The Dems plan to use “Hand clappers, red cards, and various other props” to dramatize their displeasure with Trump during his speech on Tuesday evening. They’re also going to hold up strongly worded signs.
If that’s the best they got, maybe they should just stay home.
The Democrats also plan to demonstrate their displeasure with Elon Musk and Donald Trump by deliberately blowing up the budget negotiations, thus forcing a government shutdown. The transparent ploy to try and make Trump look bad while portraying themselves as the heroes who stand up against healthcare and other cuts is how the Democrats believe they can get back in the game.
They need to do something. Musk and Trump have been steamrolling the Democrats by “flooding the zone” with so many cuts, executive orders, and other actions that the Democrats haven’t been able to catch their breaths. One “outrage” after another has them on their back foot, trying to respond.

The theme of the speech is titled “The Renewal of the American Dream,” and will feature four sections according to Fox News: accomplishments from Trump’s second term thus far at home and abroad, what the Trump administration has done for the economy, the president’s renewed push for Congress to pass additional funding for border security, and the president’s plans for peace around the globe.
Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren, and Cory Booker (D-NJ) all delivered a ‘preview’ rebuttal of sorts to Trump this morning that has backfired.
As one will see, they have posted a silly video where they copy each other nearly word-for-word. It opens with Trump vowing to bring down prices starting on Day One before cutting to the Democrats launching tired attacks on him.

Former Democratic New York governor Andrew Cuomo announced Saturday the launch of his bid to become the next mayor of New York City.
Cuomo, who resigned from office in 2021 after being accused of sexually harassing more than a dozen women — including some of his staff members — began considering entering the mayoral race a week prior to the announcement, CBS News reported. He joins the race involving several opponents including the incumbent mayor, Eric Adams, who was indicted on federal corruption charges Sept. 26, 2024.
The Trump administration’s Department of Justice dropped bribery charges levied against Adams on Feb. 10, 2025. In addition to a leadership crisis involving top Adams administration officials, the city faces issues such as high rent, crime and providing migrants with resources.
Cuomo called the city “out of control” in his 17-minute announcement posted online.
“We know that today our New York City is in trouble. You feel it when you walk down the street and try not to make eye contact with a mentally ill homeless person or when the anxiety rises up in your chest as you’re walking down into the subway. You see it in the empty storefronts, the graffiti, the grime, the migrant influx, the random violence,” he said. “The city just feels threatening, out of control and in crisis.”

The Center Square — The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis released its Personal Consumption Expenditure Index, a key marker of inflation, which showed an increase of 0.3% last month.
Since inflation nearly always rises, what economists look for is not whether or not it rose, but how quickly it rose. These latest numbers came in as experts expected.
“This was as expected, consistent with a very gradual slowing, and ~2.5% underlying inflation,” Harvard economic professor and former advisor to President Barack Obama, Jason Furman, wrote on X.
The index rose 2.5% from the same time last year, 2.6% when excluding food and energy costs. Economists had hoped inflation would have come down more by now, but the figures are still far lower than the rapid inflation rates seen during the Biden administration.
“Nothing in these data change the narrative much. Inflation appears to be gently slowing and that could give optimists hope that it will continue to do so,” Furman added. “But core inflation is also stuck above 2.5% — much higher than the 2.1% that forecasters had expected just a year ago.”
