In the end, we watched our promised red wave dry up into a pink trickle and instead had our a**es handed to us. And with its recently corrected status as a legislative matter, abortion promised to be a perennial issue. Right-wing strategists fretted that, with abortion on the table in every upcoming election from now on, there would always be enough single-issue pro-abortion voters to make it impossible for Republicans ever to win another election in almost every state as well as nationally.
I worried about this as well, but I was also hopeful that people would now be free to decide the abortion issue in a more regional and democratic manner. I figured it would settle into an uneasy peace sooner or later. Now, it looks as though the issue may already be easing down the importance scale, in time for the 2024 election.
Exhibit A is Florida. In April 2023, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the state’s “Heartbeat Protection Act,” banning most abortions after six weeks of gestation. The political strategist in me cringed. Florida’s deep red hue of recent years has been such a morale booster, that I was loathe to see it lost in the abortion wars. After legal challenges failed, the law went into effect last May, and I winced again. This election is crucial to America’s preservation, and if we couldn’t even hold Florida, what chance did the rest of the country have?

“On Sunday, 60 Minutes teased Kamala’s highly-anticipated sit-down interview with this epic word salad that received significant criticism on social media,” Trump 2024 national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a press release. “During the full interview on Monday evening, the word salad was deceptively edited to lessen Kamala’s idiotic response.”
Leavitt wondered what else might have been left on the cutting room floor.
“Why did 60 Minutes choose not to air Kamala’s full word salad, and what else did they choose not to air?” she said.
“The American people deserve the full, unedited transcript from Kamala’s sit-down interview,” Leavitt continued. “We call upon 60 Minutes and CBS to release it. What do they, and Kamala, have to hide?”
Trump has refused to appear on the show ever since 60 Minutes host Leslie Stahl in 2020 falsely claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop was not a story because it was “unverified.”
In a post on Truth Social Tuesday, Trump accused the show’s news division of illegally deceptively editing a number of Harris’ answers to make her seem “more Presidential.”

This is a lawsuit that could have far-ranging implications.
On Sept. 9, the Department of Justice (DOJ) issued guidance seemingly threatening legal action against governmental authorities and election integrity watchdogs who might work with them to clean voter rolls, should they endeavor to do so within 90 days of Election Day. The lawsuit alleges that Williams intentionally excluded qualified Republican poll workers from the hiring process for the upcoming November 2024 election, hiring only 15 Republicans out of 804 total election staff.
The lawsuit, filed in Fulton County Superior Court, seeks an emergency writ of mandamus, demanding Williams immediately appoint the Republican poll workers that were submitted for consideration.
Under Georgia law, political parties are entitled to submit lists of qualified individuals to serve as poll workers, and election officials are required to ensure balanced representation from both parties at polling places.
However, according to the lawsuit, the RNC and its affiliates claim that Williams has outright ignored their lists, violating the state law meant to ensure fair elections.
Out of 62 qualified Republicans submitted to work on election day, only 6 were hired. Similarly, of the 45 Republicans who applied for early voting positions, a mere 9 were selected.
According to the filing:
“As of the date of filing this Application for Emergency Writ of Mandamus, RNC, GRP and Fulton GOP believe that a total of 62 individuals on their list have applied with Defendant to work on Election Day. However, Defendant has only hired 6 of these 62 qualified workers.
A large percentage of these 62 qualified workers have never been contacted or have no idea of whether Defendant Williams intends to issue an order of appointment.
Based upon information and belief, Defendant Williams has found that 12 of the 62 individuals that are willing to work on Election Day are qualified to work the elections. However, rather than issue an appointment, Defendant Williams has put these qualified poll workers “on reserve.”
Defendant Williams has ostensibly placed the RNC, GRP and Fulton GOP’s list of qualified workers at the back of the line for Election Day work.”

Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen asked a judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the Department of Justice that argued the state was removing people from its voter registration list too close to Election Day, according to a court motion filed Wednesday.
Lawyers for Alabama’s attorney general argued that the state’s decision to switch more than 3,000 voters to inactive status was a legal move after the DOJ argued Allen violated a provision of the National Voter Registration Act that implements a “quiet period” in the 90 days before an election.
The Alabama attorneys said the lawsuit should be tossed out because the DOJ, as well as private plaintiffs who are part of the suit, did not identify any violation of the NVRA provision.
The NVRA, a landmark bill signed into law in 1993, requires states to complete “any program the purpose of which is to systematically remove the names of ineligible voters from the official lists of eligible voters” before the 90-day quiet period begins.
Allen’s office identified 3,251 people on its voter rolls who could be noncitizens based, in part, on their alien numbers, which the Department of Homeland Security assigns to noncitizens, some of whom could become citizens.
Former Mesa, Colorado Clerk Tina Peters was sentenced to 9 years in prison for the crime of documenting evidence that the 2020 election Arizona’s Mesa County was fraudulent. She sought to preserve the security passwords of the county’s Dominion voting system to document how the system was vulnerable to outsider hacking.
Peters, 68, is also a God Star mother, meaning she lost a child to war who was fighting to serve the American republic. Her sentence of 9 years is more lenient than illegal immigrants get for beating up the police. Peters’ defense of her actions highlights the criminality of this illegal conviction and treasonous sentencing from Democrats abusing their government powers to serve the party, even if it means denying basic American Rule of Law.
She stated, “We have a secretary of state that is drunk with power. She makes emergency decrees and when we query her – she refuses to answer in violation of the state law. The lawsuit, filed in Fulton County Superior Court, seeks an emergency writ of mandamus, demanding Williams immediately appoint the Republican poll workers that were submitted for consideration.
Under Georgia law, political parties are entitled to submit lists of qualified individuals to serve as poll workers, and election officials are required to ensure balanced representation from both parties at polling places.
However, according to the lawsuit, the RNC and its affiliates claim that Williams has outright ignored their lists, violating the state law meant to ensure fair elections.
Out of 62 qualified Republicans submitted to work on election day, only 6 were hired. Similarly, of the 45 Republicans who applied for early voting positions, a mere 9 were selected.

“As of the date of filing this Application for Emergency Writ of Mandamus, RNC, GRP and Fulton GOP believe that a total of 62 individuals on their list have applied with Defendant to work on Election Day. However, Defendant has only hired 6 of these 62 qualified workers.
A large percentage of these 62 qualified workers have never been contacted or have no idea of whether Defendant Williams intends to issue an order of appointment.
Based upon information and belief, Defendant Williams has found that 12 of the 62 individuals that are willing to work on Election Day are qualified to work the elections. However, rather than issue an appointment, Defendant Williams has put these qualified poll workers “on reserve.”
Defendant Williams has ostensibly placed the RNC, GRP and Fulton GOP’s list of qualified workers at the back of the line for Election Day work.”

On August 16, 2024, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) opened a congressional investigation into alleged ties between Walz and Chinese government officials. Comer reported that Walz has visited China at least 30 times and operated Travel Adventures Inc., a for-profit enterprise that organized trips to China for American children from 1991 through 2003.
In addition, Walz was a fellow at the Macau Polytechnic University during his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, a Chinese institution that characterizes itself as having a “long held devotion to and love for the motherland.”
