New York City Mayor Eric Adams revealed that the possibility of former President Donald Trump being jailed in the state is being discussed between the mayor’s office and the New York City Department of Correction.

Adams said in a Tuesday press conference that the Department of Correction and Rikers Island would “be ready” in case Trump is jailed for violating Judge Juan Merchan’s gag order in his New York hush money trial.

The department’s commissioner “is prepared for whatever comes on Rikers Island, and I’m pretty sure she would be prepared to manage and deal with the situation,” Adams said.

“We have to adjust,” he said. “In this business, particularly around law enforcement, we have to adjust whatever comes our way, but we don’t want to deal with a hypothetical. But they’re professionals. They’ll be ready.”

The Democratic mayor referenced Harvey Weinstein’s recent transfer to the medical ward at Rikers Island to demonstrate the ability of the Department of Correction to adjust to high-profile cases.

Police in riot gear cleared out the University of Chicago pro-Hamas encampment around 4:45 AM CT.

But the mob returned, swarming the campus and starting a stand-off with the police:

Protesters locked arms and stood opposed to officers who the university called to disperse the encampment on campus that has been set up for more than a week. Police gave a final notice to students participating in the protest that they must leave or be arrested for criminal trespass, according to video on social media.

“Additionally, failure to immediately leave will result in disciplinary action as outlined in the Student Manual. You will be immediately placed on emergency interim leave of absence from the University,” the notice states.

A disturbing video of a pro-Hamas mob assaulting a Jewish man near the Met Gala in New York City Monday evening shows you exactly who many of these “mostly peaceful” pro-Hamas protesters across the nation truly are: violent, hate-filled extremists. At first, the man, who was wearing a Star of David head scarf, or sudra, and the mob of anti-Israel demonstrators yelled back and forth at each other, but then somebody ripped off his head scarf.

But that wasn’t enough. Then they started pummeling him. This would be the top story in the country if this had happened to any other minority, but because the man is pro-Israel, the mainstream media is mostly avoiding the beatdown.

Watch: (Warning—disturbing footage):

“Get the f*** outta here!” one guy can be heard yelling as the fracas heated up. The Jewish man was eventually able to escape and run away, but not before suffering a few serious blows as the mob of around a dozen people surrounded him and tried to prevent his getaway. The footage was taken by a witness who took the video to the local NYPD precinct, but it’s not clear if anyone has been charged for the assault.

The video was posted to social media by the Jew Hate Database, whose website explains their purpose:

In a world increasingly shadowed by the resurgence of Jew hatred since the October 7th attacks, the Jew Hate Database emerged as a beacon of vigilance and resilience. Within the first six weeks of our inception, we garnered over 60,000 followers, a testament to the urgent need for our mission… At our core, we are passionate Jews deeply committed to the welfare of our people and the continuity of our existence…

We stand as a line of defense, setting boundaries against Jew hatred, ensuring that such actions and rhetoric do not go unchecked.

During former President Donald Trump’s trial proceedings on Tuesday, a plane was seen flying over Manhattan towing a banner that reads, “WHEN U INDICT HIM YOU UNITE US. MAGA.”

The impressive stunt comes as Trump faces trial in New York City for allegedly falsifying business records pertaining to his hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels preceding the 2016 presidential election.

Buildings at Columbia, Cal Poly Humboldt and Pomona have also been taken over recently by anti-Israel activists

Pro-Palestinian Rhode Island School of Design students seized their administration building on Monday night and barricaded themselves in.

Campus leaders gave them a Tuesday morning deadline to disperse but the activists remain inside.

A video posted on X shows students shimmy food up with a rope ladder to feed the activist students, who demand the art school cut all financial ties with Israel and condemn the country publicly for alleged “genocide.” They’ve reportedly taken over the second story of the building, which houses the president’s office and other financial offices.

“A livestream by the organizers showed protesters gathered in a corridor on the second floor of the building, chanting ‘Free, free Palestine,’ as security guards inside a room appeared to prevent them from entering it. Videos showed other protesters gathered outside the building,” the New York Times reported.

The New York Police Dept. has reported finding some disturbing and dangerous things in the possession of the Nazi Hamas supporters infesting the campus at Columbia University.

It is clear these protesters arrived on the campus of the college prepared for terrorism.

Per Just The News:

Michael Kemper, a NYPD’s chief of transit, posted photos Friday of what police confiscated from the protesters.

“For those romanticizing the protests occurring on college campuses, ‘Death to America!’ is one sentiment that runs counter to what we believe in, what we stand for, and what many have fought for on behalf of this country,” Kemper stated on X. “And if you think the words written on this piece of paper are disturbing … you should hear the vile, disgusting, hateful, & threatening words coming out of the mouths of far too many of these so called ‘peaceful protestors.’”

Kemper posted a video of a pamphlet that stated, “Death to Israeli Real Estate” and “Death to America!” The pamphlet also stated, “DISRUPT/RECLAIM/DESTROY Zionist business interests everywhere!”

NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry posted on X photos of items he said the police confiscated from protesters who took over Hamilton Hall at Columbia University. The photo showed gas masks, ear plugs, helmets, goggles, tape, hammers, knives, ropes, and a book on terrorism. The book is by Charles Townshend, Professor of International History at Keele University in England. It was published in 2011 and is 161 pages.

The New York judge presiding over Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of former President Donald Trump has strictly limited the information a key witness for the Republican’s defense can testify about in court.

Bragg claims Trump violated the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) when his former attorney Michael Cohen paid pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged affair. According to Bragg, because the cash changed hands ahead of the 2016 election, it should have been publicly reported as a campaign expenditure.

Judge Juan Merchan, a financial supporter of Trump’s campaign opponent with a “rabid pro-Democrat bias,” has gone along with this plan by entertaining Bragg’s weak case and gagging Trump. Merchan further hindered Trump’s legal efforts by declaring former FEC Chairman Bradley Smith is only allowed to testify about limited aspects of his job.

Smith professionally enforced campaign finance laws including the one Bragg has chosen to target Trump over. He has long asserted that “almost anything a candidate does can be interpreted as intended to “influence an election” but “not every expense that might benefit a candidate is an obligation that exists solely because the person is a candidate.”

Students at Princeton University announced that they are going on a “hunger strike for Palestine.” Reading from her phone while standing in front of a tree on which the protest sign was hung, one of the keffiyeh-clad overall-wearing students asked others to join her. The students’ demands, however, have far less to do with the war in Israel, which is the excuse for their protest, and far more to do with their own protest.

“I’m inviting any people of conscience in the Princeton community, students, faculty, alumni, to participate with the striking students in a solidarity fast. In just the last few hours, we’ve had commitments from at least six people from Princeton Theological Seminary to participate in this solidarity fast, with more coming in by the hour,” she said.

“At the Seminary,” she said, reading a statement from her phone, “we’ve also been calling our school to disclose and divest for the last several years and want to join together with the students from the University in their hunger strike. Almost every faith tradition in the world engages in the spiritual practice of fasting. The three major Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Islam and Christianity, are no exception to this.”

“Jesus himself said,” she continued, giving a version of Matthew 17:21, “‘of some evils in the world, they require both prayer and fasting,’ and we are here to live into that word.”

Only a few days before, a group of Princeton students stood before the same sign and tree, also draped in keffiyehs, which have become the fashion statement of the Gaza camp protesters. There were two women among the group of seven students, one of whom wore traditional Islamic dress and the other who wore a facemask. Each student ran a portion of their prepared statement from their phones.

Survey comes after federal judge shouted down on campus

More than one third of Stanford University students say using physical violence to stop a speech is acceptable in at least some circumstances, according to a new report.

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression conducted the survey after federal Judge Kyle Duncan’s speech on campus was shouted down last year.  The report evaluated students’ perspectives about free speech on campus and protests in the aftermath of the event.

FIRE Chief Research Advisor Sean Stevens told The College Fix the research found “considerably higher” support for canceling a speaker among Stanford students when compared to their peers nationwide.

The survey found 54 percent of Stanford students believed Duncan’s speech to the law school’s Federalist Society chapter should have been canceled by the administration. Additionally, 75 percent said shouting down a speaker to prevent them from speaking was acceptable in some circumstances.

A last-second settlement has been reached in Dominion Voting Systems’ historic defamation lawsuit against Fox News, the parties announced Tuesday in court.

“The parties have resolved their case,” Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis said.  “Your presence here… was extremely important. And without you, the parties would not have been able to resolve their situation,” the judge told the jurors, before dismissing them.

The settlement was apparently brokered while the trial was on the brink of opening statements in Wilmington, Delaware.

After swearing in the jury earlier Tuesday, an unexplained hours-long delay paused proceedings in court, which yet again triggered rampant speculation that a deal was quietly in the works.

The top lawyers for Arkansas and Missouri on Tuesday announced the filing of a lawsuit with four other states, including Nebraska, against the U.S. Department of Education’s change to Title IX that, among other things, codifies protections for LGBTQ+ students.

The federal rule, announced in April, protects students and school employees from sex-based discrimination, requires schools to offer support for people who make complaints, sets guidelines for schools and includes transgender students in the law’s protections. It is expected to go into effect Aug. 1.

The 60-page lawsuit alleges the education department has exceeded its authority by rewriting the statute. It also claims the rule violates the First Amendment, is arbitrary and capricious by going against “decades” of understanding of Title IX and presents “an actual controversy” by redefining “sex” to include gender identity.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, seeks to ultimately stop the federal rule’s effective date.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra said that the company will push forward with its operations in China despite a whopping loss in the country in the first quarter of 2024.

Barra recently visited China and promised that GM remained committed to the market, which has been a mainstay for the manufacturer since 1997. A $106 million loss in the first quarter in China was just GM’s third quarterly loss in the far east in the last 15 years, CNBC reported, but the company announced that it expects the numbers to turn around.

GM CFO Paul Jacobson reportedly told investors that the company expects similar or slightly lower than $446 million in profit, which is what it garnered in China in 2023.

However, 2023 was the lowest year for equity income for GM in China since at least 2012, but this has come at a much smaller market share. GM’s percentage of the market has shrunk from nearly 15% down to 8.6% in the last decade, lowering expectations.

Still, 2023’s numbers were more than $230 million lower than 2022, despite only losing 1.2% of the market share in that time. Comparatively, GM’s income in China stayed relatively the same between 2014 and 2018 despite its market share dropping by about 1%.

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) believes that “young black kids growing up in the Bronx don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is.”

“They don’t know,” she added. “They don’t know these things.”

This condescension toward black people has always simmered just beneath the surface of the Democrat Party (the party that fought a Civil War to hold onto their slaves, and then created the Ku Klux Klan, Jim Crow, and segregation). But earlier this month, it bubbled and then burst to the surface through Hochul’s ignorant and racist mouth.

You can watch the full video of her appearance at the “Milken Institute Fireside Chat” here. Her racist remarks are heard at about the seven-minute mark… Afterward comes my favorite part… Watch as Hochul, after spewing racism, is allowed to go on without being challenged by the event moderator, the far-left Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart. He’s such a good dog, he allows a white woman to get away with a blatant act of racism without challenging her, pushing back, or even mentioning it.

In a speech on the House floor Monday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) accused the Biden regime of holding Former Trump adviser Peter Navarro as a political prisoner, denying him access to his lawyer and refusing to allow anyone to interview him.

Navarro, 74, began serving a four month prison sentence on March 19 after a jury found him guilty of failing to respond to congressional subpoenas for documents and testimony in the U.S. House’s partisan investigation into the events at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Gaetz said that after five weeks of trying, he was directly informed by Colette S. Peters, Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, that his request to interview Navarro would be denied because the prisoner is “too notorious” to be interviewed by a member of Congress.

“John Gotti was interviewed when he was in prison,” Gaetz noted. “The QAnon Shaman was interviewed in prison. Director Peters HERSELF brought NBC News THROUGH PRISONS to showcase the work of corrections that’s being done!” he exclaimed.

The New York Times has released a trove of raw government data on the unaccompanied alien children who have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in recent years. Among over 10,000 pages of information is data on the number of children who crossed the border into America without an adult and then were handed over to someone other than a family member.

From January 2015 through May 2023, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released tens of thousands of minors who crossed the border illegally to sponsors who weren’t an immediate or distant relative, raising concerns about human trafficking and forced labor.

“More children are crossing the border on their own than ever before, and thousands are ending up doing dangerous, illegal jobs,” New York Times reporter Hannah Dreier wrote on X in a thread sharing the numbers with the public.

The Times sued the government to gain access to the records, which reveal more than 550,000 minors crossed the border illegally between 2015, halfway through Barack Obama’s second term as president, through May 2023, about two years and four months into Joe Biden’s presidency. From 2017 through 2020, Donald Trump was president.

The first criminal trial of a former US president is underway, with Donald Trump facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to hush-money payments allegedly made in 2016 to cover up an affair he had with adult film star Stormy Daniels. Here’s the latest—the key updates and absurd moments—from the historic trial.

Stormy Daniels, the porn star actress whose sexual encounter with Donald Trump is at the center of the former president’s hush-money trial, took the witness stand on Tuesday, offering lurid testimony about their relationship.

Daniels told the jury that Trump had said he and his wife, Melania, do not sleep in the same room. And that the former president compared once compared her to his daughter, Ivanka. “She’s smart and blonde and beautiful and people underestimate her as well,” Daniels recalled Trump telling her.

Andrew Dudum, the CEO of telehealth company Hims & Hers, is facing backlash after expressing his desire to hire students who protested against Israel on college campuses. In the immediate aftermath of his comments, the company’s stock value plunged, wiping out nearly $210 million in market value.

The controversy began when Dudum, in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), stated his willingness to employ students who participated in protests against Israel and faced disciplinary action from their universities. He framed the act as “moral courage” greater than a “college degree.” Encouraging protesters to continue their activism, Dudum said that there are many companies and CEOs eager to hire them, linking the post to the company’s job openings.

This caused outrage among many stakeholders, especially as protest actions were often linked to antisemitism and intimidation. The market quickly reacted. Hims & Hers stock fell 8% on May 3, as investors rushed to distance themselves from Dudum’s controversial comments. The company’s market value decreased from $2.62 billion to $2.41 billion in a matter of hours according to The New York Post.

Anti-Israel protesters at the University of Chicago claim that the university has agreed to an initial set of demands put forth by anti-Israel protesters who have set up an encampment at the school, but a statement put out by the school casts doubt on that claim.

In a joint post on Instagram, the National Students for Justice in Palestine, Palestinian Youth Movement, US Palestinian Community Network, and UChicago United for Palestine said the college has agreed to one item in order to start negotiations with the camp.

“As a precondition for meeting with administration, the power of our encampment forced the University to establish a Gaza Scholars at Risk Initiative, which will bring 8 at-risk Palestinian scholars to work and study at UChicago,” the groups’ statement said but added, “We’re appalled to have to pull the University’s teeth for them to protect not only academic freedom but individual human lives.”

Last week, a group of heroic Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill saved an American flag from being torn down a desecrated by a mob of anti-Semitic/pro-Hamas student extremists. But in the week since the incident occurred, the flagship morning and evening newscasts of ABC and CBS ignored the incident, while NBC only gave their heroism in the face of evil anti-Americanism a fleeting eight seconds on NBC Nightly News two nights later.

To be fair, the broadcast networks were too busy whining about the pro-Hamas encampment at Columbia University being busted by the NYPD. ABC in particular was also busy lying about the UCLA encampment being “largely peaceful.” And CBS was busy worrying that the protests could hurt President Biden’s reelection chances.

ABC and CBS might argue that they thought that the flag-saving incident didn’t rise to a level that would allow it to be considered a national story, but that’s debunked by the fact that at least NBC gave it a few seconds.

Leftists love to believe that churches should be run like clubs — the majority rules. So they’ll make a big deal out of polls, like the Pew Research Center finding six of ten Catholics disagree with the church’s opposition to abortion. They do not ask self-identified Catholics whether they actually go to church on Sundays, or if they stopped the minute they became an adult. You would get a more conservative result.

On Tuesday, NPR’s newscast All Things Considered brought on reporter Katia Riddle to channel the views of pro-abortion Catholics, but what made it more shocking is touting a pro-abortion nun — someone who is financially supported by the Church, and who should be accepting of all the Church teachings.

KATIA RIDDLE: Today, Missouri is replete with Catholic churches, iconography and people like Sister Barbara.

SISTER BARBARA: I certainly did not intend to, you know, become a sister or a nun.

RIDDLE: She’s standing outside her modest apartment, wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. She grew up Catholic but wasn’t all that religious. In her 20s, she describes a kind of love affair she fell into with Catholicism.

If there’s a competition for the most unhinged, unglued, wackadoodle conspiracy theorist in the United States House of Representatives, Maxine Waters has to be, if not in first place, then at least in the top three. A Western New York judge on Tuesday invalidated a ballot measure known as the Equal Rights Amendment that would have codified reproductive rights and protections against other discrimination into the state constitution.

State Supreme Court Justice Daniel Doyle, a Rochester-area Republican, ruled that the state Legislature did not follow correct procedure when it passed the measure last year.

“The constitution is the supreme will of the people,” he wrote. “Its amendment should be undertaken by strict adherence to the will of the people.”

The ruling deals a blow to Democrats’ attempt to bring the issues before voters and boost turnout in November, when New Yorkers will vote on a handful of competitive House seats that could determine control of the chamber.

Gov. JB Pritzker unexpectedly moved away last week from his long-standing opposition to taxing services, saying he didn’t want to start taking ideas off the table as lawmakers search for ways to fund and reform the Chicago region’s mass transit system. A major business group predictably pushed back.

As you may know, Chicago area’s mass transit agencies are facing a $730 million “fiscal cliff” in 2026. The federal government’s COVID-era subsidies will expire that year. Also, ridership has declined as service worsens, operating costs have increased and average fare prices have fallen.

According to a report last year from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, imposing a service tax could be part of the solution. The CMAP report claimed adding a service tax to the state’s existing 6.25 percent state tax rate could generate $1.1 to $1.9 billion in 2026. Some legislators are proposing a $1.5 billion annual funding increase for transit, as part of a consolidation effort.

A new report from the World Bank called for resources to be allocated away from producing red meat and dairy and instead focus production on low-carbon foods, which could lead to an increase in prices for some foods.

In a new paper, the World Bank noted wealthy nations should switch from high production of red meat and dairy, which produce high levels of carbon dioxide and are dangerous for accelerating climate change, to producing more foods such as chicken, fruits, and vegetables. It argued the switch to chicken and plant-based production is one of the more cost-effective ways to curb climate change.

“We have to stop destroying the planet as we feed ourselves,” Julian Lampietti, the World Bank’s manager for global engagement in the bank’s agriculture and food global practice, told Politico.

Litigation against pharmaceutical giant Merck regarding one of its common childhood vaccines has lingered in the court system for more than a decade even though there has been seemingly little dispute about the veracity of the fraud claims against it.

Blaze News reviewed court documents related to the Merck cases and spoke with one attorney as well as several individuals who have put together a feature film, “Protocol 7,” about the allegations made in them. According to this evidence, it appears that Merck knew about problems with the mumps component of its measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine, often referred to as MMR II, in the 1990s and has spent significant resources in the decades since to cover up those problems rather than admit the truth or improve the vaccine’s quality.

Merck’s attorneys did not respond to Blaze News’ request for comment.

A federal judge Monday allowed a lawsuit aimed at stopping Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall from prosecuting those who help Alabamians seek out-of-state abortion care to move forward.

U.S. District Judge Myron H. Thompson denied Marshall’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit, upholding the plaintiff’s claims of right to travel and limits on the extraterritorial application of state law.

“The claim will not be dismissed because (a) the right to travel includes the right both to move physically between states and to do what is lawful in those states, and (b) prosecuting those who facilitate lawful out-of-state abortions, as the attorney general threatens to do, would violate that right,” Thompson wrote in the ruling.

A leading pro-life group tells LifeNews.com today that it refuses to follow a new Biden rule forcing employers to promote abortions.

In December 2022, Congress passed the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), a pro-life bill that aimed to make the workplace more accessible to pregnant women by requiring employers to provide accommodations to pregnant workers under The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This bill was implemented at the end of June 2023.

However, the Biden administration is manipulating the bill’s language to require that employers provide accommodations for abortion.

The PWFA requires employers to provide “reasonable accommodations to a worker’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation will cause the employer an undue hardship.” However, the bill does not define what is considered a “reasonable accommodation,” or what is considered a “related medical condition.”
