Yemen’s Houthis on Wednesday said they shot down a Saudi fighter jet, claiming they used munitions made by the group to target the warplane.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces, with Allah’s aid and grace, succeeded in shooting down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet while it was carrying out hostile operations,” Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said on social media, while accusing Saudi Arabia of launching 450 strikes.

He said the aircraft had been targeted “using a locally made air-to-air missile”.

The spokesman also dismissed Saudi claims that the Houthis had targeted Islam’s holy city of Mecca.

“Our operations target its oil facilities and military bases, which are far removed from the sacred sites,” he said, adding that “fabrications and lies propagated by the criminal al-Saud regime cannot deceive anyone.”

The Saudi coalition vowed retaliation, warning that the security of holy sites was a “red line”.

“The security of the Two Holy Mosques and the pilgrims is a red line, and the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition will not hesitate to take the necessary and deterrent measures against the terrorist Houthi militia,” the coalition said in a statement shared by spokesman Turki al-Maliki on X.

And lowering user fees in the future would also mitigate against future premium increases. Depending on the details, this policy may also provide targeted relief to those affected by last year’s expiration of enhanced exchange subsidies.

Outside Groups Say Trump Administration Has Disrupted $177 Billion in Federal Grants › American Greatness– amgreatness.com

EXCERPT:

The Trump administration has canceled, frozen or delayed as much as $177 billion in federal grants since President Donald Trump began his second term, according to an analysis released Wednesday by two outside groups tracking the administration’s spending decisions.

The Lost Funds database, created by the States United Democracy Center and Grant Witness, says funding disruptions have reached all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Health, nutrition, environmental programs and disaster relief account for some of the largest categories identified by the groups.

California, Texas, New York, Illinois and North Carolina had the largest amounts of funding affected, according to the tracker. Individual grants cited by researchers include maternal health funding in Michigan, education research in Mississippi and assistance for minority farmers in Iowa.

The groups said the $177 billion figure amounts to nearly 10 percent of federal discretionary spending, although the database includes grants that were delayed or frozen in addition to those that were terminated.

The findings come as Trump has pursued an aggressive effort to reshape federal spending and redirect government priorities. Some funding decisions have faced legal challenges, and courts have blocked certain grant cancellations. Other lawsuits remain pending.

Months after a citizen was put in jail for a social media post about the community’s water, Trinidad police were notified that the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement had revoked all required licenses, effectively shutting down the department, according to KETK-TV.

The state agency investigated the police department in August and found it did not meet minimum standard licenses for the Trinidad Police Department, meaning the agency has effectively been disbanded this week.

The department of five full-time officers and some part-timers “was unable to provide evidence that the agency provides public benefit to the community,” the state wrote in its scathing review, according to KDFW-TV.

It said 18 required policies were not in place.

“It was not a shock. I’m not gonna say that it was,” Trinidad Mayor Dennis Haws said.

“There’s been a lot of neglect through the years,” Haws added.

Did the state do the right thing in disbanding this police department?

EXCLUSIVE: DHS Cracks Down On Immigration Attorneys Who File ‘Meritless’ Asylum Claims– dailycaller.com

EXCERPT:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is cracking down on immigration attorneys who file what the agency calls “meritless” and fraudulent asylum claims, according to a letter obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller.

A letter from DHS General Counsel James Percival to the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) argues that the immigration court system is facing a massive backlog, with nearly 3.5 million cases and 2.3 million asylum claims pending as of July 2026.

DHS attributes much of the backlog to what it calls “meritless asylum claims,” arguing that such claims can delay deportation and allow migrants to remain in the U.S. while their cases are pending.

The letter says claims involving generalized gang violence, domestic violence, economic hardship, and other country conditions often fail to meet the legal standard for asylum.

Federal Judge Refers Philadelphia’s Soros DA Larry Krasner to DOJ Over Possible Criminal Conduct › American Greatness– amgreatness.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

A federal judge has referred Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner and one of his top deputies to federal prosecutors for investigation, citing evidence of possible perjury, obstruction of justice, false statements and conspiracy stemming from the handling of a convicted murderer’s appeal.

U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond on Tuesday also disqualified Krasner and Assistant District Attorney Matthew Stiegler, chief of the office’s Conviction Integrity Unit, from further involvement in the case of Dennis Johnson. Johnson was convicted of second-degree murder in 2009 in connection with the 2007 killing of Kenyatta Smith.

Diamond’s 40-page memorandum followed hearings examining how Krasner’s office handled Johnson’s effort to overturn his conviction. The judge said testimony indicated Krasner and Stiegler may have pressured prosecutors to present a false account to the court while attempting to protect the district attorney’s office and Stiegler.

“I have thus reluctantly concluded that Philadelphia’s highest law enforcement official and one of his top assistants may have violated the law,” Diamond wrote.

According to court documents, prosecutors within Krasner’s office recommended referring the Johnson matter to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office because of potential conflicts involving Stiegler. Krasner rejected that approach, saying he needed to remain involved to “protect the office.” Diamond also said Krasner warned employees of “consequences” if they alerted the court to the conflict.

No criminal charges have been filed against Krasner or Stiegler. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has not said whether it will pursue an investigation.

On Sept. 9, federal investigators concluded that the University of California, Berkeley School of Law broke the law. Not some obscure regulation buried in an agency handbook. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the same statute Berkeley’s own professors teach first-year students. The joint finding from the Justice Department and the Department of Education says Berkeley Law discriminated against Asian and white applicants in the entering classes of 2024 and 2025, after the Supreme Court restricted race-conscious admissions.

In 2022, Berkeley Dean Erwin Chemerinsky told the New Yorker that colleges would have to “find ways to achieve diversity that can’t be documented as violating the Constitution.” That’s a law school dean telling colleagues to dodge a ruling without leaving fingerprints.

A quick refresher on constitutional law: In 2023 in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, the Supreme Court ruled that Harvard’s and the University of North Carolina’s race-conscious admissions programs violated the Equal Protection Clause, and by extension Title VI, which bars any federally funded institution from discriminating on the ground of race, color, or national origin. The court left room for schools to weigh how race shaped an applicant’s personal story, but not to use race itself, or a stand-in for it, as a plus factor. Berkeley’s own numbers show which side of that line it landed on.

BREAKING: Board votes to close Kennedy Center after federal judge bars Trump’s name from facade | The Post Millennial– thepostmillennial.com

The Kennedy Center is verging on bankruptcy.

The board of the Kennedy Center voted on Tuesday to close the storied performing arts space due to their “dire financial position.” The vote came as a federal judge said that President Donald Trump’s name could not be added to the building. Trump pressed for the move in order to aid him in fundraising for the structure.

A recent ceiling collapse emphasized the concerns Trump noted about the building when he initially said, upon coming into office, that the Kennedy Center should be closed so renovations could be done. The plan was to add Trump’s name to the building, calling it the Trump Kennedy Center, and to close for two years to make upgrades to the buidling facade and structure.

The board has voted repeatedly to close the building only to have their decisions held up in the courts. This Tuesday vote marks the third time the board has said that the building must close. Former board member Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio brought the issue before a federal court, saying that the board needed more due diligence before shutting down.

The legal fights against the board of the Kennedy Center and against Trump and his proposed rennovations is part of the incessant battle of Democrats against any Trump initiative. They were angry that a Joel Shapiro statue was removed from the grounds of the Kennedy Center and returned to his foundation. They have been in and out of court to try to stop the construction of ballroom at the White House that is already underway.

Nearly 40 universities maintain neo-segregated housing despite HUD demand to end practice– www.thecollegefix.com

EXCERPT:

Nearly 40 universities across the nation this year continue to offer neo-segregated dorms and housing opportunities despite a recent demand from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to end race-based discriminatory residential programs.

Research by The College Fix found 39 universities this fall semester operate “affinity housing” or “living-learning communities” geared toward students of a particular race or ethnicity.

Proponents argue such arrangements improve retention rates, foster peer mentorship, and support academic integration for historically underrepresented groups. However, these offerings have been deemed a euphemism for discrimination by the Trump administration. Another term used to describe such arrangements is “neo-segregation.”

Fix research identified 39 universities with one or more such residential programs, but because many universities operate multiple communities, the total number of individual segregated housing programs is substantially higher, coming in at 74.

Of the 39 universities, at least 28 offer housing geared toward black or African students, 17 toward Hispanic or Latino students, 10 toward Native American or Indigenous students, and nine toward Asian students. Several universities offer multiple affinity housing programs.

“I am not surprised that neo-segregated housing persists in American colleges and universities,” said Peter Wood, president of the National Association of Scholars, in an email interview with The College Fix.

If Karl Rove thought he could publicly announce that he’s voting for a Texas Democrat this November without getting some serious blowback from President Trump, he seriously miscalculated the situation.

The president came in from the top rope in a Monday evening Truth Social post after news broke that Rove, the longtime Republican strategist and one-time adviser to former President George W. Bush, planned to cross party lines in the Texas Railroad Commission race and vote for Democrat Jon Rosenthal over the Republican nominee, Bo French.

Rove, wrote Trump, is a RINO and “a stone cold loser” who has suffered from Trump Derangement Syndrome for the past decade. Furthermore, declared the president, Rove is “bad for the Republican Party” after being “completely wrong so often.”

Karl Rove is so bad for the Republican Party, and completely wrong so often. CA Cops Are Using Flock Cameras To Spy On A Small WI Village– thefederalist.com

EXCERPT:

Elm Grove is a quiet village of about 6,500 in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, 15 minutes from downtown Milwaukee. Like many municipalities, officials in Elm Grove recently caught Flock fever, installing six cameras that constantly surveil the village’s main streets.

Flock Group, Inc. is a tech company that has sold more than 120,000 cameras to governments, schools, hospitals, shopping malls, and neighborhood associations. Marketed as ALPRs — automated license plate readers — they capture far more than plates: passing vehicles, pedestrians, backyards, and sometimes even the inside of vehicles.

Flock uploads the images and videos from its nationwide network of cameras into a massive location-history database. Flock’s AI tools create a “vehicle fingerprint” for each vehicle — every scratch, dent, bumper sticker, trailer, roof rack, or other noticeable feature is logged. Flock can document where you’ve been in the past month, where you are today, and even predict where you’re going in the future and who you’ll travel with. As with most emerging AI tech, the sky’s the limit.

What’s notable about Elm Grove’s six cameras is not that they exist, but that the cameras are searched more than a million times most months. But Elm Grove officers aren’t doing the bulk of that searching. Audit logs obtained through public records requests by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty show that Elm Grove’s officers only search their own cameras a few dozen times a month for minor local crimes, like traffic infractions.

President Trump turned a live tech interview into a must-see political moment Monday when he called Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in the middle of Huang’s appearance at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles.

Huang put the call on speaker. The president then delivered a blunt message to a room packed with technology leaders: America cannot let fear, red tape, or a wave of AI doomsday predictions hand the future to China.

The full exchange shows Trump joking with Huang before driving straight into the fight over AI, data centers, and American leadership:

Trump said the idea that robots are about to take over the world has been turned into a political and economic “hoax.” He argued that the people pushing America to slow down are giving Beijing exactly the opening it wants.

“The happiest group is China,” Trump told the room. He warned that American companies are already looking abroad when permitting and infrastructure obstacles make major projects harder to build here at home.

It’s Time to Revoke the Activist Teachers’ Union’s Federal Charter › American Greatness– amgreatness.com

EXCERPT:

I spent eight years on a school board watching the teachers’ union abandon pay and working conditions for social justice campaigns, grim reaper theatrics, and the claim that biology is optional.

The National Education Association (NEA) is America’s largest teachers’ union, and it holds a rare federal charter issued in 1906. Its mission has changed. Rather than advocating for better working conditions and pay for teachers, it’s focused on gathering activists to further its social justice causes. Should its charter be revoked? My answer is an emphatic YES!

Teachers’ unions don’t care that American children continue to fall behind in reading and math. Instead, they’re focused on abortion rights, protecting sexually explicit materials in schools, and pushing social justice activism. They align themselves with Godless Marxist groups like the Zinn Education Project, which pushes its sacred religion of self-actualization and vilifies capitalism.

As a former elected school board member, I watched the union’s strategy up close. Its priority is electing its chosen candidates so it can control elected officials and advance its far-left extremist political agendas. On Election Day, it passes out literature for its favored candidates, falsely claiming, “this is who the teachers want.” In my district, less than nine percent of school employees are union members, according to tax filings.

They Now Call Population Control “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights”– www.lifenews.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

The term “sexual and reproductive health and rights,” or SRHR, did not appear out of nowhere. It grew out of a political problem.

For years, the United Nations and Western governments spoke openly about “population control.” But that language generated resistance, particularly from developing countries that had every reason to distrust wealthy nations telling poorer nations that they had too many children. Worse, population programs in the 1970s and 1980s became associated with coercive practices, including forced or pressured contraception and sterilization. Even UNFPA now acknowledges that the move away from population targets came partly in response to abuses connected with population-control policies.

So the vocabulary changed.

Instead of controlling populations, the UN increasingly spoke about “reproductive health,” “reproductive rights,” and eventually “sexual and reproductive health and rights.” The language sounded softer. More personal. More rooted in health and individual rights.

One of the central figures in that transformation was Nafis Sadik, the longtime executive director of the United Nations Population Fund and Secretary-General of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo. Sadik aggressively promoted the reproductive-rights framework that came to dominate UN population policy. Cairo became the turning point.

The 1994 conference did not simply update population policy. It changed its vocabulary and architecture. UNFPA itself says Cairo “introduced the concepts of sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights” and advanced a new definition of population policy centered on reproductive health and women’s empowerment.

Yale School of Management professor Edieal Pinker analyzed 1,559 Times articles published between Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023 terrorist attack and June 7, 2024, finding a persistent imbalance that increasingly portrayed Israel as the “sole aggressor” while Hamas’s continuing role in the war largely disappeared from the narrative.

“Drawing on a corpus of 1,559 news articles, I document a dominant narrative consistent with a framing that assigns near-exclusive agency and responsibility to Israel while diminishing Hamas’s role in sustaining the conflict,” Pinker wrote.

The only attack Republicans have on El-Sayed is being interviewed by Piker, and they know the media is only too willing to promote their memes.

JIANG: Well, there are Jewish voters in your state who are concerned about your relationship with Piker. You have condemned anti-Semitism, but not called out his rhetoric directly. Why not?

El-Sayed: Weijia, with all due respect, this is the third time you’ve asked about a Twitch streamer in California.

I’ve done four events in Michigan this week. You know what didn’t come up? Twitch streamers in California.

You know what did come up? Grocery prices. The fact that people can’t see a doctor. The worry that they have about the quality of air and water.

I’m not interested in having a conversation about streamers in California because they are not raising the prices of gas and groceries.

I’m more interested in having a conversation about tariff policies and trade wars we shouldn’t be fighting.

About hot wars with Iran.

About AI, which I know we were supposed to talk about right now.

So let’s actually talk about the issues that are affecting people instead of getting distracted by whatever the president says we should be talking about.

Their whole game is to make us fight culture war so that we don’t pay attention to the fact that the president has made $2.2 billion.

How about the ability to believe that you could see a doctor without having to potentially fall into medical debt?

Those are the conversations that people are having. Those are the conversations I want to have.

So yeah, I’m not all that interested in having a conversation about a Twitch streamer, forgive me, when people can’t afford their gas and their groceries.

Data Centers Are About To Burn More US Natural Gas Than Almost Every Country On Earth– dailycaller.com

EXCERPT:

American data centers are on track to consume more natural gas than nearly every country in the world within the next decade as the artificial intelligence boom drives electricity demand higher, according to a new BloombergNEF outlook.

Natural gas consumption used to generate electricity for U.S. data centers is projected to increase by 15 billion cubic feet per day through 2035, according to BloombergNEF. The projection accounts for the possibility that many data center projects currently planned across the country will never be built.

“In short, the resource base and producer response are sufficient, but the mix would shift toward higher-cost dry-gas drilling, supporting moderately higher gas and electricity prices than a high-oil-price, high-associated-gas world,” Stuart Turley, president and CEO of the Sandstone Group and host of the Energy News Beat podcast, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The additional demand alone would exceed the amount of natural gas currently consumed by every country except China, Russia, Iran and the United States, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration

It’s tempting for us amateur observers of life and history to put events like September 11, 2001, in nice, neat, little boxes. It helps us understand momentous events and deal with the trauma.

The 9/11 mythology that has been nurtured, cared for, and augmented over the last 25 years hardly resembles the raw, searing pain we felt on that day and in the immediate aftermath of the attacks. We have sanitized it, drawn the emotion from it as we might draw poison from a snakebite, until what’s left is banal and boring.

The “Falling Man” is still comfortably anonymous. Ultimately, photographer Richard Drew and many historians view “The Falling Man” less as a single named individual and more as an “Unknown Soldier” representing the tragic fate of the thousands of people who died trapped in the towers that morning.

The much-debated (and much-maligned) 9/11 memorial is perhaps the most unsatisfactory manifestation of a national tragedy we have. The winning design, Reflecting Absence, was overly stark, abstract, and somber. No American flags, no religious symbols. Critics called it “hyperindividualized” rather than unifying.

Others found the memorial moving and appropriate. The museum’s historical orientation video and exhibits faced criticism from civil rights organizations and scholars who argued that the terminology used failed to sufficiently differentiate general Islam from extremist violent jihadism. I saw the orientation video, and aside from the narration not outright claiming that “THIS IS NOT ISLAM,” it told the story of the attacks as straightforwardly as possible.
