women.

In Germany, the AfD, the current standard bearer for German conservatism, is led by Alice Weidel, who happens to be married to a woman herself, living an openly lesbian lifestyle.

Britain’s then-Prime minister Boris Johnson openly lambasted SCOTUS after it overthrew Roe v Wade, telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that he “supports a woman’s right to choose.”

He clarified, “I want to stress that this is not our court, it’s not our jurisdiction. So, in a sense, it’s for the United States, it’s not for the U.K. But the Roe v. Wade judgment, when it came out, was important psychologically for people around the world, and it spoke of the advancement of the rights of women, I think. And I regret what seems to me to be a backward step. But I’m speaking as someone looking in from the outside.”

Edmund Burke, considered by many to be the “father” of conservatism (which emerged as a response to the “liberal” claims that led to the French Revolution), makes it clear what is at the heart of Western conservatism with these two separate quotes:

“Despots govern by terror. They know that he who fears God fears nothing else; and therefore they eradicate from the mind, through their Voltaire, their Helvetius, and the rest of that infamous gang, that only sort of fear which generates true courage.”

“There is but one law for all, namely that law which governs all law, the law of our Creator, the law of humanity, justice, equity – the law of nature and of nations. “

Burke’s conservatism is not the same as Musk’s or Trump’s or Weidel’s conservatism, all three of which, in word and/or deed, deny the Christian cultural values that formed Western conservatism. For Trump and Musk, maybe, that foundation is the Constitution, which was the product of a Christian presuppositional worldview that all men are made in the image of God, all men are sinners in need of a Savior, all men are limited by their own humanity, and thus our government should reflect these Godly assumptions.

Weidel’s “conservatism” seems little more than some form of Enlightenment nationalism wrested on the bedrock of human speculation alone, not God’s laws, not revelatory wisdom, but human-constructed wisdom (the process of “knowing,” or defining for oneself, good and evil).

Like the humanists that smuggle in “oughtness” (assumed universal right actions) with uses of undefined words like “good” and “flourishing,” this godless conservatism smuggles in oughtness with undefined words like “freedom” and “liberty.”

Unlike Burke, who wrested his worldview assumptions about the universal good from revelatory wisdom (from scripture), these “modern” conservatives attribute the universal goods to human understanding alone.

This writer imagines that something similar was going on in Judah over 2500 years ago when King Josiah began what would be the last great reform of Judah before its final collapse. The comparison isn’t perfect because, in this case, Josiah was a righteous ruler who understood the foundation of governance wisdom, the Word of God.

While President Trump gives credit to God for saving his life in the PA assassination attempt, he is hardly a paradigm of a righteous ruler that will lead a nation to repent and seek salvation from the Lord alone.

Still, the fact that Josiah was a righteous ruler, in word and deed, who led a reform that would prove to be a mile wide and an inch deep, he serves as even MORE of a stark warning to Americans here and now. If our American reform is led by an unrighteous man, what makes you think this reform will be more than superficial when not even a righteous ruler like Josiah could make his reform deep?

This writer does not align himself with conservatives, or conservatism in general, though that is based on my philosophical disagreements with them, not necessarily the fruit of Western conservatism. I believe Western conservatism is the philosophical justification (at least the attempted justification) for a Christian cultural reality.

It is that foundation, Christian culturalism, if you will, that I hold in common with conservatives, but not because of the republic of letters, the logical, reasonable, common-sense speculations of men, but because of God’s divinely inspired Word, Scriptures.

Burke’s engagement with the French Revolution unwittingly gave rise to the justification for the removal of the true root of Western conservatism in how he justified his pushback on the ideas being espoused and cut into flesh during the bloody affair.

Burke was the product of the rise of the “republic of letters,” which is the rise of human linguistic wordcraft over the received wisdom of the Word of God. As such, rather than simply appealing to the Word as a rebuke of the evils being espoused and practiced by the violent revolutionaries, Burke appealed to the same false gods many conservatives of today appeal to: logic, reason, and even “common sense.”

Burke affirmed the revolutionaries’ true foundation, linguistic wordcraft, by appealing to logic, reason, and common sense over the revelatory wisdom of God’s word. Even though Burke would not be considered a liberal today, his apologetic in defense of a revelatory-based governance wisdom source laid the groundwork for the complete undoing of that foundation, so that now conservatives in America appeal far more to the Bill of Rights to justify their beliefs than they do the Word of God.

The fact that there now exists a distinct subset of “conservatism” in almost every Western nation called “Christian conservatism” should demonstrate to you just how far afield whatever Western “conservatism” has become (liberal enlightenment humanism, by the way).

It has veered so far from its roots that it can no longer be called conservatism as, at this point, what it wants doesn’t exist, and what used to exist, Christian culturalism, it no longer wants either. It is a new thing, not a preservation of tradition.

As this writer has declared in past reports and even Final Thoughts, America’s great reformation that is currently underway will not produce lasting results. Rather, it will hasten the demise of the American republic, officially. The only person that can “save” America is the only person that can save me, or any of you, Christ.

This comes from a repentant, humbled heart, poor in spirit in comparison to the recognition of God’s great Spirit, mourning, for we see the fallenness of the world just as God sees it, and meek in recognition that it is not by our works, but God’s, lest we should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), which begins with a recognition of your fallen nature and your need for a Savior. If your root is “freedom,” “equity,” “liberty,” “goodness,” or “flourishingness,” then your root is in human linguistic wordcraft, not truth.

Let us ourselves repent and turn to Christ to save our nation and pray that our leaders, starting with President Trump, do the same. Whatever their unrighteous past says about these “leaders,” the empty tomb invites them all to repentance and a turning away from the temptation to “know good and evil” for themselves.

These are leaders of the republic of letters, not sons and daughters of God. Let us hope God leads these men to Him or gives us truly godly leaders, for a good leader is a blessing on the land.

“When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.”  –Proverbs 29:2

Court OK’s N.Y. Repeal of Religious Exemptions from Vaccination Requirement – Reason
Source Link
Excerpt:

An excerpt from the Second Circuit’s long (and, I think, generally correct) decision yesterday in Miller v. McDonald (Judges José Cabranes, Richard Wesley, and Eunice Lee):

In 2019, New York repealed the religious beliefs exemption to its school immunization law. The law now applies to all students attending public, private, or parochial schools, except those who qualify for the law’s medical exemption. Two parents of Amish students, three Amish “community schools,” and an elected representative of all Amish schools in New York sued New York officials … claiming that the school immunization law infringes on their free exercise rights ….

New York maintained [health and religious] exemptions until 2019. During 2018 and 2019, the United States experienced the worst measles outbreak in over twenty-five years; New York was the epicenter. Most cases occurred in communities with clusters of unvaccinated individuals. Following that outbreak, the legislature repealed the religious beliefs exemption while retaining the medical exemption….

A neutral and generally applicable law’s burden on religion is constitutional if the law passes the relatively low hurdle of rational basis review—that the state has chosen a means for addressing a legitimate government interest rationally related to achieving that goal. If a law is not neutral or generally applicable, however, the government must demonstrate that the law satisfies strict scrutiny, which requires the law “to further ‘interests of the highest order’ by means ‘narrowly tailored in pursuit of those interests.'”

“Jesus replied, ‘A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance, a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

And the next day, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, “Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.” Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?’ He said, ‘The one who showed him mercy.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘You go, and do likewise.’” Luke 10:30-37

On January 30, 2025, newly sworn-in Vice President JD Vance had a moment when speaking with Sean Hannity that kicked off a whole host of “debates” (some in good faith, some in bad faith) about the nature of Christian love. He was speaking specifically about the illegal alien invasion of the country and the President’s plan to deport them all.

First, here’s what JD Vance said that kicked off the dust storms:

“[A]s an American leader, but also just as an American citizen, your compassion belongs first to your fellow citizens. It doesn’t mean you hate people from outside of your own borders.

But there’s this old-school [concept] – and I think a very Christian concept, by the way – that you love your family, and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens in your own country, and then after that you can focus and prioritize the rest of the world.”

The go-to counter by the left is to appeal to Luke 10, the Parable of the Good Samaritan, to counter this notion that the Homefront comes first. In this story, a Samaritan, who is considered by many at that time to be a stench on the land, finds a poor (presumably) Jew who had been beaten, robbed, and left for dead. Before the Samaritan (the stench of the land) found him, a priest saw him and passed him by, so too did a member of the tribe of Levi, a Levite (which is the priestly tribe).

In this story, then, we have a non-descript Jew who is near death, and two Jews from the most “holy” of tribes, with one being an officer in one of the highest sacred positions in the land. We have the earth, the below, in the beaten man, and wisdom from heaven, the priest and the Levite, intersecting, and the highest of the highest who is a brother to this Jew walked on, left him for dead.

But the lowest of the low, the stench of the land, the Samaritan, bent down and picked up the earth, the Jew, though he was his enemy. The leftist uses this passage to back up the claim that “Christian” love means we love everyone equally, and so those who are without, whether they be family or fellow citizens, strangers or foreigners, we give first to those with the most needs. The good Samaritan gave to the man who hated him because that man had a greater need than his own.

Of course, this takes the gospel out of the story, as this writer sees it, a story that works to show us the nature of true Christian love, to love your enemy as yourself, but it also shows that this spirit, this Christian love, is what makes you a priest, a high position in a family that crosses all racial and ethnic boundaries.

The priest and the Levite were lower in the earth than the man left for dead, though they walked in the whitewashed tombs of a legacy of true priests and Levites.

That love is possible because Christ loved his enemies as he loved himself at an unfathomable scale, giving His life and suffering the torment of the sins of billions of enemies so that they might be saved, for Christ died for us while we were yet his enemies.

That love was reflected in the Samaritan, who risked death himself, walking into Judean towns. It might be the fact that he was helping a Jew that he himself wasn’t robbed and beaten and left for dead.

The Samaritan was like others in Christ’s gospel from outside the 12 tribes who would show Israel that the righteousness of God in men is what made them high places in His Kingdom declared, a Kingdom among those who follow Christ, not their genetic heritage.

In Matthew 8, Jesus says of the faithful centurion who knew his servant could be healed with but a word from Christ, “Truly I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. I tell you many will come from east and west and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8:11-12).

The message of the Good Samaritan is NOT to give to those who need it the most, for if that were the case, Christ would have chastised the woman who came and washed his feet and used expensive perfumes to anoint Him with, an expense that could have gone to the poor instead. Christ says of her gesture, “Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told.” (Matthew 26:13).

The message of the Good Samaritan is multi-valent, but outside the shadow of Christ we see in the Good Samaritan, it demonstrates to believers what living out the love of Christ looks like in our lives, emboldening us to dare risk life and limb to rescue our enemies from harm. But that doesn’t mean we preclude the needs of loved ones in our lives or form a hierarchy of giving around “need” alone.

The Apostle Paul himself tells us in 1 Timothy 5:8 that “if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and worse than an unbeliever.”

We have a particular responsibility to provide first for our family, our friends, our associates, our fellow citizens, and then ever outward. When Christ came to walk the earth as the Son of Man, He demonstrated that stewardship responsibility to the inner circle, but yet called us to be impartial to those outside our inner circle.

We see an example of this in Mark 7 when Christ delivered the Syrophoenician woman’s daughter from demons because the foreign woman clearly demonstrated faith in Christ the Messiah even though he did not come to serve non-Jews. He judged her impartially, not as a foreigner, but as a daughter of Christ, for she clearly recognized him as the Messiah, calling Him Lord.

As he was leaving, he told them, “You will be witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) He sent them out with a stewardship that began at home (Jerusalem) and extended outward (Judah, then Samaria, and then the ends of the earth) AFTER the home was served first.

On this, JD Vance was right. But he left out a distinction between stewardship and love. Stewardship is the fruit of love through Christ’s love; it is a certain responsibility love leads us to fulfill, but it’s not love itself. This, I believe, is closer to what JD Vance was describing.

This is an important distinction, and it could explain why JD Vance’s message isn’t more clearly understood (though it might reflect his own lack of understanding of the deeper gospel message, that love is about stewardship, but it’s also about impartiality, and even mercy).

Love does not mean I deprive my neighbors to provide for strangers. Love DOES mean that I show NO PARTIALITY to my neighbors over strangers. If my brother steals from a stranger, Christian love compels me to side with the stranger. Love DOES mean if someone is bleeding in front of me and they are my enemy, I stop what I’m doing and seek to come to their aid.

The left leaves out the stewardship responsibility we have to our inner circles, while JD Vance appears to have left out impartiality and mercy in his, equating stewardship with the totality of Christian love, which it is not.

What’s more, he uses this analogy to justify deporting millions of illegal aliens, some of whom might deserve impartiality and mercy when considering their unique circumstances. To be sure, the criminals (the ones who are criminals for more than just being here illegally) will have to go. To let this nation continue to be inundated with dangerous people who have no right to be here would be bad stewardship of our inner circle, our fellow citizens.

But somewhere in that mix are people who might be like that broken man, beaten and left for dead, in need of mercy, even if you imagine these people are our enemies (some of them are, but most of them are not).

In the last of the books of Moses, Deuteronomy, as Moses is preparing his people for his own death, he tells his people, as commanded to him by God “He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.” (Deuteronomy 10:18-19).

It is not good stewardship, and thus not good Christian love, to sacrifice the well-being of your fellow citizens to take care of strangers, but now that they’re here, let us remember it is also not good Christian love to decline to give mercy, nor to decline to serve the ones beaten, robbed, and left for dead either.

As Pope Francis, the oldest pope in over a century, continues to decline in health, speculation is percolating as to who will next be elected as the most powerful Catholic in the world.

The 88-year-old pontiff developed pneumonia in both lungs over the weekend and will remain hospitalized as he battles the infection, according to the Vatican.

Technically any Roman Catholic man can be elected as the heir to St. Peter, though invariably one of the 253 cardinals from around the world will don the papal tiara.

A woman who had three abortions describes saying goodbye to two of her preborn children. She says of her first aborted baby:

“I was young and much more centered on myself and my life circumstances than on the baby. I was not really in contact with this baby.”

Later on, she had two more abortions, 18 months apart. She says:

“I was able to go inside myself and have an intimate relationship with these two babies. I was older, wiser, and able to focus on the meaning of these two close experiences…

Actually, I felt I was talking to the same being both times. I felt gratitude because he/they accompanied me during difficult times. I never felt I was doing them harm.

Just before the abortion for each of them, I asked the lady who showed me the ultrasound screen to give me five minutes alone with the baby, before the intervention. I spoke to each of them in a fluid, soft manner, more like saying, “Thank you, see you later…”

No, Pro-Life Laws Have Not Increased Infant Mortality– www.lifenews.com

Last week, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) released a study that purportedly shows that recently enacted pro-life laws were causing higher infant mortality rates.

The study analyzed the impact of 14 state-level pro-life laws that either effectively banned abortion or protected preborn children after six weeks’ gestation. It considered state-level infant mortality data from 2012 to 2023. This study has received a great deal of uncritical coverage from many mainstream media outlets including the New York Times, CNN, BBC, The Hill, Time, and USA Today.

Not surprisingly, there is less here than meets the eye. The data indicate that overall infant mortality rates increased in 2022 but declined in 2023. Additionally, 2023 saw infant mortality rate declines in both the group of states with strong pro-life laws and the group of states with permissive abortion policies. There is no consistent upward trajectory in infant mortality. Furthermore, infant mortality rate trends appear fairly similar in both groups of states.

Texas Church Invited Drag Queen Who Threatened Trump Supporters– www.louderwithcrowder.com

Even if voting for Kamala was the morally superior thing to do, which it was not, a church should never be advocating for violence against anyone who disagreed with them. However, one Texas “church” took this opportunity to mock Christianity and hold a “Drag King’s” Sermon.

What was even the point besides virtue signaling how much they despise half the country? How can these people claim to be inclusive of everyone while mocking the people they are supposed to lead?

According to the “Cathedral of Hope’s” Facebook page, this sermon was intended to share a message of “love, welcome, and inclusion.” However, it’s unclear how one does that while calling to Kill Trump Voters and mocking Texas Governor Greg Abbott because he is in a wheelchair.

The church also claimed the event was so that they church can “bless and affirm those who use drag as an art form and affirm their transgender siblings made in the image of God.” And the most insane thing about that claim is that to accept transgenderism as truth, you would have to accept the notion that God makes mistakes, which he does not.

New laws will be introduced into the New South Wales parliament on Tuesday which the government says will “confront hate speech”, and establish a new criminal offence for intentionally inciting racial hatred.

Attorney-General Michael Daley said the legislation is designed “to crack down on the really unacceptable spate of escalating and troubling graffiti, racial hatred and antisemitism we’ve seen lately in New South Wales”.

It would create a new criminal offence for intentionally inciting racial hatred, with a maximum penalty of up to two years’ jail, or fines of up to $11,000, if found guilty.
