The United States has deployed three Aegis guided-missile destroyers to the coast of Venezuela, amid President Trump’s push to pressure Latin American drug cartels.

The USS Gravely, the USS Jason Dunham, and the USS Sampson are set to arrive shortly, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to comment and spoke Tuesday on the condition of anonymity to the Associated Press. They confirmed that U.S. military assets are being sent to the region for counter-narcotics operations and that the destroyers would be deployed “over the course of several months.”

The move comes as President Trump pushes to use the U.S. military against the cartels he blames for flooding American communities with fentanyl and fueling violence in American cities – both through illegal immigration, cross-border drug trafficking, as well as other long-established smuggling networks across land and sea – that Washington has previously failed to completely counter.

The fallout from revelations about the Russiagate scandal has led to security clearances being canceled for 37 current and former officials.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard posted a statement on social media on Tuesday about the decision ordered by President Donald Trump.

‘They undermine our national security, the safety and security of the American people and the foundational principles of our democratic republic.’

The Trump administration is imposing sanctions on four members of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for targeting Israelis and Americans for prosecution.

The ICC last year issued warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the sanctions in a post on X in which he explained that the ICC “continues to disregard national sovereignty and facilitate lawfare through efforts to investigate, arrest, detain, and prosecute American and Israeli nationals.”

The American Academy of Pediatrics is a left-wing activist group – washingtonexaminer.com

The American Academy of Pediatrics has given up the ghost. Each set of recommendations and guidance from the organization shows it to be a left-wing activist group that should no longer be treated with the reverence that it once was.

The AAP has split from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance on COVID-19 vaccines for children. The CDC removed the COVID-19 vaccine from its immunization schedule recommendations for children, which lists vaccine recommendations from birth to age 18. The first COVID-19 vaccination recommendation for children was at six months old, along with their first vaccination for the flu.

Evidence from Kenya shows that key stone tools in the development of early humans were made by transporting materials over long distances 600,000 years earlier than previously thought.

An array of stone tools known collectively as the Oldowan toolkit were used by human ancestors to crush plant material and butcher large carcasses like those of hippopotamuses.

In 2023, NASA conducted a groundbreaking experiment to simulate life on Mars, confining four volunteers in a habitat replica for over a year. The mission, known as CHAPEA (Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog), aimed to study how humans cope with extreme isolation, limited resources, and communication delays. While the scientific focus was on survival, adaptation, and psychological resilience, the crew discovered an unexpected ally: PS4 gaming. Beyond entertainment, video games helped the volunteers maintain cognitive sharpness, reduce stress, and improve problem-solving skills, offering insights for the future of long-duration space missions.

Coastal flooding and life-threatening rip currents are expected as Hurricane Erin barrels towards the East Coast this week, and the powerful storm has the potential to unleash 100-foot (30 meter) waves, forecasters warn.

Hurricane Erin emerged as the first hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic season over the weekend, rapidly intensifying on Saturday (Aug. 16) to become a Category 5, the strongest type of hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Wind Scale. Erin then weakened and strengthened again and, at the time of writing, is a Category 4 with sustained wind speeds of about 130 mph (215 km/h).

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Tuesday that the U.S. is in the process of designating the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

Speaking to Sid Rosenburg of “Sid and Friends in the Morning,” Rubio was asked about the support that New York Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is getting from groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood.

“Why wouldn’t you guys designate the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR? I just – I look at these organizations, I have a mayor’s race here in New York City with this psycho, this lunatic Mamdani. Both of these groups you know are behind him, especially the Muslim Brotherhood. Is that something you think we can count on maybe in the near future? Maybe not CAIR just yet, but certainly the Muslim Brotherhood?” Rosenberg asked, referring to the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The State Department just made clear that America will no longer aid or ignore foreign censorship, calling out threats to Americans and American companies.

State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce took a subtle jab at the Biden administration when on Aug. 12 she announced that new additions to the 2024 Human Rights Report, are “addressing abuses that had not previously been covered,” including the global free speech crisis developing in places like the United Kingdom (U.K.). Bruce criticized the previous administration’s approach to human rights, saying that this year’s report “Is responsive to the legislative mandates that underpin the report rather than an expansive list of politically biased demands and assertions.”

A federal judge in Maryland on Thursday permanently blocked two of President Trump’s memos aimed at ending Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs at universities.

Earlier this year, the Department of Education issued an ultimatum to federally funded schools: eliminate DEI programs within 14 days, or risk losing all federal funding.

The directive, detailed in a letter from the Department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR), was in response to “pervasive and repugnant race-based preferences” that have turned America’s schools into indoctrination camps.

The Trump administration has directed all federal agencies to strictly uphold the Mexico City Policy, which bans all funding for groups involved in abortion-related services abroad, going so far as to destroy contraceptive supplies rather than risk having them misused by abortion-minded international aid groups.

President Donald Trump first reinstated an expanded version of the Reagan-era policy on January 24, 2025, establishing rigorous oversight to ensure that no organization receiving taxpayer dollars is able to violate the policy. This is a complete 180-degree turn from the Biden administration’s stance on this issue.

Democratic presidential hopefuls might be wise to keep their heads down and their mouths shut. Whenever one voices an opinion that aligns with the broad American mainstream, his own base punishes him for it. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump keeps laying political traps to ensure that those intraparty attacks continue.

The latest target is former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. During an episode of “Pod Save America,” co-host Jon Favreau pressed him on a Senate vote to halt weapons shipments to Israel and on how future U.S. administrations should handle relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On each and every issue, Trump has stood by the water and tried to lead Democrats toward the desert.

If you want to know why the media shills for Hamas, rewatch this segment on CNN with Josh Rogin and Scott Jennings. The Gaza war was the topic, since Israel announced they were going in to destroy the rest of the terror group and occupy the rest of the strip.

Rogin then went on some cockamamie analysis about how Israel wants to prolong the war, the suffering, and said that if occupying Gaza would destroy Hamas, it would’ve worked by now. It hasn’t. My man, its last stronghold has been untouched by Israeli forces. They still have an enclave of control. Jennings rightly said that Hamas doesn’t want a ceasefire, and they don’t want to release the hostages. Nothing can happen until Hamas is gone, to which Rogin said, “Hamas is part of Palestinian society in all ways and forms. So, you can’t completely eliminate it.”

CNN is a silly content-creating network, though Scott Jennings and “We’re Just Wild About” Harry Enten provide us with endless amounts of entertainment. Jennings for being the sole voice of reason when his brain goes into kill mode. Enten because of the animated way he analyzes polling data. At least, when we agree with the data. Otherwise, he is fake news.

Harry looked at polling data in light of Donald Trump’s common sense Washington DC reform and Democrats finding a new 80-20 issue to be on the wrong side of. Though this one is more of a 91-9 issue.

These numbers are before Trump’s DC takeover, but of note:

  • Trump has a fourteen point swing in how he handles crime
  • There is a TWENTY-SEVEN point gap between Trump and The People Who Controlled Joe Biden
  • Republicans lead Democrats by sixteen points when it comes to handling crime

Justice Department attorneys filed two new lawsuits against the California Air Resources Board, the group responsible for making “preempted emissions standards” for heavy-duty trucks.

According to a news release from the Justice Department, the complaints align with a vow from President Donald Trump to end the electric vehicle mandate in California.

Biden administration officials had allowed CARB to impose regulations on heavy-duty trucks, but two months ago, Trump invalidated Environmental Protection Agency waivers letting California enforcing the standards.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — In another sign of woke-fatigue, a weekend Pro-Hamas protest organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) only managed to draw about a dozen supporters in Texas’ second-largest city. The Saturday afternoon protest above the city’s famous riverwalk garnered little attention from the hundreds of tourists visiting the Alamo city’s famous nearby attractions.

Despite having a population of nearly 1.5 million residents in San Antonio to draw from, the protest advertised on social media by the local PSL chapter failed to attract hardly any socialist activists. The event was billed as an emergency protest to stop the starvation in Gaza and to call for an end to all U.S. aid to Israel.

President Donald Trump’s sweeping law-and-order crackdown in Washington, D.C., is delivering a major win for law-abiding residents seeking the right to protect themselves.

The president’s Making D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force has slashed the city’s concealed carry and firearm registration wait times from months down to mere days, all without changing local gun laws.

The task force, created via Trump’s March executive order to revitalize the capital, worked directly with local officials to streamline the process for residents navigating the District’s notoriously strict firearms system.

Activists marched through Washington, DC, on Saturday to protest President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops in the capital, with some clashing with law enforcement and surrounding National Guard troops stationed at the National Mall.

Protesters carried signs in English and Spanish reading “No ICE! No National Guard!”, “DC Says Stop the Military Takeover,” and “Resist Fascism.” Chants of “Trump must go now!” were heard through the crowd as marchers criticized the administration’s move to crack down on rampant crime with the federalization of law enforcement.

In both of their statements, McMaster and DeWine said the troops would be there for added support as Trump looks to tackle violent crime in Washington.

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced that he is sending hundreds of National Guard troops from his state to Washington, D.C., to assist with President Donald Trump’s crackdown on violent crime in the capital.

Trump has been targeting crime in Washington over the past week, deploying 800 D.C. National Guard troops as well as taking control of D.C. police for 30 days. Part of the latter order was scaled back on Friday, with D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith largely resuming control of the department as opposed to DEA Administrator Terrance Cole, who the Trump administration sought to install as an emergency police commissioner.

Despite the setback, the National Guard and federal officers including from the FBI, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Homeland Security Investigations have continued to patrol the streets, and as of Saturday, more are set to join them.

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is still hard at work cutting billions of taxpayer dollars’ worth of outrageous federal contracts and grants.

In less than a week, DOGE was able to end over 120 federal contracts worth billions of dollars in savings, including a contract to provide Nigeria with a technical advisor. And last week, the agency terminated nearly 500 contracts. This is what we voted for in 2024.

DOGE posted, “Contracts Update! In the last 5 days, agencies terminated 123 wasteful contacts with a ceiling value of $5.3B and savings of $4.2B, including an $857k DOI contract for a ‘technical advisor, Lagos Nigeria’, a $1.5M Dept. of Treasury contract for ‘Word Processing and Document Formatting Services Examination Training’ for the IRS, SBSE and HCO, and a $785k State Dept. consulting contract for ‘staffing.’”
