In 2022, the Pentagon said it would pay for service members’ abortion-related travel. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that the overturning of Roe v. Wade, along with pro-life laws in some states, would affect “readiness, recruiting, and retention implications” for the U.S. military. Therefore, service members and their defendants would be reimbursed for expenses incurred when seeking induced abortions to intentionally end the lives of their preborn children.
After President Donald Trump was inaugurated for the second time in January, he issued an executive order reinforcing the Hyde Amendment, which prevents federal dollars from funding most abortions. As a result, the DOD released a memo confirming it would no longer fund abortion-related travel.
Earlier in March, the Navy announced it would halt abortion-related leave and funding for abortion travel, following the DOD directive. Now, in a memo, the Coast Guard has also confirmed that abortion travel expenses will not be reimbursed, and Coast Guardsmen will not be granted administrative leave for abortion.

One of the greatest political books I’ve ever read was written almost thirty years ago by the late, great Robert Bork, the brilliant jurist who was kept off the of the Supreme Court in 1987 by a couple of lying scumbag United States Senators named Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden. Yeah, that’s a painful reminder that the younger, semi-coherent (he was always a little off) Biden was just as bad for America as the drooling spaz who spent the last four years autopenning the country into oblivion.
The book was titled “Slouching Towards Gomorrah: Modern Liberalism and American Decline.” As far as prophetic political tomes written in my adult lifetime go, it was surpassed only by Mark Steyn’s “America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It.”
The thing that stuck with me the most when I read “Slouching Towards Gomorrah” shortly after it was published was Bork’s warning about the growing, dangerous role that liberal activist judges would play in wreaking havoc here in the United States. There were already signs of that when the book was published in the late ’90s. However, what we’re dealing with today makes Bork look like the second coming of Nostradamus.
We’ve been subjected to the tawdry spectacle of activist judges doing whatever they wish with the law in order to keep Donald Trump from returning to the presidency. Since that didn’t work and he’s once again President Trump, the hyperactive, extrajudicial loons are throwing tantrums in an effort to thwart his agenda.

While this is encouraging for the GOP, history serves as a reminder that despite similarly bleak numbers, Bill Clinton still won the presidency in 1992.
An NBC News poll released on Sunday found that only 27% of respondents have a positive view of the Democratic Party—the lowest rating since 1990. Among them, just 7% described their views as ‘very’ positive.
That same day, a CNN poll found that 29% of respondents had a “favorable” view of the Democratic Party—a level not seen since 1992. For context, when President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, just two weeks after the January 6 Capitol riot, the party’s favorability stood at 49%.
These results are certainly encouraging for Republicans.
