The secondary market for decades old, low-tech John Deere tractors has been booming for years as farmers have sought reliable tractors that they can actually fix without having to deal with John Deere’s repair monopoly. A Canadian company has seen that demand and came up with a radical thought: What if they made a new, repairable, “no-tech” tractor to solve what has become a gigantic pain point for farmers?

Alberta’s Ursa Ag says that it has been inundated with demand after announcing its tractor, which costs roughly half as much as a Deere and has the benefit of not being a repair nightmare. We have for years covered the frustration that farmers have felt as they have been locked out of their Deere tractors with digital rights management systems that prevent them from fixing their machinery, tractors that won’t run because of minor sensor failures, and crops that literally die on the vine as they wait for an “authorized” repair person to fix tractors during critical harvesting periods.

The United States has imposed sanctions on Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, along with his wife and three other individuals, according to a filing Thursday from the U.S. Treasury Department. It’s the latest Trump administration move to pressure the island’s leadership.

Included in the sanctions are Alejandro Castro Espín, the sole son of former President Raúl Castro and Vilma Espín. He served as an adviser to Cuba’s Defense and National Security Commission and was present when Raúl Castro greeted then-U.S. President Barack Obama in Havana during a historic March 2016 meeting. Castro Espín’s son, Raúl Alejandro Castro Calis, was also listed.

The sanctions come after U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order expanding sanctions against the island and has been threatening military action ever since ousting Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro in January and then ordering an energy blockade that choked off fuel shipments to Cuba. That has led to severe blackouts, food shortages and an economic collapse across the island.

A warm enough friendship can survive a few heated words.

That was the gist of President Donald Trump’s dismissal of a widely reported confrontation Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“We’ve worked very well together, I like Bibi a lot,” Trump said. “And I’ve worked very well with him.”

WARNING: The following social media post contains vulgar language that some may find offensive.

“I am appointing the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Chairman of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, William J. Pulte, to serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence. William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America, the safety and soundness of the Markets, and over 10 Trillion Dollars at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago.” – President Donald Trump

Scientists have uncovered a new way to control an unusual quantum phenomenon that could one day help power electronic devices without batteries.

An international research team led by Professor Dongchen Qi from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) School of Chemistry and Physics and Professor Xiao Renshaw Wang from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore investigated the physics behind the nonlinear Hall effect (NLHE), a quantum phenomenon with significant potential for future energy-harvesting technologies.

Unlike the classical Hall effect, the NLHE can convert alternating electrical signals directly into direct current. This means energy from wireless transmissions or other ambient sources could potentially be transformed into usable electricity without relying on conventional diodes or other bulky electronic components.

“The NLHE is a sophisticated quantum phenomenon in condensed matter physics where a voltage is generated perpendicular to an applied alternating current, even in the absence of a magnetic field,” Professor Qi said.

“This effect allows us to convert alternating signals straight into direct current, which is what’s needed to power electronic devices. In principle, it means sensors or chips that could operate without batteries, drawing energy from their environment.”

A Virginia judge reaffirmed an injunction blocking the state’s “universal background check” law Wednesday, days after pro-Second Amendment groups sought to hold state officials in contempt when they started enforcing the measure.

Democratic Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed HB 1525 into law on April 22 after the General Assembly concurred with her amendments that added an emergency provision directing the Virginia State Police to enforce the law blocked by a permanent injunction issued in October 2025. Virginia Citizens Defense League President Philip Van Cleave provided an update Wednesday about the organization’s request for a contempt citation.

“Major breaking news! VCDL, GOA, the Constitution, and Virginia gun-owners had a huge victory in court today!” Van Cleave posted. “A judge has kept the permanent injunction against Universal Background Checks in place! R.I.P. Universal Background Checks!”

Germany’s long-running “firewall” that sees the country’s legacy parties exclude cooperation with the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) is moving further out of step with a large section of the electorate, with new polling showing voters now evenly divided over the governing CDU’s refusal to work with the nationalist party.

According to the latest Deutschlandtrend survey by Infratest Dimap for ARD and Welt, 47 percent of Germans now say the CDU’s exclusion of cooperation with the AfD is not right, while the same proportion say it is right. That marks a significant shift since September 2024, with opposition to the stance rising by 12 points and support falling by 13 points.

The White House on Wednesday moved to strip civil service protections from about 8,000 federal workers, including many working at public health agencies.

The executive order effectively transforms these positions—which include “epidemiologist”, “health scientist” and “toxicologist” jobs—into “at-will” positions—meaning they can be readily fired without cause. The job category, initially called Schedule F and now called Schedule Policy/Career, strips these federal workers of protections meant to prevent political interference.

According to the order, “policy-influencing positions” must be transferred to the new status, thereby “ensuring that such employees can be removed for misconduct or poor performance is essential to protecting democratic self-government by an elected President.” The move reflects President Donald Trump’s long-standing complaint of a “deep state” of federal workers resistant to his policies, and he has for years called for the schedule change in order to fire civil servants he views as impediments to his policies.

New polling data suggests that a Senate race in a state Trump won by double digits could fall to Democrats in the midterms.

Incumbent Republican Sen. Jon Husted is facing a challenge from former three-term Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, who lost his 2024 bid for reelection. But now just two years after President Donald Trump carried Ohio by 11 percentage points in the 2024 election, Brown is leading Husted by an eight-point margin 53% to 45%, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday.

Brown has 98% of support among Democrats, whereas Husted only has the support of 86% of support among Republicans, according to the poll.

Ridgway stated that he and his wife researched Down syndrome and decided that it would be best for both the child and for his family if the baby was killed in the womb—and noted that over 90 percent of children diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted:

50% of babies with DS have heart defects. 75% will have hearing challenges. Over 50% will have vision problems. Impaired immune function, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, delayed physical development, poor muscle tone, structural issues with face, decreased lifespan, etc…Sadly, the list is long, feel free to look it up…Down Syndome isn’t a “blessing”, it is objectively shitty from a health perspective. I didn’t realize just how rough it is for the child, let alone the family…more often than not, they would be fully dependent on others for the rest of their life.

“To all of my fans who have weighed in on this topic who have Autism, Down Syndrome or any other conditions…we appreciate you,” Ridgway added, despite the fact that he and his wife aborted their baby specifically because she had Down syndrome. “You matter a lot and we’re glad you’re here. I commend you and your families for having the strength and courage to push forward. As for us, we made a difficult decision that we believe in the long-run will be beneficial for our family. Thankfully, we had a choice.”

“The city of Saint Paul has officially determined the January 18 invasion of our church and the desecration of our worship to be a ‘peaceful protest.'”

The lead pastor of Cities Church in St Paul, Minnesota, has criticized the city’s mayor after agitators who stormed the church in January, including former CNN reporter Don Lemon, have avoided state charges related to the incident.

In a statement on Wednesday, city attorney Irene Kao said, “Our office has a legal and ethical obligation to file charges only when the available evidence establishes probable cause and supports a reasonable likelihood of conviction beyond a reasonable doubt.”

She said that following a “careful evaluation of the video footage, investigative reports, and other available materials, prosecutors determined that the current evidence is insufficient to meet that standard for criminal charges under Minnesota state statutes.” She added, “The right to peacefully protest is protected, as is the right to exercise one’s religious beliefs. Balancing these equally important rights is paramount to our decision today.”

The mystery surrounding a missing New Mexico nuclear scientist has deepened dramatically after new details emerged about her death, raising fresh questions in a case that has already drawn the attention of federal investigators and President Donald Trump.

As Slay News reported earlier this week, Melissa Casias, a 54-year-old employee of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), was found dead in a remote section of New Mexico’s Carson National Forest nearly a year after she vanished without a trace.

Now, reports indicate that Casias suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was discovered alongside a firearm, details that are fueling speculation and skepticism about what really happened.

It’s Pride Month, so Democrats are not only donning the rainbow flag, they’re continuing their work to erase gendered language from our lexicon and destroy the nuclear family. In New York, a bill was just advanced that would replace the terms ‘mother’ and ‘father’ with the Orwellian ‘gestating parent’ and ‘non-gestating parent.

Here’s more:

A woke new bill erases the terms “mother” and “father” from state child custody and parental laws — a gender-neutral rewriting that’s expected to spark a flood of similarly clunky legislation.

“Mother” would be replaced with “gestating parent” while “father” becomes “non-gestating parent” or “parent” in family court along with in domestic and education law, under the legislation, passed this week by state Democrats.

“Paternity” proceedings to determine a child’s biological father would meanwhile become “parentage” cases, under the bill, which was rammed through the Assembly in March and of the Senate this week.

A “putative father” — also known as a deadbeat dad — would now be called “an alleged parent” in official state records, under the bill, which was sponsored by liberals Sen. Luis Sepulveda (D-Bronx) and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Westchester) and will go to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s desk for approval.

“It’s woke culture run amok. It’s one-upmanship,” said state Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar, a former longtime state Senate and Assembly staffer.

At issue in today’s hearing is whether the leftist pro-abortion group “Virginians for Reproductive Freedom” (VRF) has the right to formally intervene in our lawsuit and join the government to oppose us. VRF is a “referendum committee” that has already raised $500,000 and plans to pour millions more into Virginia to persuade voters to support the abortion ballot initiative. We believe Virginia case law is clear that they have no right to intervene.

President Donald Trump has criticized California for its vote-counting delay in the gubernatorial and Los Angeles mayoral races, accusing the state’s Democratic leaders of “BIG cheating.”

While California polls closed at 8 p.m. local time on Tuesday, that state’s counting appears to remain at a standstill as of Thursday morning.

‘Here we go with the very late and massive numbers of MAIL IN BALLOTS.’

Only 56% of the votes have been counted in the race for governor and 62% in the mayoral election, according to the Associated Press. This is a 2% decrease for both races compared to Wednesday morning.

In the race to replace Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, former Fox News host and small-business owner Steve Hilton (R) currently holds a slight lead over former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra (D), and climate advocate and businessman Tom Steyer (D) remains in third position.

Rep. Madeleine Dean tore apart the unconscionable number of redacted files in the Epstein files. She proved that Trump lied about being on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane while sycophant acting AG Todd Blanche looked on.

DEAN: When will you comply with the law and release all of the files?

TODD: As I said to you when we spoke before, we have complied with the law.

DEAN: There are 3 million more documents, and you know what you said to me? They’re all duplicative, and they include another guy named Epstein.

Blanche Dubois claimed he never said it, but you know he did.

After the Chairman interrupted, Dean let Blanche have it.

What is true is that the president has lied about being on Epstein’s plane, and the unredacted files prove that.

There’s a lot in here. I am shocked at this.

There’s also this set of files in the file. This is investigation into the potential co-conspirators of Jeffrey Epstein. I almost used up all the blank ink in the hallway, because it’s all covered up. It’s all covered up.

The American people are not stupid.

They know that when members of Congress have to go in and actually unredact, try to find the truth for these victims, something is corrupt.

Something is corrosive. You were paid $10 million to represent the president. You hang a 30-foot banner of the president’s menacing face over the entrance to the Department of Justice.

You said that if you were terminated or not moved forward as attorney general, you would say to the president, I love you, sir.

So I have one question for you.

Is your obligation to the victims and survivors of Epstein’s heinous crimes and all his perpetrators, or is your first obligation to the president of the United States?

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to implement a renewed ceasefire after US-mediated talks in Washington

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to implement a renewed ceasefire that requires Hezbollah to stop firing and withdraw its operatives from southern Lebanon, according to a joint statement released after US-mediated talks at the State Department on Wednesday.

The talks followed weeks of Israeli strikes and ground operations in Lebanon, as well as Hezbollah rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. Washington has said previous ceasefire efforts were undermined by Hezbollah attacks carried out without the approval of the Lebanese government.
