American tech companies are racing to usher in the development of humanoid robots, stressing their importance to the future economy. But analysts warn they are already at risk of losing out to competitors in China.

So-called humanoid robots — artificial intelligence-powered machines designed to resemble humans in appearance and movement — are expected to provide a range of use cases, such as filling industrial and service sector jobs.

Investor excitement surrounding the robots has been mounting amid increased mentions from tech leaders like Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, who ushered in “the age of generalist robotics” earlier this month as he announced a new portfolio of technologies for humanoid robot development.

In the manufacturing of the robots themselves, Tesla‘s humanoid robot project, Optimus, appears to be leading in the U.S., with CEO Elon Musk announcing plans to produce about 5,000 units this year.

Hegseth says U.S. will ensure ‘deterrence’ across Taiwan Strait– japantoday.com

The United States will ensure “robust, ready and credible deterrence” across the Taiwan Strait, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Sunday, calling China “aggressive and coercive”.

Hegseth also stopped short of publicly calling on Tokyo to hike military spending, saying in Japan he trusted the close U.S. ally to “make the correct determination of what capabilities are needed”.

“America is committed to sustaining robust, ready and credible deterrence in the Indo-Pacific, including across the Taiwan Strait,” Hegseth said, using Washington’s term for the Asia-Pacific region.

Beijing has stepped up military pressure in recent years around Taiwan, including near-daily air incursions, and has not ruled out using force to bring the self-ruled island under its control.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s “America First” approach could mean weakening the U.S. commitment for security in the region, analysts have warned.

Iran Has Rejected Direct Negotiations With the U.S., Trump– time.com

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Iran’s president said Sunday that the Islamic Republic rejected direct negotiations with the United States over its rapidly advancing nuclear program, offering Tehran’s first response to a letter that U.S. President Donald Trump sent to the country’s supreme leader.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran’s response, delivered via the sultanate of Oman, left open the possibility of indirect negotiations with Washington. However, such talks have made no progress since Trump in his first term unilaterally withdrew the U.S. from Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers in 2018.

In the years since, regional tensions have boiled over into attacks at sea and on land. Then came the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip, which saw Israel target militant group leaders across Iran’s self-described “Axis of Resistance.” Now, as the U.S. conducts intense airstrikes targeting the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels of Yemen, the risk of military action targeting Iran’s nuclear program remains on the table.

NATO members considering deploying air and naval forces to Ukraine – WaPo — RT World News– www.rt.com

Several European nations are reportedly shifting away from the idea of sending ground troops to the country

France and the UK are leading discussions on sending a military force to Ukraine, with the focus shifting to a potential deployment of air and naval forces amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations, the Washington Post reported on Sunday, citing sources.

The two countries seek to send a European-led ‘reassurance force’ to Ukraine to secure cities and key sites away from the front lines and to provide logistical support and training to the Ukrainian army.

As part of the effort, a French-British military team plans to visit Ukraine in the coming weeks to assess the number of troops needed and potential deployment locations, the WaPo says.

According to unnamed diplomats familiar with the matter, “the European focus has also shifted to air and sea power” due to concerns over whether the West would be able to maintain a large deployment of ground troops, while some NATO members have proposed using their assets to patrol the skies or the Black Sea.

However, some European officials doubt that a ceasefire – a precondition for deploying troops – will be reached soon, a WaPo source said. According to the paper, some diplomats describe the discussions about sending the military to Ukraine “as an exercise in preparation and leverage.”

Several European countries are reportedly hesitant to send troops without a promise from the US to intervene in case of an escalation, with European officials seeking American support in the form of air defense assets, intelligence, and heavy airlift. However, US President Donald Trump has not provided assurances, with officials from his team offering mixed signals over whether the option is even on the table.

While Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, recently described the initiative as “simplistic,” a French official familiar with the matter told the WaPo that the discussions are proceeding “in perfect harmony with our American partners, who are interested in this approach and have told us it’s a good one.”

Russia has warned against any unauthorized deployment of foreign troops to Ukraine, which it would consider to be legitimate targets. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said Moscow is opposed to the idea of deploying NATO troops to Ukraine, regardless of whether they are “under a foreign flag, under the flag of the European Union or national flags.”

Trump Putin: Russian newspaper fires salvo at Trump for not fulfilling ‘obligations’ after his ‘angry with Putin’ remark– timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Trump said he’s angry with Putin as he’s delaying the agreement with Ukraine.

Reacting to US President Donald Trump’s caustic remark about Vladimir Putin that he was “pissed off” at Putin for delaying agreement with Ukraine to end the ongoing war, Moskovsky Komsomolets, a leading pro-Kremlin paper, accused Trump of not fulfilling “obligations” to stop Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.
“All agreements on the level of President Trump are only worth a few pennies on market day. Moscow is prepared to make a deal with the US president, as ‘the leader of the free world’, and the undisputed boss of Nato and ‘the lord and master of Kyiv’. But right now the leader is not leading, the boss is not bossing and the lord is not directing his vassal,” the paper stated. “The Trump administration is demonstrating a strange passivity, a strange inconsistency and a strange inability to fulfil the obligations it took upon itself,” the report said adding that Moscow has another way of ending the Ukraine crisis in a manner that suits Russia.

“If the diplomats cannot move the peace process forward, the military will do all the talking. Putin has made his move, now we wait for Trump’s,” the paper said.

TRUMP: ‘VERY ANGRY, PISSED OFF’: With Russian President Vladimir Putin showing he’s in no hurry to make peace with Ukraine and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky balking at the latest version of the proposed mineral deals with the U.S., President Donald Trump is showing his frustration with both leaders as the prospects for a quick, war-ending deal are fading fast.

Trump, as quoted by NBC Meet the Press moderator Kristen Welker, is unhappy with Putin’s latest delaying tactic, calling for “temporary international administration” in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations, because Putin claims Zelensky is not the legitimate leader of Ukraine.

“The president told me, quote, ‘I was very angry, pissed off’ when Putin started getting into Zelensky’s credibility and started talking about new leadership in Ukraine,” Welker said in the opening of her Sunday show. “If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault, which it might not be. But if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on all oil coming out of Russia,” Welker quoted Trump as saying.

The city of London, England, was once 97 percent white. It is now 37 percent white as the town continues to devolve into chaos and degradation.

As the Gateway Pundit reported, Harrison Pitt, a prominent writer and thinker in Britain’s national conservative sphere, and Peter Whittle, founder of New Culture Forum, sat down recently for a discussion about the disintegration of the United Kingdom.

During the far-reaching discussion, Whittle noted that “London has stopped being my city.”

As Gateway notes:

[Whittle ] also discusses the failure of political leaders to address these issues and the need for more radical reform.

Whittle argues that London—a city that he says is now increasingly transactional and disconnected from its historical roots—has lost its cultural soul due to the demographic shift.

He observes that many of today’s London residents lack the collective memories and shared experiences that once shaped the city’s identity and served as a unifying cultural and social fabric.

For over 16 months, Palestinians in Gaza have endured unspeakable humanitarian circumstances unseen since the Second World War. Almost 2 million people in Gaza have been internally displaced, with more than 150,000 people killed or injured according to the UN, 50 percent of hospitals and medical facilities destroyed, 88 percent of schools partially or fully shattered, 68 percent of agricultural areas damaged and 68 percent of roads have become dysfunctional.

As the statistics reflect, Israel’s war didn’t turn out to be just a war against Hamas, but expanded to the entire civilian population and its critical infrastructure.

To address this crisis of colossal magnitude, two critical steps need to be taken. First, we must immediately provide a comprehensive and thorough humanitarian plan that alleviates the suffering of Palestinians and restore life back to Gaza through early recovery programs and reconstruction.

Second, it is imperative that we offer a political roadmap that brings decisive closure to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict once and for all culminating in an independent Palestinian state and ensure that this latest horrific round of violence becomes the final one. Let me address both steps.

Venezuela’s socialist regime launched a new website Tuesday that allows individuals to report alleged “unjust deportations” of Venezuelan illegal migrants from the United States “before it’s too late.”

The website is managed by the “Committee for the Defense of Venezuelan Migrants,” an organization directly affiliated with the Venezuelan socialist regime that describes itself as an organization “committed to the defense and promotion of human rights focused on denouncing and making visible the situation of Venezuelan migrants in the U.S.”

“We are a collective committed to the defense and promotion of human rights focused on denouncing and making visible the particular situation of vulnerability of Venezuelan citizens in the United States, whose presidential policy has been dedicated to stigmatize migration,” the website reads. “The persecution, imprisonment and deportation of Venezuelans without due process is an aberration that should not be indifferent to us and that constitutes an anachronistic and illegal act that evokes the most nefarious episodes of human history.”

Albania and Croatia signed a declaration in Tirana on March 18, through which the countries commit to strengthening cooperation in the field of defense and security, a development that has prompted reactions in Serbia, which described it as an “open provocation” directed at Belgrade.

Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Ejup Makedonci, signed this statement together with his Albanian counterpart, Pirro Vengu, and his Croatian counterpart, Ivan Anusic.

“Based on our shared values, the same geostrategic orientations and mutual commitments to regional cooperation, Albania, Croatia and Kosovo are committed to strengthening cooperation and advancing steps to protect our territories and peoples, to contribute to international peace and security, as well as to the development of the defense industry,” said the Macedonian after signing the declaration.

According to him, the three countries will work to increase interoperability between their militaries through education, training and joint exercises, will engage in combating hybrid threats, and will coordinate policies for Euro-Atlantic integration.

On March 17, 2025, Donald Trump issued a significant statement on his Truth Social account. This firm and threatening message explicitly holds Khamenei’s regime accountable for the actions of the Houthis in Yemen, aiming to exert direct pressure on Iran’s leadership. Trump’s statement carries several key aspects.

In his statement, Trump wrote:

Let nobody be fooled! The hundreds of attacks being made by Houthi, the sinister mobsters and thugs based in Yemen, who are hated by the Yemeni people, all emanate from, and are created by, IRAN. Any further attack or retaliation by the ‘Houthis’ will be met with great force, and there is no guarantee that that force will stop there. Iran has played ‘the innocent victim’ of rogue terrorists from which they’ve lost control, but they haven’t lost control. They’re dictating every move, giving them the weapons, supplying them with money and highly sophisticated Military equipment, and even, so-called, ‘Intelligence.’ Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN, and IRAN will be held responsible, and suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire!
