A former Republican Senator just upturned the election landscape for one particular seat in the U.S. Senate.
And he did so in more ways than one — possibly with the direction and support of President Trump.
I say possibly, because that endorsement hasn’t been publicly announced yet. Though White House meetings have taken place which reportedly included President Trump. (More on that as we get into this.)
The Trump administration and House Republicans have accused Democrats of “celebrating” the government shutdown after Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) admitted that it is one of the “few leverage times we have.”
“I mean, shutdowns are terrible, and of course there will be, you know, families that are going to suffer,” Clark, the No. 2 House Democrat, told Fox News. “We take that responsibility very seriously, but it is one of the few leverage times we have.”
Allies of President Donald Trump are pressuring Indiana state lawmakers to vote on a redistricting proposal after a key state leader predicted the measure would fail.
A spokesperson for Rodric Bray, the Indiana Senate’s president pro tempore, told Politico Wednesday morning that “the votes aren’t there for redistricting,” prompting a number of heavyweight Trumpworld figures to hint at political consequences for Indiana Republicans if they don’t redraw the state’s map for the 2026 elections.
President Donald Trump has announced initiatives to expand access to in vitro fertilization and reduce associated costs — as each round of IVF can cost $12,000 to $25,000 — and one round is often not all it takes.

Narco-terrorists intending to bring poison to our shores, will find no safe harbor anywhere in our hemisphere. Just as Al Qaeda waged war on our homeland, these cartels are waging war on our border and our people. There will be no refuge or forgiveness—only justice.
Christians in Turkey are reportedly being removed from the country because they pose a “national security threat.”
During remarks given at a human rights conference in Warsaw on October 13, Lidia Rieder, a legal expert for Alliance Defending Freedom International, said that Christians are being targeted by Turkey’s government.
“Türkiye’s labeling of peaceful Christian residents as ‘security threats’ is a clear misuse of law and an attack on freedom of religion or belief,” Rieder said. “When governments manipulate administrative or immigration systems to exclude people based solely on their faith, it undermines both the rule of law and the very principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence that the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) was founded to protect.”

And I don’t say that because I’m calling for violence; I’m saying that because the people have every right to defend themselves against masked, unidentified gunmen.”

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith is defending his decision to subpoena the private phone records of multiple Republican lawmakers during his 2023 “investigation” into President Donald Trump, insisting the move was “entirely proper” and consistent with Justice Department policy.
In a letter sent to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on Tuesday, Smith’s attorneys claimed the records were “narrowly tailored” and “carefully targeted” as part of the FBI’s “Arctic Frost” probe into what prosecutors alleged was Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election.
“As described by various Senators, the toll data collection was narrowly tailored and limited to the four days from January 4, 2021, to January 7, 2021,” Smith’s lawyers wrote.

FRESNO, CA — The Fresno County Board of Supervisors has approved a steep increase in fees for concealed carry (CCW) permits, raising new concerns among Second Amendment advocates that the rising cost of lawful carry is pricing some citizens out of their right to self-defense.
On October 21, 2025, the Board voted to amend the county’s Master Schedule of Fees for the Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator’s Office. The changes include a 65% increase for new CCW permits — from $115 to $190 plus state fees — and a 200% increase for renewals, which will now cost $75 plus state fees. The modification or add-on fee remains at $10 per permit.
Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Oscar Health are among health insurers expanding their market footprint selling individual health insurance under the Affordable Care Act despite the lack of commitment from Congress to tax credits that would make policies more affordable.
While the costs of these health plans could increase 100% or more if Congress doesn’t extend tax credits beyond this year, several major health insurers are expanding into new geographic areas and offering more health plan options for next year.

This has already happened at more than one school over the last several weeks.
Tulane University delays approval of TPUSA chapter revival
A Louisiana university appears to be attempting to hamper students’ efforts to revive a conservative student group on campus.
Students at Tulane University recently applied to reestablish a chapter of Turning Point USA, but were immediately met with obstacles, according to an article in The Tulane Hullabaloo, Tulane’s school newspaper.
“As of Fall 2025, Tulane University is temporarily pausing new applications for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) while we conduct a comprehensive review of all currently active organizations, including those affiliated with national or international partners,” the school announced in a statement on its website. “This review ensures that all RSOs remain aligned with Tulane’s Non-Discrimination Policy, Title VI and Title IX protections, and our shared commitment to equitable student participation.”

How is it possible that New York City, America’s leading city of capitalism, finance, and business, could elect a mayoral candidate, Zhoran Mamdani, who, while known to identify as a democratic socialist, has an easily verifiable hard-core Marxist background. Mamdani’s academic life was immersed in Marxism, embracing the analytical framework of class struggle, oppression, labor and power structures, and historical materialism. His studies and work also included Leninist perspectives on colonialism and post-colonialism. In addition to Marx and Lenin, Mamdani embraced leftist figures such as Frantz Fanon and Antonio Gramsci, whose ideas on cultural hegemony, colonialism and underdevelopment are aligned with Marxist critiques.

The Maine Democrat, already reeling from a wave of backlash over old social media posts, now says he’ll have the ink removed and insists he had “no idea” of its connection to Nazi iconography.
“It was not until I started hearing from reporters and DC insiders that I realized this tattoo resembled a Nazi symbol,” Platner said in a statement to POLITICO. “I absolutely would not have gone through life having this on my chest if I knew that — and to insinuate that I did is disgusting. I am already planning to get this removed.”

Several Democratic Senators praised the speech, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Senators Andy Kim of New Jersey, Tina Smith of Minnesota, and Chris Van Hollenof Maryland.
White House Spokeswoman Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital, “Democrats will do anything except vote to open the government. A useless overnight floor speech that no one watched will do nothing to help the millions of Americans who are missing paychecks, losing out on important benefits, or being otherwise harmed by the Democrat’s decision to shut down the government over free health care for illegal aliens.”
