The Supreme Court of the United States upheld a pause on a 5th Circuit Court ruling that would have halted mail-order sale of the abortion pill, mifepristone. The majority gave no reason for the decision, the two dissenters, Thomas and Alito, wrote their dissents.
Thomas wrote of the decision, “Applicants are not entitled to a stay of an adverse court order based on lost profits from their criminal enterprise. They cannot, in any legally relevant sense, be irreparably harmed by a court order that makes it more difficult for them to commit crimes.”
