Democrat Adelita Grijalva emerged triumphant in the Arizona’s 7th Congressional District special election to fill the vacancy left by her father, Rep. Raul Grijalva, who died in March.

Grijalva’s victory will likely provide the 218th vote necessary to force a vote on Massie’s bill to compel the federal government to release all of its files on Epstein and his sex abuse, which Massie says implicates powerful individuals.

Massie, alongside Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., has spearheaded a discharge petition, a special legislative tool used to circumvent House leadership and force a vote.

The petition currently has the signature of every House Democrat, as well as Republican Reps. Massie, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, and Nancy Mace of South Carolina.

Grijalva told CNN that the Epstein files issue was important on the campaign trail.

According to Hillary Clinton, “We have got to stop demonizing each other” and “We have got to stop with the finger-pointing and the scapegoating.” Yet immediately afterward, she asserted that most of the hate in the country today is coming from the right—contradicting her own call to end demonization just moments before.

There are plenty of problems with what Hillary Clinton just said. Not only is it contradictory in the moment, but it also runs counter to much of what she’s been saying over the past eight years.

Firstly, I’ve scoured the entirety of the internet, and I’m struggling to find anyone actually trying to “rewrite slavery from history.” Ironically, it seems more like the left that wants to reshape historical narratives. For instance, they often overlook the fact that it was Southern Democrats who fought—and died—to uphold slavery. They also seem to prefer that people forget they were the ones who opposed the Civil Rights Act and that they were historically associated with the KKK. Nevertheless, I think most readers can see clearly who’s trying to rewrite history—and it certainly isn’t the political party that was founded to end slavery.

As she said, rewriting history “does not make it go away,” and the sooner she follows her own advice, the better off she’ll be.

Secondly, it only took me 30 seconds to find at least 10 clips of Hillary demonizing the side that didn’t vote for her.

A sniper who killed at least two migrants and wounded several others in a shooting at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility has been identified as Joshua Jahn, 29, the Daily Mail can reveal.

The bloodbath unfolded at the facility in the Texas city shortly after 7am CT Wednesday morning, when the gunman targeted migrants on an unmarked transport van before killing himself.

Multiple law enforcement sources confirmed the identity of the gunman as Jahn, and ICE said in a statement that the sniper ‘fired indiscriminately’.

The victims were ICE detainees, and no law enforcement were injured in the shooting.

A new photo released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation related to a deadly shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas, Texas, reveals anti-ICE messages were scrawled on shell casings meant to take out agents.

Early on Wednesday morning, a lone gunman opened fire on an ICE facility, with the messages on the shell casings explaining why their place of work was under fire. The gunman, described in initial reports as a white male, shot himself after officers responding to the incident confronted him.

According to ICE Director Todd Lyons, the shooter used a sniper rifle to attack the facility. During a press conference, FBI Special Agent in Charge R. Joseph Rothrock stated that the detention center, located in Dallas, Texas, was likely targeted due to the suspect’s hatred for ICE and their mission to enforce immigration laws.

“What I can also tell you is that early evidence that we’ve seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature,” he told reporters. The incident at the Dallas facility is the second in Texas this year.

The U.S. Secret Service has arrested a man in the nation’s capitol for allegedly pointing a laser at Marine One while President Donald Trump was on board, an incident the agency said could have resulted in a midair collision.

In an affidavit on Sept. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, a Secret Service agent said he encountered the suspect, identified as Jacob Samuel Winkler, in the early hours of Sept. 20 while patrolling the secure area near Constitution Avenue NW. At the time, Marine One was airborne, carrying the president southbound from the White House South Grounds and crossing over The Ellipse.

The agent reported seeing the suspect walking shirtless along the south sidewalk of Constitution Avenue, “talking to himself and being loud.” Because the area was poorly lit, the agent shone a flashlight on him. In apparent retaliation, Winkler allegedly pointed a red laser at the agent’s face, briefly disorienting him. As this occurred, Marine One flew low and directly above where the two stood.

“The rotor noise was loud, and the aircraft appeared large overhead,” the agent wrote. The agent said that as he approached, Winkler looked up, aimed the same red laser pointer toward Marine One, and activated the beam.

Doing so posed “a risk of flash blindness and pilot disorientation,” particularly during low-level flight near the Washington Monument, as well as other helicopters operated by the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Park Police, the agent told the judge.

Investigators cite searches such as “most effective way to silently kill someone,” “how to break glass quietly,” and “countries least likely to extradite to the US.” They say Roske purchased the handgun and accessories in late May 2022, practiced at a range, researched target addresses, and attempted to wipe devices and delete accounts before traveling. US President Donald Trump has clinched $12 billion in trade deals with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan amid a push to deepen economic ties with the strategic Central Asian region.

Uzbekistan agreed to buy 22 787 airplanes from Chicago-based Boeing for more than $8 billion, Trump said in a September 22 post on Truth Social.

“We will continue to work together on many more items!” Trump said in the post.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan signed an agreement to buy 300 US locomotives as well as other rail equipment from Pennsylvania-based Wabtec Corporation for $4.2 billion. The US Commerce Department described it as the largest rail deal in U.S. history.

“This landmark deal advances US manufacturing jobs and accelerates growth, opportunity, and connectivity in America and Central Asia,” Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said during a signing ceremony in New York with Kazakh President Qasym-Zhomart Toqaev.

Trump earlier in the day spoke by phone with Toqaev, who is in the United States to attend the UN General Assembly.

It’s an annual scenario where one party invokes leverage over must-pass legislation, but only this time, the usual party roles are reversed.

Democrats are betting that Americans will blame President Donald Trump and Republicans. Although Republicans control both chambers of Congress, they still require bipartisanship to overcome the 60-vote Senate threshold to pass a short-term funding bill. Unless more funding is approved, the federal government will shut down on Oct. 1.

“They who run the Legislative Branch usually get blamed in the eyes of voters when something goes awry or there’s a shutdown of any kind,” said Jon Reinish, a Democratic strategist and former aide to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who now chairs Senate Democrats’ campaign arm.

“What matters is if there is a shutdown and all of a sudden your benefit checks stop coming,” Reinish added.

But there’s also a recent precedent suggesting that the party that supports extraneous policy riders is typically seen as responsible for shutdowns and emerges on the losing political end without significant wins. Republicans were bruised from the longest shutdown in U.S. history, which occurred in Trump’s first term and lasted 35 days, after the president failed to get any additional money to construct more of the U.S.-Mexico border wall in 2018 when Republicans controlled Congress.

SANTA CLARA, CA — The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA), and several individuals have filed a lawsuit against the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, challenging what they describe as unconstitutional concealed carry permit requirements.

Filed as Blank v. Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, the case takes aim at both the high costs and the mandatory psychological exam imposed on applicants seeking a concealed carry permit. According to the plaintiffs, the county’s fee structure effectively places the right to carry out of reach for many law-abiding citizens.

“Fees this extreme for the application of a simple permit can only be in place for one reason – to keep the peaceable citizens of Santa Clara from exercising their Second Amendment rights,” said SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut. He described the system as a “pay-to-play scheme” that discriminates against those unable to afford the costs.

The complaint alleges that Santa Clara County has created a “wealth qualification” to replace what was once a political patronage system for issuing permits, ultimately suppressing residents’ ability to exercise their constitutional rights.

Now that Charlie Kirk has been laid to rest, it’s back to work for Turning Point USA. Their first event was at the University of Minnesota, starring Michael Knowles. Yes, in Minneapolis. Yes, in Ilhan Omar’s district, in Tampon Tim Walz’s state. It appears they beat out Berkley, CA, and Park Slope, NY to host the first TPUSA return event.

As we’ve come to expect whenever someone right-of-center stands on stage at a college campus and answers questions from students, the entire idea is threatening and makes people feel unsafe. Although I must admit, for the first TPUSA event back, I was expecting a little more energy from the haters.

Maybe they sent the A-team to the local ABC affiliate to protest Jimmy Kimmel’s extended weekend off. Leaving only the B-team to protest Knowles.

President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice weighed in Monday against the ban on high-powered firearms that Illinois and Gov. JB Pritzker passed after the Highland Park Fourth of July mass shooting in 2022 but found itself on the defensive as an appellate court justice grilled an assistant attorney general about whether “facts matter” as she tried to justify the administration’s position.

In arguing before the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, Harmeet Dhillon, the U.S. Justice Department’s assistant attorney general for civil rights, said the nation has a “strong interest” in ensuring that the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms is “not relegated to a second-class right” and criticized claims from state officials that certain guns covered by the ban are suited more for military operations than routine self-defense.

But Judge Frank Easterbrook interrupted Dhillon early during the five minutes the court allowed her to speak even though the federal government is not a party to the case. Easterbrook noted the legal challenge from state officials resulted from a ruling by a district court in southern Illinois that determined the ban was unconstitutional, while a court in northern Illinois previously ruled a similar ban was legally sound.

“Suppose the (southern Illinois) district court had found every contested issue of fact in favor of the state. Would that affect your review of the statute’s constitutionality?” asked Easterbrook, who was appointed to the bench in the 1980s by Republican President Ronald Reagan.

As Dhillon began answering by saying, “It would not, your honor,” Easterbrook fired back, “So you don’t think the facts matter?”
