A new State Department report contends Cuba has spent years quietly building a network of sympathetic American activist groups it can mobilize against U.S. policy, citing a recently circulated nationwide protest plan as evidence.

The plan, distributed in June as the “National Rapid Response Plan,” came from the National Network on Cuba (NNOC), a U.S. coalition of more than 60 organizations. The State Department ties the coalition to Havana through the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, or ICAP, a Cuban entity sanctioned in June over alleged support for Cuban intelligence operations.

The document instructs organizers to launch “coordinated nationwide actions” within 24 hours of any U.S. strike on Cuba, aiming to make it “politically and materially costly for the U.S. government to wage war on Cuba.” The report calls the plan proof of Cuba’s “subversive capabilities on American territory.”

Organizers are told to converge on federal buildings, courthouses, military bases and ICE facilities. The plan seeks to “connect Cuba solidarity to anti-ICE/immigrant defense work happening nationwide” and points activists to a database mapping 1,335 U.S. military and law-enforcement sites in the Western Hemisphere.

The third U.S. Service member who was killed in the Middle East last week has been identified.

Last week U.S. CENTCOM announced two U.S. Service members were killed in Jordan after Iran struck a base in Jordan where U.S. troops were stationed.

U.S. CENTCOM further revealed a third soldier was MIA but later revealed an unidentiefd body discovered in the aftermath of the attack is believed to be the third service member.

Around the same time a U.S. soldier was killed in Iraq while conducting a controlled detonation of an Iranian drone.

The soldier who was killed during the controlled detonation has now been identify as 30-year-old Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton.

Dozens of soldiers were injured in previously unreported strikes last week, the New York Times says

The Pentagon has withheld information about dozens of service members injured during the war with Iran, The New York Times reported on Monday, citing US officials.

On Friday, Iran struck a US military site in Jordan, killing two soldiers, wounding four, and leaving one missing. According to the Times, however, dozens of service members were injured throughout the week in three other strikes against US forces in the country. Several helicopters were also reportedly damaged in the attacks.

An official told CNN that “it can take several days or even weeks” for an injury to be logged into the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS), an official database. A total of 427 service members have been injured in the war with Iran, the Times said, citing official figures.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell argued that “providing real-time information on non-fatal casualties to the media is the same as providing that information directly to our adversaries.”

President Donald Trump said Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “will not be arrested” when he visits New York in September, pushing back on a suggestion by Mayor Zohran Mamdani that such an arrest could happen.

Mamdani has said New York City’s legal department is discussing the possibility of arresting Netanyahu when the prime minister is in the city to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

TOKYO — Japan expressed concern after a Chinese navy destroyer conducted live-fire drills off a remote Japanese island in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday during its joint exercise with Russia, officials said Tuesday.

The Chinese Luyang III-class guided-missile destroyer conducted a live-fire exercise off Japan’s southernmost island of Okinotori, hours after the Japanese navy spotted it operating alongside two other Chinese warships and a Russian frigate, the Japanese Joint Staff said.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara told reporters Tuesday that his government conveyed concerns that the live-fire drills posed a potential safety threat to nearby vessels. He noted that ships near the area received a notice from the Chinese warships just before the drills started.

“We will continue to watch China-Russia operations around Japan with concern, while doing utmost for the warning and surveillance of the Japanese airspace and territorial waters,” Kihara said.

Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, in a speech Monday in Britain, said the action underscored “the deepening military cooperation between China and Russia,” as he also noted China’s ballistic missile launch from a submarine earlier this month, and at least 10 joint flights conducted by Chinese and Russian bombers around Japan.
