Two Democrat Governors—Illinois’ JB Pritzker and New York’s Kathy Hochul—face enormously important decision. Each has a bill on their desk which, if signed, will add to the roster of 11 states which allow assisted suicide.
Hochul has had months to decide—the House and Senate passed the “Medical Aid in Dying Act” in April and June, respectively—and opponents of assisted suicide hope and pray the long delay means that in the end she will veto S.138/A.136.
Proponents have pushed passage for years and years, proving yet again that pro-lifers can never rest.
The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago has filed a federal lawsuit against the city’s Board of Education, accusing the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) of religious discrimination. The district allegedly barred its students from participating in a student-teaching program because of the college’s faith-based hiring policies.
The suit, filed on November 4 by Alliance Defending Freedom, claims that CPS excluded Moody students from its Pre-Service Teaching Program when the college refused to sign agreements requiring compliance with the district’s nondiscrimination provisions. Those provisions prohibit employment discrimination based on religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
“As a condition of participation, Chicago Public Schools insists that Moody sign agreements with employment nondiscrimination provisions that forbid Moody from employing only those who share and live out its faith,”
The University of Michigan Faculty Senate is aggressively urging the school to ignore federal rules — and science — to continue castrating minors in the name of transgender ideology.
The motion claims that so-called gender-affirming care is “medically necessary,” which is preposterous, since it is impossible to change one’s biological sex. Thus attempting to do so cannot be necessary; indeed, it can only be harmful. It is disturbing that the faculty senate is so blinded by ideology that they are determined to mutilate children at all costs and against all evidence.
The UMich faculty senate asserted in a motion that its obligation “to serve the people of Michigan and the world through preeminence in creating, communicating, preserving and applying knowledge, art, and academic values, and in developing leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich the future” necessitates transgender mutilation for minors. Sounds as if another university needs to lose federal funding.
I know next to nothing about South Australia other than it is the fourth largest state in Australia by area and is located in the southern central part of the country. That and the establishment newspapers have no use for pro-lifers or for even the slightest rollback of their ultra-liberal abortion laws.
In 2023, abortion was “decriminalized” nationwide in Australia.
The headline to Barbara Baird and Prudence Flower’s story is typical: “South Australia is now the battleground for the forced-birth movement.” The subhead is “Conservative forces both inside and outside of state parliament want to make abortion a key issue in 2026.”
So what was the proposal just voted down by the Legislative Council (upper house) 11-8? “To limit terminations after 23 weeks.” This modest proposal was described by Anna Stewart as “controversial”.
Higher education may have reached another turning point. As we have documented over the last few days, an event for Turning Point USA at UC-Berkeley was met with a violent mob. These were not ‘protesters and demonstrators’ as the media loves to call them.
These were people who were there to celebrate the death of Charlie Kirk, keep the TPUSA event from happening, and hurt the people who showed up for the event.
The DOJ has already launched an investigation, and Berkeley has signaled its willingness to cooperate. This investigation absolutely needs to happen. Enough is enough.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) has appealed the case of licensed clinical social worker Rod Theis to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, arguing that an Oregon school engaged in discrimination and violated his right to express his beliefs like other staffers.
Theis has worked with the InterMountain Service District in Oregon for 17 years. Theis is an education specialist, a position that requires him to travel to the 17 school districts that InterMountain serves. He administers standardized tests to students and evaluates their academic level and behavioral assessments to determine their needs.
The schools Theis works in provide him an office to perform the assessments, where his only interaction with students is administering the tests. His office is marked with a sign which reads “Staff Only”.

A Christian university in Texas is apologizing for a recent situation in which a pro-life student group was forced to remove its “abortion is murder” sign.
Abilene Christian University’s ACU for Life group last month was tabling in the campus center with a sign that read: “Abortion is Murder. Disagree? Let’s talk.”
Bishop Julius Jia Zhiguo, a leader of China’s underground Catholic Church who endured decades of persecution under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has died at 90 years old. Yet his passing has drawn no official response from the Vatican. Bishop Jia, long targeted for his pastoral ministry, was repeatedly arrested by the Communist Party.
Starting in 1962, Bishop Jia endured multiple prison terms, ranging from periods of house arrest to as long as 15 years in confinement, for refusing to submit to the regime’s state-sanctioned church. His arrests marked significant stoppages in negotiations between Rome and China.
The abortion industry’s ugliest secret is that babies are regularly born alive after attempted abortions and left to die by the medical professionals who had just tried to kill them. There are frequent and documented examples of this in just the past several years in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and in Ireland, where abortion has only been legal since 2019.
Now government data has confirmed that in New Zealand, babies are being born alive after attempted abortions at least once a month and, as is standard practice, are dying without being provided medical care. Abortion is legal on demand until 20 weeks of pregnancy and is frequently perpetrated afterwards if a doctor signs off that it is necessary for “health” reasons.
“Family First New Zealand reported they were able to obtain government data after filing an official request, and discovered preborn children survive attempted abortions on a regular basis,” Live Action News reported. “Since 2020, 80 attempted abortions have resulted in live births, though the real number may be even higher, as some districts did not provide the information. The abortion survivors were between 20 and 30 weeks gestation, and received no life-saving care.”
After several busy days of Conservative Party conference lobbying politicians and darting between fringe events, I decided to venture down enemy territory lane and attend the Dignity in Dying (DiD) panel fringe event. Contrary to what the media might have you believe, fringe events were packed, people spilling out like sardines into the corridors, and I often found myself turning up a good half-hour early just to secure a standing spot, never mind a seat sandwiched between two delegates.

On Thursday, Rhode Island District Judge John McConnell ordered the Trump administration to fund SNAP benefits amid the Schumer shutdown.
The lawless judge directed the Trump administration to divert funds from child nutrition programs to SNAP. On Friday evening, the First Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Judge John McConnell’s order, requiring the administration to deliver full SNAP benefits to states by midnight.
Zohran Mamdani is now the Mayor-elect of New York City. During his campaign, he “vowed to ‘protect New Yorkers from’ pro-life pregnancy centers which he accused of spreading ‘false or deceptive information.’” His threat refers directly to CompassCare. CompassCare runs the only three pro-life medical pregnancy centers in all of New York City. His threat mimics the lawsuit brought by pro-abortion activist Letitia James, New York’s Attorney General, who endorsed Mamdani’s mayoral bid.
Many people are asking how the newly elected, self-avowed, Islamic communist will impact the already battered Christian pro-life medical pregnancy centers like CompassCare. The Christian pro-life pregnancy network is already managing lawsuits with New York State Legislation, lawsuits with New York City ordinances, lawsuits from New York Attorney General Letitia James, Big Tech censorship, and security concerns of a resurgence of pro-abortion violence, emboldened by the revolutionary rhetoric from Marxist politicians in Democrat clothes.
Several years ago, I traveled to Amsterdam as part of the National Right to Life delegation for a multi-issue pro-family conference. The event brought together representatives from dozens of countries and organizations working in maternal health, children’s welfare, family policy, and religious freedom. The aim was to present abortion not as a theoretical concept but as a physical reality, one that leaves lasting scars on families and societies.

College alleges the public school system wants it to abandon its ‘religiously based hiring practices’
Moody Bible Institute, an evangelical Protestant college in Illinois, filed a lawsuit Tuesday alleging the Chicago public school system is discriminating against its student teachers because of its Christian mission.
“Chicago desperately needs more teachers to fill hundreds of vacancies, but public school administrators are putting personal agendas ahead of the needs of families,” Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Jeremiah Galus stated in a news release. The conservative legal organization is representing the college.
The school district declined to comment on the lawsuit when contacted Wednesday.
“Chicago Public Schools (CPS) remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students. In accordance with District policy, CPS does not comment on matters involving pending litigation,” spokesperson Evan Moore stated in an email to The College Fix.

According to the Diamondback student newspaper, the resolution — which passed unanimously — urges administrators “to condemn the hosting of the soldiers and change university policy so that student organizations and academic departments will not be able to host speakers who have been found, or are being actively investigated for genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity or systematic human rights violations.”
The resolution is non-binding, meaning it only represents the opinions of the student government and is not enforcable.
The crux of the controversy centers on an event held Oct. 21 by Students Supporting Israel featuring three guest speakers, Israel Defense Forces soldiers, who shared “their experiences fighting for Israel before and after October 7, and their advice for us college students on standing up against antisemitism and anti-Zionism every day,” according to the group.
The event prompted a protest, during which four students, including two student journalists, were detained by police for an hour, the Diamondback reported; according to campus police: “Four people were in the hallway causing a disruption. This disruption included screaming, holding signs and recording their actions.”
The BBC has upheld a complaint against the newsreader Martine Croxall after she changed the term “pregnant people” to “women” and raised her eyebrows during a news channel broadcast in the summer.
The corporation said its executive complaints unit (ECU) had upheld 20 complaints about the broadcast. It said Croxall’s facial expression “laid it open to the interpretation that it indicated a particular viewpoint in the controversies currently surrounding trans identity”.

In the fall of 2010, the Heritage Foundation was invited to send a speaker to a charter school class in the District of Columbia to discuss abortion. I was nominated for the task and arrived that morning at the Cesar Chavez Public Charter School for a back-and-forth with a representative from the D.C.-area Planned Parenthood.
The classroom had approximately 30 students, nearly all female and mostly freshmen and sophomores. It proved to be a good, low-key exchange, during which I learned the young women had been given a tour of a local Planned Parenthood facility. The classroom was not set up for audio visuals, and I had planned to dwell primarily on talking points about the value of life and setting behavioral standards necessary for personal success and happiness. But I did bring with me a set of visuals depicting the development of the child in the womb — straightforward prenatal biology and not violent images. The pictures were accurate and beautiful.
