Zohran Mamdani thinks NY voters are stupid with his latest defense of his past, radical, anti-American views– www.louderwithcrowder.com

Excerpt:

Ever since Kamala Harris lost because voters held her responsible for the words that came out of her mouth, there has been a push on the left to ignore the words that came out of their candidates’ mouths before five minutes ago. Sure, every Democrat holds extremist views and is closed-minded and intolerant toward any opposing viewpoint. But they want you to think they’re not that as they try to get elected today. That’s what The Zohran expects New York City voters to believe.

Ignore everything he has done or said as an elected official in the city he is looking to become Mayor of. He’s evolved from a 29-year-old communist to a 33-year-old socialist.

THE ZOHRAN: My opponents would rather bring up positions I’ve held as an elected official than what I claim my positions are today.

JOURNALISMER: So what you’re saying is you’ve evolved?

THE ZOHRAN: Sure, go with that.

He’s going with the Kathy Hochul defense. Every Democrat said crazy things to pander a few years ago. You can’t hold that against him now that it’s clear all those positions have rendered Democrats toxic to the American people. Thankfully for The Zohran, he’s not running in America, but rather in New York City.

He has evolved from saying “We don’t need an investigation to know that the NYPD is racist, anti-queer & a major threat to public safety.”

The Zohran no longer subscribes to a communist worldview. So when he, as an elected official, said he wants the government to buy up private properties and convert them into communes, we shouldn’t consider that as he runs for a position that would give him the power to do so. Also, according to “independent” “fact” “checkers,” there is no way of knowing what The Zohran means when he says “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”

The issue is never the issue.

The appearance of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, before the Pfizer Tribunal at the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Thursday reminded me of the truth of that famous saying of Saul Alinsky.

The issue is never the issue. What is always the issue, according to that community organizer nonpareil, is power.

Ostensibly, Secretary Kennedy came to answer questions about COVID (remember that scam?) and the performance of people at—or, rather, recently at—the Centers for Disease Control. He recently fired the new, freshly confirmed director, Susan Monarez, for being “untrustworthy,” and some 1000 staffers walked out in solidarity or—what’s that other word beginning with an “s”?—Oh, right: in a snit.

One by one, the senators, mostly Democrats but also a few Republicans, screamed and gesticulated at Kennedy, accused him of being a “charlatan” and worse, and demanded that he resign or be fired.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Multiple Republican lawmakers dressed Kennedy down on Thursday during a Senate Finance Committee hearing, expressing concerns with his anti-vaccine policies and his personnel decisions.

Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming, an orthopedic surgeon by trade who cast the deciding vote to confirm Kennedy, took a page out of the playbook of Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, saying that he was “concerned” about Kennedy’s stance on vaccines.

“Secretary Kennedy, in your confirmation hearings, you promised to uphold the highest standards for vaccines,” Barrasso said. “Since then, I’ve grown deeply concerned. The public has seen measles outbreaks, leadership in the National Institutes of Health questioning the use of mRNA vaccines, the recently confirmed director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fired. Americans don’t know who to rely on.”

Utah gerrymander struck down by judge in a win for voters– www.latimes.com

It’s been more than 60 years since Utah backed a Democrat for president. The state’s last Democratic U.S. senator left office nearly half a century ago and the last Utah Democrat to serve in the House lost his seat in 2020.

But, improbably enough, Utah has suddenly emerged as a rare Democratic bright spot in the red-vs.-blue redistricting wars.

Late last month, a judge tossed out the state’s slanted congressional lines and ordered Utah’s GOP-run Legislature to draw a new political map, ruling that lawmakers improperly thumbed their noses and overrode voters who created an independent redistricting commission to end gerrymandering.

It’s a welcome pushback against the growing pattern of lawmakers arrogantly ignoring voters and pursuing their preferred agenda. You don’t have to be a partisan to think that elections should matter and when voters express their will it should be honored.

Scientists have discovered fascinating new insights into what Earth looked like before it was fully formed. A study led by Charles-Édouard Boukaré, physicist at York University, reveals that our planet’s essential features were established within its first 100 million years. Published in Nature, the research combines geochemistry with advanced computer simulations to show how Earth’s molten interior cooled and solidified into distinct layers that continue to shape its geology today. These results challenge long-standing theories of planetary formation and provide a new perspective not only on Earth’s origins but also on how rocky planets across the universe evolve.

  • The Trump Administration rescinded a policy allowing Federal Work-Study funds to be used for student election jobs.
  • The new guidance from the Education Department requires institutions to refrain from hiring individuals involved in political activities benefiting specific groups.
  • Critics say the Biden-era policy was an “abusive misuse” of tax dollars, meant to support Democrats.
  • The change comes after The College Fix found several work-study election jobs were connected to progressive organizations.

Conservative election integrity advocates praised the Trump administration for rescinding a Biden-era guidance that allowed Federal Work-Study funds to be used to employ students to perform election jobs.

The announcement came after The College Fix reported on multiple incidents of the work-study program being used to fund left-wing get-out-the-vote efforts.

Hans von Spakovsky, senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese Center, called the Biden-era work-study guidance an “abusive misuse” of tax dollars, intent on ensuring “liberal organizations supporting the Biden reelection effort and the Democrat Party were provided with interns … to enhance the party’s prospects of winning elections.”

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Daskalakis bolted from his role as Director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases just hours after CDC Director Susan Monarez was unceremoniously ousted.

His exit came the very same day RFK Jr. announced sweeping reforms to dismantle the failed vaccine mandates that crushed our economy and stripped away Americans’ freedoms.

Johnson: What Trump is referring to is the hoax that the Democrats are using to try to attack him. He has never said or suggested or implied— I’ve talked to him about this many times, many times. CHICAGO — The Rev. Marshall Hatch urged congregants of a prominent Black church on Chicago’s West Side to carry identification, stay connected to family and protest as the city readied for an expected federal intervention.

“You need to start telling people about your whereabouts, so you don’t disappear,” Hatch said during Sunday services at New Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. “We’re not going to despair. We’re not going to feel threatened. We’re not going to give up and give in to fascism and authoritarianism.”

As Chicago braced for an immigration enforcement crackdown and a possible National Guard deployment, churches across the city turned up their response from the pulpit. Some worked to quell fears about detention and deportation while others addressed the looming possibility of more law enforcement on the streets of the nation’s third-largest city.

President Donald Trump has threatened federal intervention in Democratic strongholds, most recently warning apocalyptic force could be used in Chicago to fight crime and step up deportations. He’s repeatedly cited the expected plans over fierce objections from local leaders and many residents who call it unnecessary and unwanted.

Pope Leo XIV proclaimed a 15-year-old computer genius the Catholic Church’s first millennial saint, along with another popular Italian figure who spent his life spreading his faith before dying at a young age.

Leo canonized Carlo Acutis, who died of Leukemia in 2006, and Italian student and avid outdoorsman Pier Giorgio Frassati, who died in his early 20s of polio in 1925, during an open-air Mass in St. Peter’s Square before an estimated 80,000 people.

Leo said both saints created “masterpieces” out of their lives by dedicating them to God.

“The greatest risk in life is to waste it outside of God’s plan,” Leo said in his Sunday homily. The new saints “are an invitation to all of us, especially young people, not to squander our lives, but to direct them upwards and make them masterpieces.”

Astronomers have discovered extraordinarily powerful X-ray jets blasting from two supermassive black holes that are so ancient that the jets shine in the afterglow of the Big Bang.

“They are transforming the first light of the universe into high-energy jets,” Jaya Maithil, a postdoctoral research fellow at the Harvard and Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, told reporters Monday (June 9) at the 246th meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Anchorage, Alaska.

Using data from NASA’s Chandra X-Ray Observatory and the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA), Maithil and her team found that each jet spans a whopping 300,000 light-years — nearly three times the diameter of our Milky Way galaxy. Each jet emerges from an actively feeding supermassive black hole, known as a quasar, located about 11.6 billion and 11.7 billion light-years away.

Excerpt:

Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently completed a study outlining their design and development of a hydrogel electrolyte that uses urea and zinc acetate to enable zinc-ion batteries to bend without losing voltage.

The study, published in the international edition of Angewandte Chemie, sought an alternative to conventional means of improving flexibility.

Quasi-solid-state electrolytes, for instance, encounter limitations in terms of cost, durability, and environmental impact — limitations overcome by the inexpensive, eco-friendly zinc acetate compound.

That’s not to say the researchers faced zero obstacles along the way.

Zinc acetate’s poor solubility, according to a summary published on Tech Xplore, interferes with performance, meaning the researchers needed to cultivate a “salting out” strategy — that is, removing hydration shells around polymer chains — in order to strengthen the electrolyte’s durability.

“This approach overcomes the usual limits of the low-cost [zinc acetate] salt, making it much better at resisting wear and tear,” noted researcher Li Zhaoqian. “It allows the material to withstand repeated processes of zinc plating and stripping, as well as other physical stress, improving its overall durability.”

Zinc-ion batteries are used in a range of applications, from smart technology to electric vehicles and renewable power storage, serving as a much more sustainable alternative to lithium-ion batteries, which tend to be expensive to source and contain hazardous pollutants.

More than eight in ten Germans said that they believe people are afraid to express their full opinions amid an increasingly censorious political climate in the country.

A survey published on Monday by the Institute for New Social Responses (INSA) found that 84 per cent of those surveyed believe that fellow citizens are self-censoring their opinions “because they are afraid of consequences.” In contrast, just nine per cent disagreed.

According to the pollster, this belief was shared across the political spectrum, with 77 per cent of supporters of the leftist-progressive Green party agreeing that people self-censor and 92 per cent of voters who back the populist-right Alternative for Germany saying the same.

When asked if they personally have hidden their true thoughts, 54 per cent said that they have had at least one experience when they did not feel able to speak freely. This represented a six-point increase since the pollster asked the same question just eight months ago.

While chemotherapy remains a cornerstone of lung cancer treatment, it often weakens the immune system it relies on for long-term control. Now, researchers have found a way to turn this weakness into strength — by transplanting healthy mitochondria into the tumor environment. In advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), combining mitochondrial transplantation with cisplatin not only enhanced immune cell infiltration but also reversed tumor metabolism and improved the drug’s effectiveness. This innovative approach transforms mitochondria from mere energy suppliers into active allies in cancer therapy, showing potential to reshape how we treat aggressive lung tumors.

Lung cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer worldwide, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for 85% of cases. Chemotherapy is the first-line treatment for advanced NSCLC, yet its effectiveness is hampered by toxic side effects and emerging resistance. Moreover, chemotherapy damages immune cells and reduces their presence in the tumor microenvironment, limiting long-term control. Adding to this challenge, tumors can hijack immune cell mitochondria through nanotube-like structures, further dampening immunity. Immunotherapy has improved outcomes for some, but many patients still fail to respond. Due to these limitations, there is a pressing need for strategies that restore immune power and metabolic balance during chemotherapy.

The Illinois Baptist State Association, or IBSA, is a community of nearly 1,000 Baptist churches, ministries, and missions, dedicated to advancing the Gospel across the Land of Lincoln.

Today, they face a heart-wrenching dilemma. Rooted in their belief that life is sacred from conception, IBSA has provided health insurance as an Illinois employer for its 20-plus employees and retirees for over a century—always excluding abortion coverage.

But Illinois’ 2019 Reproductive Health Act forces IBSA to choose between providing health insurance or funding abortion, directly violating its deeply held faith. (Keep reading to find out how we’re fighting back!)

The RHA mandates that all employer health insurance plans cover chemical and surgical abortions. And anytime they’ve sought an exemption, the reply has been “no.” This abortion coverage mandate has turned IBSA’s commitment to care for its employees into a moral crisis.

This charming mountain community has long grappled with one significant drawback: the lack of a quality café. For many years, residents and visitors have had to travel to the nearby city of Golden for a decent cup of coffee or tasty pastries. So both locals and tourists were thrilled when a French bakery, Et Voilà!, opened less than half a mile from Buffalo Bill’s Museum and Grave.

Et Voilà! — meaning “Here you go” in French — is run by a passionate trio of French immigrants: husband-and-wife team Eric and Rachel Dufour, along with Rachel’s sister, Ruth. After leaving a successful career as an economist, Ruth pursued her passion for baking at renowned chef Olivier Bajard’s pastry school. New details have emerged surrounding the investigation into former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who may have allowed a foreign government to gain access to classified intelligence when publishing a memoir in 2020, according to a bombshell report from the New York Times.

Despite constant allegations from Democrats and mainstream media pundits of political targeting on the part of the Trump Administration, The Times reported that the current investigation into Bolton “began to pick up steam” during the Biden presidency. Intelligence officials began to investigate after obtaining evidence that he may have mishandled classified information, according to unnamed sources familiar with the inquiry.

Credible accusations against Bolton first surfaced in 2020, when the Trump Administration filed a lawsuit attempting to block the release of his book, “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir.” The government argued that Bolton did not go through the proper vetting process with the National Security Council when drafting the book, a mandatory process for government officials seeking to publish works that may contain classified information.

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth refused to block the publication, but only because it was too late. He did conclude, however, that Bolton “likely published classified materials” and had “exposed his country to harm.” He later allowed the wider lawsuit to go forward, which was ultimately dismissed by the Biden Administration in 2021.
