The Libertarian Party invited Donald Trump to be their headline speaker at their party’s convention later this month. Now, Libertarians are a little goofy, but they agree with conservatives on some important issues, especially on fiscal issues like low taxes, restrained spending, and the limited role government should play in society.

Grabbing a headliner like Trump for their national convention would seem to be a coup for the minor Libertarian Party. And many Libertarians see it that way.

But there are some Libertarians who agree more with the socially liberal Democratic Party and hence have been bad-mouthing Trump’s appearance.

Libertarian Party National Committee Chair Angela McArdle told The Washington Post that opposition has come from “a small noisy faction,” and the dissent will not change her mind about inviting Trump.

“I can certainly understand that there are a handful of people allergic to relevance, afraid to confront their political opposition, afraid of losing control of the narrative,” she said, “but in 50-plus years, the Libertarian Party has never been on the main stage politically and this is an incredible opportunity for us to bring someone who grabs the spotlight and put them on our stage.”

On Tuesday, Joe Biden delivered remarks at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s annual Days of Remembrance ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Biden’s remarks come in the face of antisemitic protests that have roiled college campuses. Many people feel that not only has Biden not spoken out enough about the issue but that he also “both sides” it by doing things like talking about Islamophobia in an attempt to appeal to leftist voters.

Israel’s initial assault on the Rafah border crossing has successfully given the IDF “operational control” of the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing with Egypt. Israel is signaling that this will be the jumping-off point for the main thrust into the city.

The border operation resulted in the killing of 20 Hamas fighters, as well as the discovery of three operational tunnels. The IDF is taking its time searching for other “infrastructure” in the area. In the meantime, the crossing has been closed to all aid deliveries and all traffic. The IDF is sealing Rafah as tight as a drum and is ratcheting up pressure on Hamas to agree to a real ceasefire deal, not the bogus agreement that Hamas said it would accept just minutes before the attack on the border crossing began.

After false claims from Hamas that they accepted a ceasefire agreement Monday, playing games in hopes of staving off further military action against them in the Gaza Strip, Israel is moving forward with a ground operation into Rafah.

The southern city near the border with Egypt is crawling with thousands of Hamas terrorists who are holding hundreds of hostages, including Americans. Earlier in the day the Israeli Defense Forces dropped leaflets warning non-combatants to evacuate.

The White House confirmed that Hamas had submitted a positive ceasefire response on Monday but declined to discuss the parameters or say if it was the proposal put forth by the United States, Israel, and other regional allies.

The terrorist group responsible for the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel said Monday afternoon that it had accepted a three-tiered ceasefire proposal that would allow for hostages held by Hamas and Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces to be released.

However, Israeli officials said in public statements that the proposal Hamas accepted was a watered-down version and would not be accepted by the Israeli government.

Apparently, the lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic haven’t been learned. Dangerous biolab experiments continue – humanity be damned.

According to the Daily Mail,

Chinese scientists have engineered a virus with parts of Ebola in a lab that killed a group of hamsters.

A team of researchers at Hebei Medical University used a contagious disease of livestock and added a protein found in Ebola, which allows the virus to infect cells and spread throughout the human body.

The group of hamsters that received the lethal injection ‘developed severe systemic diseases similar to those observed in human Ebola patients,’ including multi-organ failure,’ the study shared.

First on MRC Business: George Soros’ Open Society Foundations sunk massive amounts of cash into several universities—most of which have been a breeding ground for radical anti-Israel students and whose administrations responded poorly to protestors, agitators and rioters trespassing, breaking into and occupying buildings and harassing Jewish students.

Both the New York Post and Politico have reported on Soros’ connections to the groups leading the anti-Israel protests. And now, an MRC Business investigation exposed how Soros has also given at least $34,638,060 to the nine universities that have made headlines for their slow response to anti-Semitic protests and riots, as well as their ineffectual or possibly even sympathetic administrators.

Among the recipients of Soros funding connections were Columbia University, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of North Carolina (UNC), University of Southern California (USC), City University of New York (CUNY), the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and, of course, the University of California Berkeley from 2016 to 2022.

Soros also poured money into media and journalism-related initiatives at several of these schools, including $2,399,360 to Harvard, $1,827,560 to Columbia, $366,369 to UNC and $125,000 to CUNY.

Late last year, six of the LLGB’s
12 trustees took a stand against the directors’ attempt to insert mentally-compromised men into women’s spaces nationwide, indicating that the demand contravened British law, which protects sex-segregated spaces. They implored the U.S.-based board to permit the organization to remain single-sex, as groups in Muslim countries and other nations resistant to gender ideology are permitted.

The international wing of the LLL responded in February, “We focus on providing breastfeeding support and understand the importance of making our spaces welcoming to all those who want to breastfeed or give their babies human milk.”

“We don’t argue with parents or other leaders about how they identify; we accept them with respect, just as they say they are, and do not refer to them with words that conflict with their identity,” added LLLI.

For having dared to suggest that babies deserve real breast milk contra some drug-induced slurry from fetishists, the LLLI suspended the dissenting trustees, stating, “The continued promotion of LLL as an organization that excludes people is damaging to LLL’s credibility.”…

The ousted trustees said in a
statement obtained by the maternity care advocacy coalition With Woman, “La Leche League (LLL) has always been about mother-to-mother support to breastfeed. Being able to provide a female-only service is fundamental to the rights, safety and wellbeing of both mothers and babies.”

“Pressure to abandon mother-only breastfeeding services has been building internationally at LLL for several years as gender-identity activism has gathered force,” continued the statement. “We are now at the point that group leaders around the world are being told they must support ‘male lactation.'”

Comedian and podcast host Russell Brand shared a video on social media discussing his first week living as a baptized Christian, in which he described the reawakening he has experienced since getting baptized.

Brand started his video by showcasing a crucifix and described the “incredible” baptism he had inside of his home. He also detailed how someone attending the ceremony injured his foot and had to get hospital treatment, with Brand joking that he went right from getting baptized to living out the Christian lifestyle of helping others.

“The main thing is that since it, there’s been a different connection,” Brand said. “I do see what an amazing gift it is.”

The podcast host noted how some people will prevent others from experiencing the feeling of awakening and questioned if this form of suppression is unique to Christianity. He added that some people want others to be controlled “by their material models” instead of experiencing the feeling of awakening that Christianity offers.

In yet another blow to DEI initiatives across the country, three white former executives with the Department of Education in New York City will soon receive a hefty payout after they had allegedly been demoted in favor of “less-qualified” employees “of color,” the New York Post reported.

Five years ago, Lois Hererra, Jaye Murray, and Laura Feijoo filed a lawsuit alleging that the city’s DOE had discriminated against them on the basis of their race, as Blaze News previously reported. The lawsuit originally sought $90 million in damages.

Hererra, a Harvard alumna who had become executive director of the Office of Safety and Youth Development following decades at the agency, had been demoted in favor of Mark Rampersant, a black man with a GED. Murray, a former executive director of the Office of Counseling Support Programs, was demoted three rungs and had to report to Rampersant at one point. Finally, Feijoo, a former senior supervising superintendent who once supervised all other DOE superintendents was passed over for an opening at deputy chancellor by one of her black subordinates, Cheryl Watson-Harris, who did not even have the license necessary for the position at the time she was hired.

Democratic Attorney General Letitia James of New York sued multiple crisis pregnancy centers on Monday over their promotion of the abortion pill reversal.

James targeted 11 crisis pregnancy centers in the state, accusing them of “misleading” pregnant women about whether medication abortion can be reversed, according to the court filing. James claimed that the centers, along with organization Heartbeat International, engaged in “deceptive acts or practices” and “false advertising.” (RELATED: NRA Scores Court Victory Against NY AG Letitia James)

“Abortions cannot be reversed. Any treatments that claim to do so are made without scientific evidence and could be unsafe,” James said in a Monday press release. “Heartbeat International and the other crisis pregnancy center defendants are spreading dangerous misinformation by advertising ‘abortion reversals’ without any medical and scientific proof.

Heartbeat International highlights on its website 17 cases from its “Abortion Pill Rescue Network,” which connects women who have taken an abortion pill with a medical provider to begin the reversal process.

ANALYSIS: Republican speakers absent at Ivy League universities, most Big Ten universities

Democrats will again outnumber Republicans as commencement speakers this spring, according to an analysis from The College Fix.

The Fix found similar results last year, after reviewing public statements, news articles, and political donations to determine party affiliation. The Fix reviewed the main graduation speakers at the Southeastern Conference, the Ivy League, and the Big Ten.

Four Republican speakers could be identified among the 36 colleges examined by The Fix. By contrast, The Fix identified 11 keynote speakers who are Democrats. Some universities have not announced their main speakers yet, do not have them, or select students. The analysis only looked at the university-wide ceremony or the undergraduate ceremonies, not those of individual colleges or graduate programs.

After the Biden administration released its new Title IX rule on April 19, it took less than two weeks for the Defense of Freedom Institute to file a lawsuit against it.

“We are asking the court to … basically stop the effect of the regulations for a variety of legal reasons,” says Robert Eitel, the institute’s co-founder and president. That’s because the rule change is “simply unlawful,” he explained.

Among the changes to Title IX, the Biden administration is attempting to redefine sex to include gender identity and sexual orientation. Title IX is an education amendment that was signed into law by President Richard Nixon in 1972 and requires there be equal opportunities for men and women in schools across the country.

Eitel says the Biden administration’s attempt to redefine sex in Title IX is “federal overreach.”

The states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, and Idaho filed the suit with the Washington-based Defense of Freedom Institute, a conservative nonprofit dedicated to providing policy and legal solutions within the spheres of education and the workforce.

The April 30 outreach at CVS near Baylor University is the 4th location for Pharmacy Outreach in Waco, Texas. Pro-Life Waco launched Pharmacy Outreach soon after CVS and Walgreens announced their intentions to enter the abortion industry in January of 2023. Regrettably, these corporations began filling chemical abortion prescriptions in March of 2024 in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Illinois, and Rhode Island.

The dreadful CVS and Walgreens decisions created thousands of potential venues for ongoing public square outreach. From pharmacy public rights-of-way we can simultaneously engage the pro-life faithful, the pro-abortion hostile, and, most importantly, the undecided of the “mushy middle”. Both chains operate in all 50 states with a combined 18,000 pharmacy locations.

Each CVS and Walgreens location has its pluses and minuses. We expected this CVS near Baylor to offer many opportunities to distribute our Chemical Abortion flyers, along with holding signs. The heavy stop-and-go traffic from 11:30 to 1 p.m. did not disappoint. During each stop-light cycle, five to ten cars were stationary next to “our” sidewalk.

The always energetic Lisa Muller Muñoz offered a smile and an abortion pill flyer to each of these drivers. Over 100 accepted, some with a brief (mostly friendly) chat. Lisa summed up her engagement time, “It’s an amazing experience doing the Lord’s work by sharing truth. It’s a joy when a person accepts a flyer and agrees to learn the details of chemical abortion.  I am encouraged when a traveler thanks us for being out there. It’s a brief koinonia of sorts.”

LifeNews is on TruthSocial. Please follow us here.

We hoped to interact with Baylor students. This happened as well. At lunchtime, many students drive to nearby fast-food restaurants. One was Anna Bjorklund. Our outgoing Melissa Manning recalls, “As Anna walked toward us wearing a Baylor t-shirt we wondered if she was with us or not. She spotted us while driving, was curious, and supported pro-life all the way. She promised to join us this summer and work for more pro-life support with Baylor student organizations in the fall. Making ourselves visible to the public is instant networking!”

CVS near Baylor will become Pro-Life Waco’s second monthly Pharmacy Outreach. This event will be on the last Wednesday of each month from 11:30 to 1 p.m. After our spirited initiative, PLW will provide lunch and fellowship at the nearby Panera Bread. See more about the past and the future of Pharmacy Outreach in Waco.

Pro-Life Waco is taking its commitment to Pharmacy Outreach nationwide. We will provide a free “start-up kit” to any individual or group willing to join the national collaboration (12 cities at this point) with pharmacy outreach on at least four occasions.

The Pharmacy Outreach kit features six large, corrugated plastic signs. The protest signs are 2’x2’ and 2’x4’, printed two-sided on corrugated plastic. You will also receive 100 copies and a PDF file of our Chemical Abortion flyer. Pharmacy Outreach is a powerful educational tool to challenge chemical abortion lies whether the source of the pills is pharmacies, mail orders, or abortion centers. See the details of the PLW Pharmacy Outreach offer that can bring a fast launch at CVS or Walgreens in your hometown.

A new report claims that the Biden Administration is attempting to implement federal regulations that will be difficult to reverse by a future president, as polls increasingly suggest that Joe Biden will lose the November election to former President Donald Trump.

According to the Daily Caller, the report says that President Trump plans to sign multiple resolutions under the 1996 Congressional Review Act if he wins a second term, aimed at reversing many of Biden’s regulations. In response, officials in the Biden White House are examining methods to make regulations more permanent or harder to undo.

“They’re all looking back to what happened in 2017 and thinking, ‘That could repeat itself in 2025,’” Steven Balla, co-director of George Washington University’s Regulatory Studies Center, told the Wall Street Journal.

“When re-elected, President Trump will immediately cut Joe Biden’s burdensome regulations, unleash our domestic energy industry, and implement a pro-worker agenda that will uplift all Americans,” said Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has launched an investigation into Special Counsel Jack Smith following recent admission that some of the evidence in President Trump’s ‘classified’ documents case was altered or manipulated after being seized by the FBI during its raid on Mar-a-Lago.

The Gateway Pundit reported that Jack Smith’s admission came in response to Trump’s co-defendant, Walt Nauta’s, legal team’s concerns about discrepancies in the evidence’s organization.

Walt Nauta, a former White House valet and Navy veteran who later served as a personal staffer at Mar-a-Lago and was indicted alongside Trump last year, claimed through his attorney that the order of items in the seized boxes did not match their scans provided during discovery.

In a late Friday filing, Smith conceded that the FBI had indeed moved documents around within the boxes that contained ‘classified’ information. This directly contradicts earlier Department of Justice (DOJ) assurances to the court that the contents’ arrangement had been preserved intact.

Washington (CNN) — House Speaker Mike Johnson is expected to confront a vote over his ouster in the coming days, a pivotal moment that presents a major leadership test for the Louisiana Republican even though he is expected to prevail.

House Democratic leaders have said that Democrats will vote to kill the effort led by GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, effectively ensuring Johnson won’t lose his job.

Johnson will meet privately with Greene at her request at 3:30 p.m. ET on Monday, according to sources familiar.

A failed vote will give Johnson an opportunity to argue that it is time to move on from the issue. But support from Democrats will open Johnson up to even more criticism from his right flank.

It’s not yet clear how many Republicans will vote against Johnson – the higher the number, the more of a blow it could prove to be to the speaker’s standing within the House GOP conference.

After Hamas terrorists agreed to a “softened” version of a ceasefire deal that is an unserious, deceptive ploy aimed at delaying Israel’s looming offensive in Rafah, the State Department refused to directly comment on the terms (pending a U.S. review) to which Hamas had agreed — but again insisted that the Biden administration’s “top priority” is to reach a “ceasefire agreement that will lead to the release of hostages” and allow a “surge of humanitarian assistance” into Gaza.

Note the subtle but significant rhetorical difference between a ceasefire that releases hostages and a ceasefire deal that will lead to the release of hostages. They’re not the same, and the Biden administration knows that.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said Monday that the Biden administration previously “made clear” to Hamas that it should “accept the offer” repeatedly made by Israel in recent weeks — the ceasefire offers so far rejected by Hamas while its U.S. based supporters in the halls of Congress and encampments on university grounds continue chanting “CEASEFIRE NOW.”

Seeming to put on his Hamas apologist hat, the State Department’s Miller then complained that the Biden administration has “not seen” a “humanitarian plan that is credible” or “implementable” for Israel to launch a military offensive to root out Hamas terrorists in their final stronghold of Rafah near the border with Egypt in Southern Gaza.

According to the State Department, “a military operation in Rafah right now would dramatically increase the suffering of the Palestinian people” and “would lead to an increase in loss of civilian life.” Never mind, apparently, the reality that Israel’s prosecution of the war started by Hamas on October 7 has seen IDF operations protect civilian lives on a level unseen in recent conflicts — including those in which the U.S. military is a belligerent.

There is a famous adage that when Republicans screw up, that is the story; when Democrats screw up, the Republican reaction is the story.

Legal Insurrection readers will recall our coverage of EcoHealth’s bat virus research in Wuhan and the history of its President Peter Daszak, as it pertains to the origins of the novel coronavirus that spread worldwide. As a reminder:

Daszak was in charge of organizing the infamous Lancet article used to assert the coronavirus was from a natural source and deem lab-leak proposals as conspiracy theories. He arranged for over 20 scientists to sign the document.

….Weren’t they even slightly suspicious when the person organizing the letter in The Lancet was none other than the deeply conflicted Dr. Peter Daszak, head of green nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance?

Daszak had been collaborating for 15 years with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which we know was conducting dangerous Frankenstein research, known as “gain of function,” on bat coronaviruses, which makes them more lethal and more infective to humans.

He co-authored papers with Shi Zhengli, the head of the Wuhan research team, and he funneled part of the $100 million in US government funding he received to her lab.

Yet despite his compelling vested interest to absolve the lab of involvement in the pandemic, Daszak drafted the Lancet letter and convinced 26 others to sign it, emails released under the Freedom of Information Act revealed last year.

Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has appeared on national television to promote wild conspiracy theories about President Donald Trump’s supporters.

During an appearance on MSNBC, Waters claimed that Trump supporters and “right-wing organizations” are currently “training up in the hills somewhere.”

According to Waters, they are preparing to launch an “attack” against “communities” if Democrat President Joe Biden beats Trump in the November presidential election.

85-year-old Waters warned the show’s viewers that “we better be careful about” Trump, who she claims is planning to unleash “violence” against the public.

The congresswoman made the comments during a discussion about the Democrats’ favorite fearmongering narrative.

According to Waters and the Left, Trump won’t accept the election result if he doesn’t win, just like Hillary Clinton in 2016.

“This is a man we better be careful about and I’ll tell you what I’m going to do, I’m going to ask the Justice Department and I’m going to ask the president to tell us what they’re going to do to protect this country against violence if he loses,” said Waters.

The House Rules Committee will consider a proposal late Monday afternoon that would prevent illegal aliens and other foreign nationals from skewing elections by shifting the apportionment of congressional seats and electoral college votes.

The “Equal Representation Act” would modify the Census Bureau’s questionnaire for each decennial census beginning in 2030 by requiring individuals to attest to their citizenship status on the form and then using that data to exclude foreign nationals from the count used to determine congressional and electoral college apportionment. Apportionment is derived from the number of residents in a particular area but does not currently differentiate legal citizens from foreigners who, in many cases, are illegal immigrants. A state can gain or lose congressional seats and electoral college votes based on the size of its population.

This means that millions of illegal aliens who have invaded the country can dilute the representation of American citizens by inflating the populations of the left-leaning areas to which they flock — even as American citizens flee those same states.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said there are no plans for President Joe Biden to visit any of the pro-Gaza protests taking place at universities across the country despite calls for him to do so from several lawmakers, including Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA).

Khanna said during a Sunday interview with CBS that Biden “should and will get out there on campuses” after condemning escalating violence at some protests while simultaneously calling for empathy for the people of Gaza. Lawmakers from both parties, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), have visited campuses amid the protests.

Jean-Pierre faced several questions about the protests during Monday’s press briefing, during which she continued that line of rhetoric.

Pressed on Columbia University’s decision to cancel its 2024 commencement ceremony following the on-campus protests, Jean-Pierre declared that “vandalism, trespassing, breaking windows, shutting down campuses, [and] forcing the cancellation of classes” do not mark peaceful protests, as the president had urged.

“It is unfortunate that a small group, a small group of people, went too far and cost their classmates this important event,” she added.

The Trump campaign and Republican National Committee (RNC) smashed March’s fundraising record and raised over $76 million in April, according to the RNC.

The RNC made the announcement following its Spring Finance Retreat, affirming that the two entities raised more than $76 million combined in April. That is over ten million more than their $65.6 million haul in March. That same month, RNC co-chair Lara Trump noted that the first major fundraising event with their joint fundraising group, Trump 47 Committee, raised $40 million in a single event.

“It took three presidents — Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and God bless us all, the current President of the United States, as hard as it is to say, Joe Biden — to raise $26 million at the glitzy Radio City event last week,” Lara Trump told Breitbart News Daily at the time.

Further, the RNC said in a release that more than 50 percent of the donations from April stem from small dollar donors.

“The Republican Party is turning up the heat and the American people are going all in to re-elect President Donald J. Trump and Republicans down the ballot in November,” the RNC said in a press release.

As president, Joe Biden has tried every trick he can to limit or eliminate Second Amendment rights, but a coalition of state attorneys general is fighting back.

For well over a year, the Biden administration has been looking to criminalize millions of gun owners who sell their privately owned firearms to another private citizen, thereby redefining common, everyday gun owners as “gun dealers.”

Now, Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is attempting to implement Biden’s sneaky, backdoor attack on law-abiding gun owners.

According to an April 12 report from the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, the 2022 Bipartisan Safer Communities Act made a subtle change in the definition of who can be considered a “gun dealer” by eliminating the language that once defined a “gun dealer” as someone who engages in repetitive sales of guns, ammunition or accessories with the “principal objective” of making a “livelihood or profit.”

The bill, which Biden signed into law on June 25, 2022, eliminates the “livelihood” portion of that definition, so that only the “profit” remains.
