OPINION: The Trump administration isn’t unjustly taking away anyone’s Social Security – it’s ensuring people pay their debts
“Social Security Benefits Could Be Slashed to $750 Under Trump’s Student Loan Wage Seizure,” bellows a Forbes headline. Some “beneficiaries will face 15% cuts in June,” warns MassLive.
In reality, the opposite of where mainstream media journalists live, the Trump administration is moving to ensure student loans borrowed are paid for. It follows a five-year reprieve from most federal student loans which the president himself instituted in March 2020. The Trump administration has begun collecting loans that have been in default more than 270 days, since the freeze ended in Oct. 2024.
According to Forbes, Trump “could drastically cut [seniors] Social Security benefits, potentially leaving them with just $750 per month to live on.”
“Social Security beneficiaries who have fallen behind on their student loan payments face up to 15% garnishment of their payments,” MassLive reports.
Democratic strategist James Carville acknowledged Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “The Will Cain Show” that the Democrats “tried to hide the effects” of then-President Joe Biden’s age.
Carville said, “I didn’t see anything behind the scene. I could tell, I’m 80 years old. I know, unlike most people, I know what the job entails. This is not a job for 80-year-olds. And, by the way, this president is going to be 81 when he finishes this term. So I — yeah, I thought from day one, 80 percent of the people in the United States thought he was too old to run for reelection. I mean, I’m the only one. You can’t be that smart if you have four-fifths of the country. You’re following the masses. But yes, he was too old. And yes, they tried to — they tried to hide the effects of age from people. That’s utterly apparent to any fool.”
He added, “And I was saying this since 2022, alright. I think it was a big mistake for him to say he was running for reelection. And I’ve said it at the time, and I will say it now, and I will say it a thousand times. And I think that Jake, in that book, I mean, it was a good book but to me it was a water is wet book. Like I said, 80 percent of the country. I’ll never forget that in May of 2023, to be exact, I saw a Washington Post/ABC poll, and I went. This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It had never changed. And I did everything I possibly knew to say, ma’am, please don’t do this. This is, this is just a terrible idea.”
You know that Department of Justice official Ed Martin, who is now a pardon attorney and helming a weaponization task force, has named three of the big kahunas in this alleged scheme: Anita Dunn, Bob Bauer, and Ron Klain. Martin said the president can use an autopen, but he must be mentally fit for the contract to have the force of law.
BREAKING: A whistleblower has reportedly come forward with evidence related to the Biden White House autopen scandal, according to U.S. Pardon Attorney Ed Martin.
We know Biden was not cogent, with numerous stories about how aides and the media covered up his mental decline. There also might be some funny shadow games regarding his prostate cancer diagnosis. Still, one thing that watchdogs who have been watching this activity agree on is that Martin is on the case and that with a senior Democrat coming forward, he’ll get to the bottom of this (via The Blaze):
Martin revealed on Tuesday that his investigation into the use of the autopen has actually been underway for weeks; that he has reached out to members of the Biden family; that some persons of interest have “lawyered up”; and that a whistleblower has already come forward with some troubling allegations.
“I had a whistleblower in my office 10 day ago — senior, senior Democrat — saying, ‘Look, it was these three people that controlled access, and they were making money off of it,'” Martin told journalist Mark Halperin on the “2WAY Tonight” show. “I don’t know if I believe it yet, but the point is, I think, we have to get to the bottom of it for the American people and to protect the process, and that’s what we’re doing.”
Martin indicated that the whistleblower was involved with the 2020 Biden campaign at the highest levels.

Marlow stated, “She said in the VP debate against Mike Pence that Joe Biden puts everything out there regarding his health. Well, we learned that Joe Biden hid his sleep apnea for 15 years.”
Judge James C. Later that night, at 12:34 A.M., the terrorists went to the court, alleging that they had been told they would be removed “tonight or tomorrow,” and demanded an emergency TRO.
President Donald Trump’s administration has terminated Harvard University’s student visa program.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shut down the program over “pro-terrorist conduct” on the prestigious school’s campus.
In a statement, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said the move is a severe consequence of Harvard’s refusal to comply with the Trump administration’s request for the behavioral records of foreign students.
“This administration is holding Harvard accountable for fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus,” Noem said.
“It is a privilege, not a right, for universities to enroll foreign students and benefit from their higher tuition payments to help pad their multibillion-dollar endowments.

A shock new poll has revealed that Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) could be in with a chance of defeating Democrat incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul in deep blue New York’s gubernatorial election.
In a hypothetical match-up, Stefanik and Hochul are neck-and-neck, the poll found.
The polling was revealed in a recent survey by data analytics firm co/efficient.
The results of the survey, obtained by the New York Post, show Stefanik, a close ally of President Donald Trump, as the strongest contender to unseat Hochul.
The independent poll revealed that Hochul, who is up for reelection next year, would have 43 percent of the vote.
Stefanik, meanwhile, is just a hair behind with 42 percent.
About 15 percent of New Yorkers are still undecided, the poll noted.
Washington breathed a sigh of relief Thursday morning. After weeks of wrangling, members and staff of the House of Representatives finally got some much-needed sleep. But while the House’s passage of the reconciliation package marks a major win, no one should mistake it for the final battle.
The bill now moves to the Senate, where it will be dissected, amended, and — barring a miracle — sent back to the House with underlines and edits.
The White House wants this wrapped up before the July 4 recess. That’s ambitious, considering how narrowly the bill cleared the House in the first place.
All spending must originate in the House, a fact that the Senate sometimes forgets. So think of Thursday’s vote as taking the beaches. Now comes the slow, messy slog inland.
The President Donald Trump-backed “One Big Beautiful Bill” passed the House Thursday morning by a one-vote margin, so now it is off to the Senate, where it appears to have another high hurdle to cross.
The final House vote on the legislation was 215 to 214, with no Democrats supporting it, while two Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Warren Davidson of Ohio — voted against it.
House Freedom Caucus Chair Andy Harris of Maryland voted “Present,” allowing the bill to secure a majority.

The House passed President Trump’s domestic policy bill, dubbed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, by just one vote in the early morning hours Thursday after an all-night session.
The vote was that close in part because Rep. Andrew Garbarino, a New York Republican who would’ve voted to support it, was asleep at the time, House Speaker Mike Johnson said.
“Andrew Garbarino did not make it in time. He fell asleep in the back. No kidding, I know. I’m going to just strangle him, but then, he’s my dear friend,” Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, said in a press conference.
Garbarino, who represents New York’s 2nd District on Long Island, did not deny being asleep.
“I am proud to have been the leading voice on Long Island during negotiations on this key reconciliation bill. I fought to lift the cap on SALT and ensure hardworking Long Island families see the benefits of this important legislation. I was moments away from the House floor, to vote ‘yes,’ when the vote was closed. While I am frustrated that the vote was closed before I was able to cast my vote, I am proud of the work we accomplished to deliver huge results for Long Island,” Garbarino said in a statement.
LOS ANGELES — An Indigenous tribe from the Brazilian Amazon has sued The New York Times, saying the newspaper’s reporting on the tribe’s first exposure to the internet led to its members being widely portrayed as technology-addled and addicted to pornography.
The Marubo Tribe of the Javari Valley, a sovereign community of about 2,000 people in the rainforest, filed the defamation lawsuit seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages this week in a court in Los Angeles.
It also names TMZ and Yahoo as defendants, alleging that their stories amplified and sensationalized the Times’ reporting and smeared the tribe in the process.
The suit says the Times’ June 2024 story by reporter Jack Nicas on how the group was handling the introduction of satellite service through Elon Musk’s Starlink “portrayed the Marubo people as a community unable to handle basic exposure to the internet, highlighting allegations that their youth had become consumed by pornography.”
“These statements were not only inflammatory but conveyed to the average reader that the Marubo people had descended into moral and social decline as a direct result of internet access,” an amended version of the lawsuit filed Thursday says. “Such portrayals go far beyond cultural commentary; they directly attack the character, morality, and social standing of an entire people, suggesting they lack the discipline or values to function in the modern world.”
A bill to add “an understanding of communist regimes and ideologies” to the Texas social studies curriculum passed in the state’s legislature Wednesday. It now heads to Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R-TX) desk to be signed into law.
It passed in the House 112-20 on Wednesday, after passing in the Senate in March. If the bill is signed into law, the Texas State Board of Education will revise its Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills curriculum for grades 4-12 beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
Texas Senate Bill 24 was authored by Texas state Sen. Donna Campbell, and highly regarded by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who said the prioritization of the curriculum amendment was necessary “so history does not repeat itself.”
While Patrick’s statement when the bill was passed in the Texas Senate in March labeled it as bipartisan, several democratic lawmakers, such as state Reps. Vikki Goodwin and Jon Rosenthal, tried to get the bill amended to include the dangers of fascism, specifically Nazism, as well.
With the help of pro-life advocates, a bill to legalize assisted suicide in Nevada was defeated May 16 when it did was not advanced by a state senate committee.
This is the fifth time that such legislation has failed to pass in the state,
Republican Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo had previously stated that he would veto any assisted suicide legislation if it passed the senate, according to Breitbart. Lombardo vetoed a similar proposal in 2023.
Assembly Bill 346 would have allowed adults with a prognosis of six months or less to live to end their lives with a prescription from a doctor or nurse practitioner. The bill also stipulated that the adults must be “mentally capable” to make the decision.
House Republicans delivered on their promise to defund Big Abortion on Thursday by passing the budget reconciliation bill that has consumed Washington’s attention for the past three months.
The move is a monumental win for pro-lifers because Planned Parenthood receives more than one-third of its overall funding from the U.S. government through grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements. That translates to about $2 million per day, which taxpayers are on the hook for. Furthermore, taxpayer funding for the organization has been on an upward trajectory for about the past dozen years, having increased by 50% since 2013.
But the House reconciliation bill halts that trend by ending the flow of Medicaid dollars to Planned Parenthood, except in abortion cases for rape or incest. Planned Parenthood is also a major provider of hormones for so-called transgender transitions in the country, which means defunding it is also combating the organization’s efforts in that regard as well.
